Time did not stand still, and for Castor, it moved both too quickly and too slowly for his liking. The process of restoration took longer than was ideal, and you couldn't very well rush evolution. A thousand odd years of damage wasn't undone in one short human lifespan. Yet time moved too quickly. How did you stop revolutions? Stop the short human life from ending before you had the chance to make something that would outlast you?

Castor dwelt too long on these thoughts, on the future, on the next time he'd be born, ignorant until a cat would awaken him, and he relive hips pasts again, live a new lifetime- in an unpredictable future.

Twriling his hair in his fingers, the eternal senshi of hail, resisted the call of his world that night. Trying to find his comforts on earth, as alien to him it now felt. It was his home while at the same time was not. A heavy sigh escaped him, eye closing as he tried to see the city from the water tower he sat on from the view of what he should have. The view of any senshi, not a royal who's memories of the past plagued him. He wondered how many of those he'd left behind still lingered- who left, who stayed.

Who had become lost in the tides of time? Another sigh. He was over thinking it all.

ICly this is before the breakup, so bromosexual isn't a blubbering ball of blond. I think it's for the best *cough*

Bouncing along rooftops, Aegir was still using patrol as a means of shutting his brain down so he wouldn't have to think too hard about his civilian life being a ball of stress. It was probably a good thing he didn't have the stresses and strains of responsibility like Castor did (or had, even back when they'd first gotten into contact with each other) - he would have cracked. Probably.

As it was he felt sadness thinking about those he'd known that were gone for some reason or another, like Castor. He'd sent a few messages over time, in the hopes that there might be news, that the senshi of hail was alive and healthy, kicking Nega-butt and dusting youma. But he'd mostly given up on ever hearing from the cocky brunet by this point, even if he wondered about what had happened to him.

There were energy signatures out and about, Aegir could feel them. Some shone brightly, some were dimmer...and perhaps some were what one might consider unfriendly. He was restless enough to want to seek them out but tired enough already from a long day of practice to know that doing so was probably not the smartest thing he could be doing. Which was why he instead made his way to a brighter energy signature settled on top of the water tower he himself liked to rest on.

Castor liked being just under the radar some nights. Italy was no hub of activity, but the situation there was hostile. No cats, and while no take over, with no cat, no scouts. So he was at best, a big neon sign of order to any chaos agent. At least in Destiny City, he could use the others to his advantage, masking his more overt signal. He wished things could be simpler at times but what could he do? He was royal, and he had duty now.

Still, he was a rather loud power, even when eternal.

A flickering familiarity and he looked around, trying to spy in the darkness who had hit his mental radar. Once spotted- 'Hey!" He called out. "HEYYYYY!" He waved, a slow grin forming. Long time but the senshi didn't seem to have changed at all. "Hey- ag- Aggy! Been a while!" Aggy was close enough.
"Good to see you're alive. Causing a rukus for chaos I hope?"

Castor was the brightest light around and it didn't take long before Aegir was close enough to make out the gender of the person on the water tower. A person who was...waving like a happy maniac? The hell? Did he know this white-haired guy calling him 'Aggy'?

But wait, the voice. The voice and the costume - now that he was there, within arm's reach - really were familiar and tickled at the back of his brain where there were some long-buried memories. 'OhmyGOD! That's CASTOR!' "Castor!? Oh my christ is that really you!?" Aegir was like a really excited Labrador puppy, bouncing from foot to foot and reaching out to grab at Castor's arms excitedly.

"Yeah man, kicking a** and taking names." Or having his own a** kicked, but he wasn't about to mention that, not when they were just now meeting again and things were shiny and exciting! "Wow, I can't believe it's really you, I thought you might have died or something. Er, what happened....and what happened to your hair?"

Castor laughed, tossing back his head while pushing his now white hair from his face. "Haha! Yeah, it's me. Good to see you though- and well." He winked. "They match the carpets too. But nah, this is a really... interesting side effect of having been on my home world for nearly three years straight. On the bright side, I can dye it whatever color. Down side is I'm pretty sure my genetics have gotten ******** up. Earth is... odd feeling to me these days." He shrugged, motioning for Aegir to join him.

"Being a royal can do that. But hey, you're running about. How's life, how's the butt kicking going, any rivals, loves- tell me what's been going down for A-town."

Castor had gone into bro-mode. All that was missing was a six pack and a baseball cap.

The wink aimed in his direction brought Aegir a few moments of confusion before the white-haired gentleman informed him that all his hair matched. It wasn't exactly something he'd expected to hear from Castor and he stared for a moment, went slightly red in the face and then shook his head while chuckling. "Three years...no wonder I couldn't get a hold of you! Wow. How is your home world then?"

Anything else that he might have wanted to comment about in the realm of genetics or even the changes that might have happened to Castor while he was gone from the Earth were either too invasive or wouldn't occur to him until much later, when he was alone and able to contemplate what he'd been told. So instead he mostly nodded and joined Castor on the water tower.

"Yep, running around kicking Nega-butt. It's going pretty well. I've also gotten to meet a Knight or two and a couple of Guardian cats. Mostly though I've been working on my skills with Eternal Thraen. No rivals, I don't think...there are a few Negaverse Officers that probably want me really dead, but I consider that a job well done." His bright, excited smile faltered and Aegir's shoulders hunched as he dropped his head when he thought about his 'loves'.

"Actually...I've been with the same person for a while, but things have gotten weird and strained lately. Other than that, I'm pretty good. What about you? Anyone back on your planet or here that you're with?"

Laughing, Castor shook his head. "Isn't that how it goes though? We get popular, make enemies, shake it up, save some lives maybe." A slap on Aegir's back, the senshi of hail looked up, then back at his companion.
"Worlds' doing alright I suppose. Living, thriving. Still not livable though, which is frustrating. Getting there, but not yet." A starch to his head, he voiced out loud a tiny wonder.
"If I can get it to be livable, we could leave this place. Maybe start again. But I doubt anyone would be willing to try. Not until it was too late."

The dream he'd been ready, but so few others had been. So few ready to abandon this world, and their pasts.

"The only one waiting on my world is the world itself. That's kind of the weird thing. When you're royal, your world calls you in this passive way. It's home, it's a part of you and it needs you. But here.. no." His finger rubbed over where a ring might have once sat.

"That dream is dead. I am a single man again. Which is.. interesting in it's own way. But what's that s**t bout stuff being weird and strained. They getting huffy about you pulling late nights?"

The blond's body jerked forward with the bro!slap to his back but he kept grinning and even laughed as he was nearly bowled over. "Yep, pretty much." Making friends, making enemies...making lots of youma dust and trying to keep oneself from being killed or corrupted the whole while. How anyone dealt with all this crap without severe mental issues was anyone's guess, but Aegir was pretty sure he'd be okay. He was so far, right? Right.

"That sounds like an amazing idea, Castor...but I know that I'd have a hard time leaving my family and loved ones. I imagine most of us would...but to be able to rebuild broken home worlds...that's...incredible." But what did he mean by saying 'too late'? Why did the white-haired royal senshi of Hail get such a flash of hurt and sad in his eyes when he said it?

Castor's story hit home in a visceral way, causing Aegir's grin to falter and his shoulders to hunch slightly as if he wanted to curl into himself. "I'm really sorry to hear that." That dream is dead? Did his lover actually die, or was it something worse? Can any of us expect to have lasting, meaningful relationships with what we do? "Actually no, me pulling late nights is nothing new. It's..well, it's more like he's pulling away for some reason and won't talk to me. Disappearing for weeks at a time, not always leaving word.' Aegir shrugged a bit, trying to pass it off even though it was a wound that grew each day.

He shrugged. It was all he could do. "A lot of them don't have the memories of the end. Of rather, what it's like to die-I remember it very clearly. They don't understand the significance of their inaction when they don't fight. What can and will happen. They don't understand that our fight extends beyond earth and this lifetime. That's what's frustrating. So many senshi and knights think we can save earth with minimal conflict but I have sincere doubts it can be accomplished in this lifespan. It's part of why it's so important we focus on our worlds and restoring them. If I can restore my world... I could perhaps begin a settlement. See maybe at least a single generation be born. It could change the entire tide of war Ageir. It could save us." He wanted it. He wanted it so desperately he'd dreamed of his past and his hope of a future until it had become a single guiding hope for him.

Another shrug, another sigh, and Castor leaned back. "I ramble. Sorry. As for you uh.. situation." He'd forgotten that some people didn't chase skirts but rather pants. "That's suspicious. And dangerous. My first instinct is that they involved in something that isn't going to end well. Petty crime. Cheating. But.." He didn't want to alarm yet he'd been there. He'd experienced it.

"Have you ever considered the possibility they are like us?" He frowned. "Or that they are using you as a means to an end?" He'd known both. If in very different manners.

Castor was likely right about most of the other senshi not remembering what it was like to die, Aegir didn't. At least not at the moment, if ever. "I see." What more was there to say? He understood what was being said, the significance of thinking in terms of the Bigger Picture rather than piecemeal. Honestly, it frightened him a bit, to realize that whatever they did now, it may not be enough to protect the future. Minimal conflict? Yeah right. The Negaverse would never allow it - no war could be fought without the oceans running red. Aegir knew this in his bones. "I think you have the right idea, Castor. I'm sure our enemy thinks in the long term, so should we."

The curly haired senshi blinked as Castor changed the subject a bit, then chuckled to himself. Clearly the senshi of hail wasn't one to chase after gentlemen. "He's...not, I don't think. Like us, I mean. If you knew him...well, he's not good at lying or withholding information at all." Except that he could be, simply by not being there to say anything. "I've thought about it from every angle, no matter how ugly...but I know he's hurt by whatever it is. And that he still loves me. Just...I don't know." Aegir crossed his arms over his chest and sighed, looking up at the night sky and fretting over his home situation.

"Whatever the reason, I'm still going to strangle him with his own braid when he finally comes home." Or you know, just cry about things and make a mess of himself. Whatever.

Just wait, he's gonna feel like a total a** when he learns the truth. XD;;

"All my ideas are right." He said in reply. Castor's confidence in himself certainly hadn't changed, nor had his stubbornness. "Besides, it's basic logic. Which is why when the others so quickly dismiss it I want to strangle them." Castor always would be stubborn.

Leaning back, Castor watched Aegir talk, taking note of his eyes, the quirks of speech, and small gestures. "He's lucky, and stupid." Were the prince's final thoughts. "You care about him, and he's hurting you. Whatever bullshit he's hurting from doesn't justify him hurting you emotionally. That kind of thinking can end up ******** you up. But, keep that anger on you. If the man has balls and a heart to choke on, he'll come round and realize that not being there is wrecking what his lucky a** has." His own mouth quirked.

"Sometimes when we love someone, we hurt them. We hurt them and we never know. Then when they're gone..." He took a deep breath. "It's only then we begin to realize our mistakes." He'd made his mistakes. He'd not make them again.

"Have you ever confronted him before?" There was a serious look to his face, "Like, I may not uh, know some dynamics here, but you know if you need help I'm cool with doing s**t right?" Castor would be a backup dancer for a bro dealing with things. Even if it was things that involved feelings.

His confidence was one of the things that Aegir liked about him. Also, the easy way he seemed to assume leadership and deal with situations via logic - even if sometimes the logic was applied in strange ways. These were all traits that he either had himself or admired.

"No, it doesn't, but..." There wasn't much more he could have said about the situation - definitely nothing that he hadn't thought about before, worried like a dog with a bone - so he just let the words trail off. Of course he knew it wasn't right to allow someone else to hurt him like that, to treat him like that...but it was hard to let go of someone you cared for that much. Someone you'd be happy marrying. Castor's strong words pushed a snicker from him, but it didn't last long.

"I hope it doesn't take leaving for him to realize it, that'd suck." But was he preparing himself for that eventuality? Yes. He was trying to - hope for the best, prepare for the worst was the old adage, right? Aegir just chewed at the inside of his cheek and looked out over Destiny City, hair ruffled by the breeze as he worked to keep his emotions in check by shoving them down into a dark little box. He was not going to get all mushy-weepy in front of this man. Nope.

He'd confronted him, sort of. Kind of. In an offhand sort of way only because he was afraid of pushing the big blond further away. Life without him was...pretty awful to think about. Aegir appreciated the Prince of Hail's support greatly, and gave him a bit of a smile. "I appreciate the offer, Castor...and if I can't strangle him properly on my own, you'll be the first to know."

It made him laugh, a rough shove at the other man done in pure mirth. "Yeah dude. You just- You have to do whats best for you. Love is weird and complex but in the end, if you let one thing rule you, it'll ruin you."

He stood up, stretching under the sky and smiling.

"Don't doubt yourself okay? We got enough of that in the world already."
He shrugged before asking.
"You want to go get pancakes?" It was a good time for pancakes.

Aegir staggered a bit under the good-natured shoving Castor gave him, but he laughed and grinned at the Prince of Hail. He felt a bit better, he really did. Castor was the sort of fellow you just couldn't stay down around, not for long. His worldview and attitude wouldn't allow for it.

"You got it." Well, he'd try his best, at least. As for the pancakes, he blinked a bit and stood next to Castor.

"Pancakes?" Why not pancakes? They were delicious. "Sure. I could go for pancakes."
