General Painite had not had enough blood spilled for her taste, despite the huge battle she had just been a part of. It was never enough. Her prey had escaped, after all, so they were still worth hunting down. And Camelot had not been killed like she wanted him to be. She had to keep hunting.

She was tired of her promises coming up empty. When she told someone she was going to destroy them, she wanted them to know she meant it.

No matter what it took.

Tonight she was in the park, drawn there for some reason, though it had not been her usual hunting ground for a long time. Maybe when she was much younger and newer in the Negaverse, a Lieutenant mostly, but certainly not since becoming a General. It was mostly because she knew it to be a place for easy targets, and while that was fine for some fun, she had been craving more dangerous hunts.

Now, though, she would take whatever she could find.

Resting like a leopard, Painite had settled comfortably enough in one of the larger trees, watching the area below and mostly just letting her senses do the hunting for now. If a Senshi or Knight came into this area, she would feel it.

She was going to meet Merlinite again. Lysithea had been so excited to see him the other day, though they both had to leave after just a few short words…but hey. Some of those words involved a time a place to meet again…so she wasn’t complaining.

The senshi made her way to the meeting point, not even worried about the aura of the powerful Negaverse person that she felt, because clearly that was Merlinite, what other explanation could there be?

“Merlinite~ Are you there? It’s me, Lysithea! I’m here, I didn’t expect you to get here so early, but that’s okay. I brought you some cookies!” She had. She had even baked them herself.

There was a crush the size of Texas there. There really was. She was completely and stupidly infatuated with this Negaverse agent, and she really didn’t have any sort of clue as to why. But…she wasn’t complaining.
Crushes could only hurt her heart in the end, and that was nothing different. Heartbreak was easy to deal with.

"Merlinite...?"

Painite felt the aura and heard the distant voice of a senshi, though the fact that this little thing was calling for Merlinite was a mystery to her. Just what did this senshi want with Painite's Captain?

Merlinite had no business with Senshi, other than taking their starseeds.

"Not Merlinite, my little lovely. No, not Merlinite at all. Painite. My name is Painite. Now why, oh why, are you calling for my Captain?" The way she emphasized my was very specific, and there was even a flare of jealousy in her tone.

Possessiveness.

"Who are you? Wait, no, I don't care at all." Ever since her close brush with death, her speech patterns had been a bit more wild, more scattered, than they usually were. She was learning to reign in her emotions now, but it was all too easy to give in to bad habits.

She called her spear to her hand as she dropped out of her tree, landing near enough to the senshi to not be missed. She offered a smile that had no warmth or friendliness in it at all, and might as well have been a sneer or a scowl.

Lysithea blinked. Oh. So it wasn’t Merlinite? Well…whoever it was had a lovely voice…so that was something, right? Maybe they could be friends too? She seemed to know Merlinite…but…

But the her part…

Was she dating Merlinite? Oh. Well…that was kind of a pickle. Still…Lysithea tried to keep up a smile…even though that spear was slightly freaking her out…

“Um, we were supposed to meet here, that’s all. We’re friends…and I brought cookies, like I said…I’m Lysithea…the senshi of Unicorns…It’s nice to meet you, Painite? I think…would um…Would you like a cookie, maybe? I did make them myself…”

And maybe sharing cookies would make this woman less inclined to go stabby stabby…because Lysithea’s danger sensors were starting to go off on all levels…hadn’t Merlinite even said to watch out for other members of the Negaverse…? He totally had, and she had totally never listened…

And…this one wasn’t an attractive male, that was true…but…but surely she could be reasoned with…

…Maybe?

"You're friends?" Painite laughed. She had no reason to believe that. Merlinite was a loyal and dedicated member of the Negaverse. If he was making friends with the senshi, it was to lure them into a trap later. There was no way he would actually waste his time on someone like this, right?

And not JUST because she was a senshi.

"Cookie? Well, why not, hm?"

Painite smiled that same, heartless smile, moving toward the little senshi leisurely. What hurry was she in, anyway? She used her spear like a walking stick, her back still aching her sometimes, though right now it was only a ploy. Every ounce of innocence she feigned was nothing but a ploy. Once she was close enough, of course, she lashed out. Never one to do the expected, she banished her spear and opted to do this fight personally, with her fists. She took a swing for Lysithea's face, not holding much back.

Elsewhere, Merlinite was on his way to meet his senshi friend. He had been tasked with finding a few orbs of energy for Painite, and though he was loathe to do it, he had to keep up appearances. He found a few homeless people and took what energy he dared from them as they slept, and now was on his way toward the park.

Lysithea let out an inaudible sigh of relief when Painite mentioned she would like one of the cookies…well! That was progress. That was good. She busied herself in opening the bag, and had just managed to pull out one of the still slightly warm chocolate chip cookies…when a fist hit her in the face.

A fist. Right to the face. What the…ow.

The senshi didn’t know what hit her…well, obviously it was a fist, but…
But they were going to share cookies…how rude…

She hadn’t realized she had let out a cry when she fell, but…her mouth closed and the strange sound that came out of it stopped when she sat back up, rubbing her cheek and looking so damn confused…

There wasn’t that much damage done to her person…but the cookies…clearly she had lost something in the moment between standing and sitting on the ground…for the cold ground was now enjoying the cookies that were for herself and Merlinite…and of course, the only sensible thing she could think of saying at this moment in time was so simple. So terribly simple.

“…That was mean…what was that even for? My cookies…

Painite was not in the mood to play with this senshi like she might have done her other toys. No, this one was going to get to suffer, because she said all the wrong things. Talking about Merlinite as if she knew him, as if she cared! No one knew Merlinite like Painite did. He saved her, after all.

She was his, and he was hers. There was no other way around it.

"Oh, little senshi. I haven't even started being mean just yet."

Painite grinned. Just yet. She was definitely capable of being mean, of course, and would show this senshi just what that meant. She charged again, not giving Lysithea much time to recover herself from the surprise attack. The cookies would be the last of her worries in a short moment.

Lifting her foot, Painite aimed a powerful kick for the senshi's midsection, aiming to knock her to the floor in the most brutal way she knew how. Sheer force.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 28, 2015 8:42 pm

If only Lysithea had known that the woman she had helped fight to save would one day be doing this to her…she would never have done it. As it was, she had no idea that the frail, broken woman from before was this monster…even if there were no glamours in the world to keep people from learning identities…she would never have believed that this was even a remote possibility.

Yet…that was what was happening.

The senshi let out a cry of real pain as the foot collided with her chest. It might have been her imagination…but she thought she heard a slight crack, and wildly wondered if all of her ribs were still…whole.

There was enough pain to justify these fears too…so…that was a thing.
She had tumbled back to the ground, lying there, panting…though she had managed to keep enough wits about her to at least try and attack back…and of course…grabbing the foot that kicked you, that was always the best plan. Clearly.

Why was she so abysmally stupid?

“B-b***h!”

Painite followed her as she fell, taking her chance to kick Lysithea one more time on the way down, just for good measure. She did not seem to notice the Senshi's efforts to fight back, too focused on her own attacks.

"Don't be stupid, you little brat! There is no way you can win!"

She laughed as she spoke, wild and joyous. She was having too much fun, but then, she did not believe there was such a thing. She adored hunting and playing with her prey, and this one, though brand new to her, deserved every ounce of pain she was getting.

Painite did not stop when the senshi hit the ground. Instead, she took the opportunity to stomp down on Lysithea's arm, pinning it down to the ground when she tried to grab at Painite's leg. Stupid little brat.

"I'll teach you," Painite was saying, without seeming to notice, "to play with my things." Bending, she moved her foot off of the senshi's arm to grab a hold of it, dragging her unceremoniously a shirt distance to pin her arm against a rock. Once in position, holding her arm down while shifting her own body to get into a better angle, Painite lifted her foot and stomped down once again on Lysithea's arm, though this time she had a very clear goal in mind. With the gap the rock and her arm created, there was plenty of space to snap a bone.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 28, 2015 9:20 pm

Lysithea struggled as she was dragged. There was no way in hell she wanted this. Her eyes were wide and a stream of indiscernible words was issuing from her mouth. She was afraid, that was the easiest thing to say, clearly. Her eyes darted every which way when she realized she couldn’t pull away…and right before the dreaded foot came down once again, she drew in a breath, and cried out as loud as she possibly could.

“Merlinite! Help!”

When the foot came down, snapping the bone in her arm, her cries turned into an unearthly shriek of pain, tears gushing from her eyes.

She had never managed to break a bone before, and now it looked like she had broken two, or maybe just one…now that her arm was in such pain…she didn’t even notice the pain from her rib anymore…

"Why are you calling for him?!" Painite screeched furiously, losing what little control of her temper she had. She kicked at Lysithea wildly, with savage intention, not caring what she connected with, just that she connected with something that hurt.

She was so wrapped up in her assault, she did not even feel the aura of a second Negaverse soldier arriving on the scene.

"Painite NO!" Merlinite yelped, and his instinct to help his friend, one of the very few really close friends he had, overrode his very strong instincts to protect himself. It was new to him, as he had lived a very cowardly and singular existence up until that point, but the line had finally not only been found, but crossed.

He leaped at his General, slamming into her back and sending them both falling away from Lysithea. They struggled, Painite making unnatural sounds of fury as she clawed at him, until he managed to pin her to the ground. He was sitting on her chest, and she stared up at him as if she only just realized who he was.

"Merlinite! What are you doing? Get off of me and destroy that senshi!"

"Painite, come on, we need to get out of here. Just forget it, alright?" He tried, moving off of her slowly but not taking his eyes off her for a second. If he gave her an opening, she would take it.

"Why? Why aren't you following my order? Go get her, Merlinite! Do it now! You are my Captain, and that is an order!"

Merlinite stared at Painite for a long moment, then scowled and nodded his head. He turned from her and stiffly walked to Lysithea, but instead of trying to attack her, he stooped down to see if she was okay.

"I'm so sorry," he said softly, something he felt he had said so much recently it must have lost all meaning by now. "It's going to be okay, I'll get you out of here."

The senshi had tried to make herself as small as possible, curling up as best she could, hoping for some protection from the blows that were coming from the General. She didn’t know what she had done to deserve any of this…and she was more terrified than she had ever been in her entire life and…

And suddenly the kicking stopped, leaving Lysithea with nothing but her broken arm and pain radiating all over her body.

There was no way she could even get up right now…and suddenly…suddenly Merlinite was there…and she felt a bit better…at least some of her fear left her…so that was good.

Lysithea let out a sob when he spoke, not even really understanding what he was saying…none of this was making sense. “M-merlinite…I think I pissed off your girlfriend…I’m sorry…”

Darkness closed in on her then, and she felt as though the world was falling away. And part of her just wanted it to fall away. She was hurt, but surely she was safe with him there.

She had to be. Right?

Painite watched the duo skeptically, anger burning in her chest as she watched Merlinite cradle the fallen senshi against him, affectionately and most definitely not in a way a man only pretending to be friends with someone would. The senshi was unconscious, after all, so he hardly had to keep up appearances.

"Merlinite," she growled lowly, calling her spear to her hand and taking two ominous steps toward them. Merlinite watched her with wide eyes, but this time he did not run away from her. This was it, the breaking point. He had no choice but to stand his ground now, and it had been a long time coming. Too long. He had let her push him around, scare him, for too long.

He was done doing terrible things because he did not want her to hurt him. Whatever happened now, it was his fate. And at least he would go out doing the right thing for once.

"Stay back, Painite," he said stiffly.

"Kill that Senshi, or I will kill you both," the General replied almost casually, and there was no doubt in her ice cold voice. Whatever emotion, however twisted it had been, she had for him seemed to be gone now. She looked at him as she did all her prey, and he shuddered.

"No."

"Then I will!" She screamed suddenly, and she burst into motion. Charging forward, she hauled her spear over her head, aiming to slam it down and stab her way through both the traitor and the senshi he protected. Merlinite did not cower, did not run away, instead leaping to his feet and standing over Lysithea, catching the staff of the spear with his hands and just barely avoiding the blade as he grappled with her, pushing back against her weapon.

"No! Painite! She saved you!! When you were dying! You would have been killed if it weren't for her! I went to her, and brought you with me! I found a senshi that knew how to heal, even just a little, and she used her magic to heal you enough to survive! I don't doubt for a second that without the senshi's help, you would have died! You hate them, but they saved your life!!!"

Painite abruptly released her hold on her spear, causing Merlinite to find himself pushing back against nothing. It made him stumble, and he bumped into her awkwardly, but no surprise attack came. She stared at him, standing completely still, not even blinking.

It was as if the very idea of a senshi helping her had broken her ability to focus. She felt the deep, piercing pain of his betrayal in numerous ways. Not only had he taken her to a senshi, her greatest enemy, he now fought for them. Protected them. Loved them? He was meant to be hers, the one person left on this earth she could truly put her faith in. Everyone else had proven to be false, or used as a pawn at best. But Merlinite was special. He had seen her at her weakest, and he made her love him.

"We can join them," she heard him saying, but it sounded like he was on the other end of a long tunnel, "I know they'll purify us both, and we can do good... I've been talking to them, they'll help me, and if you came with me... I mean they'd be surprised, but maybe..."

She felt his arms around her, and she realized she had no idea how much time had passed. How long was she standing there, in utter shock? How long had she been crying? Her hands were clinging to his shirt, shaking as her body trembled with sobs. He was rubbing her back, holding her close, and she closed her eyes as she leaned on him.

"I won't let you go," she said quietly.

"Wha..?"

She reached into his chest before he could finish his question. For a moment, he felt a surge of power, painful though it was to experience. He shut his eyes and tried to pry her hand from him, but she had a firm hold of his starseed now, and was staring him dead in the eyes as she forced Chaos into it. The pain kept increasing, and he let out a strangled scream, realizing she was not going to stop.

It was too late, anyway.

Merlinite's screams increased until his voice broke, and Painite felt something splinter in the palm of her hand. She stepped back, finally pulling her hand out of his chest, and watched him crumple into a heap, animalistic sounds being ripped from his throat as his body twisted and shifted. A wing burst from his back, long claws curled from his fingers. A tail grew from underneath a tattered cape. Where once might have been a General, there was now a monster. Painite watched, horrified though she knew what she had been doing.

Making him hers, whether he wanted to be or not.

Stepping back, overcome, Painite teleported away from the scene, leaving both senshi and half youma behind her.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 29, 2015 9:16 am

There were some things that made you overcome your own pain. There really were. And maybe it was just the fact that whatever warmth that had been holding her was long gone, or maybe it was just the…the charged air, full of anger and fear and all sorts of negative emotions…

Something pulled Lysithea back out of the darkness that unconsciousness had brought…pulled her out so the first thing she saw was Merlinite…

Her Merlinite…hugging that monster…that awful woman…

To be honest, that scene hurt worse than any of the injuries that Painite had given her…at least…at the moment it did…but what happened next was worse still.

So much worse.

While the General had her hand in Merlinite’s chest, Lysithea could do no more than watch, horrified and spellbound. It was not something that she had ever wanted to see…and the screaming coming from Merlinite…she knew that sound would haunt her nightmares for the next hundred years at least…

When Painite was gone, Lysithea did her best to get over to the…the creature that was now in place of the Captain she had been harboring a crush on. It took a few minutes and quite a bit of struggling, but she got there. Finally.

“M-merlinite…Merlinite…what did she do to you?” The senshi reached out her good arm and rested her hand on the now half youma’s head, mindful of the horns that were now poking out from his skull…

He was like a dragon…

Her knight in shining armor was now a dragon…

“I can fix this I-I can fix this…”

Tears were streaming down her cheeks before she had even realized it. He was hurt. That was all. He was just hurt. “I can f-fix this, Merlinite…just hang on…okay? I got this…L-lysithea Mending Horn!”

She held the small horn against his body, hoping something would happen…anything. He couldn’t be a dragon…she couldn’t have done this to him! No…no…Her Merlinite…

Nothing happened. Nothing changed...her attack...her healing power...it was so useless...

She was so useless...

There was nothing she could do but sob. Nothing at all.

Orangeish Sherbert

It took Merlinite a long moment to recover from the intense pain of his forced corruption. he did not see Painite leave, though her aura was gone when he finally managed to look up and around, eyes wild for a moment as Chaos surged through him. He lifted his hands, bringing his knees under him to support himself, and looked at the claws, the red color, the scales.

His hands began to shake, and he heard Lysithea's voice, felt her magic. But these were not injuries. He was perfectly healthy. He had just been changed.

He'd been turned into a monster.

"Stay back," he said, his voice strange because he was not used to talking with fangs. He struggled to his feet, fumbling with his footing as he found one of his legs now ended in a claw. He spread his wing for balance, and that alone was enough to send his senses reeling again. A new limb, one he had never used before, and a wing, at that!

Everything was gone. Everything he was, everything he could have been. There was no way he could be purified now. No way he could ever leave the Negaverse. He was trapped, he was disfigured. He had no civilian life. He had become a creature, and would live like one, he knew. He really was Painite's pet now.

No, he could not bear it.

"I... I..." he looked at Lysithea and saw her pain, her tears, her horror. He wanted to hug her, to hold her and heal her and pretend none of this was happening, but he did not trust himself to touch her now. What if he hurt her? What if he could not control himself? He backed away from her, shaking his head slowly, unable to say a thing.
