Every passing minute just filled Junko with more and more anxiety. The longer they were on the train the closer it brought them to the adorable fishing village Seiji lived near, and more specifically the closer it brought them to Seiji's parents house. Junko loved them, they were good creeple, and they had once loved her..at least until she had crushed their son's heart in her fist and stomped on the ashes of their relationship. They probably hated her, despised her; Junko wouldn't fault them for it, she deserved every nasty word and thought they likely said and thought about her. Seiji was supportive, the assuring partner who constantly told her it would be okay, but it had little effect. Their relationship may have risen from the ashes and been born anew like the beautiful Phoenix, but his parents didn't know yet. Junko was beyond antsy. Seiji did his best, but regardless of how many times he would grab her, hold her, cuddle her, even rile her up a bit despite the other passengers nearby, she inevitably would free herself from him and begin pacing. She couldn't sit still, even her hair was agitated. Finally, with half an hour of their trip left, Seiji had convinced Junko to sit still by easing her knitting needles and latest knitting project into her hands. Junko was now nestled against his side, her attention entirely on her knitting. Seiji's arm was draped across the back of Junko's seat and his fingers idly toying with her soft hair, there was even a long tendril wrapped up the length of his arm several times, another tendril around his neck, wrapped around his throat and even weaving around the red thread Junko had tied there; there was more hair around his waist and finally around the lower half of the leg closest to his nervous fiancée. It'll be fine. It'll be fine. It'll be fine. Maybe they'll be happy to see you, Junko thought frantically to herself. Or maybe they'll kick you out and tell you you're not good enough for their son. Not like they'd be wrong...Her shoulders sagged, hands lowering onto her lap. Junko turned her head, hiding her face against Seiji's shoulder. She was so terrified. She just liked them so much. They had been so good to her, better than her own parents. What if she had ruined all of that? What if they didn't like her anymore? She put the knitting needles down, her left hand blindly searching around until she found Seiji's, slid her fingers between his, and squeezed his hand.

Seiji didn't know what to do about his poor fiance's nerves. He'd tried assuring her everything would be fine, he tried being reassuring, he tried being distracting; nothing was working. Worst, her anxiety was so intense it was actually spiking his own, to the point where every time he caught her hand, pulled her back in against him, his grip was just a little too tight, a little stiff. "Baby, you have got to relax," he finally murmured against her hair on one such attempt, cool hands smoothing down her arms in restless lines before she had slipped away from him again. Finally, in a fit of desperation, he'd dug out her needles and yawn and thrust it into her hands before pulling her back down beside her. Honestly, he hadn't expected it to work, but she didn't get up again, and the needles began moving. Watching her out the corner of his eye he let out a quiet sigh as he draped an arm around her shoulders and pulled her in sight against his side. It was going to be alright. He knew why Junko was nervous, but Seiji had been infuriatingly tight lipped about the whole break up when he'd informed his parents of the bad news. They didn't know the details, the ghost had not been willing to talk about it much, and now he was very glad of that fact. It meant his parents had been disappointed, but had no reason to hold any lingering resentment towards Junko. Instead of reminding her for what felt like the hundredth time, he leaned down to lay a kiss on the top of her head as she scenery outside the train window began to grow more familiar. They were close.

She tilted her head naturally into the kiss, her other hand coming up to cup his cheek and rub it in soft strokes of her thumb. Junko moved to drape her legs across his lap, settling against him and simply waiting it out. She didn't want to be afraid of this, but she was. Maybe once they got there it'd be better. Maybe. Hopefully. Finally the train stopped, and Junko lifted her head to look out the window. "We're here," she said quietly, her first words other than 'sorry' and 'I know' since getting on the train. Slowly she untangled herself from him, hair and all, and collected her things. Her yarn, her knitting needles, the gift she had gotten for his mother. "They don't know we're coming?" Just to be absolutely sure. She had recalled Seiji said he wanted to surprise them..

Seiji made a noise of assent as the ghoul untangled herself from his person and got to her feet to tuck away her knitting again. When everything was packed safely again he'd pull the bags down from the luggage rack, taking the largest for himself and offering her the smaller. Usually he'd carry both, but instead he'd offer her his hand, squeeze delicate fingers in a reassuring manner. "No, they don't know we're coming." He'd lead her off the train and out onto the platform, drawing in a long, deep breath purely for the familiar scent of the ocean that wasn't too far from where they now stood. They could have hailed a cab, gotten a lift to the house, but it wasn't that long a walk, and Seiji suspected the ocean air might help settle his poor fiance's nerves.

The offered bag and Seiji's hand were both taken, the plant cradled carefully in her arm with the bag. She gave a nod to his answer and followed him out into the station. Junko looked all around, tilting her head to rest it against his shoulder with a tiny smile. It was a nice village, honestly. She didn't smell oceans often. Junko shifted the bag strap onto her shoulder while she walked alongside Seiji, humming quietly until she realized something. They were walking all the way to his house. Her eyes widened. She should have worn different shoes. Oh Jack. She remembered their last trip to his house where he had made her walk all the way there. Wide green eyes turned up to her fiance. "Can I ride on your back?"

They had walked all the way to his house the last time they'd paid his parents a visit, why should no be any different? The question caught him off guard, though really, he probably should have been expecting it. Either way he gave her a incredulous look, lips twisting to one side. "How am I supposed to carry you, and our luggage, and that plant for my mother?"

Junko would point out last time she wore sandals. This time she was wearing tall heels. Instead she stared right back at him, blinking and tilting her head. "You'll carry me..and I'll carry everything else with my hair." Duh, Seiji. She then smiled, teeth pressing into her bottom lip and giving a little tug as she nudged him with her shoulder. "I'll repay you with a visit to that cave we found last time we were heeeeere~?" At least she was calm for the moment, albeit only because she was distracted from the fact that they were about to visit what was currently the most terrifying place in the world for her.

This made the boil stop, and he turned glowing eyes down on the ghoul as she offered him something that he would have to be stupid to refuse. Lips twitched to the side, eyes narrowed, and after a second or two Seiji sighed and dropped the bag he'd been carrying. "Fine." He let go of her hand so he could drop down to one knee, making it easier for her to climb onto his back. "But next time you're wearing reasonable shoes." When she was situated he straightened back up, but before they started moving again he'd give her thigh a little pinch, just for good measure.

Yay! Junko squealed and moved everything she was carrying to instead be held securely with her hair. She climbed onto her fiance's back, arms around his neck and legs around his waist, her head resting on her arms and tilting to the side against his head. "But you like these shoes," she crooned, even straightening a leg out so he could see the fashionable heel on her foot. She kissed his temple. "Love you~." She gave him an affectionate squeeze and then squealed as he pinched her thigh. "You're so mean! The worst, so awful to meeeeee," the poor damsel in distress whined, but she closed her eyes and relaxed on his back anyway. She played with her engagement ring, turning it on her ringer and tracing her thumb along the swooping shape of it. A tendril of heir wrapped around one of Seiji's wrists. "Wake me when we get there."

"I do like these shoes, but they are not meant for long walks." Chuckling, he gave her another soft pinch on the thigh before patting the area lightly with cool fingers. "Love you too, gorgeous," he murmured softly, leaning into the kiss against his temple. A snort followed the false accusations. "Am I? Should I prove it by dropping you right on your lovely little rear?" He even loosened his grip on her, made her cling all the tighter just to stay on his back for a handful of seconds. But of course he wouldn't, and his grip on her tightened again as she relaxed against him. "You got it." She could nap, he didn't mind. So long as her hair continued to carry their luggage.

His threat and the motion that followed earned Seiji an unhappy whining squeal, indeed clinging tighter to him until he stopped. Jerk. But she did nap..somewhat. More of a light doze that barely made up for the anxiety that had kept her from sleeping well the night before. Her hair never dropped the bags or the plant for his mother, but her hands did fall from where they had been wrapped around his neck to hang loosely in front of him. It was the calmest she had been all day.

And maybe Seiji humming softly as he carried her might also have helped to calm frazzled nervrs, if only a little bit. He kept it up for the entire mile and a half walk from the station to the little house situated on the edge of a cliff overlooking the bay, stopping only when he reached the stone path that lead up to the front door. "J-baby." He turned his head to bump his cheek against her's, a light attempt to rouse her. It was at this time the elderly form of his mother drifted around from the back of the house in a pair of gardening gloves and a big hat. She didn't notice them immediately, but Seiji was grinning when her attention finally lifted from her watering can and onto the pair of youngsters standing at the end of the path. "Oh! Seiji, you didn't tell us you were coming to visit!" She sounded both delighted and annoyed, and as she hurried over she smacked at his arm lightly. "We wanted to surprise you," he informed his mother, laughing softly. The elderly haunt was already looking up at Junko, eyes a little wide, a little perplexed, but after a nod from her son the woman's face broke into a happy smile.

Time flew by easily when one was asleep. Seiji's humming did indeed help lull her into enough relaxation to take a short nap on his back, dozing off peacefully until he nudged her away. She made a sleepy sound, likely an attempt at saying something and failing miserably, and lifted her head to look forward through a small space in hair that had fallen over her face. Her heart skipped a beat. They were here. Oh, Jack. They were here. She wasn't ready. She wasn't ready. She wasn't ready. Junko hid her face against Seiji's shoulder a moment to calm herself, missing his mother coming out from behind the house until she heard her speak. And oh, did she hear her speak. Junko knew an annoyed tone anywhere. It made her visibly flinch as she clung tighter to Seiji. Oh no. Oh no. She saw the hair and she knew it was Junko. She'd messed up. She'd messed up so bad. Another mother who would just hate her. She wasn't good enough for her son. No. Nonononono! Slowly, warily, Junko lifted her head enough for glowing green eyes to peer over Seiji's shoulder and at his mother...'s smile? Junko managed one as well, albeit a cautiously polite and incredibly nervous one, and lifted her head a bit more. "H-hello, Emilia. I, um, I hope you're well..!" Nailed it.

Junko peeking around Seiji's head had the older ghost smiling all the brighter, and she couldn't quite help a chuckle. "Doing just dandy, thank you dear." There was a bemused sort of expression on that wise and wrinkled face as she looked up at the pair of youngsters. The sort of expression the old reserved exclusively for the young, for when they've finally decided to stop mucking about and get down to business. "Good to see you again." Seiji regarded his mother with a amused wariness. Despite all his reassurances, there had been the slight chance that Junko wouldn't have received the warm welcome he'd predicted. Thankfully it seemed he had nothing to worry about. There was a soft brush of fingers along the monster ghoul's thigh, hen he was dropping down into a kneel so she could slid off his back. When he stood again he took her hand, lacing their fingers. "We were hoping to stick around for a few days, if that's alright with you and Dad." the boil grinned, flashing sharp teeth. He already knew they'd be welcome, but he asked anyways, knowing the haunts would appreciate it. Emilia crossed her arms, wrinkled features pinching before she smiled back up at her adopted son. "I suppose that'll be alright."

Junko's head lifted more and more until she was sitting up with full alertness, the tendril if hair that had snaked around Seiji's arm squeezing tightly. "That's good to hear," she replied a bit more softly than she meant. Oops. Emilia didn't.. look mad? Or unhappy to see her? M..maybe she was just being polite? That had to be it. Swallowing hard, Junko nodded. "Y-you, too..oh! I, um, I brought you a gift!" She gave a small laugh as Seiji knelt down to let her off his back, sliding off him and stepping beside him to take a moment and fix her dress before finally bringing around the plant her hair had been protecting. "For your garden! It blooms at night, so I thought you might like it!" When Seiji took her hand she smiled a little brighter, giving his hand a squeeze and sidestepping a little closer to be able to tilt her head against his shoulder. Emilia was being so.. friendly? Was she...not mad at her? Junko pressed her lips together in a thin line when her bottom lip threatened to quiver at the thought. She loved Seiji's parents, they were the first set of parents to love and accept her and welcome her with open arms. More importantly they were Seiji's parents. They didn't have to like her anymore, or even..approve of her, she supposed, but it would make things easier to have them be supportive, and present at their son's wedding, and in his life, and to meet their grandscarelings and be able to spoil them as rotten as their parents would. Junko squeezed Seiji's hand even tighter and sniffed. For a moment, until she blinked a few times, her vision blurred slightly. Oh, Jack. No. No. Abort. Abort mission. She cleared her throat, nodding her head and forcing out a short laugh. "Thank you, Emilia." No, seriously, thank you. Maybe she wasn't mad after all. Junko still wouldn't be able to put her worries to bed for sure until she spoke privately with her, but..but maybe she wasn't angry with her? The possibility of relief was almost overwhelming after weeks of anxiety building up in her the closer to the day of this trip they got; she was about to become desperate for a moment out of Seiji's parents' sights to regain the composure she could feel herself on the verge of losing. "S-so can I go put our stuff in Seiji's room, then?" Pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease. She had to hold her breath to keep herself calm. Beejoux I'm being vague about what exactly what plant it is until I know for sure in Junko and Holly's RP 8D;;;;
