Vilurin had been wandering again, such was his nature. The Goldenleaf herd had set up camp for a few days, preparing for the lantern ceremonies that were due. He shuddered slightly at the thought of taking the test - leaping through the bonfire to emerge unharmed. He had been intended to take the test himself years ago but was too afraid for his hair was the colour of moonlight behind a cloudy sky and he was certain the sun would punish him for it. He jumped over a fallen log, shaking the thoughts from his mind. He had accepted himself long ago and, even though, some gave him strange looks or a wide berth; he was accepted in the herd and that was all he wanted.
The sound of water came to his ears and he realised how thirsty he'd gotten. He made his way towards the stream and took a long drink, gasping at the refreshingness of it. He continued on his wandering, glancing this way and that and the new sights. It was interesting how different the world was depending on where you were. He was fascinated by it and so engrossed that he missed the large thorny bush and walked right into it. He called out and looked at his leg, blood trickling down at a steady pace from a gauge. He pulled himself free of the bush, earning a few more scratches and limped around for a few moments before he sat, his leg too sore.
He'd really gotten himself into trouble this time. "Aurelius!" He yelled, though he knew no one would hear him. He'd wandered too far.

Aiushtha had been following the stallion. It has started off as surveyance - he was, after all, stomping about in her forest. She watched as he unwillingly trampled saplings, helped himself to her berries and made a real mess. She huffed and puffed as she tried to repair his damage, following the trail he left behind. She caught up with him at the lake and was seconds too late in calling out as he headed into the thorny bush. She knew he was hurt bad before he did, it seemed. She had experienced the bush herself and would have scarred were it not for her quick treatment.
She considered leaving him to figure it out for himself for a very brief moment before she chastised herself. She hadn't been raised to be spiteful. He didn't know any better. Still.. She chewed her lip. He didn't seem dangerous but looks could be deceiving.. His cry for help broke her thoughts and she was out of her hiding spot in an instant and by his side one more.
"No one around here," she said, examining his cuts. "Just me which is actually lucky for you," she frowned as she examined the initial cut. The bleeding had slowed but it was still weeping. Her tongue clicked against the roof of her mouth. "Don't you look where you're going?"

Vilurin heard the mare before he saw her and he shut his eyes tightly, thinking for sure it was a monster coming to finish him off. He peeked open with one eye at the sound of her voice and then opened the other, blinking in surprise. He winced as he pressed a hoof against the cuts and sucked in a breath. He wasn't sure what hurt more - the bush or this mare's poking. Still, he endured it. He had seen the healers in the herd at work and she seemed as confident as them. Lucky indeed.
Her question smacked him in the face and he turned away, embarrassed. "I was distracted," he mumbled, shifting around a little. "Never been here before, was trying to see it all."
