㊬Bio↔ Mumei had it rough when she was younger. Her mother and father were upper class civilians that had quite the fortune. They were well loved and Mumei was the gem of many peoples eyes in her home town. The child was four when her parents began training her to master her chi. It was at age five that she learned to commune with earthen spirits and age six was spent balancing the life of an heiress with the life of a mirage master-in-training. She lived the life of an heiress up until she was about seven years old when one of her fathers deals turned sour. A band of mercenaries invaded her hometown and burnt it to the ground under orders of her dads old business partner. Mumei was knocked unconscious in the chaos and carried away by her mother. The woman managed to make it out of town and hide little Mumei in an earthen cave but died shortly after from internal wounds.
Mumei was unconscious for a while and by the time she came around her home, her city, everything had been burnt to the ground. The screaming and gleaming of metal swords still lingered vividly in her mind. She couldn't recall anything about herself outside of having been in the town. Mumei remembered nothing about her mother who was a corpse just a few feet away. The child couldn't even recall her own name. When the investigation began Mumei ran from those who came. She saw their blades and panicked. She didn't stop running until her legs gave out. The little girl was in tattered clothes and lost. She barely knew where she was much less where to go. The family fortune was forever lost unless someone by chance recognized the little girl that very well should've been dead.
Time passed and Mumei eventually found herself in an orphanage. She behaved differently from the other children and often sat talking to trees and flowers. The care taker noticed this and often warded potential adopters away from the strange child. Mumei was legitimately practicing her communication with the earthen spirits without realizing what the purpose was. In her jumbled mind they were imaginary friends that had brought her to this place. They were the strange little things that even helped her leave the orphanage when the caretakers treachery was discovered. The spirits have guided Mumei since as she wanders the world some how surviving off of strange luck.
