This is a private RP for Nisshou H's Azami. More may eventually join in, not sure yet, I was just trying to figure her out. XD

Note for RP Staffers: As noted in the RP itself Azami can't see spirits or hear them or anything of that nature. She just likes to hope that one day she will.

It was a full moon, the last full moon of winter made all the more spectacular by the snow that still covered the land. The light was so bright that it could pass for early morning rather than the middle of the night that it truly was. The chill that still clung to the air meant that most predators would be nowhere to be found that night. Most, but not all.

Off to one side of a small snow covered meadow a small mare stood in the moonlight. Her coat was as white as the moon itself while her hair was as dark as the midnight sky. Her monochromatic look was offset by deep, blood red scales and hooves and bright crimson wings that seemed to glow beneath the light of the moon. She wore a simple off white wrap around her neck and over her back for protection against the cold. She was no stranger to the harsh bite of winter but she had come from a place that usually kept to slightly more moderate temperatures.

She shook her head causing her ornately styled mane to flop about before settling back into place. A cloud of warm, moist air formed around her mouth as she exhaled slowly. This place was strange to her, but still so familiar, for stretched out before her was a truly gruesome scene. Bodies of both human and soquili alike frozen in shock with just a faint dusting of snow upon them lay on the ground. The mare wrinkled her nose in disgust but not in abject horror as was typical in this situation.

She was no stranger to death. She had been raised to expect and even welcome it. It was a natural part of life. Death would come to those whenever it felt it was necessary. It wasn’t the fact that there were dead here that bothered her. It was that they had been left behind so casually that got under her skin.

“There was not even a reason for this, was there?” She asked herself as she stepped out into the middle of the slaughter. Whatever had done this had done it long ago or at least long enough for there to be no visible tracks in the snow. The mare, and her former herd, believed in the existence of spirits of the deceased and in an afterlife. Although she had never seen a ghost she still believed that they were there and that they could hear her words. Most importantly, she believed that if the spirits of the dead were not consoled they would turn vengeful and turn their hatred to the world around them. With a sigh she began to speak to the dead.

“My name is Azami. I speak to those that linger on in this place. There was no reason for your suffering, you have been wronged and for that I apologize deeply.” She bowed her head until the long, knotted ends of her hair brushed against the earth. “I beg you, do not remain here. There is nothing for you in this world. Go on to reside with those that came and passed before you. Take comfort in their company and do not let hatred over this act corrupt your heart.” She lifted her head and stood very still listening as though she may even get a response this time.
