The aura stank in her mouth like rancid flesh, and Astrophyllite bit her tongue against gagging. It was a corrupt senshi for sure, which made her all but certain it was the person she'd been sent to meet. If the signature was this bad from far away, then what would it be like when he was closer? She wanted to leave. She wanted to go home and brush her teeth until she didn't feel like there were pieces of skin clinging to her molars anymore - but abandoning a training exercise would look terrible, and she couldn't do that. Not... not when she was already on the rocks.
She forced herself to swallow down the bile in her throat and turned towards the source of the aura. What kind of senshi could project something so rancid? Most senshi felt sweet to her, even the corrupt ones. Usually, the corrupt ones were the most pleasant of all! True, their darkness called to her darkness, and she did feel that here but...
How was she going to train with someone if all she wanted to do right now was vomit?
Astrophyllite rung her hands together anxiously, waiting for the senshi to appear. This all seemed to be turning out very, very bad already.

Meetings were so trivial. Adonis almost didn't come, but he'd been so bored lately that he thought he'd see if whoever it was he was meeting could hold his interest. Unlike Astrophyllite, he didn't have that keen of an aura sensing yet. Yet being the word there. He was still honing, trying to figure out who was who without really knowing many. He'd been gone for a bit and so people had changed. Sides, bits in their personalities, how they viewed him...
None of it was good.
The corrupt senshi just bounded towards the meeting place, leather skirt causing flapping noises around him while his hair whipped out, threatening to smack anyone who came near. When he got there, he looked down and saw a woman and he knew he had the right spot. She was the pulling aura he felt. So he landed with a soft noise of shoes meeting the surface, pointed and curled toes first. His skirt, overlay, and hair whooshed around him and then settled, thumping. One draw back to all leather was the fact it was noisy. But it did make him look damn good.
Astrophyllite took a step back as the senshi appeared, and she curtseyed to him in an effort to be polite and not let on that your presence makes me want to vomit. "Evening," she said shakily, looking him over. She was used to pretty senshi, not that he wasn't fine of face, but he was also...
Well, the SAT word that came to mind was grotesque. She'd been expecting that someone with the name Adonis would be more pleasing to look upon, but he just made her think of scary movies and, like, torture dens in sub-basements. "Y-you're Sailor Adonis?" she asked, praying that she might be wrong, that he might just be passing through and not the person she was meant to train with.
"I'm Captain Astrophyllite," she said, still hoping that he might do something, anything, to indicate that this was a mistaken meeting. Close-up, the rotting flesh feeling was even worse. There was skin clinging to her teeth. Maggots crawling over her hands. She wanted to be anywhere but here. "We should train with weapons and powers, shouldn't we? Like a real fight?"

The way she was looking at him only served to plaster a fake at-ease look on his face. Well, that was the first time he'd gotten this reaction. He was offended! His pale eyes narrowed at her curtsy before he just nodded to her question of who he was.
"I am Sailor Adonis." Let's see that face crumble with that answer. It was bound to happen with the way she was sort of leaning away from him. Whatever. He pushed hand through his face and just continued to listen to her. Captain. So they were basically the same rank. Had Adonis been a Negaverse agent, he would be Captain by now. "Super Sailor Adonis, actually. Your equal." He raised his head a bit more laughed.
"A real fight she says!" His left hand went to his hip, bent at the waist, and then held up his right in front of him, pointing in a lazy manner. "An introduction and not even any small talk? Interesting... You want to hurry up and fight for some reason." He straightened himself and struck a defensive position, hands in front of him, a grin on his face. "Let's fight then, Astrophyllite!"
She tried not to let her disappointment show, but her concentration on not gagging won out over everything else and Astrophyllite could only do so many things at once. "I'm sorry, I'd - imagined you differently?" She could already tell that she'd offended him - would she offend him even more if she told him that he felt like rotting flesh? Would he even understand what she was talking about? Everyone could sense auras, but she'd come to understand that not everyone could sense auras the way she could.
"Of course, Super Sailor Adonis," she repeated, despairing. "I didn't mean - I meant no offense." Oh, damn. She'd ruined this! And it wasn't her fault, she couldn't control his aura, but it also sort of was.
"No, I'm not in a hurry!" she replied, flustered, and called her club to hand. She wouldn't try to hit as hard, but she should still move just as fast, shouldn't she? Unfortunately, her training had been sort of light on the combat side of things. "I'm sorry - did you want to talk more?" she continued, taking a step back and setting her feet. "I just-"
She was going to do it. She was going to come clean. "Your aura feels like rotting flesh. I'm sorry. It's not your fault, I'm sure you're really nice! But sensing you makes me feel sick."

Astrophyllite called forth her club and it made Adonis half chuckle. Pushing a gloved hand through his bangs, he shook his head once more. Honestly.
"You've already called your weapon. It's a fight." Adonis moved into a defensive position, eyes narrowing on her as she continued to talk, even though she'd taken a step back. Interesting, interesting. His head canted to the side at her confession and it flustered him.
Rotting flesh? There had to be some sort of mistake. Adonis's face warped into a snarl and he felt his fingers twitch. "Well that's one I've never heard before." They say his aura was strong, but not rotting flesh. It was offensive and at the same time it made sense. He was the senshi of skin. A corrupt senshi at that. They were already rotting in a way different from everyone else. "Enough talk."
And with that, he took one step toward her before rushing. Instead of swinging a fist, he extended his hand, claws out, aiming to rip at whatever flesh he could.
Astrophyllite saw the way his face contorted into a snarl and wished she'd never said anything at all. She could have gotten away from this relatively unscathed. Perhaps she could have gotten away on decent terms with Adonis and never have to fight him again! But now she'd gone and offended him and he was going to hate her forever. This fight was supposed to just be for training - but was it still?
She turned as he lashed out, raising an arm and letting his claws catch in the thick weave of her coat. The fabric snagged but didn't rip, and Astrophyllite felt the force of the blow but none of the cutting intent. She backed away, her club raised. "It's just sparring, right?" she asked, voice high and tight in her throat. It was supposed to just be sparring!
Still, he'd rushed at her and he was still close. She swung her club - it was meant to be defensive, to make a perimeter around herself, but maybe - maybe it would hit.

Like falling stars the two potion bottles fell from the sky, unhurriedly as if the wind bore them with a gentleness un-befitting of gravity. They could have come from anywhere, dropped by a bird, high kicked over a fence - either way the bottles sailed through the sky to drop into an open trash can far behind the two fighting Soldiers. Only time would tell if they had noticed, only time would tell if they could find them.

Out of the corner of his eye did Adonis realize something was glowing. He grunted a little and then cackled. "Oh, honey, honey. Sparing is just a battle between two on the same side!"
And then her club came out of no where and hit him square int he jaw as he tried to keep on her, keep her backing up and off balance. He flung his head to the side and then the rest of his body went went him. OW! His hand came to his jaw and rubbed before he hissed through his teeth.
"Damn it!" Okay, that was painful. He had to steer clear of her and that stupid club one way or another. He worked his jaw as he straightened himself back up, feeling his back crack a few times as he stared at her with an annoyed expression. "Well. That's more like it." He was more annoyed with himself than her. He should have seen that coming.

Astrophyllite was nearly certain that that was not the definition of sparring, and if it was, then she didn't like it one bit. Sparring was supposed to be, like, lighter and softer than a real fight! They weren't supposed to be trying to hurt each other, which was why she definitely winced like super badly when her club connected. She'd meant to ward him off, not break his face!
"Oh my god," whispered Astrophyllite, watching him stand up. He straightened up like he was okay, but she was concerned. "Your jaw - your teeth? Are you okay?"
He would probably be really pissed at her if she'd knocked out one of his teeth, so she hoped she hadn't gone and done something like that. "Are we - are we going to keep going?" she asked anxiously, taking a step back. She didn't - she didn't want to. She just wanted to leave and be done with his rank aura.
He just rubbed his jaw and then put his fingers in his mouth to see if he was bleeding. No he couldn't taste blood, but it could have just not hit his tongue yet. When his fingers came back damp but not bloody, Adonis sighed a bit and worked his jaw. "I'm fine. I'm fine! Don't worry about me." He waved his hand a bit and just gave her something of a grin. He was relaxing a bit. Meaning they were probably done because he could see how flighty she was being about this whole situation. She'd never make a good force to be reckoned with if she ran away.
"I'd rather you didn't leave, but I guess your objective is fulfilled." He eyed her slowly and just shrugged. "I'm still willing to go if you are." He flashed her another grin and stepped closer to her. How would she react to an intimidating approach but no real threat of harm otherwise? "You need to be trained. At this rate you'll run away from everything or end up dead within another month."
Such confidence he had in her!

Astrophyllite tightened her grip on her club. "That's what Bischofite said," she said, forcing steel into her voice. "He said I'd never make it. He said I was weak and useless and I showed him. I lived. I've lived like this for a whole year and I don't need some jerk who smells like rotten hamburger meat telling me that I won't live another month."
She'd outlived Bischofite, she thought, and she'd outlived Avalon and she'd outlived a lot of people who were stronger and smarter than her and maybe it was dumb luck, but maybe - maybe Zinkenite had chosen her for a reason. Or maybe it didn't have anything to do with Zinkenite at all, or the Negaverse. Maybe she was alive because she was a fighter, and she was supposed to be alive. It would have been easy to stay down in the rift and die - but she hadn't.
She took a few quick steps towards Adonis, club swinging high. "You face needs to be trained!"
Bischofite? Interesting. Adonis's pale eyes flashed with a confused look and he just listened to her anger starting to boil over. Good. Provoking her worked. She came at him, club swinging, and he managed to flip back before it connected with his face. Instead it connected with his calves as he flipped, whacking him with through his boot. The sound of the club on leather was amazing and probably sounded worse than it actually was. Still, it did hurt. And it knocked him off balance and the lanky teen ended up bouncing and skidding across the ground beneath him and he came to land on his back. With a groan, Adonis picked himself up. No time to be slacking, especially if she was mad. She was a Captain after all.
He winced as he headed toward her, racing as fast as he could, fist swinging low, aiming for her stomach, wanting to wind her out. He'd probably get clubbed again. A chance he was willing to calculate.

Her club struck true, and Astrophyllite grinned at the sound. That would teach him to underestimate her. Maybe now he'd see what he was dealing with - she was strong and she could fight, she'd tamed youma in the rift and she was strong enough to make him respect her.
And then he punched her in the stomach. Astrophyllite laughed as the wind rushed out of her, her insides stinging. She hadn't wanted to fight, but now that she was here, showing how rough and how strong she was, it felt good.
Her club was swinging and he'd managed to hop back a little bit to catch it with both of his hands. Yanking it out of her hands, he swung it at her, aiming for the place he just punched. "You think that can work on me?"
The good thing about Nega officers was that they often had weapons. If you got your hand on them, you had a weapon. Adonis just hoped she stayed down this time. Still, he pulled his punch, so to speak, didn't hit her as hard as he could. Sparing. He didn't want to break bone. Just knock her around enough to get some good experience in.
