Methone's patrols were quiet for the night, and though she had circled the city once, she was thinking of calling it a night. Ash couldn't be mad at her if she only patrolled for a night you know, Ash would be proud! Methone was doing lots of work!

Also lots of flirting with the enemy but at the same time, It was work!

She dropped down in a abandoned part of the city, with empty buildings and quiet streets, intent on powering down when a chaos energy spiked her senses. Like Ate, it wasn't a negaverse agent. It was something a little more rooted. But not as strong as Ate either, which meant that Methone could probably handle it.

She followed it, till she found the long haired girl. "Excuse me little Miss..." Methone purred, "But isn't it past your bed time lady?"

It was Amphitrite's first night on her own without an officer to accompany her - she'd been told to stick to the quieter part of town, gather some energy if she could, not to overdo it. She'd been okay with that. She was still content to do as she was told by her superiors. The night had gone quietly, mostly uneventful. She'd drained a couple of unfortunate homeless, so even if it wasn't much, at least she was contributing something.

Then she'd felt it... an energy signature that was undeniably order. A rush of something flooded her, and she almost mistook it for anxiety at first. The corrupt senshi quickly realized how wrong she was. Anxiety was closer to fear, and this was not fear that she felt.

It would have been a simple matter to walk away and try to put some distance between them. But she didn't. She stood there and she waited, her limbs growing heavier the closer the signature came. Maybe because she hadn't come across the order yet... maybe she wanted to sort out how she felt, see the enemy face to face. Regardless, she didn't leave. Finally, she appeared; a girl, clad in a scanty uniform, her words falling like slick oil from her lips. She felt dirty hearing them.

Her chest tightened, and her muscles stiffened, rigid like a corpse. That's what she'd almost been because of the senshi - because of people like her - because of her. Angry, that's what she was; overwhelmingly, desperately angry. "Leave, " she spat, "Keep your patronizing to yourself and get the ******** away from me, white mooner."

"It's not patronizing if it's true. You, little lady, Me, older then you." Methone cocked an eyebrow, "Not the friendly sort are you? I've met an older one of your kind and she had the decency to at least talk to me." There was a moment before Methone scooted closer.

"What's your name pretty thing? Are you alone tonight?" Man she sounded like such a creeper. Was she a creeper?

The answer was yes, yes she was very much a creeper.

"I'm Methone, of the Aurora Borealis. Northern Lights if you will."

Amphitrite didn't look directly at the senshi as she sidled closer - instead, she half-whispered the words, "Gift of the Ocean." A pair of shells appeared on her forearms, the only magic she had at her disposal. It would be enough. She shifted her position, and fixed Methone with a heated glare. "I told you not to come near me -- I have nothing to say to you people, " she spat.

And yet, she kept talking. "No. Not alone. I'm never alone anymore, " and the venom in her voice was thicker as she said it, the hint of a smile appearing on her lips. Not literally; there was no one here. They were alone. A temporary setback. Her people knew where she was. Did anyone know where this senshi was?

"But you... you're alone, aren't you, Methone?"

Would anyone miss her if she was gone?

...

Had she known her before?

Quote:
Gift of the Ocean
A scallop shell shield, one half on each forearm. Shatters under one intense attack, or two/three smaller attacks depending on the intensity; can crack or shatter completely upon using them to augment a tackle on an opponent depending on how successful the tackle is. Use once per battle in the first stage.

"Wow, summoning the magic before you even get to know my name little lady?" Methone breathed out, "And that's good. One should never wander alone."

Methone laughed, "I am never alone either. I have Castor, and Pollux. Ash, she's like my guardian angel, but she's really like a cat. Guardian cat. She's super cute and all."

Methone shook her hands, "Don't worry pretty shell girl, I am not after fighting really." She paused.

"Were you a senshi before this? or did you awaken with the darkness?" She paused, "Also your uniform is so cute, it reminds me of the sea."

One of the names pricked at her like static along the back of her neck - Amphitrite wasn't sure which it was that was familiar. She didn't particularly care which. Ultimately, it meant nothing.

Just because Methone wasn't after a fight didn't mean Amphitrite wasn't. Though she lowered her arms at least, nothing in her posture ever relaxed. Even now, her stance gave away her inexperience. This was not a girl who had seen much battle, and although she'd put back on weight, she was still more bone than muscle. She couldn't remember how many failures she'd had before her capture - although she knew she had been a failure, Laurelite had reminded her it was no fault of her own. It was their fault, nothing faulty within herself.

Still, when asked how she'd become what she was - Amphitrite couldn't resist the chance to answer. "I was a senshi before this, " she remarked cooly, trying to take advantage of the height her heels afforded her. "You - your people - they left me to die. You didn't think I was worth saving. They did."

And this woman had just called her cute - it was enough to make her laugh. So she did.

The inexperience wouldn't cost Amphitrite now, seeing as the corrupt was not high on Methone's list to attack or engage. At the moment, she wanted to see if she could...coerce the senshi back to their side. Or if was worth Castor's time.

"What do you mean..." Methone's eyes narrowed, "We left you." Her eyes widened, "Are you...Hold on! Hold on!"

She pulled out her phone, looking for the message Ash had sent out. If this senshi claimed to be left, perhaps she was the one missing from the fun house!

"There was a senshi we are searching for, one of Ash's girls..." She scrolled further down messages, clearly open for attack.

Any headway that might have been made with the corrupt senshi (which wasn't much to begin with) was lost the moment Methone reached for her phone. It didn't matter what the senshi was saying. She could be texting for back-up as she spoke, or ready herself to call, sending out a distress signal - too many things.

So she allowed the rage to bubble over; her face contorted into a snarl that looked out of place on the young girl's face, Amphitrite lunged, aiming to smack the phone away with one shell-laden arm as she tried tackled Methone with all her might.

Pixie Nyxie
So sorry for any action she takes the girl's not well :'D

Methone's phone went flying, the minute Amphi's shelled arm and body connected with hers. She was too lax, too....at ease, so she went down, and she went down hard, skin that was visible scraping against the concrete.

There was a solid crack sound of her head, and she was sure she saw stars. Lights. Star light.

"No...wait...please..." She reached for the fallen phone still, "You don't understand...if your her..."

Ash had been looking so long. Her head hurt so much. God she hurt. "Please, just give me...one moment."

Give her one moment. That was all Amphitrite really heard, all she bothered to comprehend beyond what she took to be a feeble plea. "One moment?" she echoed, almost airily compared to the tone she'd carried up until then. Careless. Casual.

"Methone." She almost smiled. Almost wanted to laugh. But the urge died just as quickly as it formed, and so her expression remained as blank as the canvas she had started with in this new life. This woman had the audacity to ask her for more time. "You had five weeks, " she answered cooly, raising her fist to strike.

"Time's up."

The corrupt senshi's fist fell, the first blow of many to follow.

Pixie Nyxie
I'm sorry again and if she does try to stop Amphi it wouldn't be hard jhijrihj *rolls away*

And then Methone knew, it wasn't hard to know. Five weeks? Five weeks was when the funhouse had began.

The stars never faded and regardless of the blows, Methone fell to the ground, her phone too far out of reach for her to call for help. She could feel blood, warm and sticky as it escaped from the wounds that Amphi's shell and fist caused.

She wanted to tell the girl, they had all been searching for her, desperately so.

She wanted to tell her Ash was worried, Ash was always worried, always had been. The guardian cat cared, but she couldn't. The stars started to fade to black and eventually Methone succumbed to the pain and blows, as there was nothing else for her to do.

Before the final thought disappeared, she wished, for all there was, that death came quickly and that Castor...Ezio didn't suffer from her loss...or Eve. She hoped the two would be fine without her.

After that, Methone was still on the ground.

FrayedFlower
She's knocked out! Up to you if Amphi wants to stick around....>>

Even when Methone was already unconscious, she did not stop her onslaught. Her hits weren't powerful, but they were many, fueled by the flames of betrayal that Laurelite had ignited inside of her that day. The shells had long since broken away by the time she stopped, her fists falling limp on either side of the woman as she leaned over her, examining the damage she had done.

A drop of moisture fell onto Methone's cheek and slid down. Amphitrite wasn't sure what it was, sweat or - either way, she wiped her face furiously, banishing any trace of that lingering fire from her eyes.

The question was - what now? Amphitrite glanced at her neck, and briefly entertained the notion of pressing her hands there, tighter and tighter, until... no. She stroked the other senshi's neck idly, trying to banish the half-lost memory of bone snapping on a beach. No, she didn't want that.

One hand moved down to hover over her chest, imagining what the starseed inside might be. It would be delicate. Easily destroyed, or harvested for energy. That would be the best thing she could do for the Negaverse, wasn't it? Destroy a senshi either way, maybe bring in a harvest of energy.

The corrupt senshi bought her hand down - but it did not sink beneath the skin. Instead, her fist fell with a hollow thud, and Amphitrite bit her lip hard enough to draw blood. It shouldn't be this much of a challenge. There were a million ways to kill a damned senshi - she didn't even know this Methone! Why the hell should she hesitate?! She wouldn't be a failure, she wouldn't, she wouldn't be the girl here she was there, crying and moaning and so damn achingly lonely it hurt and --

She stood up suddenly, with an awkward scramble of her heels for purchase against the ground. Amphitrite willed herself to breathe, to calm down, pressing a hand against her chest and feeling the sensation of her own heartbeat. Why was she doing this? - she was the winner here, not this no-name senshi on the ground. That alone showed she wasn't the same girl as before. She wasn't lonely any more; she wasn't a failure.

This girl - no, she didn't know her, this Methone. There was no p***k of familiarity at all. Amphitrite glared down at her, even as she felt a touch of something that might have been pity. In some ways, she wasn't so different from the girl Amphitrite had been, was she? Naive. Blindly following the Order without guidance.

A smile spread across the corrupt senshi's face. It was sad, really.

With one swift move, she kicked the unconscious senshi hard in the side. "Let's see how long it takes them to find you, " she hissed before turning on her heel and walking briskly away. About a block later, it turned into a full run. She did not look back.

Pixie Nyxie
We can call it fin; she has problems :'D
