 Lunaria, a wolf/Alaskan Malamute mix, was in a kennel at the ASPCA Shelter. She was laying with her favorite toy as she rested on the dog bed inside of her kennel. She was about 3 months old and had been in foster care all this time. She wasn't used to being in the shelter and was scared of the other dogs who were bigger that she was. She was great with other animals but some more than others. She was amazing with small dogs like Dachshunds, Chihuahuas and Shetland Sheep dogs. But she seemed more shy around bigger dogs. Lunaria came from a breeder who had 50 other wolf dog breeds. Her mother was killed by the owner from being beaten to death for having puppies die. Lunaria was lucky enough to survive since she was hiding from the owner when her mother was killed. She didn't see anything luckily but the damage was already done. When the dog's started barking at someone looking at them, she jumped and started hiding under her blanket. Her papers that explained her past and everything about her were hanging on the door of her kennel so people could read about her if they showed interest in her.

  Michael and his daughter, Anna, walked into the shelter looking for a family dog. Michael asked to take look at the kennels. When the worker said yes Michael lead Anna to the back and let her look around at all the dogs. She smiled brightly as she looked at all the choices. She had no idea which one she would want until she caught sight of Lunaria out of the corner of her eye. She quickly went over to the cage and sat down in front of it. "Ooo she's pretty" The little girl said as her father walked over and looked at the papers. "Hmm I suppose we could get this one" He said then looked down at Lunaria. "How would you like to come home with us?"

Lunaria perked her little ears a bit as Micheal spoke to her. Then she saw Anna smiling and her tail began to wag slightly. Lunaria was a bit spooked by all that was happening but this family seemed nice enough. She went up to the kennel door and sniffed at Anna before licking the little girl's hand gently. She would get really big one day but for now, it was hard to imagine with her also being a runt. She was the only surviving pup of her litter so she didn't have a mommy or siblings to play with anymore, so Anna being little was a welcomed sight. The worker then came over smiling and opened the kennel, picked up Lunaria, and gave her to Anna saying "She's very sweet once you get to know her, so take really good care of her." She was amazed that Lunaria had even come up to Anna to sniff at her. Lunaria then licked Anna's chin with a wagging tail before letting out a squeaky puppy bark as if to say 'We go home now?'

Anna smiled as Lunaria licked her hand. "Aww" She said as Michael smiled and thanked the worker for letting Lunaria out of the kennel. "I will, I'll take really good care of her" Anna said excitedly at the worker as she took Lunaria in her arms. Anna then giggled as she licked her chin. Michael smiled a bit as he looked down at the two. "Alright it's time to go now" He said then the two started walking to the car where Anna got in the back seat and sat Lunaria down next to her so she could pet her as they drove home.

Lunaria's tail was wagging really fast as Anna pet her the entire ride home. She liked Anna a lot because Anna was really nice to her. Being a puppy, she would need some training. Though she was already housebroken, she would have a few accidents here and there but nothing to get upset about. Once they got home, Lunaria was amazed at the size of the house she was going to live in. She was on a leash so she couldn't go far, but she managed to do her business outside in the pine straw before she went inside. Her fluffy fur made her really cute but the one thing that no one could say no to were her icy blue eyes and the moon shape on her flank which only made her extremely adorable.

Michael made sure to take Lunaria out on the leash quickly to do her business before letting her back inside. "Welcome to your new home girl" He said as he brought her inside and took the leash off. He quickly grabbed the collar they had gotten before hand and put it lightly around her neck. Just then Anna ran into the room and looked down at Lunaria. "Come on Lunaria lets go see my room" She said then started leading her to the room.

Lunaria followed Anna into her room. Seeing all of the stuffed animals scared her a little bit but then she went up to a giant teddy bear, sniffed it and started barking at it before darting away from it trying to be cute since she wanted to show them what she would be like.

Anna giggled seeing Lunaria run away from the teddy bear. "Don't worry Lunaria. Teddy is just a big soft friend" She said as she went over to the bear, which was bigger than as she was if it stood straight up, and hugged it. "See he don't hurt" She said then struggled a bit to pull it closer to Lunaria.

Lunaria stopped barking and came up to the large teddy bear tilting her head not having seen a toy so big before. Her tail started wagging as she sniffed at the bear as it had just shocked her nose before and that was why she was barking at him. But she loved that teddy bear now as she was now snuggling up to it rolling onto her back as she loved the feel of the bear's plush fur on her own. She started rubbing her body against it though before long, she started getting hungry. It was almost her dinner time as she was used to eating around 5:30 at night and early in the morning at about 6 am. She hoped that her new family would love having her around as she was starting to like Ana very much. Anna was Lunaria's human and Lunaria really wanted to grow up with Anna.

Anna giggled seeing Lunaria warm up to the teddy bear so fast. "See i told you you'd like it" She said then heard Michael's voice. "Anna time for dinner! Bring Lunaria down too!" He called out to her. "Hear that girl t's time to eat. Are you hungry?" She asked as she let go of the bear and started down the stairs.

Lunaria followed Anna downstairs. Her little legs made her a bit slower as she went down stairs for the first time in her life. She managed though before she ran to catch up with Anna and sat next to her girl on the floor panting a bit since she had been running to catch up.

Anna smiled as she got to the kitchen table and sat down for dinner. Michael sat her plate and his own on the table then brought a small bowl of dog food over to Lunaria. "There you go eat up" He said with a smile as he petted the top of her head lightly the went to sit at the table as well.

Lunaria wagged her tail as her head was pet. Then she began to eat her food happily once she saw them starting to eat. Being a puppy, she would need to be trained and it was good that she was not food aggressive despite her past.

As they finished eating Michael put his and Anna's plates away then went over to Lunaria with the leash. He hooked her on to it then started towards the door. "Come on Lunaria lets go outside" He said as he pulled her along hoping that she would do her business quickly and they could go in for the night. Anna meanwhile went back up to her room.

Lunaria followed Micheal outside and did her business quickly as it was looking and smelling like rain. She made sure to go number one and two before going back inside. Well more like ran, when she heard the thunder and saw the lightning. She whimpered, shaking once she was back inside and her heart was pounding. She was so small that the thunder scared her. She was so scared that it caused her to have panic attacks. She then started crying as only a wolf can wanting her mommy and her blanket from the ASPCA which was given to Micheal when he signed the papers.
