Name: Samantha Whele
Nickname: Sam
Age: 16
Birthday: 11/9
Sign: Scorpio
Gemstone: Topaz
Blood Type: B
Fav. Food: Chocolate
Hated Food: Anything runny, like thin soups.
School: St. Magsdalena's Seminary
Hobbies:
Reading - A book worm and a study fiend, Sam absolutely loves the written word. She basically lives at the library, and collects books from the local second hand shops and places like that. She works at a used book store, as well, which just does not help her terrible but glorious addiction. She spends a lot of her free time with her books, and whether it is reading for school or pleasure, she is always happy to dive right in. Fantasy is a fun to her as math or science, and she is always interested in reading new things, at least once. She tries to expand her horizons as much as she can through the written and printed word, though, of course, there are some things she does not enjoy when she does read them. At the very least, though, she’ll give it a try!
Singing - In the privacy of her own home or in very limited company, she likes to sing. She practices when she’s alone, or in a singles booth at the Community Center or on campus. She loves the way singing makes her feel free and half as shy and awkward as she really is. In her mind, she can see herself standing in front of a large audience, singing to their cheers and adoration, despite her real life embarrassment and how horrified something like that would really make her. She has not braved real performances yet, though she’s batted the idea of auditioning for musicals or choirs around before. Maybe one day she will make it more than a hobby, but for now she is perfectly content to sing for herself.
Virtues:
Helpful - Loves to share and help others, and does what she can to assist others when they are in need. She is a kind heart, and though she always has the best intentions, she does sometimes let her need to make things right get a bit ahead of her. (See Flaw: Good Intentions) She is genuine in her concern, though, and hates seeing others suffering or in strife. Especially her friends and family. A friendly ear and a shoulder to cry on are always the first things she offers to anyone that might want them from her. Small ‘cheer up’ gifts, to actual offers of aid to the best of her ability. She will do what she can, when she can, to the best of her ability. If she sees a problem, she tries to think up an answer to it, and pursues that answer intently, until the problem is solved. Or, as she sometimes finds happens, not.
Scholarly - Very book smart and a very good student. She is dedicated to her studies and absolutely loves school. She is basically a professional student, and spends her time taking numerous classes, working toward sometimes overwhelming goals. Challenges delight her, and she thrives on deadlines and stress, living for big assignments and essays. Her only hated effort are group projects, as she does not tend to enjoy being forced to hang out with others (see Flaw: Shy). Other than that, though, she adores her studies and being in college, and is lucky enough to have the means to continue her education as much as she likes, even if she never really finds a career in it. It is not something she has to worry about just yet, having just started her early college admission tenure (she is attending some college courses while completing her final year of high school), but she has not declared a major or even considered one, and is taking many different kinds of classes while ‘shopping’ for the right ones. Book smart is certainly a good way to describe her, as her knowledge tends to fail her outside the classroom.
Polite - She will always do her best to be courteous and polite, and offer others patience and respect. Though she can be a bit of a prissy girl (see Flaw: Dainty), Sam never lets her personal tastes and opinions get the better of her behavior. She was raised to be dignified, and she keeps that regal attitude about her as much as she can. She hates being caught outside of it or off her guard, as she does not think it polite to be… well. Impolite. She always wants to be on her best behavior, even when quietly stumbling her way through social interaction, which she hates. Though she is not exuberant and does not ask to hang out or get phone numbers, she is, at the very least, kind and well spoken, if not softly so. She will not go out of her way to cause a scene, and will always try to avoid drama and confrontation with niceness, if she can.
Flaws:
Dainty - Boy does she hate getting dirty and looking rumpled. She takes pride in her appearance and likes to be clean and put together. Dirt is horrific for her, and she absolutely abhors messy things. Mud, clay, dough: anything that could potentially get her messy, she tries to stay away from. So she does not really cook and cleans while wearing gloves and an apron. Her clothes are always immaculate, and if they aren’t she panics about it for some time, until she cannot focus on anything else. Presentation is everything, when her social skills are lacking so much! She knows this, or at least, this is what she believes in, as an effort to make up for her short comings. This, however, turns out to be one of the bigger ones, as once people get to know her and realize how much of a pansy she is, they tend to get annoyed with her. This is one of the very few ways to unnerve her enough for her to lose focus on her efforts to be nice. (See Virtue: Polite)
Shy - She can be a little withdrawn, and doesn't like making a show of herself. She would rather just not be noticed, and blend into the crowd. She does not like group work in school, despite her love of being a student (see Virtue: Scholarly). She does not like going to meetings or sports gatherings or anything that requires her to sit or be in a crowd, as she always feels awkward and uncomfortable and never knows what to say. One on one, with her friends, once she’s managed to make them, she is much better, but it takes a lot to get her out of her shell, and she feels like, most of the time, she is not worth the effort. Even with her loyal and kind nature, she finds her inability to talk to anyone or initiate contact with others too much of a hill to climb. Who would want to put so much effort into being her friend? Some had, and that should have been enough to prove her wrong about herself, but she continues to see the worst in herself, and remains withdrawn and quiet in all new situations. It takes her a while to warm up, and even then, it’s a trial for her to reach out to anyone, if she even can. Most of the time, it takes the effort of someone else coming to her for her to finally make a friend or two, at least so far in her life.
Good Intentions - She always sets out to do her best, but unfortunately, sometimes, those impulses to help others can go a little... awry. As stated above (see Virtue: Helpful), she is always keen on helping others and does what she can to do the right thing. Sometimes, however, the things she sets her sights on are not always the best solution, or even a good one, to a problem, and she can often make a situation worse by trying to make it better. While she always has the best intentions when she starts out, complications are not her forte, and she does not often consider the bigger picture when she is so focused on a small part of it. Her friendships, and people she cares about, come first, but she does not always see how her trying to help them might hurt others. Or end up hurting the people she wanted to protect and aid in the first place. Mostly, she blames bad luck, and does not seem to realize that her undoings are, for the most part, her own doing.
Senshi: Sailor Sinistra, Senshi of Brooms
Challenge: Time to clean up the mess!
Attacks:
Sailor Scout Attack: Clean Sweep! Sailor Sinistra can summon an old looking broom and with a quick sweeping gesture, send a gust of wind at her enemies to knock them off their feet. She can use this skill once a battle, and the broom cannot be used as a weapon or anything tangible. It lasts as long as it takes her to make the sweeping motion, though if she takes longer than half a minute to do so, the broom fades without her using the attack, and she cannot try again until she rests/the next battle.
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Sonic Broom! The gust of wind from her broom, now a more modern style one, is stronger in force and she has a full minute to use her attack after summoning the broom to her hand. She can also use this and her first stage attack once each in a battle. Nothing else really changes in her ability.
Eternal Sailor Attack: Over the Rug! Sinistra can now summon two brooms that can attack for her, swinging through the air at her command, though she does not have to be holding to them. It is like a scene out of Sorcerer’s Apprentice. The brooms can be broken and ‘killed’, and they will disappear after a minute of being summoned. They move in unison together, under her command.
