What is the point of this, child? Why are we idling here when there is work to do in Metallia's name?
"Listen, you little monster," Kadyrelite muttered irritably, rubbing at the scar on her wrist. "I sent out a general request for someone to help me learn how to fight more effectively. We both know that it was only luck that knight chick didn't wipe the floor with me. You want me to further Metallia's glory? Then I gotta learn how to do more than throw lucky punches."
As she clung to the shadows, the lieutenant was never still. Twitching, fidgeting, pacing, the abandoned parking lot seemed a safe enough place for a bit of sparring practice. It was out of the way, no cameras or other surveillance that she'd been able to find and in enough of a state of disrepair that the local teens were unlikely to show up for illicit makeouts.
If they do, Strytha says we take their starseeds to prevent a spreading of their idiocy.
Snorting a laugh, Kadyrelite had one of her rare moments of sort of liking the little youma.
"We'll see. Now shush. I want to be able to see and hear and feel when whoever it is shows up."

He might not be every general's first pick, but Rutile was a new recruit and needed to be put in his place. He also needed to not be such a baby when it came to draining people. Yeah Rutile knew it didn't hurt, he still hadn't done it. He rubbed his piercing on his nose a bit as he landed with a light noise of boots on concrete at the meet up spot and just clicked his tongue a little. Well he was nervous and excited and wasn't really sure what to expect. All he was told was 'meet up with another lieutenant and don't mess it up'. Oops. His general was proooobably getting a bit antsy with him not doing his job, but hey! ..He'd only powered up a handful of times, okay. He looked around, dread locks swinging from side to side and just rubbed an arm. "Hello?" He thought he'd heard someone talking.. were there two? That wasn't in the memo at all.

The soft scrape of shoe against pavement caught Kadyrelite's attention a scant second before the soft call. Relaxing minutely, she moved just enough to let the edge of the guttering streetlight illuminate her.
They sent a child to school a child. Wonderful.
Shut up, Kadyrelite thought fiercely. Though Strytha did seem to have a point. This new officer couldn't be much stronger than herself. So... another lieutenant then? That wasn't so bad, really. If it made them both stronger in the long run...
Inclining her head slightly, she moved further into the light and stood with her arms crossed over her chest protectively.
"Hello yourself. I'm guessing you're here due to my request for a sparring partner?"

Child? At almost thirty Rutile was no child. He had no idea she thought this, of course, but he would have been offended if he did! Instead of worrying about things he had no idea about, Rutile felt out the direction of this other agent and then turned to look a hair before she spoke. His attention was focused on her now and he shrugged. "I guess it'd be that way. Rutile's the name. I'm.. learning how to do this." He motioned to himself and then pushed his bangs out of his face again, a nervous habit. His fiance wasn't with him so he had no way of really feeling at ease right away. "So I guess we just start?"

Girl and youma couldn't help but share a sigh when this.. Rutile admitted to still learning himself. The strangely sibilant echo coming from one throat seemed to ring in the empty air as Kadyrelite silently endured a round of Told You Sos from the youma.
But rather than worry Rutile or risk hurting his feelings with her doubts, she smiled brightly, silently and firmly told Strytha to shut the hell up.
"Well, pleased to meet you, Rutile. I'm Kadyrelite and i will be your sparring partner tonight."
Still smiling brightly, she heistated for half a breath before rushing towards the older man, deciding that right now, simply doing ,rather than thinking and worrying, would do the both of them more good than not. Her fingers curled into a tightly balled fist as she got closer, thinking to try and punch him in the soft flesh of the gut.

Kadyrelite. He pondered that for all of two seconds before he was rushed. Rutile's brain snapped to the present and with a snarl he backed himself up. But he wasn't quick enough and a firm punch landed on his stomach. He sucked in a breath and groaned heavily as he kept skidding backwards. Nope nope. That was way too quick. Rutile turned on his heel and sent his leg flying out at her if she kept rushing him. Instincts were coming back from his time on the street, in his gang. He had a street style of fighting more than anything else. "Little warning next time!"

Skipping back as Rutile's leg flew up and out, Kadyrelite flinched as it just caught her hip and unbalanced her. So he had some idea of how to fight. That was reassuring.
"Warning would negate the whole idea of just starting," she said with an impish innocence. "And as I've had demonstrated to me far too many times lately, the aliens aren't gonna give me a polite warning. They're just gonna attack."
So the girl can learn. Let's hope the other one can as well.
Doing her best to keep her face immobile, Kadyrelite wondered what Rutile's reaction would be if he knew she had a passenger.
If this match becomes too boring for Strytha, you may find out.

Damn, he missed. He wrinkled his nose and came at her at an alarming speed, fist swinging hard. He didn't want this fist to hit, but distract. He was going to end up punching with the other hand, trying to uppercut her. She didn't want to pull punches, neither would he. He'd go at this like his life depeneded on it. Who knew, maybe it did. A certain someone wouldn't enjoy the fact he was going to come home injured, but ah well. They walked a dangerous path.

Rutile's speed surprised the girl and that surprise was her undoing, she yelped as the fist caught her and staggered backwards. Shaking her head, she forced herself upright and gave the other lieutenant a nod. At least he hadn't connected with her ribs. Granted, they'd mostly healed, but one good blow would ruin all of that work.
You could resort to hair pulling. He certainly has enough.
"Oh jesus, no. Neither of us are catty hoes," Kadyrelite responded out loud without thinking. Then, realizing what she'd done, she grinned and started circling Rutile, looking for an opening.
"So I'm curious. You know how to fight. So what is it you're just startign to learn?"
Talk, distract, look for an opportunity. It was all she could do at the moment after he'd landed that blow.

Hot damn, he hadn't lost his touch. Rutile grinned wide to himself as he watched her back up so he couldn't land another hit. And now she was talking to herself. A pierced brow raised and he held his hands up in fists in front of himself, shifting his feet so they were apart and grounded. "....Who the hell is a catty hoe and it better not be me. I'm better than a hoe." Catty he was. any advantage, honestly. Then she started talking to him and those green eyes narrowed lightly before he scoffed. "Being this. A lieutenant. Draining." Short and sweet. What now?

"Neither of us. Which is somethign it needs to get through it's tiny monster brain."
Inspiration had struck. Rutile didn't know about Strytha. NOw, granted, Kadyrelite wasn't eager to advertise the youma's presence but it was just weird enough to give her a little bit of an advantage if you could use it properly.
Oh, Strytha sees how it is.
Grinning a little wildly, Kadyrelite continued to circle slowly, keeping well out of reach.
"Draining is easy. Taking a starseed, now that's a little harder. Maybe you just need the right teacher, dude."
Inside, she could feel Strytha's quick comprehension and amusement. Now that it knew what she was hoping for, it seemed agreeable enough to the general idea. Any advantage in a fight. Just let him give her the opening she needed.

He only heard about taking starseeds, he'd never seen it done. Rutile's eyes narrows further as the girl continued talking and he worked his jaw a little bit. Why was she talking and not fighting? Slowly those boot clad feet moved, circling her, sizing her up from head to toe. When was he going to strike? NOW. He charged forward again, swinging a leg to attempt a kick to her gut or side, depending on how she turned.

Only the fact that she'd already been moving saved Kadyrelite from worse injury as Rutile's foot connected almost squarely on her side, just under her ribs. Blanching as she felt the muscles around her ribs spasm in protest, he let out an angry hiss and felt Strytha's agreement. People aiming for her torso were getting old and annoying. Real fast.
It is not exactly a good time for Strytha, either, little one.
Forcing herself to keep moving, Kadyrelite glared poisonously at the older lieutenant.
"You know, it would be nice to do s**t like this just once without people aiming for my <******** busted ribs," she spat out, letting Strytha share her throat. As her voice magnified and echoed strangely at the last, she felt the youma move and steeled herself to show as little reaction as she could. She'd have preferred the more playful reveal to catch him off guard, but hey! This could work too.
She felt the flesh around her torso ripple and bulge as the little youma made it quite obvious that it was inside of her. Oh, she was going to hurt later...
Strytha is trying to be gentle, child.
Forcing herself forward in spite of the pain, Kadyrelite feinted as if she was going for the old groin kick standby. Let him think she was that stupid. When he moved to dodge or block, her other leg would sweep out to knock him off balance.
"Time to play," she hissed, Strytha still borrowing her voice and warping it.

"How am I supposed to know your ribs are busted!" He huffed as she growled and seemed to jam a microphone against her vocal cords. Was that part of her power? Rutile stopped completely and just watched her, eyeing her up and down closely. What the hell was Kady's problem? He bit down on the piercing on his lip and let it click against his teeth... At least until her chest moved. "OH s**t. There's an alien in your chest? I've seen this movie!" He wanted to get the hell out of here, save himself, but he was suddenly on his a** and back on the concrete and he hissed out in pain. He hadn't even seen her coming! What the ********, hell no. Nope!" He tried to get himself up with a back flip, wanting to flip as much distance between them. "I'm so out of here!"

Laughing with delight, Kadyrelite grinned as her ploy worked. Well, at least she'd gotten some of her own back. In her normal voice, she couldn't help but tease him further.
"Oh, I've seen that movie too. And I can assure you that Strytha is no alien. Say hello, Strytha."
"Hello, Rutile," came the croaking, hissing voice. Thankfully, the youma had curled back up into a small ball to give her aching ribs some relief. But the little monster's amusement was a soothing warmth inside as they both watched Rutile scramble and flip to get away as quickly as possible.
Unable to help herself, Kadyrelite followed after, doing her best puppy eyes routine.
"Oh, now that's just rude! We just want to be friends!"
There was no way she'd be able to catch him up, not with as sore as she was. Well, if he wanted to leave, he could. The next time she asked for a sparring partner, she'd have to remember to request him by name. If only for the expressions he was sure to make.
