Kiki was a front. A princess in a play. The real girl underneath was nothing like the part she played. But life was easier this way. So much easier.
Kitty Peterson was a girl who was shy, insecure, and awkward. Thick, wavy hair of a copper colour, thick glasses, and eyelashes of a light colour that made her eyes look smaller than they really were. But with her hair dyed and straightened, her contacts in place and her mascara thick? She was a new girl.
Kiki was a Princess that shattered what Princesses were supposed to be. ******** kindness, ******** being a push over; too scared to speak her mind. Of course Kitty had mean thoughts and of course she was critical and pessimistic. But when she was Kitty, she could not voice herself. She hadn't the courage to stand up for herself, nor the nerve to deal with other people.
As Kiki, she could be mean. She could be nasty. She could be selfish and proud.
Kiki is a part she plays. And when she is alone, she is just Kitty; a shy girl, smiling a solitary and awkward smile as she writes down all of the things she saw and did that day. All in a sparkly journal fit for a spoiled Princess.
A princess with a Prince. Ah~ she had a prince. She never had to meet him, nor touch him. Never had to deal with facing him and possibly ******** up a proper meeting. No rejection and no insecurity. She could play make believe as she wrote his name over and over on a page in different glittery inks. Cover the page in stickers of crowns and ribbons.
To the world she was the spoiled Princess Kiki. Alone, she could be the shy and awkward girl named Kitty Peterson.
