yes he did, however he came back to life, thanks to Al...he even got his arm and leg back...however, ed decided to go save al and bring him back...and al got his body back..but he's still as a 10 year old and doesn't remember what happened in the past four years...and Ed was sent to the other side of the gate with his automail arm and leg again...so they have a pretty much a sad ending.... crying its really sad but really, really good...i watched it like over a dozen times!
