Okay, folks. This is a game without DM's, so that means that you have to be able to create your own missions and jobs in order to provide your character with their goodies. The system outlined below will walk you through designing a mission or a job and running through it to get your credits or credit-equivalent reward.

Keep in mind that every post that you make earns you either (credits) or credits. If you're doing a job for someone, you might earn real credits, which can be spent in stores. If you're just training or something, you earn (credits) which are an out of character currency that you can spend on mission rewards such as crystals, crafting materials, or even valuables that can then be converted into credits. Just remember to calculate the amount of credits or (credits) you make every training session.

To further explain, if you have 1000 credits, you might go and purchase a blaster from a vendor. If you have 1000 (credits), you might stumble across a blaster or across someone who is holding a blaster that would be useful to you, and could spend your (credits) to "buy" this item (killing and pillaging the body or similar such actions).

Mission/Job Name: Self-explanatory. Give it a name. Make it catchy. Or don't. Up to you
Mission/Job Supplier: Who gave you the mission or job? Or what is the goal of the mission? For example, if you've decided to hunt down a rare lightsaber crystal, you might put your own character down here
Difficulty: What is the DC of the check required to progress in the quest?
Length: How many successful checks are required to complete the quest?
Reward: What do you get for completing the quest?

~Difficulty~

Difficulty is normally simple to calculate. Every post in a quest has a DC associated with it. That's the easy part. On an average mission, you might need to roll against a DC 10 to pass, and every successful post moves you one post closer to the goal, while failures make no progress.

A normal mission has one difficulty, but some may have several. For instance, if you are fighting two opponents of varying levels, you may have one difficulty for each of them. If you have to hack two computers, you may have two different layers of security. More complex jobs will have more complex requirements, and thus greater rewards.

The real thing you'll need from this while creating the mission is you will need to take the DC of the check minus 10 to determine the difficulty modifier.

A fourteen DC would be a +4 modifier, a 7 DC would be a -3 modifier.

When combat is a part of the mission, the way to calculate the difficulty of the fight is to add the opponent's base Health+Stamina+Offense+Defense and compare it to your character's own base Health+Stamina+Offense+Defense, subtract yours from theirs, and the resulting number is the difficulty of the encounter.

~Length~

Length of the mission is determined by how many successful posts you need to succeed. If you need to meet a 10 DC 5 times, the length of the mission is 5.

Length of a combat encounter is very simple to calculate. Take the number of either Stamina or Health of the opponent (Whichever is higher) and add 5 to it. That is the length of time it will take to disable the opponent if you dealt 1 point of damage every round. If you kill them in one attack, kudos. If you take 15 posts to drop them five hit points, you had a bad job. Sucks for you. It happens.

Length of each part of the mission is dealt to the corresponding difficulty. If you have to pass 10 DC for 5 posts, and then 6 DC for 7 posts, the 10 and 5 would be paired, and the 6 and 7 would be paired separately.

~Reward~

Rewards for jobs and missions are calculated based on the amount of credits you would receive for completing the mission. If you would like to acquire an item instead of credits, you can simply acquire enough credits to buy the item, and you will instead acquire that item. For example, if you want a hunk of durasteel that normally costs 1000 credits, simply go on a quest that would give you 1000 credits and at the end you will acquire that hunk of durasteel.

To calculate the reward for a mission or job, you must use the previous two entries, which calculated difficulty and length. To determine the actual value of your job, use the following equation:

([Difficulty]+[length])*10=credits

This means that if you want to perform a moderate task (DC 10) for ten posts (length 10) you would receive (0+10)*10=100 credits for the job or service. That's about what you would receive for a day's work waiting tables, since in this system 1 credit equals roughly 1 American Dollar.

Some jobs require multiple stages, and in this case, you will calculate all credit rewards separately. If you are waiting tables for 10 rounds, you might have the 100 credits from before, and then you get on stage to sing for tips, and you might have DC 15 for 5 posts, giving you another 100 credits. The total for this job would be 200 credits.

Fighting one opponent with
1 health, 2 stamina, and 2/2 O/D
While your stats were
2 health, 2 stamina, and 2/2 O/D
would be ((7-8+7)=6*10=60 credits

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Furthermore, for every post you make during the course of accomplishing your task, you will gain 5 credits for sticking in there.
