The texts arrived two full days after brinner, mostly because Abbi had recently developed the bad habit of sometimes forgetting that staying up for an entire night did not mean the next day counted as the first. It was a major oversight she was having trouble reconciling, mostly because she was methodical when it came to numbers like this, but she was trying her best with the resources she had. But two days it was and Nora would receive a few notifications on her phone. medigel Text to N7 MamaHi hi! (ノ^_^)ノ Thanks so much for hosting brinner, it was SO DELISH! You cook like the bestest person ever wowee 。(⌒∇⌒。) Did you learn to cook like that before Deus? (⌒▽⌒) I mean probably yeah def but did you go to culinary school???? Quote: Text to N7 MamaAre you busy? You made us such yummy dinner I wanna take you out! Maybe??? I mean, IDK if you have leave or not! If you don't... That's ok! Quote: Text to N7 MamaI have like 3 bottles of wine. 旦_(・o・) You can have one of those if you can't go off Island for dinner lol Abbi was definitely not hitting on Nora, but for all her attempts at trying to get Sempai to notice it might appear that way.

"Nora, sugar, your phone--"
"Yes, I have ears." She rolled March 10th's arm off her with some effort--the bulky Sun had to have a protein powder jug as his bedfellow--and snatched her phone up.
March 10th snuck his arm around her again and grinned as he pulled her closer. "You a busy gal," he noted with amusement as he tucked her hair away with his other hand. "Seems that thing's always ringin'."
He then paused their movie as she read the incoming messages. After a few moments, realizing there was more than one this time, he piped up with, "I thought we'd agreed no cell phones during the show." The vibrate was still loud enough to be noted with each message.
"Sorry, dear, this one's important." She hid her smile at the praise form Abbi and began to extricate herself from his grasp. "We'll have to continue another day."
"But--"
"Tomorrow." The smile came out as she touched his cheek, sympathetic but firm. "I promise. After lunch?"
The man made a face, but ultimately he understood that what Nora said went. "After lunch. You owe me, though," he tried to joke, "having someone else cut into our time like that."
"That isn't how this works, pet, but decent go." It was adorable when someone tried to change her deal, even as a passing tease. Nora allowed no inch to be taken when the person was new; some might decide a mile wasn't far enough later on.
She cupped his chin in a manner she might have tilted it up, as though he wasn't taller by a few inches. "You and your charming looks got the better of me today," she chided him with that indulgent smile, and the effect she wanted happened: the Sun's mouth twitched, an unconscious tic of his when he was happy with something. "Naughty thing. Tomorrow, dear, I'll keep my word: no distractions." She'd allow him to decide what that meant, give him a bone for acquiescing. A light pat to his cheek was followed by an even lighter kiss. "Off now."
After the door closed behind him, Nora quickly typed her response.
AyeAvast Text to Abbi:Glad you enjoyed it ; ) Self taught with some help from gran. I'm free and happy to come over right now Even if Abbi didn't mean at this moment, the excuse had been welcomed. March 10th had started to get a little too clingy with his hands.

Unaware of the going on's with Nora's reply, Abbi sat up straight in her bed and looked about her room. It was perfectly straight, as her demanding nature would allow for nothing messy or out of place, and happily texted back with no guilt about having to clean for a guest. medigel Text to N7 MamaSure! If you like ice in your wine lemme know, I'll grab some! I'll be waiting in Room 174! ^u^// Which was to say Abbi had no clue how people took their wine. She had just begun to voraciously hoard any alcohol she could get her hands on and if that meant she had a mismatch of moscato, a dry red, and some French name she was positive she was mispronouncing, that was fine. There was, in addition to the tall bottles of curly cued named wine, a bottle of flavored vodka and half a litre of whiskey she couldn't bring herself to finish. Nora would enjoy at least one of those, right? Careful to make her room seem more grown up, Abbi propped up the giant bear on her bed, as though that would diminish the fact he was an overindulged child's play thing. There was little else to do, save for change from shorts to a skirt, but beyond that the teen only ran a brush through her hair and waited.

AyeAvast Text to Abbi: No ice needed~ I'll be down in five! She was always dressed to go out save for the period directly after a shower anyway. Nora was often on the go on her own, thoroughly enjoying the second floor room but incapable of staying in it for long periods of time. Abbi's invitation was welcome not just for that, though; the brinner hadn't allowed her to properly catch up to her favorite little moon child. (Even if she did think wine and ice mixed.)
In five minutes as promised, needing only to pull her hair up in a bun and tie a thin, colorful headwrap, she was knocking on Abbi's door. "Allo, allo~"

There seemed no reason to reply to the text so instead Abbi set about getting what little she could in order. Namely, pulling out the wine and finding a nice place to set it alongside a pair of mugs. They weren't necessarily wine mugs, but they were all Abbi had in terms of drinkware. At least now she is properly considering a nice set of glasses... The knock doesn't startle her much but has her jumping into the air to open the door, laughing at Nora's greeting. "You sound like you're from London, mate!" Her accent is intentionally terrible because she's quoting a movie and doesn't at all think that the older woman might miss the reference. "I'm so glad you could make it! Come on in!" She hops away and moves to stand next to the wine bottles and mugs arranged neatly on her desk. "Sorry if like, I'm a really bad host. I'm not sure what the wine party etiquette is. They didn't give me that handbook when I got on the Island." She's joking, and to make doubly sure Nora gets it, Abbi laughs, though she flushes as well because look she's nervous cause Nora is the coolest Brit lady ever ok. medigel is this... is this an actual tag OH MY GOD IT IS????

Nora gave a silvery laugh. "Nobody's ever from London, dear, not even the Londoners," she replied, patting Abbi's cheek before slipping in. She seemed so nervous--it fed Nora's pride of course, allowed her to be gracious and benevolent as a result, but she had hoped the little one had tempered herself between the gaps of time from their visits.
Something about being served wine in mugs tickles her, and she smiled to herself as she examined the bottle. "Sit, dear, don't fuss over the etiquette. Tell me how you've been doing since the brinner."

"Kinda like New York City!" Since the city had been only a hop and a skip away growing up, it had become one of Abbi's favorite places and, because of that, she liked to think she knew a lot about it. And she wanted Nora to think she was cool enough to have an equivalent of sorts. The hand placed on Abbi's cheek makes her face warm up, but it feels nice and her mouth breaks into a lopsided smile, trailing after the woman as she waltzed into the teen's room. At the behest to sit, she does, taking the edge of her bed and only mildly blocking the giant bear plush propped up against the wall. "I'm good! I mean its been like... Two days, but I'm good!" Abbi wrinkles her nose in a lie of contentedness. "How are you? When was the last time I actually like... Saw you?" Her words are intended as a joke, something like "My! Time flies when you're training to save the world", but when Abbi considers it she begins to realize they may have only spoken previously when they met during that whole infection fiasco. How embarrassing... "Been up to anything fun?" A much safer question.

"Ah, New York City..." She sighed with longing as she poured the wine. "Been wanting to visit for a while. Cee said she'd organize something, though it's been a while since I've seen her." That was the real trouble with hunters: at any point you could get whisked away to a mission or a new base for who knew how long. "As for me, I was up at the Arctic base before I got back," Nora continued, offering Abbi the Anna mug. "Nothing interesting to report other than chapped skin and a new hatred of yetis. It has been a while, hasn't it? Terribly sorry." She took a seat on the bed by her and picked her mug up. The giant bear brought a smile to her face for some reason. "And what about you? I see you've picked up one handsome chap," Nora said with a knowing look. "What was his name again? Your doctor friend."

More in her element of subjects, Abbi perked up and couldn't help but do a little hip wiggle. "New York is awesome! I've been lotsa times!" She laughed at herself, ducking back a little after her outburst. "Sometimes I don't always use all my off Island days during the month, so I usually end up visiting sometime at the end of the month... If you ever wanna go lemme know! I'll take you to my favorite pizza joint!" And wouldn't that be so fun? Taking a true blue Brit to a hole in the wall Yankee pizza place? It all seemed very rosy and fun in Abbi's head, so she might have been beaming a little.
The mug is taken with a warm smile and carefully balanced as she moved herself back against the bear and into a more comfortable position. Normally it was hot cocoa she was working with so Abbi was surprisingly poised with the mug. "Yetis? For real? Yuck." Her nose crinkled before she tilted her head to one side, cautiously offering her mug a moment later. "Cheers?" One couldn't drink without a proper cheers!
A hearty gulp is taken and Abbi is surprised to find it doesn't burn like the alcohol she is used to. This makes her take another sip, and she is about to take a few more when she stops. Her face goes pink and she laughs, one hand detaching from the mug to wave around frantically. "Oh, Duffy? Ha ha, yeah he's handsome but uh... I didn't pick him up? We're just friends." If she concentrates on her drink maybe she won't feel so embarrassed about their trip to the beach, how it would have been nice for what Nora and Leslie insinuated to have been true. "He's super nice. Really down to Earth, yanno?" Again Abbi laughed, taking another gulp. "But we're, yanno, just friends." Always just friends.

With a clink of their mugs, Nora said, "Cheers!" and sipped as delicately as if she had been holding a proper wine glass.
"Duffy, eh," she repeated with an indulgent smile as she sat back against the chair, crossing one leg over the other. "Well, it's always good to have friends, dear, but that one I'd love to get a full physical assessment from, if you understand. Such beautiful eyes..."
She swirled the mug a little and drank some more. "The thought must have crossed your mind at some point, no?" The laughter, the repetition (just friends), the colored face, it's much too easy. She couldn't help but nudge. "Talk freely, dear, we're not in public anymore."

A weak sort of laugh left Abbi and she took another gulp. At least this stuff was pretty nice to drink, more enjoyable savored than thrown back like most of the alcohol she got for herself. "I mean, I'm sure you could ask... He'd probably, yanno, be into since you're super gorgeous and stuff." That wasn't the drink talking at all, though Abbi did flush a little when she said it. Something bubbles up in her chest and becomes a laugh, the teen sitting up a little straighter. "You guys are both mega hot, you should give it a go. I'll put in a good word for you!" She winks when she says it, even if it feels a little hollow.
Before she can stop herself she opens her mouth to say something and shuts it with a huff. { Yer too easy to read, stay still Little Bit. } Abbi fights the urge to fidget and gives a mild shrug that Viveca approves of. "I mean, like I said, super hot but... I-D-K. Out of my league, I guess." That was safe, and confirmed what Nora had guessed at without giving details. "What about you? Found anyone you like on the Island?"

She gave a silvery laugh at the poor thing's avalanche of words but didn't speak until Abbi posed her questions. And even those almost elicited another chuckle.
"Oh, like, yes, I've found quite a few," Nora replied. "But Abbi, dear, take it from one of the super gorgeous: you are most certainly not out of anyone's league. Not his, certainly not mine." Her eyes twinkled. "Why so down on yourself, hmm?"

Now it was her turn to laugh, her own a bit more harsh than Nora's. "I am totes out of your league! You're like... Totally hot and British." Abbi shook her head in an amused manner, indulging an eye roll at the thought that she could ever catch someone as awesome as Nora.
A big gulp was taken, a moment to consider if Abbi was really going to tell someone she didn't know all that well why she was so negative about herself. "I-D-K. I'm just a kid. And like, I'm annoying. And a ginger." And no one was interested in her, and she wasn't very pretty, and she was embarrassingly geeky, and on and on and on.

Ah, she loved when they started getting antsy. Negative, not so much.
Saying nothing, she beckoned Abbi to come closer with a finger.
