”Well, so. Um.” Votzhem attempted to dodge, readying himself for a strike of his own. ”If I like someone, and shes not an Alkidike, what do I do?” Well, s**t. He was just going to go out and say it, wasn't he. But he knew that, of some of the others he knew, Bhima was the one most likely to give him an answer without emotionally skewering him.
His dodge was a bust, but he made the best of it, managing to get in one hit. One. He was pretty sure that was going to be the only successful strike this fight, and he decided to treasure it.

"You know my girl isn't a sister, don't you?" she asked. Maybe he hadn't. "What you do is you court her and love her and everyone else can mind their own business." That was her opinion anyway.

Bhima let her arms slowly drop. Oh, the poor kid. She sighed and shook her head.
"No, there's no difference," she reassured him. "Hybrids are proof that loyalty to Aisha is rewarded regardless of race. She granted you life, why would she disapprove of it then? If you are loyal to Aisha, if you love her as you love your.. girlfriend." She gestured to one side, her blade still in her hand. "So I wouldn't worry. Love is love is love, and Aisha won't abandon you because you hold less prejudice than others." She wanted to mention that Aisha said nothing on the war between Shifters and Alkidikes, but people had opposing opinions there. A smirk lit up on her face then. "Why? What race is she?"

It was a stupid kind of relief that Votzhem felt as Bhima told him what he realized, in a sense, he had known all along. He had been fretting over nothing, and he felt superiority stupid. ”Yeah.” he said, ”I suppose... you're right there.. Heh.” he took advantage of the break to move his hair our of his face, ”Iroia... she's Leaf. She's beautiful, and fierce, and...” he smiled. Bhima didn't know as much about his... troubles... as Kaalnia did, but she knew enough to know the history behind the evident joy on his face when he said: ”And I think she may... appreciate me... ” He gave her an almost shy smile, very unlike his usual, gruff persona. ”It's nice to be appreciated for once, you know?”

A slow smile crept across Bhima's face. It was a knowing smile. Clearly he was fond of this woman, and for once she could relate. She was older now, an adult, and Hijil was back. She knew that joy that crossed Votzhem's features.
"Yes," she nodded. "I wish you the best of luck, and if you ever need to talk I haven't moved far, just east out into the woods." She gestured in the direction of home, then readied her blades again. "Come on, let's start again." She would go easy on the poor guy. Being pummeled wasn't training, it was hubris. She wanted to help, not hurt.
