It was noon and Yálie had been wandering for some time; trying to find a sign of anyone or anything that might interest her. At current, she was seated in a clearing, nose pressed against the ground as she watched a colony of ants at work collecting food and repairing the damage to their nest that her hooves had caused (unintentionally, of course, for Yálie had come to understand how much work and planning went into the nests). As fascinating as it was to her, it was something she had already studied and something, for the most part she'd already come to understand.
With a sigh, she flopped over and huffed before coming to her feet, trotting around - carefully, for she was still mindful of the ants nest - and looking this way and that. She stopped suddenly and looked at the sky peeking through the break in the canopy.
"Am I doomed to wander bored for the rest of my life?"
Perhaps a tad dramatic but she had not been in such a funk since leaving on her own and she would feel pretty foolish giving up her home life for a few months of entertainment and knowledge. She wasn't ready to go back - still wasn't sure if she ever would but at least she had friends there..Kaitaia SO SORRY. I SUCK AT STARTERS. HI.

Another beautiful day! Cabot was really having a great string of luck where the weather was concerned. Not that he minded when the weather wasn't nice, storms and the like were a whole other adventure. It was just always really nice to feel the warmth of the sun on his face and the gentle wind in his hair. He lived for days like this.
Trotting through the forest, he hummed a little shanty to himself. He was alone today; Mathew had gone off for a flight of his own. Cabot didn't mind, he loved the bird dearly, but sometimes it was nice to have some time to himself to enjoy the beauty that was around him...
And speaking of beauty! He spotted a rather lovely mare in a clearing up ahead. Putting on his most charming grin, he made his way over to her. "Why hello! Beautiful day, isn't it?"LOLTERNATIVE TRUST ME, IT WASN'T ANY WORSE THAN WHAT I WOULD'VE DONE SO YAY!

Yálie was snapped out of her wallowing at the arrival of another and she turned in his direction; peeking cautiously before a smile crossed her features. He seemed nice enough - if she judged on appearances alone - and she gave a nod in his direction, taking a small step forward. Perhaps this was the universe answering her call for boredom relief. She almost choked on the thought and had to disguise it with a clear of her throat.
"Indeed it is! But I do believe it will rain in a day or so."
She glanced up at the sky, looking for any sign of clouds though she knew she wouldn't see any. But they were forming, she could tell. Her eyes met his and the soft smile made an appearance again. "My name is Yálie. Don't see many in this part of the woods. What brings you here?" She asked, taking a step to his left, eying him.
