There was just something so invigorating about a late night stroll through the woods that set Midnight's blood racing. She loved being out in the element that she believed suited her the best. Silent and deadly were the traits that she associated with the darkening of the sky above her. Once truly dark she loved to wander. It suited her purposes this night to be out underneath a sky that was completely dark. The stars shone bright above her but they were the only light as the new moon was invisible. The only portion of her body that was visible were the white markings that adorned her. At times Midnight cursed the configuration of completely random designs but they also reminded her that she had, at one time, been the only apple of her father's eye. It had become apparent that that position of being number one was no longer hers and thus Midnight had begun her late night sojourns.
The mare was tracking down mere whispers of a beast that might be persuaded to "aid" her in her quest to destroy both her parents gifts from the stars. A scowl lit upon her face as she recounted the doting manner in which her mother and father doted upon Castor and Centari. How could they be so blind to their other children since then? It infuriated Midnight to no end. That was why she had set out to find her own solution to the problem. She would find this beast and make a pact that would see her brothers tragically killed.
The mare made no effort to conceal her hostility in her last meeting with Castor but even her "miraculous" brother would not be able to predict the length in which she was willing to go in order to get her wish granted. In a ironic twist it would be her wish to the beast that would destroy another wisher's wish. She did not stop to think of the pain that her actions would have upon her parents. All she could think about was dancing on her brothers' bloody corpses.
But first she needed to find her quarry. Midnight's Whisper had kept her ears and eyes open to those that spoke of dark creatures living nearby. Her interest had been piqued and she was curious to find out if what she sought truly existed. She knew of the skinwalker race and had even met a cursed walker early in her life but she now sought out their darker, wilder cousins: Purewalkers. If she could bargain with one to plot the demise of her brothers well that would be the icing on the cake. She even came prepared. Earlier in the day she had sent Nightsaber on a mission to find and bring back to her a creature that would hopefully appeal to her target's appetite. If anything it might buy her a minimum amount of protection before promising a much larger meal was in store.
Spotting the rise in which she needed to ascend nearby Midnight bit back the cackle that wanted to pass by her lips. Announcing her presence before she was truly ready would be a foolhardy endeavor. She also needed to await Nightsaber's return before she could proceed.
