He'd thought catching someone to spar would be easy, but that day wasn't his day, the training fields was free of hunters. The tall man scratched his hair with metallic purple nails, thinking whether to get back to sleep or wait for a while longer. Long bare arms raised up for stretching, the tank barely covered his stomach was pulled up to give a peek of the lean muscles.

<Ace~ Let's go back to the room, I want you to try the earrings I picked for you the other day ♡> Catherine thought it was unwise to wake up earlier than necessary, seeing how inert and inactive her man was. Look, he's yawning again. Her sweet cooing didn't work, Ace was eager for a spar.

He well fitted the Sun Division.

The wait of the Sun trainee wasn't fruitless, he looked at the girl radiating energy like a tiny sun, getting a grasp of the hunter greeted him with enthusiasm. She had a smell - Catherine asked curiously, smell just like me, the vibe of trainee.

Wearing a bright grin, "Hello little sunshine, anything I can help you?" The tall man asked gently.

He chuckled freely, chest up and down. "My pleasure dear, what's your weapon?" Black gloves put on and light flashed by, there was a scythe as tall as him on his hand. "Are you a trainee too? You ready? Lady first."

Ace gestured to Mimi for starting while he posed to defend.

"Yup I'm sure. Whether you attack first or not doesn't matter, your skill and strength do, so don't worry about it." The hesitation of the girl had he waited, swooshing the scythe impatiently but not annoyed. He noticed the expression changes on her face and asked, "Do you need some more time to talk with your weapon? Catherine and I are ready."

If Catherine heard what Dae said, Mimi might have a hard time, luckily she didn't. "Haha, she said thank you, small lady." The laugh was candid but light. "We can talk while we spar, let's take it at our own pace."

He twisted the scythe, as the sound of the wind can be heard then metal clanking, the curved blade already hooked onto Dae's body. "Back to your question, she's a beautiful haunt." He guessed what she was going to answer.

What he did shortly he spoke was a gentle kick at the end of the scythe head to bring it up and then a dig down movement.

He raised and dropped his scythe again, it didn't seem he use a lot of energy but like doing light warm-up exercises. "She's -," he paused, waiting for Catherine to answer the question. "Very close, she possessed a beautiful doll and took the physical attributes of it. Thus their species was called the Doll Haunt. Other species of haunts would be possessed on different objects, aren't they intriguing?" He laughed.

"Have you used a sword before? Like Larping or cosplay, is that what they're called I don't know?" The tall guy shrugged, readied for the other trainee to go at him. "You don't need to hold back, I would be fine with the wards even my shield breaks." Ace winked, telling Mimi to relax a bit. "Your first spar?"

"That's not bad for the first time, it would be better if you keep looking at your target to lower the chance to miss." He commented, a small tease as the girl not keeping an eye on him when she swung her sword. "Have you heard of Annabelle? I think it's similar thing - er - Catherine says her body is much prettier." Ace tossed his braid onto his back, "I heard that there're golems for hosting weapon, she said she would call you to see her beautiful face when time comes."

Ace wasn't into cosplaying, but one of his girlfriends did. She would drag him to con, dress him up into different characters. He didn't mind that at all, it wasn't troublesome and he did have fun. "You can say I do, barely. Sa-ya-ka, is that the name of the character? A knight I guess?" He felt their eyes were charming when they were talking to things they like, Mimi's eyes lit up with dim sparkles. <My eyes are sparkly too ♡> I'm pretty sure my lady's eyes are super stunning.

Her scythe body hummed low after his next strike, "This look is more of my personal taste though." That was his fighting style, take it easy and talk with his partner.

Ace was an easy-going person and Mimi's exaggerated reactions amused him.

"What I heard was their student form. I don't know what they meant, but in some lectures, they said the weapons nowadays are mainly students volunteered or being caught, from a school called Amityville." He elaborated on what he knew and shortly added, "Since it's the closest to our base maybe? We have portal opened directly to the periphery of that school." The tall guy shrugged, he just heard of it but not knowing it. There was a difference between the two.

The squeal, however, made him winced. He nearly forgot how girls love to scream when they're super excited. <I don't scream ♡> "Witches. Sounds like a tough responsibility." <Witches, some of them are awful ♥> Ace watched as Mimi cheerfully brandishing her sword, he guesses she was imitating the character she mentioned, thus he nodded with a gentle smile.

If he was resting, when he pulled the scythe to the middle, one would know he never let his defense down for a moment. Still, the momentum of the sword slashing damaged his shield. Catherine cooed and reported the status of their shield. "Thanks, most people don't appreciate my taste, I'm glad you do." Ace smirked.

Expressions kept on changing, Mimi seemed to be in a train of thoughts so he gave her a reminder. "Ready to take your first charge attack?" He suddenly slid back with an easy hop, taking the bottom of the scythe's shaft with both hands. A twist of his waist, the scythe was sent out like a boomerang. "Try to push it back, your sword would help to absorb part of the impact the swirling caused." He yelled from a distance, this charge worked best in long ranged battle, it was also why he had to gain a distance before he swung it out.

"Then you can take the time when I wait for it to return and take advantage of my armless stage to lunge at me."
