But, he also compares himself to the sun itself, and has a bit of a habit of looking at himself in the mirror a bit too much.
To say that the man has a bit of an ego problem would be a mild understatement, but his overconfidence branches out to only two things: his looks and his ability to play the saxophone, even if his knowledge on music extends to other instruments. He isn't so bold as to loudly proclaiming himself a master in anything else. He's a flirt, and never fails to make passes at any, legal, gal or guy that catches his eye; nor get up in personal, for he seems to suffer from a lack of 'personal space'. Apollo, though cautious of more sharper words, won't hesitate to speak his mind, though he does know the time and place for certain comments. He's no stranger to sarcasm, and speaks it fluently as if it were a second language; in a rather playful manner, however. History: Apollo grew up into a rather wealthy household, his father a successful businessman in the sales industry. The man's work was his life, and he was often gone from the house for long periods of times-- to the point where, growing up, he became more of a stranger than a parent. But, luckily, or rather unluckily, his mother's presence made up for his father's lack of one. As a stay at home mom, it was her job to keep an eye on her only child, and the only thing, besides a flimsy marriage, that connected her to her estranged husband. She loved the boy, and the only true way to convey this deep affection was to coddle, smother and prevent him from ever making a decision that could harm him or his future.
Unfortunately that included, but was not limited to, pokemon; the woman just didn't feel safe around tiny creatures capable of such power and destruction. Which definitely meant she was far from okay with having her own son around them. And so, Apollo grew up a very... sheltered child, at least physically. He still had television, books, and whenever they went on vacation he got to experience the real life.
He loves his mother, he really does, but once he turned eighteen he left home. Moved in with a cousin from his father's side, and did his best to shove in eighteen years worth of experiences that weren't controlled by another person, within two years. After an extensive trip around the five other regions, Apollo has come home to finally start on his childhood dream of becoming a pokemon trainer-- though it'd be a lie to say he hasn't broadened his horizons and turned to focus on more lifelong goals. Obtaining fame as both a pokemon trainer and a musician? You're killing two pidgey with one stone right there.
