It hadn't been more than twenty-four hours since the startling realization that their lives were really lies told to them from young ages. Odette took the news rather rough, hardening herself and trying not to show any sign of weakness throughout the entire ordeal. Her sadness and confusion turned into anger quickly.
Evesi, on the other hand, had no trouble letting go her emotional blockade and let loose tears that had been bottled up for years and years. All of that time, trying to stay so strong for her friend, only to come crumble down in a mess around her.
"We need to go." Odette said, heated by what had happened to her in adolescence.
"W-what!? We can't just leave. We have school. We have our home back, Odette. Don't you see?" Evesi tried to convince.
"No, we have to go. I have to go. If you don't want to come with me, fine. But I'm leaving. I need time to clear my head." the pink haired Orderite stated, charging out of the room in a tizzy.
"Odette! Wait!" the tear ridden Orderite cried as she chased after her friend.
It took a total of ten minutes to get out of the city. The pink wings carrying so much weight, figuratively speaking. With clenched fists, the Orderite felt tears streaming down her face and falling back behind. Her pink hair fluttered in the wind behind her. Such a tragic tale for a girl so young. Her green eyes filled with such pain and sorrow from a childhood lost.
The same went for Evesi, who followed behind as quickly as she could. She knew that Odette wouldn't be able to live out in the wilderness alone. The two needed each other. They completed each other. They were always there for one another. It was just the way of life for the two girls. Always having each other's backs whenever there was a problem that just one of them couldn't handle alone.
Finally, the two came to a halt. Odette bent low to the ground, sobbing. Evesi came to her side, clenched her, and held her tight. "It'll be alright." she said, tears also flowing down her face as well. Being the older of the two, she felt that she needed to be stronger for the both of them, even though it was Odette who was generally the stronger, emotionally, of the two of them.
They sat under the fading sun for hours. Finally, the crying stopped, they were just there, the two of them together, holding each other. That's all they had in that moment. Until a few Ysali came, that is.
From all corners, they were surrounded. Three Ysali, vines following after them. The two Orderites stood their ground. Odette pulled from her pocket, the circular object of her affection and with a slight flick, three winged blades showed themselves.
Evesi grabbed her staff from her back and lit the place up with light, blinding the Ysali around quickly and momentarily.
It was in that time that Odette decided to strike. She flung her chakram at the first opponent, slicing into it's side before flying back to return to it's owner's hand. With narrowed eyes, Odette threw it once again at the same target, but as she did so, was struck by a vine to the face, gashing it open. The chakram returned to a bleeding owner. Sharp leaves came falling from the tree, which were hit away by Evesi's staff.
A look of determination fell upon both girl's faces. They were going to win. Evesi used what light magic she knew to blast one of the Ysali back as Odette threw her spinning weapon at the nearest dragon, slicing into it's neck this time. After a few moments, the dragon began to disintegrate into dust, leaving behind nothing but a dragon soul.
Two left.
The girls looked at each other and decided to each take one. The one that had been blast back, Evesi continued on, blinding, poking, prodding, trying everything in her power to bash the Ysali to death. Whereas Odette continued to throw her chakram, slicing and cutting up her opponent. Finally, finishing it off with one quick slice as the circular weapon made it's way back into Odette's hands, she jumped forward, cutting the throat as she did.
Both dragons were dust within a moments time.
"Th-that...was...crazy." Evesi stated, bent over trying to catch her breath once more.
Odette had a smirk on her face, it was as if the dragons coming completely changed her mood. Everything seemed to feel better; and she wanted more. She needed more. Battling was soothing for her and in that moment, she realized it and decided that it was a necessity now. She became rather blood thirsty at that very moment. She took all that anger, all that pain, and transformed it into a burning rage, satiated by blood.
"It was amazing. That rush." she said.
"Oh! Odette. Come here. You're bleeding." she said, producing some healing magic in her hand.
Odette wiped her face. Blood was everywhere. "I'm fine." she said, wiping the blood on her pant leg.
Evesi rolled her eyes and placed her hand on Odette's wounded eye. The healing took place immediately. The throbbing stopped, the pain lifted, but what was left was a ghastly looking scar across her eye. When the blood was cleaned off, the scar was slightly visible. The Orderite enjoyed it. A battle wound to remember this encounter by; one that would remind her of her newfound love of the battlefield.
Odette then began to speak. "Eve, lets take a trip. To the other continent of Eowyn. Lets get on a ferry and go. I need to get away, see the world a bit, see what the world has to offer us. I can't take it. We need to get off of Serenia. There are too many bad memories here for me. Please, can we?"
Evesi looked at her friend in concern. Sure, the battle with the Ysali had instantly changed her state of mind; but the two needed time and Evesi was uncertain as to how leaving Serenia would help them. "Wh-what? That's not going to do anything for anyone. Going to Eowyn is a mistake. I've learned that it's so dry there. We would have to take provisions for as long as we wished to be there, which could cost us in gold and energy; having to carry it all. We-" she started, but was cut off.
"Please Evesi. I don't care about any of that. Serenia is just a painful place right now. I just need some time to clear my head and be away a while." Odette said, looking up at Evesi with sincere, needy eyes.
Evesi looked away towards the sea a moment and began to tap her foot on the floor. Her gaze coming back to meet her friend's, she rolled her eyes and shrugged. "Fine, lets do it." she said.
Instantaneously, Odette's face lit up as bright as the sun. "Oh! Thank you, Eve! Thank you!" she said, throwing her arms around Evesi's neck and giving her a kiss on the cheek. She knew that this was going to be the best adventure the two had ever taken together, ever.~~~~~ It was another week before the two found themselves on the coast of Eowyn. The breeze from the ocean was causing the cost to be cool and much more moist, but it was well known that as one ventured deeper into Eowyn, the land took many victims by the extremely hot, dry climate. It wasn't long before the two Orderites who so bravely ventured to Eowyn were completely tired and already wished to head back to the shore.
"I can't believe I let you drag me out here." Evesi stated curtly.
"It's really not that bad. Just drink some of our water." the leader of the pack, Odette, stated as she continued to push forward through the desert sands.
In the distance, Odette noticed a couple little animals running full speed ahead, and the only reason she could tell was because of the dust cloud that followed. "E-Eve...we...need to go." Odette stated, stopping in her tracks. "NOW!" she yelled, turning around and running as fast as she could back to the shore.
Finally, Evesi noticed what the fuss was all about. Her eyes widened and she turned, following after Odette with no hesitation.
Little did that do, as the two "animals" turned out to be Kiandri dragons. One of them went around and jumped in front of the two little angelic beings, forcing them to stop dead in their tracks.
Lightning flickered off of their bodies. Both Evesi and Odette stood back to back as the two closed in, snapping their jaws and causing small bits of electricity to fly into the air with every movement. Odette readied her ring blade, holding it out in front of her, narrowing her eyes at her target. Evesi on the other hand, shakily brought her staff to the front, light glowing within it's bulbed end.
"Stand your ground, Eve. We can take 'em." the feisty Orderite stated, slowly crouching, preparing for a battle.
Evesi did as she was told; but not being of battler blood, she was much more frightened by the concept of Kiandri than her companion. The battle was about to begin.

"Evesi!" the younger Orderite called to her comrade. She was pinned down, holding the dragon by the throat with her weapon. An ambient noise could be heard as a bright light shown quickly. With a quick blast of light, and a whimper from the Kiandri, the dragon flew back a few feet.
As the two were fighting with the two dragons before them, they realized that a few more were approaching as well. It was as if the two had called them for backup. Unluckily for them, there were about to be five Kiandri all within thirty feet of the poor, unfortunate Orderites.
With a few flings of her ring blade, there was one dead Kiandri on the ground. Two others began to call upon lightning, throwing shockwaves towards both girls. One shocked Evesi to the point of her falling over. The other missed Odette by a literal inch. A quick toss of her ring blade again and it cut right through the throat of one of the Kiandri, which turned to dust moments later.
Evesi had almost fallen unconscious, but was brought back with Odette's screams. She quickly tried to heal her own wounds, and got up, only to blast off another direct shot of light at the Kiandri causing issue for Odette.
Getting up, Odette took a quick moment to catch her breath. She then tossed her ring blade straight at the few Kiandri, slicing one of their legs. In retaliation, the rest all sent off a shockwave towards Odette, which she was unable to dodge. The shock pulsed through her body with excruciating pain. She fell to the ground and Evesi stood over her, blasting balls of light towards all of the Kiandri left. Odette allowed her head to lay on the dry sands of Eowyn, trying to watch her friend Evesi take out the leftover Kiandri. Blurry vision overtook her sight and soon, she fell unconscious.
~~~~~~~~~~
"Odette!? Odette!" called a voice from the void. Odette could hear the voice of a woman calling out to her. It wasn't necessarily a soothing voice, but it was familiar.
After a few moments, Odette opened her eyes. The void had ceased to exist.
"Odette! I am so happy to see you're alright." she said, slowly setting up her friend and wrapping her arms around her.
"Wh-what happened?" the Orderite asked curiously, head pounding with pain.
"You were shocked. I thought you were dead, but luckily I was able to run them off." she began. "When I realized you weren't dead, I tried to carry you to a safe place. So we're actually on the beach now. You've been out for a good few hours. I was healing your other wounds in the meantime." Evesi stated, relief could be heard in her voice.
Odette continued to sit, rubbing her temples as the throbbing continued. Aches and pains began to set in. There were no shock burns on her skin, thanks to her companion, but the inside pain still lingered a bit.
"Thank you...Evesi. You've always proven to me that you have my back. You've saved my life, yet again." she said, a smile creeping upon her face.
Evesi just nodded and smiled back. "I'm just glad you're alright. I don't know where I'd be without you in my life, little sister." she stated.
Odette smiled and laid back down a moment, looking up at the stars in the sky. "We've definitely had a momentous trip, huh? Wow...and at the end of the day, what do we even have to show for it? I almost died...you could have very well died as well. Why do I always get us into things like this?" she asked, to nobody in particular.
"Don't, this wasn't your fault. I agreed to go on a trip with you. We should focus on the fact that we're both safe now, and learn from the experience. Here, I was even able to pick these up after I realized we were safe." she said with a smile, holding out a few little gems that she had gathered after she chased away the Kiandri.
"Orbs!? Oh yes-ow!" Odette exclaimed with excitement, bringing it back down when she realized it was hurting her head. She took her share of the orbs and smiled. "Thank you, Eve. Thank you for everything."
"You're very welcome, and I'm glad you're alright. I'm glad we both are." she stated. "Now how about we wait for the ferry to take us back? I'm exhausted and we need a good rest in our beds. I'm done adventuring for one month. I just want to go back to my healing classes. But hey, one bonus out of this is that I was able to use what I've learned in the field! I'll definitely have to tell the professor about this experience!" she finished.
With that, the two sat on the Eowyn beach for another few hours until the ferry was able to come. They boarded, and off to Serenia they went, not to return to Eowyn for a while more.
