Tail up like a flag, Ash trotted towards the studio Quenton frequented with purpose and energy. Though the search for Amphitrite was not progressing as quickly as she could have liked, the guardian was confident they were going to find something soon. She had Thraen's support and volunteers to help in the search. When the White Moon came together, she firmly believed there was nothing they couldn't accomplish.

It had been Thraen's suggestion that she meet this particular senshi and really, Ash was happy to do so. She loved senshi! Particular senshi men. They were always a delight, and helping out senshi of any kind was wonderful, of course. It made her feel useful, worthwhile, and that was something she sorely needed.

Rounding the corner of a building, the silver cat cocked her head and surveyed the area through the haze of her purple visor, scanning for humans or animals or anything else that could pose a potential risk. She really didn't want to resort to taking refuge under a dumpster again... it was been highly unpleasant last time. Aegir... That was the name of the senshi she was meeting. She couldn't remember what Thraen had said his sphere was, if he'd mentioned it at all. Ash wondered what he might be like... but it was likely she'd be finding out soon.

Students dotted the sidewalks, but it was late and most were on the way home. Sliding around the building, she headed for the back lot where there were likely to be less people. The chatter of friends sounded comfortable and comforting, but that was not what she was here for tonight.

Checking his phone again to be certain he'd gotten the timing correct, Colin surreptitiously looked around. He had dressed in layers over skinny jeans, with a light coat over all of it - his shirt chosen for it's ability to be quickly recognized by any adorable Mauvians. The design was just a logo from the Destiny City Ballet Company, grey on blue - he'd mentioned that he'd wear it, so that Ash would know him (outside of him transforming then and there).

They had agreed to a quieter corner, somewhere that if powering up became something that needed to happen, it would be easier to manage. Colin waited, arms crossed over his chest before he realized that doing so negating the planning of wearing the stupid shirt. When he caught view of a little silvery colored cat with a visor he knew that he must be seeing Ash for the first time. His first technologically inclined Guardian cat.

"Over here, uh, Ash." Boy did he feel silly putting his hand in the air and sort of waving a feline over, but thankfully no one was paying him much attention; the folks walking about at this hour weren't interested in a curly-haired blond who seemed to be waiting for someone-that-wasn't-them.

The small triangular ears perked up as the guardian heard her name being called and she responded with a cheerful prrrt as she turned towards the voice.

Oh, Hello Handsome! She thought as she bounded towards the blonde, a feline smile on her face. When she reached him, the silver cat wove herself with familiarity between and around his ankles, her sides arched to rub against his pants.

"Hello, Darling! You're Aegir, yes? Thraen told me about you and I'm so happy to meet you! I love meeting new senshi. Have you been a senshi for very long? I think he said you were a basic level." She rumbled a happy purr as she looked up towards the young man, her tail curling around his leg. "We should find a place to talk maybe, don't you think? Unless you think talking to me here is okay."

The cat rubbed her cheek against his leg again, rubbing scent off on the jean material.

Colin held very still while the silver-furred cat made herself welcome around his ankles in the time-honored tradition of felines everywhere. He caught himself just before reaching down to scritch at the top of her adorable little fuzzy head as though she were just a painfully adorable - and friendly! - cat he'd found.

"Yep, that'd be me." He knelt down and smiled brightly at the Guardian cat, "Senshi of Silence, at your service. But you can call me Colin." The secondary question from the excited silver kitty was easily answered but her suggestion of finding a better place to talk than right there out in the open was a most excellent one. "Let's find somewhere a bit more private. Do you want something to eat or drink while we talk? There's a coffee shop right around the corner..." Mauvians often liked people food and drink, especially sweet things (Pray had loved waffles for crying out loud) and he was totally willing to indulge them.

Awww, was she scent marking him? That was adorable. Colin had to fight the urge to pick Ash up and cuddle her to his chest. "I can carry you, if you'd like. It'd be no problem."

He didn't reach to pet her like others did, but she paid it no mind, enjoying instead that he lowered himself to her level to talk.

"Colin! That is a lovely name, Darling. I am, as you know, Ash, the Silver Lady." She puffed her chest as she lifted her head, slanting him a coy look as her tail flipped from side to side. "It is lovely to make your acquaintance. Always lovely to meet new people, as I said."

She brightened as he mentioned food and she reared back to set her forepaws on his knee, stretching up on her hindlegs.

"Yes, that would be wonderful! I am always happy to enjoy a little something... hunting is hard for a refined lady like myself, you understand, so I would never say no to a little bite." She hummed happily. Thraen was thoughtful like that too, bringing her things like water when she'd had a ways to travel. That was why her senshi were the best of the bunch, of course. Thoughtful, clever, motivated.... usually. And Methone had other good qualities to make up for that, of course. "Oh, I would definitely not say no to a ride. What lady could say no to such a chivalrous display by a handsome senshi man?"

She laughed as she stretched, her spine arching downwards before she straightened again, settling back to sit on her haunches.

"What cat awakened you, if I might ask? I regret that I didn't have the privilege of doing it myself."

With the near-complete lack of restraint the curly-haired blond usually had towards other living creatures it was kind of amazing that he didn't just scoop up every Mauvian he encountered to snoogle them into oblivion...but years ago he'd learned to be cautious around 'strange' cats. They could claw the hell out of you before you had time to blink or even contemplate what you might have done wrong. Plus, he hadn't really figured out what was okay and what wasn't. Faust might have used him as a perch, but he wouldn't have tolerated being picked up. Ash might look like she'd be a sweet little marshmallow of love, but until he asked he was going to try to remember to respect her potential boundaries.

"It's good to finally meet you too, Ash." She was such a lovely little lady, and so adorable. Especially when she put her little paws on his knee when he mentioned food. And then started praising him - was he being buttered up by a Guardian Cat? Sure seemed like it, but he was already sold on Ash as a perfectly wonderful, amazing Mauvian that he needed to spend more time with. Nothing like stroking a guy's ego to make him eat out of your hand - er, paw.

"Oh, Derpraline did." Colin carefully scooped the silver furred feline up into
his arms and straightened back up, fingers of one hand automatically moving to smooth over some fur he'd accidentally ruffled in collecting her from the ground. "Alright, let's go get something delicious." After a few steps in the right direction he had a thought, "Ash...I should probably ask what you'd like now, before we're there. Not sure I could convince people I'm that good a ventriloquist."

And he really didn't want to freak people out with an admittedly adorable talking cat.

NGL, he might be a little in love with her at this point.

The silver cat went limp as she was lifted up, allowing herself to be settled into his arms. In return, a deep purr rumbled from her chest and her tail swung lazily back and forth over his forearm. A tilt of her head let her butt it into his stroking hand, a cat-smile on her small face.

"Derpraline? I've never met that one before... And I want pie!" She caroled as she wiggled happily, little ears perked up happily. "Or cake. Something sweet! Since you're buying."

Ash giggled as she gave him a lazy wink, the tip of her tail curling. She probably should have asked for something with more protein in it, something that would have given her more benefit when you considered how hard it was to feed herself properly... but all she really wanted was sweet things. Desserts. Sugar was a good thing!

A bit of silver caught her eye and the guardian perked, stretching her neck out to nose at the bit attached to her shirt with growing excitement.

"You're wearing Star Fleet insignia!" Ash squealed as she wiggled about to get her paws up, hooking them around his pin in a sneaky attempt to loosen it from the fabric. Avericious, as ever... "Oh, Darling, are you a fan too? I brain spiked, like, all of season one of The Next Generation and just devoured the rest of that and Deep Space Nine as well... I think Picard is my one true love, but sadly, our union shall never be..."

The Mauvian's furry little body was a warm weight in his arms and when she started purring Colin couldn't help but smile happily. Feline purrs were known for having positive effects on people and he wasn't immune by any means. It was really nice, as was having her show him some obvious affection. Why did he not have a cat of his own? Not even one of the Guardian cats, just a regular cat would be fine...maybe I should, it might help. Coming home to an empty apartment is so depressing.

"Mmhmm, she's a tiny persian kitten with blue eyes. Loves waffles and elaborate hats. I haven't seen her for a while, but she said she was with another Guardian named Astraea." He chuckled a little bit at Ash's obvious excitement and the way her ears perked happily as she contemplated her upcoming treat. "Of course, wouldn't dream of having a lady pay for herself." Colin would have gotten her anything she wanted - and if he found out that she had trouble keeping herself fed? He'd change that, staring almost immediately.

He was a soft touch, really he was.

"Oh, yeah. Unless I'm in costume, I'm always wearing it." She knew Star Trek! It was utterly delightful to know that one of the Mauvians could actually recognize his pin - as well as speak about the series intelligently and at length. "You could say I'm a fan..." The way in which Colin spoke that line should have told Ash all she needed to know: fan was not the word. "I have quite the collection, and I speak Klingon and a little Vulcan...and uh, yeah." His cheeks were flushed with excitement, he had a new Trek Buddy!

Who was sort of maybe trying to take his insignia pin. Which wouldn't be the worst thing, since he had more than one. "Do you want this one? I have another at home...And Picard is an amazing Captain, though I think in terms of sheer guts, Kirk is the man."

Colin took a moment before pushing into the coffee shop so that Ash could resettle and so they weren't talking (honestly, he was not going to be able to convince anyone that he was a ventriloquist). There was only one person in line at the moment and the low hum of patrons blended with the heady scent of coffee and cakes. He sighed appreciatively and perused the menu as the guy in front put in his order, then stepped up himself while gently shuffling Ash a little bit so he could pull his wallet from a back pocket. "Can I get a vanilla latte with soy milk, one of the apple tarts aaaaand..." He cocked his head while fishing out his debit card, "a slice of the cookie cake pie."

The bored-but-resolutely-smiling barista totaled his order and took his name, asking if he wanted the 'breads' warmed - which he accepted - and then swiped his card before schlepping him off to one side to wait. Once their order was ready he gathered it - and a spare cup - and took them out to find a nice, secluded place to talk. And to enjoy their treats. "I didn't know if you'd like some of my latte, but that's what the extra cup is for." Colin would just cut it down for her. Maybe he should have gotten her some water or milk too, whoops.

"I've never heard of Astraea either, I'm afraid. But I supposed I don't spend a lot of time with my own kind." She said as she worked the pin out of his shirt without stabbing either of them. She hummed victoriously as she settled in his arms again, a beaming smile spreading over her face when he asked if she wanted it.

"Oh, yes, I would very much like this, if I may! You don't find things like this just... lying around you know." She chirped as she held it fast between both paws, looking entirely too pleased with herself. "I don't speak any other languages, but I've been meaning to learn. I know Thraen speaks German... that might be one to pick up. Do you find much use for Klingon and Vulcan? Besides, I suppose, translating phrases on the shows."

She made a small snorting sound when he brought up kirk, but by that time they were entering the coffee house and it was time for her to look pretty and pretend she was any other house-cat-wearing-a-toy-visor. She did her best to look wide eyes and friendly, which got her some coos from some nearby ladies who thought it ADORABLE this handsome young man would carry around such a sweet looking pet cat.

Ash hung limply in his arms as he shifted her about, uncaring as long as the pin she'd stolen was still firmly in her grasp. She couldn't help some anticipatory tail flicking when he ordered pie, but she kept her excited lidded until they were out of the shop and into marginally safer areas for conversation.

"Oh, I'm starving!" She burst out finally, giving a little squirm. "I would adore some of your latte, Darling. I always say; high-functioning minds need the energy from sugar and caffeine! And my brain is quite advanced."

The cat looked smug as she said it, believing it to be completely true. With what she had seen of other guardians the few times she had cause to be around them, her mind was rather more advanced... at least in the area of technology, where Mauvians should rightly excel.

So many things to discuss, when they were safely away from the prying eyes of...well...civilians. It was certainly one thing for someone to be talking to their 'pet cat' (who was also dressed up) but quite another for the cat to be talking back to him!

Colin brought them to a small space slightly tucked away - one of those small landscaped spaces often found near campuses that tended to involve a bit of urban sprawl, like DCU did - and sat cross-legged with Ash's adorable little kitty self settled onto his legs. It would take a few moments of re-arranging and then a few more while he used a pocket-knife to cut the extra cup down for her, but he'd get them sorted out.

"Klingon and Vulcan are usually only useful on message boards or when I used to game more and didn't want mom to know what I was saying." Colin would even take a moment after opening up her slice of cookie cake pie to reclaim the pin and affix it to her necklace. "Easier to keep track of it, when it's attached."

When Ash claimed that she - and other Mauvians - were more advanced the blond nodded; there was absolutely no reasons for him to believe otherwise. She might have been what looked like a cutely adorned Earth cat, but the reality of it was that she was a highly-intelligent alien being. Colin got this - he found it awesome. "I hope you like the pie, it's one I've had before, but not from there. It's really good." Of course, he had an apple tart to nibble at...though if Ash was even slightly interested in it she'd find it quite easy to get him to offer her some.

"I was supposed to check in with Astraea, with Pray...but I never did. Things got kind of...well, life happened. I was in high school and between it, dance, and playing kick-the-monster...I didn't have time to seek her back out." As Aegir, he'd very much found himself in a sink-or-swim situation. "Eventually I met Castor and he filled me in on some things, which was nice."

The silver cat hummed as the pin settled on her necklack, glinting cheerily among the dangling golden bits. She puffed her chest a little as she smoothed it down with a paw, looking entirely too pleased with herself. She had never really had a chance to acquire, or the space to store, memorabilia... So this was quite the rare treat. The fact that she had more or less bullied his pin away from him never even crossed her mind... he'd offered it, it was now hers.

Crouching, she bent to sniff at the cut down cup and rumbled a happy purr at the warmth and sweet smell. She lapped at it experimentally and then made a face, her tongue hanging out to cool the heat.

"Oh, goodness!" She hummed, huffing on the surface to cool it. The pie he unwrapped claimed her attention and she licked the surface daintily. It cooled her tongue of it's burn and she rumbled happily, settling down like a proper cat-loaf.

"I always check with my senshi." Ash said proudly, licking her chops. "Or, at the very least, make sure they have everything they need the first go around. Its a bit hard to keep up with all of them, but I try! Castor is a good boy... I hope he was able to help you. I would be happy to help you too, of course. Help make up for the lack of cat in your life so far."

The guardian grinned as she tilted her sunny face up to him, the slender length of her tail flipping lazily side to side. Another delicate lick was given to her pie before Ash settled in to seriously chow down.

Ash was lovely and adorable and Colin didn't mind at all that she'd basically appropriated the item because to his mind the offer would have been made even if she hadn't grabby-pawed it first, simply because she seemed to really love Star Trek (and because he had another and could get more easily).

She wasn't the only one that accidentally burnt their tongue, the blond joined her in making a face after he'd taken a sip from his cup. "Why don't I ever remember it's hot?" Because he was impatient and wanted to drink it? Because no one ever remembered? Either way, he returned his attention to the silver Guardian cat in time to watch her loaf adorably before her food. Aaaah, who in their right mind could resist a catloaf?

"Castor sicced a youma on me." Well, he had. "It did help though, I wasn't afraid to face them down after." He nibbled at his treat with a little smile on his face at the memory. "But...I'd really love that, if you don't mind. I've been running around alone for a while now and as much information as the Primer has...there's something to be said for 'paws' on."

For a bit the blond would just sit and enjoy the company and the food, maybe talking a bit about his favorite episodes or whatnot, but mostly just relaxing. After a while he'd shift on the ground and fish two phones from one of his back pockets. "You know, people always ask why I have two..." One was clearly the senshi phone version 1.0, the other was a smartphone and clearly had nothing special about it save for an industrial strength protective case.

Both, however, had the same massive blond with a goatee's face as their backdrop. Because reasons.

"Oh, Goodness!" Ash gave a lady-like gasp of shock as she looked up from her pie, icing decorating her muzzle.

"Sent a youma after you? Castor... naughty. He's a little forceful with his methods of teaching, hmm? He wouldn't have let you get hurt, surely... and if it helped, then I suppose it wasn't all bad." The guardian licked her face clean with swipes of her pink tongue. "I would have taught a bit different, but then, I'm not a senshi. "

The treat was devoured in short order, the coffee not long after. It was a very full and very happy Mauvian that came to claim a seat on Colin's lap, curling up comfortably. A warm, rolling purr came from her chest, vibrating through her sides. Green eyes were slits of happiness, zeroing in immediately as pointed ears perked forward with new attention on the phones produced. Ash was loath to get up, but she studied the phones with a critical eye.

"Who is that handsome gentleman?" The guardian chirped as she tilted her head, reaching out with a paw to hook his senshi phone and pull it closer. She hummed happily as her ears pressed back and her tail gave a flick. Something fell out of the air to land in his lap and Ash hummed happily over it.

"Ah, here we go! That is a terribly outdated phone and it is a shame for you to be carrying it around... This will be MUCH better." Her paws made quick work of popping the case of the old phone open and a small piece of it was extracted. A little poking about got something that looked like a sleek new smart phone open and the piece was added to it. The old phone disappeared, tucked safely back into her subspace pocket and Ash settled again, looking far too pleased with herself.

"There we go! Fire it up, Darling and give it a try!"

Colin could only laugh now about Castor siccing the monster on him - at the time he hadn't been afraid, just...wary. There had been something about the easy manner of the Senshi of Hail that had said he'd be okay. "Well, I did agree to it." And he'd been fine, everything had turned out for the best in that regard. Castor had filled in some blanks for Aegir, given him some much needed information to help prepare him for the war he'd suddenly been thrust into.

"That'd be Björn, my...um. It's complicated." Why he couldn't quite say the words and admit aloud to another soul that Björn was his ex wasn't really something the blond wanted to think about. Not right then and there, with Ash purring so pleasantly in his lap. He wasn't going to spew sadness all over the silver lady, he just wasn't. Why didn't I change my backgrounds? Then this wouldn't be an issue. Colin sighed a little bit because he knew the answer - just like he knew why his phone (and laptop and camera) were filled with photos of the strongman. Because he wasn't over it yet. He still hoped.

Colin watched in fascination as she pulled the senshi phone close, eyes going a bit wider at seeing a new - improved - phone falling from thin air. He watched her deft little paws fetch out the previous sim card and pair it with the new tech, little furry face beaming up at him once she was done. "Wow, I...had no idea they upgraded." It was sleek and new and he did as she bade, noting the icons and fiddling with the settings. "Thank you, Ash, it's wonderful!"

He made a mental note to change his background. Later. Thumbing through his very small store of contacts made him smile. He'd been a senshi for some time but he still didn't have a lot of "friends". Allies. Remembering something from the Primer, the blond quickly found and downloaded the distress call app. "It's perfect. Did it come from thin air or...like, hyperspace?" Neeeerrrd

There was a moment more of consideration for the blonde on the phone background, but he was ultimately dismissed and filed away 'For Later'. Ash could sense it wasn't an easy topic, if 'complicated' was the word he used for it. Oh well, it wasn't important right this very minute.

The silver cat puffed up and preened as he adored his new phone, playing around with it like any true GenY child. Her gaze was approving, and just a little bit prideful.

"I made that upgrade, you know. The ones were so outdated! It was a shame for so many people to have smart phones in civilian life and then be downgraded when they powered up." She hummed as she watched, her tail flicking gently from side to side. Her small head tilted to the side and she laughed, waving a paw at him.

"Its not thin air... Mauvians have something of a subspace pocket, didn't you know? And we can create small objects by concentrating. I just created the shell and used the 'brains' from your phone to put into it. Senshi have subspace pockets too, its where your phone and pen go when you're not using them. We just have a little more access to it than you do. I've been storing old phones in mine, as well as bits and bobs of electronics and such. Any Mauvian can upgrade a phone, if they know how, so if you find anyone else with one of those old things, you should send them towards a cat."

A wide yawn cracked Ash's jaws and settled herself more comfortably, full, warm and comfortable in his lap. Sitting like this reminded her of Thraen and how accommodating he had been that time, to allow her to sleep undisturbed on his lap. Her senshi boys were Good Boys, and she honestly couldn't be happier with them.
