Mayu stood at the temple's window, staring out with a blank look on her face. Though no emotion showed, her mind was racing. Every fiber of her being wanted to be out there searching out Adonis' murderer, but Venus needed her so much more. Perhaps instead she'd send out her two sisters to do her work for her. She knew, or at least assumed they cared for Venus as much as she and would be honored with such a task. To bring justice to this flock... How rewarding that would be!

She nodded to herself, yes, that's what she would have to do once she returned. For now she had to tear herself away from Venus' side, but it was all for Venus in the end. Everyone had been so wrapped up in solving the mystery as well as attending to Venus, that little things here and there had been forgotten about. Mayu didn't mind running the errands, she knew how important those little things were to Venus, and if they were important to Venus then they were very important to Mayu.

She stretched her wings to break the spell she was under. She needed to head out. As she turned she was met with her small bird Mina. Good, just who she needed to see. “Watch over Venus for me while I am gone.” she cooed to it, letting it rest on her finger as she scratched the top of its head with her other hand. Her long nails sparkled with gems as they ruffled the small bird's feathers. “If anything goes amiss find me immediately. Do not even question the circumstance.” The little bird's eyes flashed with understanding and Mayu felt comfort from it. She kissed the top of it's head before releasing it to the air again. She watched it flutter off into the temple before turning towards the temple's entrance.

Her talons clicked against the marble flooring as she made her way towards it. She recited her list in her head again and thought out her path for the umpteenth time. She didn't doubt she'd forget, it was more so to get her mind off of Venus and how she had reacted to the situation. Her heart broke for the lovely female. She herself had yet to seek out a mate, what with tending to Venus and her flock taking more of her attention and thoughts, so she couldn't say she understood the emotion, but she certainly cared for the other and when she hurt so did Mayu.

As she stepped out into the day she spread her wings wide. She took a moment to let the warmth of the sun caress her wings before taking to the sky in just a few short pumps of her wings. Before long she was soaring with the wind whipping at her hair. The feeling was like any other, causing her heart to race and mind to soak it in. Her love of flying fell right in behind Venus and her flock. She could live without her wings if it meant Venus and her flock were safe, but it would definitely be a devastating life event if it happened. She almost pitied those who couldn't.

She was so lost in thought that the time seemed to pass her by. After awhile her eyes picked up a sight that she wasn't expecting. Was that a nest? She knew her eyes wouldn't lie to her, not with how well she could see, but for whatever reason her mind didn't want to believe it. It was just such a wonderful thing to happen on that she didn't want to get her hopes up if it wasn't true. It had to be true though! She began to slow her flight and descend. There was a flash of bright green and her heart leapt. It just had to be the owner of the nest... or someone trying to steal the prime spot! It was her duty to find out then! As part of her flock or not, she still cared for her species well being.

To say Erradika had her talons full was an understatement. She had been on her own for so long with just one chick she had become spoiled to the silence...and manners. Now with two. Ohy. She was lucky she could catch a moments worth of shut eye. Seizing the moment she descended down into he nest from her perch, thinking now might be one of those times.

Or so she had thought.

Having scooped up the one chick, Krayyven was now nestled up to her chest, tiny hatching feathers fluffed up as she dozed. Aracari was somewhere quiet, presumably napping too since the little midnight colored chick wasn't fussing for no apparent reason. So Erradika took time to catch a few winks herself, eyes shut tight, feathers ruffled to keep in the heat. Occasionally a talon could click or flick as the wind blew but no other movement could be seen.

Untill Krayyven decided to squirm and squeak. "Whaat now chick, can't a girl get some shut eye?!" she groaned, frustratingly as she sat up to see what the matter was.

Not fond nor friend to many words yet, Kray stuck to squawks, hollers, squeaks, caws, anything that was loud and would surely draw attention. This time it was for a different reason. Cari wasn't the source of the problem today, no it was the sound of wingbeats over head and a strange purpleish blue figure hovering just over head. For being so young, Kray could at least recognize that this one looked like mama, just Purplue instead of big green.

Erradika studied her chick's behavior a moment before turning her gaze towards the sky as well, eyes narrowing on another like her. First the brown clingy one, now this one? What did they all want with her nest?

Standing up, holding the chick in one arm and using her hip to help support it, she waved a hand in a slightly non welcoming manner. "'EY! What gives, was tryin' to nap down here!" she called, eyes narrowed against the sun. Sighing, she ran a hand over her face, brushing strands of her dark colored hair from her green eyes and flipping her braid over her shoulder.

As Mayu neared the figure came better into view. Her coloration had been a wonderful camouflage against the lights and darks of the tree she was nesting within! As few wing beats and she was perched within the same tree, being sure to give enough distance between herself and the other. She didn't want to make it seem she was contesting for territory, so she was slow to tuck her wings in and instead of standing with her shoulders squared she slumped them only slightly to show a humble stance.

"Pardon me, sister." her words were soft and gentle, holding her arms out to her sides with the palms facing the other harpy in a slight surrender. "It has been a long while since I have seen another's nest. I was admiring it from above when a flash of color alarmed me. I was not sure if it was the maker or another. I apologize that my investigations have disturbed you."

Her eyes fell to the little one, growing soft with a light of excitement, "What a gorgeous chick!" she breathed. She clasped her hands together before her eyes picked up the other in the nest, her heart stirring at the sight. This female certainly had a lot on her hands, "I will be swiftly out of your feathers, just please, may I just inquire of the chick's names? Your flock must be so blessed to have such a maternal sister amongst them!" Mayu was at least impressed. She understood the work load necessary to maintain such healthy chicks- especially two!

Erradika tilted her head.

This was a strange one, not at all like the other she had met. What was her name.... Ruya? Something like that anyways. At least this new one liked her nest. That made Erra ruffle her feathers up in pride. "S'not bad of a nest if I do say so myself." she grinned, eyeing one hand as if she were inspecting her nails.

Also what was with the sister business?

And chicks?! "Oh.... huh." Erra said, turning her head to spot 'cari nestled at the very edge of the nest, fast asleep. She had thought the teen had buggered off to do her own things, but it looked like she had come back when Erra and, more importantly, Kray hadn't been paying attention. "Well that's Aracari. She's not really mine. I found her as an egg and took her in." she said with a tough but loving smile. "And this noise maker is Krayyven. She's new and... well. Unexpected. " she said, glancing down at the purple chick who finally seemed to stop making such noise.

She needn't mention the egg she kicked out, that was irrelevant at this point. That chick was either long gone or taken in by some poor sap by now. Too bad they couldn't have met their hero of a....mom?

Shrugging, Erra shook her head. "No flock here, its just me and these two. Haven't felt the need to... join one yet."

Kray couldn't figure out if she liked this other one or not. She certainly was fun to look at and a lot nicer to look at then little green. Wasn't her mama green either though. Reaching a hand out, she flexed her little fingers at the other bird lady, wondering how it would react. This one seemed very talkative, or as much so as a little one could figure out.

Mayu nodded at the other, a soft smile turning up her lips, "Yes, I would have to agree! Seems you took quite a bit of pride in constructing it- I can see it in the workmanship." She tilted her head slowly from side to side as she was eying it. A ting touched her heart as she thought about being able to do so as well, but the other side of her couldn't imagine dragging herself through dirt and other unclean areas in order to accomplish it. She admired this one for being stronger than she in that area.

Her eyes widened at the other's mention of taking the one in. It hadn't even been hers... Her heart swelled with an unexpected emotion, "That, that was a very beautiful thing for you to do." she said in a soft tone. She quickly cleared her throat attempting to recover herself, "And it seems as though you have been rewarded with a strong chick well on her way in life. All one can ask for."

Her attention was then drawn to the 'noise maker', a name that made Mayu chuckle, "Hello, Krayyven." she greeted the chick with a slight bow of the head. At the mother's words, Mayu tilted her head at her, "Unexpected? Well, seems you're one who is very adaptable to what gets thrown at you. Krayyven seems very well." She grinned at the small one as it reached out for her. Mayu was a bit shocked, but touched as well. The young one was so friendly! She dared not over step her bounds in touching her, and instead plucked a gleaming ring from her fingers and leaned over to slip it on the small one's outstretched fingers. It didn't really fit, but it did catch the light of the sun in a beautiful way that bounced off and sent many colors onto any surface it could reach, "Oh, I apologize! I hope you do not mind!" Mayu exclaimed, looking between the mom and chick, "You could tie it up somewhere if you ever need to distract her for a moment of peace." she winked at Erradika knowing how any moment of reprieve was a blessed one.

Mayu then straightened, but the smile the chick brought her never left her face. A look of surprise crossed her features at her response, "No flock?" she quickly followed that up with a smile, "Well you certainly have a growing one right here." Still, hearing that brought some concern to Mayu. Where did this mother go if she ever needed help? Who would she turn to? "I am out running an errand. Are you in need of anything? Shall I check in on you on my way back?" It wasn't much, but Mayu didn't want to overstep and ask if she could check up on them on a regular basis. Still, it left her feel... off. Two young chicks and just this female on her own...

Mayu was struck embarrassed- she didn't know the females name! "How rude of me! I was so wrapped up in my fascinations that I did not introduce myself or learn of your own name. My name is Mayu. I am Matriarch of a small flock. That's truly the reason for my offering- knowing someone is flock-less makes me..." she trailed off trying to let it process in her mind, "Nervous I suppose?" she shrugged helplessly "But I also want to respect your life and your space so do not hesitate to send me on my way. You have obviously made it this far on your own..." Her smile was back on her face to show she meant it and would not be offended if such was asked of her.
