Despite the soft ground steps were measured and judged. Sy didn't want to step on the tops of the hard grass that littered the desert floor. Digging her toes into the sand with each step taken, the tanned leafling seemed to smile and enjoy her walk. Syqvara passed many of the liquid filled pods before she paused long enough to kneel down. Perching upon her toes she would reach over to harvest one of the pods. It wasn't something she did often, as she sometimes didn't do it right, but this time she wanted to try and succeed. Sy felt it was a skill she would need in the long run. Who knew? She might need to help people collect pods of their own and if that were the case she was determined to learn how not to kill the grass.
When she managed to get the pod free she grinned at herself and stood. Still rooted to her place she held the pod gently in her hand and examined it. Tilting her head she would feel the hair on the right side move off her shoulder to hang in the air. She was proud of her hair, having grown it as long as it was. Her mother enjoyed braiding it, that was for sure.

Her inspection of the pod finished she'd lift her head and look around at the sands. Syqvara seemed happy with the landscape before her and she started to walk again. Wriggling her toes in the sand with each step she couldn't help but grin. It was something to be enjoyed. Keeping the pod in one hand she would bring the other up to run through her hair, or at least the bits that weren't braided. For now she was just pleased to have nothing to cause her any anxiety. Though she did vaguely wonder what her twin was up to.

To say that the young man wasn't heartbroken would of been a lie. After he had gone to Jahaur and gone through all the trouble of making his crush a gift and though Eira had let him down easy he still felt..depressed about the entire thing. The shifter mix didn't want to be home, for at home was his twin brother and he was sure that he would ask him a million questions about his encounter with the dancer. At home there was his sprite who would be angry with him for leaving her with his brother... So he was sitting on a large boulder, looking angry and lost in thought. Every once in awhile he would snap his fingers, shocking an annoying insect that wouldn't leave him in peace. Drawing his legs up to his chest he leaned his head on his knees and sighed, he wanted to cry but felt stupid about doing so. After all...he was trying to be an adult, apparently the attempted beard was not enough to become an adult..and right now he felt rather vulnerable and lonely.

Her fingers were tangled in the silky softness of her hair when she spotted another person. Pausing in her walk, Sy dropped her hand to her side, the other bringing the pod close to her chest as if protecting it. For a small moment she stood there. After a minute she cleared her throat loud enough to be heard before she slowly approached. Almost instantly there was a faint pink in her cheeks. Syqvara was shy, so this made her feel out of her element, but she was kind and couldn't leave someone out here if they needed help. "E-excuse me, ar-are you alright?" There was no outward sign, that she could see anyways, that there was something wrong, but she wanted to be sure. When she was about ten feet from the bolder that served as the perch, she stopped. Standing awkwardly and biting her lip she did her best to not make direct eye contact.

Looking up his angry expression softened if only slightly, after all it was a girl who was speaking to him and he found it hard to be angry at women. Still she was of leaf decent and her stuttering words made him feel only a smidge nicer than he normally would of been. Of course why he expected to be left alone out in the open was beyond him. So it wasn't right for him to snap at her and yet he couldn't help it as the words came flying out of his mouth. "Do I look fine?" Came the sharp tone as he glared up at the young girl, only to regret it a instant later. Sighing he ran a hand through his hair and stretched out his legs, blushing slightly as he looked away. "Sorry...I shouldn't take my frustrations out on you." Giving another sigh as he glanced back at the girl and the pod she held tightly to her chest.

She noticed the glare first and it made her move one foot back as if she was poised to turn tail and run. When the male snapped his response at her she flinched and closed her eyes, looking as though she had been struck physically. The pink in her cheeks grew brighter at the response she received. "S-sorry. I shouldn't h-have intruded." Upon opening her eyes there was a fine gathering of tears along the bottom but she still avoided looking at the man. When he apologized for his actions she only shook her head quickly. "N-no, it was m-my fault." Sy now brought her free hand up to push her hair behind her ear as she lifted her gaze to half meet his. "A-are you hurt o-or lost?" Those she could help with. Syqvara loved to help.

Some part of her question made him want to laugh in the irony. Hurt? Sure his heart felt like it was broken into a thousand pieces so he was hurt but not in a physical sense. Was there really any point going into great detail about his pain? Shifting on the large boulder he sat upon he drew up one leg and leaned against the knee, looking over the young woman a moment. Her face was very pink and it was quite becoming. "The pain I feel cannot be healed by normal means. Just..time I suppose." He replied dryly as he wondered a moment about the pod in her arms. "You gathering those?" He inquired trying to shift the subject from him to her. After all he didn't really want to reveal the bleeding heart he had to a complete stranger... Well that was another thing, perhaps he could get her name. "My name is Chandra son of Keilana the Adored. Not sure if you've heard of my mother and her prowress with a hammer."

So he was hurt emotionally. Sy nodded her head in understanding to that. There was nothing she could do to fix that. When he moved to sit more comfortably she looked down to the pod she held. "O-oh, no. I am n-not very good. Might k-kill the plant." It was here she now gave a smile. Syqvara was somewhat amused at the thought of her gathering. One or two perhaps, but any more than that and she could be responsible for the extinction of the plant species. With a name given, and a brief genealogy, she brought her gaze back to him, this time actually making eye contact. "N-no, I haven't. If s-she is adored, t-though, I'm sure she i-is wonderful. I'm Syqvara." Her family wasn't famously known so she didn't offer any lineage.

The girl was quiet and there was something about her disposition that he enjoyed. Perhaps because she was just so different from Eira. In more ways than one...they way she bashfully explained how she hadn't heard of his mother and went about saying she must be wonderful if she was adored. Chandra always thought it funny how she had earned such a title. The woman was such a hot head...always getting angry at a moments notice. "Its fine, I mean we don't have that great a lineage, haha...sorry I guess I made myself sound better than I actually was." He murmured feeling a bit stupid, after all it had taken him forever to learn how to wield magic so what did that show? "What do you intend to do with that pod?" Came his next question, as he wasn't entirely sure the purpose of her gathering one.

She offered a smile at him next as he apologized for his statements. "Y-you apolog-gize a lot." Here, Sy giggled. "It's o-okay." When he turned the conversation back to her and the pod she would look back at the thing she had picked. "I'm not s-sure. I want t-to see if I could p-pick it correctly." Syqvara turned the pod over in her hands, a smile going across her face as she felt some accomplishment in getting the thing free of the grass. Now feeling on the spot she'd shift a little on her feet. To put the focus back on him she'd clear her throat and meet his eyes. "So why are you out here?" Aside from the emotional pain he was feeling. If he had a mother then surely he could speak to her about it.

Chandra noted that she didn't seem comfortable with the spot light on her, a shy one. So she had been trying to pick the pods correctly? Though a healer Chandra wasn't entirely sure the purpose of such a thing he didn't want to tease her. Well he did but he wasn't that cruel. If it was his brother on the other hand... The question was returned to him, it seemed that unless he did want to be mean he would either have to leave or answer. Sighing he leaned back on the rock again, rocking his heels against the dirt a moment before looking off into the grass. "I suppose I am moping. I can't exactly say I am a brave man, stubborn yes..but...today was a big hit for my ego." He replied slowly, he really didn't want to get into great details.

A hit to his ego? Sy chewed on her lip a bit more as she thought about that. Then it hit her and she took a single step closer, both of her hands moving to go behind her back as her cheeks finally took on the red tint of embarrassment. "W-well that's an easy f-fix. You have a f-famous mom who is adored b-by all. So you come from a g-great family. You're h-handsome and your social s-skills are excellent." The red spread to color her ears and when she was done speaking she avoided eye contact. Sy's intent was to make his ego feel better. Of course with her stutter it might not have the same effect. Bringing her hands back in front of her she started to pick at the hem of her sleeve.

To have a whole bunch of compliments thrown at him at once had the older man staring at the younger girl. Of course they were probably not that far off in age but still his own cheeks flushed slightly as he looked away, using a hand to hide the smile that was on his face. She was trying to be awfully nice to him, a grumpy guy like him who was sulking because he got rejected. "You should tell my brother all that." He finally managed after he got the blush on his face under control and he felt that he could face her again. "After all he thinks I am just a grumpy stick in the mud who spends entirely too much time reading. He fails to see that information is power..." Chandra trailed off before looking at the young woman again. "Its Syqvara right?" He managed with another of his rare smiles, "Do you live around here?" Alright so perhaps he couldn't help but flirt a bit, but she was a nice girl.

"Well t-then your brother n-needs a stern talking t-to." She nodded her head firmly to solidify her response but she was still having some issues with meeting his eyes and her face was half red. Sy had noticed how Chandra had covered his smile with his hand. "What k-kind of information?" Leaving her sleeve alone she'd reach up to once more push her hair back. When he asked if he had her name right she managed a nod and when he asked about where she lived she gave a vague motion with her hand since it was still up. "Y-yeah, I do. D-do you?" Doing her best to keep the focus on him she'd gently toss the pod at Chandra for him to catch.

Chandra actually laughed, a stern talking to? With Aysun? He would LOVE to see Sy go and tell his twin a thing or two. "I should bring you over sometime so you can do just that." He mentioned a bit off handedly though his face went red again as he realized it sounded more like an invitation home with him. "You know..speak with my brother." He explained with a nod of his head. "There is a vast amount of knowledge you can learn from a book." He hurriedly continued moving to retrieve one such book from his satchel. It was a book on healing primarily, since his uncle had lent it to him who was now a Monk and no longer needed to refer to it. "My uncle gave it to me, he is a healer...I never really considered myself a healer...but that's what ended up happening." He explained after a moment letting the book hang in the air for her to take. "I don't live nearby, but I am close enough I could come visit."
