The Jagged Scar is a highly dangerous, hazardous clearing of rocky desert within Sunagakure. Shinobi come here to test their abilities and skills. Some even come to try to survive. The climate is a bit harsher then the regular desert of the land of wind. The heat is also much dryer than the rest of the area. So dry in fact, water shinobi would not be able to develop suiton jutsu from the air. If they managed to dig deep enough, water could be possible to find.
Climate Rules • Being in the thread for over 10 posts will begin to cause Heat cramps and thirst. (Curable by water consumption and some rest.) • Being in the thread for over 15 posts without water begins to cause Heat exhaustion. (Curable by high water consumption and some rest) • Being in the thread for over 20 posts begins to cause Heat stroke. (Reguardless of water consumption) It is advised to leave immediately and seek medical attention.
Heat Cramps: Muscle pain or spasms usually in the abdomen, arms, or legs.
Heat Exhaustion: Heat exhaustion is the body's response to an excessive loss of the water and salt, usually through excessive sweating. User will begin experiencing. • Heavy sweating • Extreme weakness or fatigue • Dizziness, confusion • Clammy, moist skin • Pale or flushed complexion • Muscle cramps
Heat Stroke: Heat stroke is the most serious heat-related disorder. It occurs when the body becomes unable to control its temperature: the body's temperature rises rapidly, the sweating mechanism fails, and the body is unable to cool down. When heat stroke occurs, the body temperature can rise to 106 degrees Fahrenheit or higher within 10 to 15 minutes. Heat stroke can cause death or permanent disability if emergency treatment is not given. • Hot, dry skin or profuse sweating • Hallucinations • Chills • Throbbing headache • High body temperature • Confusion/dizziness • Slurred speech
Creatures, Items and Hazards
Inside this dangerous area, certain creatures will emerge during your ventures through the area. Certain things can be found as well during time spent inside. Some hazards can be walked into depending the environment.
Instructions:
Once inside the thread every individual RPC or one person per group of RPCs must roll (3) three, (4) four sided dice every (3) three posts. The first dice will decide what you encounter. 1 = Creature (encountering a creature that poses a threat) 2 = Hazard (Walking into or discovering some type of environmental hazard.) 3 = Item (Finding some sort of treasure or useful item) 4 = Nothing (Proceed like normal)
When rolling 1, 1, 4 and up to 1, 4, 4 quote the following people. One of these mods will assume the role of the creature.
1) Snakes: A nest of snakes has been angered by treading onto their territory. Can cause deep bite wounds and bleeding + 50 AC
2) Scorpions: Someone has just stepped on a nest of scorpions. They are now attacking them and everyone in the group. They do possess potent poison and if stung without medical attention can loose consciousness after 3 posts. Death occurs after 10 posts without medical treatment. + 50 AC
3) Skeleton: Something in this area is reanimating the fallen. A skeleton of some shinobi that had lost their life to this area is hellbent at making you stay. They can cause bite wounds or wield weapons of their previous life. 3 skeletons. +50 AC
4) Desert Wolf: A wolf has adjusted to the harsh climate and evolved for the worse. The only thing it seems to be after is blood. Ignores all mastery over animals as if it has rabies. +100 AC
Medium Creatures
1) Giant Lizard: This shark sized lizard roams the desert looking for any meat that would be available. It turns out that your next on the menu. +250 AC
2) Razor Spine: This slender creature has distinct deadly sharp bone spikes sticking off of its external skeleton. It has the ability to move at extremely fast speeds, Rivaling most Jounin. It is extremely hostile and targets any creatures smaller than itself. About the height and length of a full grown elephant. +400 AC
3) Axel Rider - This is one of the more intelligent creatures in the Jagged Scar. It attacks purely on territorial instincts and does not enjoy the company of people. It can however be tamed by someone with a strong understanding of the wild. Although it would not be easy but this creature can be subdued and even used as a pet later on if it can survive. They are mountable and can carry a large amount of weight due to their strength. +400 AC
4) Golden shelled Scorpion - This creature with its golden colored shell shines in the sun just like pure gold. It often draws people to it because of this feature. This creature however is very lazy and only attacks once people approach it. It is able to induce very deadly poison with its sting. Its tail is very unique to the point that it has barbs all over its tip that deliver the poison if punctured into skin. This makes fighting it much harder considering its flexibility with its tail able to reach any part of its body. This creature is about as large as a full grown elephant and about just as heavy. +500 AC + 1 Golden shell
Strong Creatures
1) Ash Spitter - The Ash Spitter is a rare creature inside of the Scar. If you would come across this creature it would be best advised to run. It is about the side of a large dog but it has speeds that can rival even Sannin. Because of the two head instead of one this creature is capable of launching katon jutsu per mouth. Making it very deadly even from afar. + 1000 AC
2) Desolate Oni - The Oni is a cursed armored skeletal creature that roams the Jagged scar on its lonesome. Some people think that some reanimation jutsu might still be in effect in this area which would explain a few things. It has a long jagged sword and strong armor on its legs and arms. Glowing yellow eyes bestowing fear into its victims. This Oni is capable of a wide range of abilities. It is also known to toy and stalk its food before trying to slaughter them. This is the most intelligent creature of the area. Essentially the king of the domain. Many have fallen victim to its tactics thinking they could outsmart it.
Hazards = 2
1) Quick Sand - The person or group finds themselves in sand that is not unlike normal sand but loose sand when the sand is suddenly agitated. When water in the sand cannot escape, it creates a liquefied soil that loses strength and cannot support weight. The user begins to sink at an accelerated rate. Note: 1 = man sized pit, 2 = pond sized pit, 3 & 4 = Lake sized pit
2) Sand storm - The person or group is overwhelmed by a vast sandstorm. Once inside this storm it becomes extremely hard to breath, see and hear. After time the people in the storm would become buried in the sand. If the storm is too much the for the user they must retreat the thread or suffocate from the storm. Note: 1 = 1 post, 2 & 3 = 2 posts, 4 = 3 posts
3) Lava Bed - The person or group quickly finds themselves falling through the ground of where they were standing. To their great horror they are falling towards pure lava underneath. They must use whatever they can to stop the fall or a way to land on something solid. Were you wondering why it was getting hotter? Note: 1 = fall through man size hole, 2 = fall through room sized hole, 3 = fall through a field sized hole, 4 = fall through battlefield sized hole.
4) Swarming Desert Locusts - A swarm of Desert Locusts are passing right through your path. Find a way to deflect, repel or just try to outlast them. Note: 1 = 1 post, 2 = 2 posts, 3 = 3 posts, 4 = 4 posts duration. (Bugs are able to be killed with large enough fire jutsu.)

1) Small pouch - 1 = 100 ryo, 2 = 5 projectiles of choice, 3 = A small weapon of choice, 4 = An explosive note
3) Loot-able body - 1 = 400 ryo, 2 = Body armor/flak jacket (jounin) 3 = Medium size weapon, 4 = Anbu/Oinin mask (Exchange)
4) Ruins - 1 = 1000 ryo, 2 = Ceremonial weapon (exchange) 3 = Hiruko puppet (Keep or Exchange) 4 = Artifact from the first Kazekage (Exchange)

Kaz entered the area he had remembered well. Many times he came close to brushing with death here. Always insisting on entering alone. This time he had a bit more on his side. His main goal was to show Kaori his new technique. Entering into the vastness of the area he pulled his spear from his back and kept it to his side.

Kaori took her scythe from her back and looked around, she had been here a few times before she was appointed Kazekage, but it had been a while. "It's been a while since I've been here." Kaori admitted casually. She'd been busy as kage.

Kaz had only ventured about a quarter mile into the scar before spotting what seemed like a fresh body. He tucked the spear under his arm and sprinted to its location. Giving it a look over it was clear no amount of healing would bring this one back. They were so dried out their sex was even difficult to deturmine. Looking over to his Kage he shook his head. Looking the body over it looked as though mostly everything was unusable or already missing. Gripping the Oinin mask off the side of the hip. It seemed as though they were here training, even though the cause of death was unknown. They could meet the same fate if not careful. Kaz shook the thought from his mind about as fast as it entered. He would remember his training and he would protect Kaori. "Anyone not report in lately?" He asked her hoping she might have known more. Holding the Oinin mask outward towards her.

Kaori frowned as Nova sniffed the body. She had sent very few oinin and anbu off. This one had probably been training and not heeded the warnings for this place. She took the mask reverently, "The only oinin that hasn't reported in was a male by the name of Kenji."

Taking a moment to honor the fallen oinin. Extending his hand into the air having a spear manafest in his hand. Stabbing it into the soil over his head before he tore a hair off of his red cloth around his neck and tied it around the and of the spear. It was not much of a grave but it was something. Turning and facing Kaori having a bit of stress in his eyes. The air was so dry nothing could form if it wanted to. "Dying alone is probably the last way I would want to go."Pausing again for a few moments before resuming his previous posture. "We should keep on pushing forward. This technique might help you out with a more trapping jutsu." Continueing to walk into the desert he looked for a decent place to show her the technique.

Kaori smiled, impressed by how Kaz had taken what little he had and made as proper a burial/funeral for the fallen Oinin as he could. She closed her eyes and paid her own respects and thanks for the man's service. She then turned and looked at Kaz when he spoke, "Yes. We've paid our respects, let's move." Nova huffed slightly, but nodded her head and trotted a couple paces ahead of them, as if scouting for danger.

Climbing on top of of a higher ridge he looked down to Kaori."Alright nows as good a time as ever." Charging some raiton chakra into his spear while he spoke. "This probably wont work without some kind of weapon." He took a stance facing outward, away from Kaori and Nova while he began focusing fuuton chakra into his arm. Visibly would begin showing wind whipping around his arm while his spear glowed bright yellow with lightning. Focusing on a point in the ground below he thrusted the spear outward with a loud yell. A wind tunnel erupted off of his arm along with his spear jolting the electricity from it. The wind dug into the ground kicking some sand around it while the lightning spear struck deep into the ground sparking outward before the tunnel dispersed. "Thats about the size of it. The tunnel traps what your aiming at inside while the lightning off the weapon runs them through. Its not the most destructive jutsu.... but, it shows I'm working on my ninjutsu?"
Kaz felt a bit off a bit as if his technique might have fallen short in her eyes. It might have just been stage fright but he normally never felt this way. He started questioning his own feelings about all this and why he had trouble only around her.

Kaori smiled at Kaz and clapped slightly, "Impressive!" She told him as she climbed up to the top of the ridge and and looked down at where he'd hit with the jutsu. It truly was impressive to, and had many uses if used properly. She smirked, which revealed her fangs, and turned to look at Kaz, "And you are working on your ninjutsu. I'm proud of you."

He felt a bit more reassured by her words but was still curious if she wanted to use the jutsu for herself. Tucking the spear behind himself he figured they might spend just a bit more time there before heading back. So far the area has been pretty mellow than he has had in the past. He knows it is not because of his abilities increasing because he has yet to put any of them to use. Turning towards Kaori and Nova he suggested they should maybe press on just a bit further before calling it a day. Turning back towards the large dune ahead of him he gripped his spear and propped it along his shoulders resting his arms on the sides bringing him a bit more comfort considering the habit he has picked up from always carrying a spear.
