Moonstone's booted feet clicked softly along the vaulted hallways of the main base, her stride that of someone who absolutely knew where she was going and what she was going to do when she got there. But the reality was a bit different...she was drifting, nothing important to do for the moment. Down time.
She really didn't know what to do with herself when she wasn't working with the horses...or fighting for the Negaverse. Or training. But lately she hadn't been feeling well enough, not after that stupid senshi-tag team had broken several of her ribs and left her recuperating for two months. Moonstone was feel antsy and rusty and like she needed to be doing something more than patrolling with Wasgo hoping to bump into one of those Order-rats.
Perhaps she would find someone at HQ that wanted instruction...or something, the way Fukalite had.frayedflower I hope this works, aye? >_>

Amphitrite was recovered, even if only physically - although she liked to think she was coping pretty well to her new life. Sure, her memories still eluded her, but she wasn't all that torn up about it. What she could remember was rarely good, and why should she want to remember her life behind enemy lines? No, not unless she had something buried deep down that would prove valuable to her new allies, and she doubted it.
There were other ways to prove her worth. And one was ensuring that she made herself worth everyone's time. She wasn't exactly clear to go out and patrol on her own yet, but training and tag teaming, those were clear - and that was fine by her. It gave her a chance to not only get stronger, but to learn and develop bonds with other officers.
So she found herself wandering towards HQ more and more - the thought had occurred to her that she might come off as annoying, but it didn't really concern her. They should be happy she was so devoted to becoming an asset. If they had a problem with it - well, that was their problem then, not her's.
It was all about waiting for the right officer to approach. And lo and behold - someone with a strong aura that she hadn't come across yet just happened to appear. The corrupt senshi perked up, a slight smile slipping across her face as she greeted, "Hey."
Syrie Worked for me, hope this works too! biggrin

The dark-haired captain felt the corrupt senshi before she saw her; low-level. New. Weak. But filled with potential, as was typically the case with all newly recruited agents of Chaos. Moonstone didn't return Amphitrite's greeting smile, but she did give the young woman a long once-over, expression going from stern and unapproachable to something closer to approving.
She didn't speak until she was close enough that if she had wanted she could have easily sent the senshi through a wall. "You must be new...welcome home." So maybe she wasn't the most welcoming of Negaversers...and maybe she wanted to smash Amphi's face in for addressing her so carelessly - she was holding it in, telling herself that a new senshi baby wouldn't necessarily know how to address her, or even how to tell where Moonstone stood on the totem pole of power.
"I'm Moonstone." Okay she was trying. If they were lucky the girl would prove herself worthy in time...and if Moonstone were lucky, she'd be useful to alleviate the boredom skittering down her spine and under her skin.frayedflower It's all good for me. I am sorry Moonstone's such a creeper, she just...she's a bit broken after Alcyone zapped her.

If there was a bite to her voice, Amphitrite didn't notice it - or more likely, just allowed it to roll off of her. Instead, she smiled, dipping her head to regard her, "Thank you. I'm glad to be here, " she said earnestly. Sometimes, she exaggerated - agreed too enthusiastically, got a little too excited - mostly to better her own position than for anyone else's benefit. But when it came to how she felt about being a part of the Negaverse, that was never exaggerated. She was genuinely delighted to be here.
"Moonstone - that's such a nice name, " even if the mention of the moon reminded her of people and things she didn't want to be reminded of. "Pretty, like you." Her tone was playful, but her smile was coy. She was only observing a fact! "My name is Amphitrite, of shells." She didn't bother to say 'senshi'; look at her. It was easy enough to fill in the blanks.
"Hey, I don't want to be a bother, " hah, "But... are you busy?" she asked. "I only just recovered from - I mean, I just recovered enough to see action again, and honestly my attack's a little pitiful, so I've been training whenever I can. I know you probably have other things to do, but you seem so strong, " she was quickly learning it also didn't hurt to stroke a few egos along the way. "And I want to be able to learn as much as I can - to be useful, I mean." Among other reasons. "Would you mind training me or something sometime? - or even just sparring?"
Syrie It's cool, Amphi's less phased by creepers now than ever XD

Having a thick skin would likely stand Amphitrite in good stead, working for the Negaverse; a goodly number of the older members (and some of the less human lieutenants as well) tended to be fairly callous and/or bad tempered. Some actually ate starseeds for breakfast! The dark-haired Captain wasn't among those that had an addiction to crunching souls, but that really didn't mean she wasn't just as dangerous or inclined to ignore the delicate feelings of her comrades.
Moonstone arched a brow at the senshi's reaction to her greeting and to her name, but held her tongue in check - they wanted new recruits to be excited (or at least willing!) to be there, be working. "Nice to meet you, Amphitrite." The girl's remark about her physical appearance was noted but left to die in the air; she didn't have the time or inclination to think beyond her tasks and hadn't for some time.
"I am always happy to assist with training and as it happens I am currently free." She narrowed her dark eyes at the senshi and stepped in closer, shoulders tight with repressed violence. "Flattery will do you no good where I am concerned. I do not pull my punches, even with training. If you truly want to learn, to be of use to Chaos, and are willing to bear pain for your craft...I will train you."
"But if you are not prepared to sacrifice, I suggest you give up your starseed now and save me the effort." Okay maybe she was coming along a bit strong, but she was pretty done with the whole idea of training newbies only to have them crap out because it was too hard or whatever.

Amphitrite's smile did not falter, not did she flinch away from the captain's harsh words. If anything, her smile grew warmer. "With all due respect, Captain - and I'm not saying that just to say it, I mean that - I've already given up my starseed to our cause, and knowing what I do now, I'd gladly do so again, " she said smoothly, pressing a hand to the hole in her chest for emphasis.
"I've died once already because the senshi thought I wasn't worth their time to save. But the Negaverse took me in and gave me a second chance when frankly, I didn't deserve it. Laurelite saw something in me when the senshi couldn't - the people who were supposed to be my people. I want to be worth that energy, for you - " and she gestured to Moonstone, and the Negaverse as a whole really, "- and for me. Any pain in the world is worth that."

She might have looked delicate and weak, but clearly Amphitrite had some steel in her spine and she rose a bit in Moonstone's estimation. If there was one thing that the dark-haired Captain could appreciate in new converts, it was an unflinching belief that they were where they should be. It genuinely pleased her and for the first time since they'd come together the woman's expression took on a slightly warmer aspect. This was how their recruits should be. This girl, this senshi...if her pretty words were more than just that, she was exactly what the Negaverse needed. That she would prove worthy...well, that remained to be seen. But perhaps there was hope. Moonstone's mouth curved into a hint of a smile. "In that case, I would be pleased to give you instruction." It would require them finding either an unused space within HQ...or going back out into Destiny City - either was fine with Moonstone, so she would leave that choice to the girl. "Do you have a preference on location or kind of training? If you wish to learn better means of draining energy I would suggest returning to Destiny City. Otherwise there are spaces here that can be used." frayedflower +1 to Amphi! Good job impressing Moonstone~

Amphitrite's smile had never once wavered; however, once she realized Moonstone was affording her a grin, the smile traveled up to her eyes with a spark that, while it had always been there, grew all the brighter. "Preference, " she echoed thoughtfully; although she already knew the two areas she needed the most assistance in.
"I know I've got a long way to go, but my most pressing concerns are effective energy draining and physical prowess, especially self-defense." If it sounded like she'd given it a lot of thought, she had. What else was she supposed to do while she recovered, right? She laughed sheepishly as she admitted, "My magic is primarily defensive, but I know I don't use it as well as I should, and I definitely need to get stronger. I honestly don't know how I lasted as long as I did with these noodle arms. But being strong isn't much help if I can't drain energy well." They were both vital skills, right?
Focus. She bowed her head, remembering her manners. "So whichever you feel most comfortable with would really, really mean a lot to me, captain. I'm open to whatever you wish to teach me."

As the corrupt senshi spoke, Moonstone listened intently; it was quite clear that Amphitrite had given this much thought (yet another thing that brought the girl up in the Captain's estimation) and knew where her weaknesses were, even if she didn't really know how to correct them. Admitting that was also something that she could respect - there was, after all, always room for self-improvement - and the girl showed an eagerness and wont to learn and be more than her current weak self that was gratifying. "I will help you with both, but I think perhaps it would best serve you to work first on your physical prowess. While it may feel less important to energy gathering, doing so will afford you bodily strength and techniques to help make energy draining come easier to you." Defensive magic could be useful - it had it's place after all - Moonstone was an aggressive fighter but had no problems being paired with a defensive specialist when needed. "But first, tell me about your magic, Amphitrite. We may find it more useful than you might imagine." And meanwhile she would mentally be contemplating where she wanted to train the senshi - out in the city they might attract senshi (which wouldn't be that big a deal, really) but in the HQ they could work uninterrupted. So. HQ it would be, likely.

Man, Amphitrite could really double as a Christmas tree the way she went around lighting up like that. "Oh thank you, " she breathed out, but cut the gushing short since the last thing she wanted to do was interrupt. But she nodded eagerly along with what the captain had to say, because of course, all of that was true. "No, I completely understand - if I can't defend myself properly, then what good would it be to gather energy when someone could just come beam me in the face and take it all back. The two things kind of go hand-in-hand, right?"
As for magic, well; that was easy to demonstrate. "Here, I can show you right now - Gift of the Ocean, " and even if the corrupt senshi said it with minimal gusto, it didn't stop the pair of scallop shells from appearing, one on each forearm. She held them up with a small, sheepish grin and a light shrug of her shoulders. "The good thing is they don't really up and vanish or anything, or they haven't yet. So it's not a timed magic."

If only one thing could be said of the corrupt senshi before Moonstone, it was that she burned brightly with zeal for the Negaverse. That wasn't nearly enough to keep her in the captain's good graces (or even advance her through the rank and file) but it really was a damned good start. Also, she seemed willing to keep her exuberance in check when it was prudent to do so, which meant she could apply that to a battle - change her tactics as needed - and that was a wonderful sign.
"Precisely. And believe me, those Order bastards would do it without a second thought for you and what your needs might be." While it might have been true that not all senshi were horrible Order-obsessive beasts slavering over a past that didn't mean jack-s**t to the current world or it's people, enough of them fit that stereotype that Moonstone felt no qualms using it with the girl before her.
Amphitrite's little demonstration caused the dark-haired Captain to raise a brow. It was...interesting? Scallop shells? And what the hell were they good for? Ah, yes, it could be thrown or used to gouge out people's eyes or other soft parts...among other things. "Certainly good to know. I am certain we can come up with ways to make good use of your magic." She said we with purpose - she and Amphitrite and the Negaverse at large. "Come with me. I know a quiet place we can spar."
Moonstone nodded and headed off, guiding the corrupted senshi a short ways from where they'd met to a small but open area that had the look of many a rough landing from sparring sessions. She'd used it often herself...and it was where Linarite had trained with her before. A good, solid place to train within the HQ.

When it came to the Order, although the corrupt senshi's smile did not falter, her eyes grew cold and no longer suited the curl of her lips. "I know, " she echoed with a kind of light, detached bitterness that teased at a much deeper, exquisite kind of disgust for the senshi and what they stood for. After all, none of them had spared her a single thought before, and that had been when Amphitrite was supposedly a 'friend'.
Of course, the darkness in the senshi was gone as soon as it came, and she had brightened again by the time she murmured some words of thanks to the captain and trailed along after her to the training spot - for whatever it had been meant for before, it was definitely a training spot now. "I'm ready whenever you are, " she declared, trying to put herself into some sort of defensive position because let's face it, it came more naturally than anything else. Moonstone had said they could figure out some use for her magic - and in Amphitrite's world, 'useful' had become one of several super key words to live by!

There was something in the way the girl spoke with regard to the Order faction that sent off little 'warning' flags in her mind - there was definitely something there - perhaps she had been wronged by her "fellows" before joining the Negaverse? It wasn't a far-fetched thought at all; while some of the senshi were all Kumbyyah camp-fire stupidly willing to join the fray for one another, there were a few individuals that were slightly more intelligent. Those ones wouldn't raise a finger for their 'fellows in drag' and interested Moonstone quite a bit. Non-corrupted senshi causing distress and strife within the Order faction? Zinkenite would have loved that.
Moonstone? She was more interested in the hands on parts than in the intelligence sections, but she could at least recognize the benefits. Amphitrite settled into a defensive stance that wasn't bad - but it wasn't really good either. "Not bad, you'll want to change how you hold yourself based on your enemy's attack. If they come low, keep your arms lowered, so you can block a kick or uppercut. Higher to cover the face and head." Moonstone took a moment to demonstrate what she meant for each, then waited for the senshi to adjust a bit before coming at her bare handed.
Normally she would have brought her weapon in, but she was trying to teach, not kill. So she went slower, telegraphing her moves and speaking aloud - the Captain wasn't the best fighter around for this sort of thing, but she could at least explain how to intuit when and where to use those defensive shells, dammit! Slower, but without reducing her striking power much, so Amphitrite was going to get a few really hard 'taps' now and again, as well as being pushed back in the area if she didn't circle and dodge properly.
After she'd worked the senshi to a sweat, Moonstone called for a momentary break. "Catch your breath a moment, then I want you to come at me. Give it all you've got, don't worry about hurting me." Be fearless, young senshi. Fight and redeem your kind for the Earth and for our glorious Leader.

Amphitrite nodded along with what Moonstone was saying, and mirrored her to the best of her ability, practicing the motions and adjusting herself as needed. By the time the captain came at her, she was mostly ready - and to her credit, the corrupt senshi actually did a pretty decent job of blocking in the beginning. A few taps got past her, especially in the beginning - although the shells on her forearms helped more than she ever would have imagined before she started (they weren't useless after all!) - but she tried her hardest not to make the same mistake twice. Her eyes were narrowed and determined, focused in a way that might have spared her if she'd given combat the same kind of attention before her capture. - not that she'd know it, much less acknowledge if even if she had.
Towards the end, she got a little more sloppy than she wanted to (especially when the shells on her forearms spontaneously crumbled away, surprising her), but that was mostly because she wasn't used to it. Even with the increased stamina that all senshi enjoyed, the sweat lacing her skin said something about the exertion she put forth. Even so, no matter how hard she was breathing at the end, Amphitrite was smiling to herself. It felt so good to just - be doing this. She knew she would get better, she knew what she had to work on. She just had to keep it up. "What's a good way - " she paused to swallow, brushing her hair away from her face as she inhaled deeply, steadying her breath. " - to make me last longer? - I mean, in fighting, " like that needed any clarification. "Should I strick with regular exercises like running and sit-ups help with that, or is there something extra I can do?"
Then, it was time to try her hand at giving out the blows. "Yes Captain, " Amphitrite said determinedly, taking one more moment to breathe before she moved back into action. Remembering what Moonstone had said about her defensive stance - high and low - she tried to keep that in mind when it came to striking. Again, naturally she wasn't the strongest, but there was heart and determination behind her "assault". If anything really stood out, it was that the shell-heels on her shoes certainly added a little unintentional pep to her kicks.
