They were on the beaches opposite where the islands where she was born and raised many moons ago. As they had agree'd they were waiting for Rishima two days after she had met up with him and requested his aid on their behalf. Even if Jerarda has sent word as soon as she had discovered Animah's desire for children she still fretted at the elder's response. Would they be welcomed? Would they be turned away?

Fretting she couldn't help but gnaw on her thumb nail spitting out flakes of nail as she fidgeted on the spot, her eyes looking out for signs of her hybrid and dearest friend Rishima.

"He should be here soon, perhaps picking up a boat for us to travel by." Jerarda repeated for the fourth time in the last ten minutes or so. The day was fair, a gentle breeze gracing their skin, but Jerarda was pacing in front of her lover in a sense too antsy to really stay still. Too nervous to calm down. She was grateful that the weather was good, with calm waters it surely meant that good fortune was smiling down upon them.

Aminah shuffled from foot to foot, watching her mate gnaw away her fingernails and occasionally glancing down the coast line for any chance someone might be coming. "You shouldn't keep biting like that, you know." She tried to point out. It wasn't a good habit to keep, but she was too worried herself. She had tried to be optimistic. She hoped it would work out. That they could pray for a child and the elders wouldn't force them away. That things might be hard, or trying, but in the end they would work out. But now - now that the day had finally come, she could feel her stomach turning and flipping in her belly and her palms were sweaty from anticipation.

"I'm... I'm sure he'll be here." She patted her mate's arm, trying to get at least one of them to calm down. She hadn't ever seen Jerarda like this, and it was just adding to her nerves. Jerarda had always been cool, calm, collected. This was really bothering her.

As if on cue the boat that Rishima was traveling in would come into sight for the two women on the beack, with his rowing as quickly as he could. It was the day that he had agreed to meet with Jerarda and her mate and he was eager to get to the beach quickly. Though as he was rowing across he'd noticed that he was already late, the last one there in fact, and the two women were there waiting for him. It wasn't as though they'd a specific time as much as a specific date, but he still felt as though he were late, hence the quicker then usual rowing pace.

Once he'd reached the beach he gave a sighing sound of relief and hoped out of the boat, leaving his spear behind when he didn't spot anything dangerous anywhere in sight. The various accessories in his hair set to jingling as he walked over to the pair, giving a smile as he did so, "Hello, sorry if you were made to wait long." He said to the pair, giving them both a smile and a little bow of his head, not having meant to leave them standing here like this. Hopefully they hadn't been waiting for a great amount of time or else he'd feel quite bad about it since he was their escort, not to mention the one with the boat that would be getting them across.

Jerarda took a deep breath and forced her hand away from her mouth. Animah was correct she shouldn't chew her nail...it wasn't like it would help with the nervousness. She couldn't help it though as she then brought up her other hand and began to mangle that nail as well. Her eyes soon caught sight of Rishima and before she realized it she had taken several steps forward and wrapped her arms around him in a rather feirce hug. Her body still tense from all the build up of anxiety but it eased off it a bit slowly.

"Rishima you are not late we never agreed on a time after all just a day." She managed with a smile as she then dragged him towards Animah so they could be acquainted. "Animah this is my dearest sister, Rishima. He has graceously agreed to be our escort to the islands."

Aminah felt a grin bloom across her cheeks as she was introduced to their escort and one of Jerarda's closest friends. Her nervousness hadn't gone away, but it was joined by a sense of excitement and seeing Rishima made it even more real. "It's nice to finally meet you. I've heard a lot about you, Rishima."

Aminah twisted her hands, wanting to proceed, but not wanting to find out that they may be rejected from the islands.

((Sorry! Short post is short))

A little squeak of surprise escaped from Rishima as he found himself dragged into a rather tight hug, one that had him smiling, before he returned it. Was it just him or did Jerarda look nervous? He didn't know that she could be nervous, it was something that had his mismatched eyes going a little wide for a moment before he gave her a smile and a sigh of relief, "Alright, so long as I didn't keep you waiting too long." That was the last thing he wanted, especially on such an important day.

Turning to Aminah he gave her a smile and said, "It's good to meet you, Aminah, I must admit I was quite curious to see who caught Jerarda's attention to such a degree." She was a lovely woman, wasn't she? She could see why Jerarda would fall for her he thought to himself, his antennae giving a little twitch before he turned to took a step back, "I am prepared to take you across to visit with Aisha, but she will need to be unarmed and refrain from the use of any magic while she is on the islands." He explained to the pair.

Turning to Aminah he said, "I hope you don't take it as an insult, it's just a safety precaution and a sort of requirement for outsiders to come to visit." He explained, hoping that she wouldn't take it the wrong way.

Jerarda nodded her head, even if she knew Animah wasn't going to do anything bad it would be a sense of respect if she didn't go armed. "I should probably leave my spear with your Rishima, there are few people I would trust with my weapon. Besides I have my fists if I need to use them which I doubt will happen." Jerarda stated in a rush, her worry now being over ridden with building excitement.

"Should we get going? I don't want to keep the elders waiting. Do you think we will be met with spears and arrows this round?" Jerarda continued in a joking manner now it looked like her nervousness was blending in with her excitment making for an odd reaction of the two.

Releasing Rishima she walked a bit stiffly towards the boat he had brought and stood beside it awaiting the pair to follow.

She felt a blush come to her cheeks at the mention of Rishima's curiosity but then quickly fade. Aminah's eyes widened at the mention of her being armed. "Oh! No. I... well I didn't even bring my staff with me. I didn't think it was necessary on today of all days." She would never have turned a weapon on the Alkidike to begin with, but she could see the reasoning with the precaution. She was more than glad she had left it behind now though, if it would show a sign of good faith, she thought she would need that.

She nodded her head slowly with Jerarda before joining her at the side of the boat. She felt like she was stiff and tense, her legs not moving the way they should. She didn't think she had ever been this nervous before. And ever step closer to that boat brought her closer to children. And closer to hostile women who probably wouldn't like her being there. She had to wonder if it would hurt or help that she was mixed herself.

Rishima's antennae twitched before he gave a bit of a laugh, "Yes, I am sure that you would only need your fists if a situation arose though I would like to think that you won't need those either." He said, giving a little smile. He hoped that things would go smoothly and that they would be able to visit Aisha without a fight rising, not wanting anyone to get punched on what should be a joyous day.

Upon hearing that Aminah had come unarmed he gave a smile, rather happy to hear that she hadn't felt the need for a weapon. It made his job a lot easier since it meant that he wouldn't have to confiscate anything from her. One less thing to worry about when they reached their destination he thought to himself, feeling relieved about that.

Walking over toward the boat he motioned to the two of them to hop in, "Once you're both settled we will head on our way." He told them, giving a little chuckle and said, "I am sure we will be alright, at least this time around everyone is better prepared for us to arrive with an Earthling after all."

Jerarda knew if she had to she would resort to her fists, it had been a style she taught herself when she was really young, and though she used a spear now she still practiced it in her spare time. Stepping into the boat she sat down and picked up an spare oar. She had to keep herself busy else she was going to be too nervous dreading their arrival.

"I am sure you are right Rishima. I shouldn't let my worries get the best of me...after all we are both well respected by our sisters so I am positive the elders will like you as well Animah. " Jerarda stated with a firm nod of her head, though it wasn't really the elders ultimately who decided things was it? It was the great mother..the barer of her sisters they would have to pray to.

It wasn't like you could argue your point with a tree...if the great mother refused...there wasn't anything else they could really do was there?

"Do you have any word Rishima? Do you know if the elders will be seeing us in a favorable light?"

Aminah felt the sway and creak of the boat under her feet as she got in and quietly took her seat. She was full of thoughts today, some pertinent to what was going on and others... not so much. As she sat in the boat she was poked by the very minuscule thought that this was her first trip on a boat. She had never been across the sea. It was another worrisome little blip on her already nerve-wracking day.

But she perked at the mention of word from the elders. Had he heard anything? They continued to joke about arrows and spears... but for her the possibility was a little more real and a lot less lighthearted. She could feel her palms sweat a little more every time they mentioned being turned away. She leaned in, waiting for Rishima's answer, trying to keep a small smile on her face to conceal her very numerous worries.

Rishima waited for the pair to get into the boat and once they were settled in he pushed the boat into the water before hopping in himself, shaking his feet off so as not to get too much water into the boat. From the he picked up the oars, smiling when Jerarda took one of them up as well, "Thank you, sister." He said, glad for the help when it came to rowing the boat across, especially when he had extra passengers aboard.

The question posed to him had his antennae twitching in a thoughtful manner before he said, "I don't think that there is anyone who looks upon the visit in a unfavorable manner though I do feel there are many who are curious. I am not sure the exact details but it seems you did something to rile up the elders at one point?" He gave her a quizzical look before continuing, "And then you were away for a time, only to return with an Earthling mate. It sort of has people buzzing. I wouldn't be surprised in there were sisters waiting between here and Aisha who are wanting to get a look at Aminah."

Turning to Aminah he gave her a smile, "It will be alright, you're showing your good intentions after all by leaving your weapon behind, I think that will end up as a point in your favor."

Despite the fact that she was paddling she felt every muscle straining to not twitch. Hearing Rishima mention the past caused the poor sister to flinch and become irritated. The whole situation had been stupid and to say she had forgiven and let go was perhaps an understatement.

"The last time I was home...I had been asked to prove my loyalty to my sisters. It was the same time I discovered the dying forest...and ran into the Dretch. It was an unpleasant time...and not one I wish to repeat." Jerarda mentioned as she didn't want to go into great detail about how she had brought back a head in a bag, the head belonging to a creature she had caught just to scare the elders and make a point. They had thought she had gone out and murdered a shifter and she was happy to discover they didn't want blood against the other races...but she had been rather abrasive on the subject.

Paddling she glanced back to Animah, knowing that the edlers would accept her and yes still being nervous about the whole situation. Primarily them praying to Aisha...

Aminah smiled to Rishima, appreciative of the kind words and reassurance, though it did little to calm her nerves at the moment. She listened to the short story and had to wonder about what exactly had happened that day. She had never heard Jerarda mention it, and it seemed to put her in a sour mood, but her curiosity got the best of her. "What happened? Why did you have to prove anything to the other Alkidike?" She reached out a hand and touched Jera's shoulder. She was hoping the story would distract her and make the trip across waters go faster... or maybe she was hoping it would slow it down, she hadn't decided yet.

Rishima's antennae gave a little twitch as Jerarda explained what it was that had happened between her and the elders, something that made his mismatched eyes go a bit wide. So that was it? They had actually asked Jerarda of all people to prove herself to them? It seemed a little odd to him given how fiercely loyal she was. Sure, he could see them being iffy about him, he was of mixed blood and the wrong gender in some eyes, but Jerarda was different. At least in his eyes.

Giving his dear sister a smile he said in what he hoped was a reassuring manner, "I'm sure that today will be a far better day, you are coming to the Isles for a happy reason after all." If they weren't in the boat he might have even given her a hug to try to make her feel better but for now he felt it best to row the boat, wanting to get them where they were going instead of keeping them on a boat all day. Ah! Speaking of which.

"Did you want to paddle to Amara, then walk around to the Ekene side? Or would you rather take the boat the whole way? It's a bit more tiring to row the whole way but with you helping out it might make it a bit easier." He'd leave the method in which they were to get to Aisha up to his passengers. He had to admit he was a little curious about the answer to Aminah's question when she asked it, but didn't echo her words. If Jerarda wanted to say she would, if not, then he would respect that.
