It was a regular day for Aiushtha. She had awoken from her sleep in the early hours of the morning and set to her chores; tidying her home area on the little island in the middle of the lake - though it was not large enough that it was hard for her to cross, but it was large enough that calling it a pond did it no justice. She had a breakfast of dry fruits and nuts and bathed on the farther side of the lake. A prayer to her Father Oak was said, thanking him for his protection. The butterflies awoke around her and flocked around her; attracted to the scent of fruits and flowers.
She made her way across the lake to the shore; it was a warm day and the sun was shining through the trees enough that it did not take her long to dry and she headed off into the forest, looking for flowers and herbs and making sure that what she had planted was growing well. She came across a berry bush that had been thriving last week and seemed to be wilting today. She pursed her lips and bent to look at it, taking a leaf in her mouth and chewing on it before standing and moving on. For some reason, it was not getting enough water. She made a note to water it when the sun wasn't high enough that it would cook the plant.
Aiushtha continued on, humming to herself as she skipped through the forest, a trail of butterflies following her.

Peep, a tiny tiny fawn with a pink collar and a red heart charm around her neck, was wandering near by. Looking lost and frightened. She wasn't a normal fawn, that much was certain upon first glance, she was much too tiny to be a normal fawn. Her attention was focused on something else though, unaware for the moment about the fawn-colored Soquili near by. Peep's attention was on the form of another a short distance off, standing perfectly still, completely tangled in forest vines from head to hoof.
The tangled one was completely still, eyes closed, head slightly bowed. a tiny green creature was flitting around, pulling on vines above the rainbow-colored stallion, clicking his fangs together as he tried to get the stallion free, but was just making things worse with every tug on the forest plants.
More importantly, the Tangled One didn't seem... alive, exactly. He didn't seem to be breathing or swaying. Not an ear flick or a tail twitch to say this might be a living being. He did seem to be injured though, a hole in his side and a hole in his chest between his shoulders, both a bit ragged looking, the bit that was visible through the tangle of vines at least. There was no blood dripping, so the wounds weren't fresh.

It wasn't until she paused that she heard the commotion and she turned in the direction; having to really focus to see and understand what exactly what was happening. She noticed the fawn first, tilting her head as she thought she knew all fawns in the forest and this one was.. different. She took a step towards it and then paused as she noticed the fawn's attention draw to something else. She followed its line of site and there she saw the green.. thing - for she had never seen anything like it and had no other way to describe it - flitting about frantically.
Were it not for the stallions bright colours, she would not have noticed him tangled in the vines. And for a moment; she wished she hadn't for she could not mistake his open wounds for anything else. She let out a gasp, taking a few steps back, stumbling. She watched him carefully before she noticed that he was not moving. Her eyes flicked to his wounds again and she pursed her lips. He could truly be hurt and it was her job to guard the forest and its inhabitants.
It was a few minutes before she gained the courage to take a few steps forward. She stopped short and eyed the.. thing cautiously. "You're going to make things worse if you keep pulling on the vines like that," she called - though her voice shook and it wasn't much above a whisper. Knowing she had drawn attention to herself, she jumped back, attempting to hide behind a large trunk. She peeked out from behind it, blinking.

Creep looked over, and went to the tiny Heart-Fawn, clicking his fangs at her and waving his arms and wings about wildly at the little thing, and then flew back to the tangled stallion, tugging on the vines here and there, even trying to crawl into the wound on the stallions side but the vines already blocking it kept the little demon out rather well.
Peep watched, she took a few steps towards the tangled stallion before she jumped back again as the little green Demon 'yelled' at her and flailed it's limbs again, making the demon let go of a vine and fall onto the stallions head with a soft thud. The demon didn't seem any worse for wear though, he threw a tantrum and stomped on the stallion's head.
The stallion didn't seem to notice the green demon had crash-landed on his head, he remained still as stone, still covered in vines from Creep's attempt at helping. The trio would definitely need more help to get the stallion untangled again. The heart-fawn couldn't reach many of the vines, and the demon was just making things worse by grabbing and pulling on the wrong vines.

It was completely out of character for Aiushtha to get frustrated; she was usually a very patient mare. But every now and then situations called for a stern hand and this was one of those times. She took a deep breath and stepped out from behind the tree, making her way towards the trio in a rush.
"Shoo! Out of the way," she gently nudged the fawn and the other thing. "Do you want him free or not?" She nosed around the ground for a few moments before she found a stone large enough for her to hold in her mouth and sharp enough to do what she needed to do. 'Please don't move,' she pleaded mentally. The last thing he needed was another injury. Slowly and carefully, she slashed at the vines, nosing them out of the way. When most of them were slashed, she dropped the stone and worked on pulling them away with her mouth.
The stallion slumped - the vines no longer able to support his weight and Aiushtha bent down, nudging him gently. "Are you okay?" She wondered if he would wake or if his injuries were more severe than she thought. She chewed her lip and looked around, pondering what she was to do.

Creep retreated to a tree branch when the Fawn-colored Mare shooed him, clicking his fangs angrily at her from where he was safe. Peep tilted her head a little, and took a few steps closer, getting within required range.
The Stallion immediately opened his eyes when Pep got close enough. First thing he noticed, was he was on the ground, second thing was... Peep had grown? He blinked at the mare, and started to get up again. "Peep...? You grew...?" he asked, sounding confused as he looked at the fawn-colored mare. "How in the world are you gonna fit in my chest now eh?" He asked, yawning a bit. "This bit of forest must be really good for Fawns if you grew that quickly, Peep."
Peep just watched, still curious about the fawn-colored mare. She knew the stallion would figure out the mare wasn't his Peep soon enough.

The mare tilted her head as the stallion spoke, confused until she realised what exactly was happening. "I'm not Peep," she explained, bending so their eyes could meet. "Did you hit your head?" The previous fears of danger that came with Aiushtha encountering others was forgotten - or at least pushed aside. For now, the stallion was her patient and unless he tried to attack her, it was in her nature to help. Still, she took a slight step back, giving the stallion to catch his breath and giving herself room should she need to escape.
"How did you get tangled so badly?" She knew the vines grew thick in this particular part of the forest but she didn't think them such an obstacle. Perhaps this was because she knew these parts - she couldn't know for sure. A butterfly landed on her nose and she breathed out, sending it back into flight.

Marshmarrow blinked, "Not.. Peep..?" he blinked at her a few more times. "Great Spirits, You're a Fawn-colored Mare!" He said excitedly, and went to nuzzle her, not thinking she might get frightened by his getting closer.
Luckily before Marshmarrow got too close, Peep dashed in and leaned on his leg, making him look down. "Ah! There you are Peep," he said fondly, and lowered himself, letting the little fawn climb into the hole in his chest before he stood up again. "Comfortable?" he asked, and Peep stuck her head out of the hole, nodding at the stallion.

Aiushtha wasted no time in bounding away as the stallion came towards her. Before he could reach her to do what she thought was harm, she was off. She peeked out from behind the oak she found shelter behind and watched as the fawn climbed into the stallions chest. A small squeak escaped her mouth and she pulled herself back behind the tree. She took a few deep breaths, trying to calm herself while looking for an easy way to escape. She couldn't lead him back home, but she didn't want to end up as food, either.
"It's not nice to attack those who help you!" She yelled from behind the tree.

Marshmarrow looked toward the sound of the mare's voice, looking confused. "I didn't attack you...?" He replied, then somethign dawned on him and he glaaared up at the demon. "Creeeep... Get down here..." he said in a stern tone, betting the little demon had done something to the mare Creep squeaked and flew off after the fawn colored Mare, to hide with her.
Marshmarrow sighed, and started following the little demon. "Aand here we go again... Stay close, okay Peep? No more getting that far away from me." he told the Fawn. "Creep! Get back here you little Imp!!"

Aiushtha raised a brow at the stallion's confusion and peeked her head out from behind the tree. She had opened her mouth to speak when he yelled at the imp and her cheeks flushed. She had clearly been mistaken and now someone else was getting the blame because of her. Taking a deep breath, she stepped out from behind the tree. "I'm sorry. I'm not used to being around others," she said, taking a slight step forward.
"I'm Aisuhtha. Are you okay?" She asked, referring to his earlier predicament.

Marshmarrow glanced at the Fawn-colored Mare. Aisuhtha. He smiled, but Creep landed near the Mare's legs and cowered behind her, making little keening sounds. Marshmarrow gave the little demon a stern look, but then returned to seeming happy enough. "Yeah! I got a vine looped around my head earlier, but judging from how many where around me when I woke up, Creep was up to his tricks." he said, starting trotting over. Peep, the tiny fawn, remained in the hole in his chest, taking up nearly the entire opening there. "Perfectly fine, see?" he asked, stopping still plenty far from the mare and turning in place. his wounds were more visible without the vines in the way, the hole on his side showed part of his ribs, his tail was mostly bone with hair hanging off the last half or so, and there was a rip in his back, but none of that seemed to bother him in the least little bit. His eyes were strange too. Pink where there would normally be blue, or brown, or green or grey, and black where there should have been white. Definitely not normal wounds, and definitely not a normal stallion.
"My name is Marshmarrow. That little trouble-causing imp there," he nodded to the imp. "Is Creep, he's my familiar. And this little Lady," he nodded his head down slightly at the tiny fawn. "Is Peep. She's my heart. You look a lot like her. Well, if she had blue eyes and was taller at least." he smiled, and started to move closer, at a slower pace this time, so as not to startle the mare so badly this time, hopefully at least. She seemed as skittish as the deer she resembled, but at least the deer didn't run when they saw Peep with him. "It's a very pretty coloring for a mare. Looks like you got some companions of your own too." He said with a chuckle, meaning the butterflies.
