Mission:Harassment

So I've noticed a rookie Team Flare grunt is going around Lumiose City trying to get people to join Team Flare. Apparently getting new recruits earns them big points and may even give them a pay increase. I say though we make this rookie's life hard. I want you to follow this rookie around Lumiose City and ruin their attempts at recruiting anyone. They will be using signs and recordings to advertise for Team Flare, and offer people things for joining. Your job is to follow them and either make them and Team Flare look bad, or simply convince people otherwise. Just do whatever it takes to make this rookie's life miserable, they deserves it.

Objective:
---Stop the rookie Team Flare Grunt from recruiting new members. Ruin their reputation in the process.

Opposition:
---They will probably attack you out of anger, but they are very weak. They will only have a Houndour and a Electrike but will probably flee and heal for future battles.

Pokemon:
---You can snag one of the grunt's Pokemon.

Rewards:
---3x Snag Coins and varies from there.

(Try making the grunt into a character that your own character will constantly run into in the future, make the grunt hate you and want revenge.)
----------------------------------------------------------------

Raelynd fidgeted in one of the many shadowy allies Lumious City had to offer. She hated waiting. It was her first mission as a member of Team Snagem, and it was so tedious that it had become irksome. Apparently her newest Pokemon, a Houndour by the name of Mutt, hated waiting as well. The pup whimpered and whined, squirming in its sitting position that she had told it to stay in.

"I'm thinking here! Hush, you!" She ordered with a glare. The small canine paid her no heed, though, and continued to whimper pitifully. The trainer sighed and cast her wary grey gaze across the street, where her target stood at the corner of a busy intersection. He was a ginger haired male in his mid to late teens, lanky, a bit scrawny, and wearing an absolutely horrendous safety-cone-orange suit. Quite frankly, even if she didn't have her mission, Rae would probably pick on this guy anyways for looking like such a dork.

"That might just be my personal opinion, though," She mumbled to herself, watching through the fluctuating crowd as the young man attempted to hand out some sort of flyer to anyone who had the misfortune of making eye contact with him. To her dismay, though, he seemed to be catching the attention of at least a few people. She turned and looked down at Mutt, who let out a shrill yelp to signify his impatience. Rae shook her head at the little guy, "I agree. If we don't do something soon, that goon may actually recruit someone into the Flare ranks!"

Rae hummed thoughtfully and pretended like her Pokemon could actually completely understand what she was saying. She just needed the right motivation to come up with a good way to foil the kid's schemes. Looking from the Flare grunt, to her Houndour, she found one. A wicked grin burst onto the previously blank slate of her face.

"Okay, Mutt," She began as she kneeled down to get near the same level as the Pokemon, "Why don't you go over to that nice, orange man over there, and show him your 'trick'." Rae mentioned, smirking when her hound's ears perked at the last word. The little dog looked over to their target, then back to her hesitantly. Rae gave him a reassuring grin and scratched his helmeted skull, "Don't worry, I'll be right behind you." She encouraged.

That was all the pup needed to hear before jumping up peppily and dashing off to do his trainer's bidding. Rae's upturned lips grew thinner as her grin grew, a knowing glint in her eye doubling the amount of amusement evident on her face. To hide it, she pulled her large, bright yellow hood up. It provided plenty of cover for her face as she walked out into the opn casually. She was quite a few paces behind her Pokemon, but that was just as she had planned. The scheming girl hid in plain sight as she walked amongst the civilians going about their everyday life, not even giving her a second glance. She kept her monotone eyes in the direction of the Flare grunt. By doing this she was able to watch as her pup strolled up beside him.

The grunt was so busy talking to a young woman, who was holding one of his flyers in her hands and listening to him while he explained it to her, that he failed to notice the dark fire type directly between them. Mutt sat his rump down at the target's feet. The Houndour put his nose straight into the air and opened his mouth up wide.

"Sucker~!" Rae sing-songed as her mutt pulled one of the greatest flaming, fake sneeze on the planet. The Flare member yelped in surprise as fire shot up between he and the woman he had been having a conversation with. As an added bonus, the flyer she had been holding just so happened to catch. Rae watched in content satisfaction as the girl screamed and threw the flaming paper to the ground. The Flare grunt cursed loudly and began stomping on the flames until nothing was left of the paper except for ashes and embers.

Many eyes quickly went to the scene, giving Rae the perfect opprotunity to complete her plan. She stood behind a particularly tall man and cupped her hands around her mouth, "That Houndour is a menace! You should learn to better control your Pokemon!" She yelled even as Mutt discreetly found his way back to her so that she could return him to his ball. The crowd gathering around the grunt didn't even notice the little Pokemon as their attention was fixated on the nervous reactions of the Flare grunt. Several voices rose up to agree with her, demanding that her unsuspecting victim take responsibility for his actions.

"N-no! That wasn't my Houndour!" He tried in vain to defend himself. Rae wasn't going to have any mercy on him.

"Yeah, right!" She called him out, "Everyone knows that Flare's keep Houndours on them! Stop tryin' ta Sneasel your way out of this!"

"I'm not! Wh-whatever! I'll just go someplace else, if it bothers you so much." The grunt snapped, looking around to see who had spoken out against him. Rae casually turned to the side, following some of the crowd as they left the area. She only went so far before she ducked into the hiding shade of a street vendor's poffin cart. Looking back, she could see the boy packing up a duffle bag of sorts and moving away to some other location to advertise his Team.

Not missing a beat, Rae tailed the guy a few yards back. She made sure to keep out of his line of vision as they walked don several streets until they were about five blocks away from where they had started. The area was a lot less crowded here, between a couple of outdoor markets that had long passed their rush hours. Rae watched as the grunt took from the black duffle a small, rectangular device. It had several buttons on it and what seemed to be a speaker. Lifting it up and out, her target pushed one of the buttons and what sounded a bit like elevator music immediately started playing.

"Do you want to live in a beautiful, better world? Are you tired of the injustice and cruelty that runs rampant in todays world? If so, then becoming a member of Team Flare may just be the job for you! We at T.F. headquarters treat our staff with the utmost...."

The voice was so peppy and annoying that Rae had to stop listening. She glared at the grunt from her hiding spot around the corner of a building, hating the little recording device spewing out propaganda from its position clipped onto the grunt's belt.

That was when another malicious plot popped into the girl's mind. Her mischievous grin returned as she once again called out her Pokemon. Grey eyes met dark brown as Rae looked down at her confused looking Houndour. She pointed passed her cover to the grunt.

"Play fetch?" She asked her pup, liking how excited his immediate reaction was, "Go get the talky thing!" With a bark of acknowledgement, Mutt was off in a flash. Rae peeked out from under her hood to watch in satisfaction as her Pokemon galloped towards the unsuspecting man. When the grunt noticed the dog, it was already too late. Mutt soared through the air and clamped his powerful jaws around the Flare member's belt, effectively cutting it and tearing it off of its fixed position around his pants.

"You!" The red-head roared as Mutt turned away with the belt and still blaring recording in his mouth. The grunt gave chase as Mutt made his way back to Rae, and the trainer was glad the Houndour had managed to get the whole belt, or else he may have been a lot faster without having to hold his pants up.

Rae backed into her hiding place before she was spotted, Pokeball ready when Mutt came around the corner. She snagged the belt and device from her Pokemon right before she recalled the canine to his quarters. Instantly she ran, going around the opposite side of the building. She went inside, noticing that she was in a bank of sorts, and looked around wildly for a restroom. People working at the bank stared at her as she ran through the tiled building and into the bathroom that was supposed to be off limits to the public.

"Are you going to tell her?" One of the teller ladies behind a counter guarded by plexiglas murmured to her coworker. The other woman shook her head.

"She seems like she really has to go." She replied as her eyes followed the hurried young girl head for the restrooms.

Inside one of the very clean stalls of the bathroom, Rae sat on the toilet with the lid down, breathing out a sigh of relief now that she had gotten out of sight from the grunt. But she had no time to rest, for her plan was still in motion. She looked down at the belt in her hands. It was severed on the side where Mutt had bit into it, but the recording device was still intact and clipped to the untouched end of the leather belt. The silvery device was still spewing nonsense and Rae clicked the power button to silence it.

"Okay, now. Lets see how this works..." She mumbled as she played around with the buttons. They all seemed pretty easy to understand, and Rae eventually found the one she was looking for. The recording button. Her smile of triumph returned sevenfold as her mind'd gears shifted.

She held down the red recording button and began speaking into the device, copying her own message over the previous one. After she was done, she let go of the button and clipped the device back onto the broken belt. Now all she had to do was plant the device back with her victim. Determined to do so, she head out of the building and circled back around the building to where the grunt had bee before.

To her utter pleasure, he was still between the markets and had resorted back to passing out flyers. Keeping out of his sight still, Rae looked around for a good way to get the device back to him without letting him know she had taken it. That was when she had spotted a little girl trotting down her side of he street by herself. Raelynd made haste to approach the child, trying her best not to look suspicious or menacing as she smiled.

"Excuse me, miss?" Rae asked, getting a startled look from the girl, "I'm sorry! I don't mean to scare you. I just wanted to know if you could take this to someone for me?" She held out the belt and device. The little girl looked from it to her, narrowing her eyes with distrust.

"Are you trying to rape me?" The child asked with a wary tone. Rae's eyes went wide as she shook her head.

"No! The guy is right there, see?" She quickly covered, pointing at the orange suited man, "I just don't want him to know its from me until later. Like a surprise." She exlplained. The girl's lips pursed and her cheeks puffed out, making her already plump baby like features exaggerate.

"Uh, well, okay!" The girl decided, and Rae smiled with a nod as she held out the belt. She was confused when instead of taking the items, the child simply held up an open palm, "For twenty bucks."

"What? Twenty bucks? He's right there!" Rae argued immediately. She was a stickler when it came to money, and it just didn't seem like a job worth that much.

"Thirty!" The girl exclaimed, rubbing her fingers together greedily.

"B-But-"

"Forty?" The little extortionist threatened, hands going to her hips and flipping back her brown locks.

"Fine, fine! Fourty bucks! Geesh, you little criminal." Rae muttered as she dugh into her belt pouch to get the money. She handed four bills to the girl, who squealed in delight as she took them and stuffed them into her pockets.

"Thank you very much!" She chimed as she took the belt from Rae, who was feeling as if she had just been victimized. The trainer only huffed and crossed her arms as she watched the child skip off towards the man. She wasn't close enough to hear the conversation, but Rae could see the surprised and confused expression on the grunt's face when he turned to the child tugging on his suit jacket. He took the belt from her, talking excitedly to the child before handing her a button of some sort as a means of gratitude. The girl looked down and scoffed at the item in her hand before skipping away.

"Now the fun begins again." Rae smirked, pulling her hood off and walking naturally towards the grunt's position. She could see the guy take the recording machine off of the belt, shoving the severed pants holder into the duffle. She had to use all of her willpower to keep the grin off of her lips as she strolled up beside him from behind, pretending to look curiously at the flier he held.

"Hello!" The Flare grunt greeted with a smile, holding out a flyer, "Have you heard of Team Flare before?"

"No," She lied, taking the flyer and getting a closer look at the cheesy graphics spattered across the paper, "Do you have any more information than this?" She asked with a slight smile.

"Ah! Actually, I do!" He replied enthusiastically, taking the machine he had shoved into his pocket out, "If you have a minute I can play this recording for you."

"Sure, I have the time I suppose." She said with a fake smile, glancing around and noticing several other people in the vicinity. Perfect.

"Alright, then, please listen closely." He mentioned cheerily as he pressed the play button. Too bad for him, that was a very bad mistake.

"Do you want to live in a beautiful, better world?" The grunt didn't seem to notice that the voice in the recording had changed, or that it had matched Rae's voice. She managed just barely to keep a look of amusement off her face as the next part of the recording boomed from the tiny speaker, "Then serve our lord Lysandre! Succumb to the dictatorship! Obey! Obey! All in opposition will be annihilated! LONG LIVE TEAM FLARE! Join now, or face the consequences! Freedom will not be toler-"

The grunt finally managed to shut off the recording after fumbling around with it in a panic for a bit. Rae put on her most disgusted expression and gasped falsely.

"I don't think I'm interested in that." She spat, shoving the flyer back into the boy's chest. She turned before he could get in a word edgewise and faced the stunned audience of passerbys that just so happened to hear the loud message as well, "I didn't realize Team Flare was such a disgusting organization!" She exclaimed as she began walking away briskly.

"Now, wait a moment!" She heard from behind, though she refused to turn around and continued on her way. She could hear shocked mumblings coming from the crowds, and only looked back to check and see how things were faring for her victim. He was standing in shock by himself with the recording machine in one hand, staring down at it angrily. The masses were giving him a wide berth as they avoided the Flare member.

Rae's smile of success faded quickly as the grunt's expression changed to one of leery awareness. She had to stoop quickly behind a group of school kids on their way home in order not to be seen by him as he looked in her direction. Her heart pounded as she wondered if the grunt had realized something and was looking for her. But when she next looked up, he was turned around and packing his things once again, ready to move to another location.

Rae paused for a moment before following the fellow. If he was onto her, then maybe she should high tail it out of there. But if she did that, then she'd be quitting. And she was no quitter. Nervously letting her breath escape her, Rae shadowed the grunt once again. Suspiciously enough, the grunt didn't look back once. He kept his eyes straight ahead and trooped on with his black duffle. Rae knew otherwise than to think he had let his guard down. In fact, she was sure that they were heading more and more into the scarser parts of town. The amount of people on the streets decreased dramatically, and they continued on until there was no one in sight and it was getting difficult for her to hide her presence.

"Smells like a trap..." She muttered way under her breath, her nervousness spiking when the grunt stopped in an empty alley. Her thoughts were confirmed when he whipped around and scanned the area. Luckily she was already hiding behind a rusting silver trashcan.

"Come out! I know you're there!" The kid's voice was tight with frustration and anger. Rae stayed hidden, not willing to show herself just yet, "And I know who you are! There's no use in hiding, little girl!"

Rae had to cover her mouth with both hands to keep herself from bursting out into laughter. Did this guy think that the little girl she had paid was the one who was messing with him?

"And I bet that was your Houndour!" He continued on his tirade and confirming Rae's suspicions. She held her breath to contain the giggles threatening to spill out, "Well I have news for you! I have a Houndour, too!" He yelled alongside the telltale sound of a Pokeball being opened, "He'll find you!"

"Alright, alright!" Rae finally laughed out her answer, "I'll come out! Just don't be too surprised, ginger!" Her mocking would probably only serve to anger the teen further, but at this point she was having so much fun that she could care less about the consequences.

"What do you mean-" The grunt started, freezing up when he caught sight of Rae, "You!? But, how?" Rae continued to laugh as she placed her left hand on her hip and took out her Pokeball with the other. She scanned the grunt in front of her and his tiny Houndour that was shaking like a newborn Miltank calf.

"What do ya' mean, 'how'? You just made a fool of yourself, ya orange dork!" She scoffed as Mutt was released into the open. Her Houndour, even with what little training he had, was twice as big in comparison to the frail opponent's Pokemon. Mutt seemed to realize this and puffed out his chest proudly.

"You're the one who's been screwing with me all day?" The grunt accused as he tensed up, throwing his duffle on the ground. Rae snorted and waved her hand in the air dismissively.

"I wouldn't screw a scrawny carrot like you even if I was a Bunnelby." She corrected, watching with a measure of joy as the grunt's cheeks turned rosey at what she was insinuating. Oh, adolescence, "Now, if you mean to ask if I was the one who ruined your chances of recruiting members, then the answer would be yes."

"I-I knew it!" He declared, narrowing his eyes that Rae just noticed were a lovely shade of blue, "Houndour, burn this chick into ashes!" He commanded his timid canine.

"It's Raelynd, not 'chick'." The Snagem member retorted, not moving an inch as her own Pokemon moved to intercept a weak looking blast of embers. She smirked as Mutt stood tall in front of the other Houndour, unaffected by the move, "And fire type moves don't work against Mutt, here. On the other hand, let's see if yours can withstand his Ember attack that you've just raised the power of for us." She grinned with a wave, sending her Houndour to make his counterattack. The strengthened fiery move blasted the opposing dog and sent it sprawling into the hard concrete, where it lay flinching and whimpering.

"Dangit!" The grunt gritted through his teeth as he withdrew his weakling creature, "Maybe fire won't work against him, but I know what will!" The boy drew out a different Pokeball and released another Pokemon in a flash of red light.

"An Electrike, hm?" Rae hummed, noting that this member of the grunt's team seemed a bit more able, "But can it really do any damage, Ginger?" She used a nickname for the grunt, and he seemed a bit miffed about it.

"Stop calling me that!" He demanded, forgetting momentarily that they were in the midst of a battle, "My name is Anthony!"

"I'm sorry, Ginger, but when your outfit matches your hair perfectly, what else would you expect to be called?" Rae pointed out, cocking an eyebrow as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

"My hair is blonde naturally! They have all the grunts dye their hair orange!" Anthony defended himself, "And I don't want to be criticized by someone wearing goggles and a banana yellow, long sleeved belly shirt!" Rae looked down at her clothing at the mention of them, not really getting what was so wrong with them.

"You have something against yellow, Gingy?" She asked in a way that let the grunt know he'd better choose his next words carefully.

"What? No! Your outfit is just so..." He motioned awkwardly towards her exposed stomach and skin tight, black short-shorts, "I-Indecent! At least my suit is modest!"

"Ha! What's so modest about a skinny-suit? Aren't they made to show off a guy's butt and junk?" She shot back, not wanting to admit that his comment made her feel a bit self-conscious. Before he could reply and carry on this incredibly annoying debate, Rae growled menacingly and narrowed her eyes, "You know what, forget it. Your a fool anyways. Mutt, kill this green thing!" She demanded. Mutt nodded slightly and took a deep breath in, blowing out a thick wave of ember laced heat directly into the Electrike's face.

The opposing Pokemon howled in agony and scratched at its eyes while it bristled. Anthony grumbled something to himself before ordering his Pokemon to tackle hers. Though by some odd chance the attack landed, the Electrike seemed to have irritated the burn across his face and quickly lost its gusto. The green canine was panting and scratching uncomfortably at its muzzle, a clear distraction that gave Mutt enough of an opening to launch another fiery attack. This time, the electric type fell over in a pained heap and didn't bother getting back up.

"Y-you! You ruined everything!" Anthony cried out in frustration, glaring directly into a bored looking Rae's eyes. He grasped his bright orange hair between his fingers, "Now I'll be the laughing stock of Team Flare! Do you know just how hard it is to build a good rep around headquarters!?"

"Nope, and I don't think I care, either." Rae replied honestly with a grin. She withdrew Mutt into his confines and put the ball back into her pocket, "Now, maybe you could answer a few questions for me regarding some schemes Flare is coming up with? That'd certainly build my reputation back at the Snagem HQ."

"Snagem? You're a Snagem member?" Anthony said in stunned disbelief, gaining a confident bow as his reply. The boy scoffed and returned his own felled Pokemon, "I thought Snagem's were supposed to be some self-righteous gang that had at least some sort of integrity. You're no more than a bully!"

"Well, we can't all be perfect now, can we?" Rae rolled her eyes at the Flare member, "This is just my personality, and besides, its not like you were up to any good anyways! Now shut up and give me something useful I can take back with me when I make my report."

"Fine," Anthony grumbled while reaching into his pocket. Rae smirked and took a few steps forwards, fully expecting to get something valuable from the guy. Instead, she was met in the forehead with a pellet of some sort. The object burst open in her face to release a giant plume of orange colored powder. The dust got into her eyes, blinding her, and into her lungs as she coughed and gulped for air. By the time her vision had cleared, Anthony was long gone, his duffle bag carelessly left behind.

"Well," Raelynd coughed out as she wiped orange dust off her face, "That was well played." She went over, eyes still watering, and checked the bag, finding all of the supplies including the recording device still inside. She smiled at the realization that she had done her assigned mission fairly well.
