He had finished all of the jobs his father had sent him on - unfortunately. It was back to his home village and his father. Back to no freedom and rants of how he would be nothing in life with how his attitude was. Not to mention he would have to hide his journal again. Oh the joys of home....maybe he could just hide outside the village and wait for him to leave before going to see if he had any more odd jobs. If he could even just sneak in at night maybe he could get in undetected. He had been going over several different plans as he drew closer and closer to the village, and now that he was about a half a days walk from the village he had just stopped completely. He could camp there for the night, right? No need to go back just yet. Maybe you can claim you got distracted by talking to someone. Like he would believe that one.

"Hello!"
The voice came from behind him and it belonged to none other than Kolari. Strung over her shoulders was a long pole, and from each pole dangled strings that were attached with heavy rope. Each basket was filled to the brim with a variety of grains, fruits and vegetables. The young woman had traveled out of town and went down to collect her family's imported food from another city. Her task was to bring it home safe and sound. These were trips that Kolari made every so often, about once a month or so, when their provisions began to dwindle. It was easiest for her to go, given that both of her parents work, and she enjoyed traveling, so it all worked out.
"You seem deep in thought," she went on to say, hoisting the pole over her shoulders to gingerly set her baskets down on the ground. With being so far out from the village, she probably wouldn't make it before nightfall hit. Best to set up camp, as this young man was probably thinking of doing. Now that her family's food was safe and secure on the ground, Kolari slung a pack that was draped on her shoulders off her back and proceeded to set up camp. This was as good of a place as any to rest, and she would have company to boot! It couldn't get much better than that.
"My name's Kolari, by the way! It's nice to meet you."

Oh no! Why did someone have to be so far out and spot him? He had been sure that no one would come out this far, especially with it getting so late, but of course he was wrong. It was just his luck really. Shifting his pack on his back more, Dezani sighed to himself as he began rummaging around in it to find his journal. Hopefully she would take his quiet nature as him not noticing her and continue on, though he doubted his luck would be so grand. He could feel his hands starting to shake due to how nervous he was around the Leaf girl - a normal reaction when interacting with others. His cowardice when speaking to people along with his anxiety really made it impossible for him to talk to the girl. It would just be better if she moved on and searched for another spot instead of putting up with him and his problems. Father is of course right about me being useless. I can't even speak to someone being kind to me. What sort of person am I to not be able to even utter a word to another? Finally rummaging around in his pack long enough, his hands slid over the rough surface of his journal. It was his lifeline and really the only way he could handle people. If she did persist in speaking to him at least he had it by his side.

While Denazi rummaged in his bags for his journal, Kolari busied herself in other ways. First, she set up her tent, which normally would have taken longer for other people. She was used to it, however, having ventured out many times to different parts of the country. Setting up her tent took no time at all, and once that was set up, she rolled out her sleeping bag inside of it. When nightfall came, she'd be ready to hit the hay with no muss or fuss.
Satisfied with her job on the tent, she then proceeded to gather sticks and dried grasses to make a fire. It would be getting dark soon, so the light would not only be immensely useful, but the warmth would be nice as well. It took her a little bit, but after an hour or so, she had enough to get a fire going. Luckily for her, she always kept a flint and steel in her backpack for occasions such as this. Before she struck them together, Kolari closed her eyes and murmured a quiet prayer: "Spirit of fire, please provide us with your warmth and protection from the cold and the darkness this evening, as well as any predators or evils that may seek to harm us..." Her words trailed off into silence after that, and she struck up the fire with little issue. Clearly, the fire spirits had been watching out for them, and that made her feel more at ease.
"Isd is a nice place to live, isn't it," the young woman went on to say, once she was finished with all of her other chores. She sat by the fire now, just relaxing and staring at it with a fond grin. "We haven't lived there long, but it seems as good of a place as any. Far away from Oba -- that's what my parents care mostly about."OpticPeach So sorry for the delay. ; n; My muse for Kolari was gone there for a while. I'm just now getting her back.

Oh boy. Here is where she'd want to get away from him. Most didn't have the patience to bother with him once they knew about his...communication methods. Plus it was getting darker and darker by the moment - she'd never be able to read what he wrote down. Perhaps if he stood close enough by the fire she could see it. Here was to hoping at least. Pulling out his quill Dezani was quick to get to work in getting out a reply to her. His even script was extremely clear and easy to read, as long as the light didn't fail him he was sure he'd be safe. As long as she could read, of course. He hadn't thought of that as an option until just now. That would be a terrible fate for both of them as far as communication went. He being too much of a coward to say anything to anyone new. -Isd is interesting. Though I am from there I hardly stay there much. I usually travel mainly to Sauti for my father's work.- The leafling explained through his writing, chewing nervously on his lip as he held it out for her to read. If she couldn't make it out he would have to find some other way to get his messages across. Mriae Not a problem! Sorry for such a short response. <.<

"Ohhh -- Sauti! My father travels there sometimes for work; he studies the animals of Tendaji!"
Clearly, the lack of light hadn't much bothered Kolari. At least not yet. Neither did Dezani's chosen form of communication. If he wanted to talk via pen and paper, then that was perfectly fine with her. She wasn't all that picky, to be honest, so long as she could talk with him verbally. When the Leaf earthling said he wasn't in town very much, the young woman just nodded her head in agreement. She could understand how he wasn't around all that much.
She had been traveling more and more herself, after all. "I plan on traveling soon, myself. I'm headed to Oba." The idea of traveling so far away probably unsettled her parents a little bit, but they knew it was what she wanted to do. Despite their slight discomfort, in the end, they would support their daughter, no matter what. She wanted to see what all the fuss was about in the desert nation, and the best way to do that was to travel. Surely, it couldn't be as bad as her family made it out to be.

-I would like to travel to other places besides Tale and Sauti, but my father really won't allow it. He wants me to continue to run jobs for him. He's a beast tamer.- Dezani explained, thinking of his father more and the duties he had to perform for him. He didn't want to be a beast tamer, but that was what his father expected him to do. It had run in his family for generations apparently, and now he was supposed to continue legacy. The mere thought of doing it for the rest of his life made him cringe. It would mean never getting out from under his father's wing. Always doing what he told him to do. -I don't want to be a tamer though. I would much rather be a rider.- He continued, smiling at the thought. He just had to find the perfect mount first. He wouldn't settle for anything less.
