Raven was once more in the hospital with Lydia. She had promised to meet up with Chaonis the next day, and had already arranged to spend the night at Jett’s place…so that wasn’t any sort of issue…but.
But she didn’t want to have been in the hospital again of all places. It was just so depressing. And it had seemed like the hospital was taking over fourty million years. She just wanted to be allowed to see Lydia and…ugh. She just had to do something. Anything.
Maybe like…
Hmm…
An idea was slowly forming in the blonde’s mind as she walked through the hospital gift shop, trying to find something nice to bring the girl…something she hadn’t brought her the last time she was in this place. Finally she settled on a soft stuffed cat and a balloon, hoping they would bring some comfort to the girl…and also some color to her room.
The blonde made her way to the desk again and asked which room Lydia was in, and this time she got an answer. Finally. She could see her friend and make sure everything was fine. She rushed to the room and walked in, sighing heavily.
“That took fourty years, Lyd. I’m the one who brought you in. You’d think that they would have let me stay with you…you needed someone by your side.

For her part Lydia had been sleeping. Not so much by choice, really, but the combined efforts of exhaustion and heavy pain killers had sent her into a daze that had led into a dreamless sleep--and thank God for that. There was no telling what awfulness may haunt her dreams now, and she was certainly not eager to start reliving everything just yet. Raven's voice drifted through the heavy haze, and the ginger blinked blearily up at her before a slow, weak little smile bloomed to life on her face. It had been awful being taken from Chaonis' strong arms the evening before, and it had been worst when Raven had been forced to leave so soon after that. She'd been striped of the two people that mattered most, the two hands she'd wanted so badly to hold onto and never let go. Lydia had wept, beside herself, and the doctors had been forced to sedate her for fear that she'd hurt herself. "You're here now, it's okay." The hand not currently set with an IV was lifted from the warm nest of blankets, reaching for Raven. "Did you make it home alright?" It was impossible not to worry over them now. Painite would do something even worst, if Camelot had failed to stop her again. And now Lesath was on her awful list. "Did he?" She wasn't even sure Her friend would know the answer to this, but she asked it anyways.

Raven took her hand and squeezed it gently. “I made it home all right…it’s a good thing Jett and I are talking again, because I wasn’t really looking forward to having to get a hotel or anything…” She leaned in and kissed Lydia’s cheek. “So…I don’t know if you’re going to want to hear this…I’m sure Chaonis is all right, I’m going to be seeing him tomorrow night to talk about you, so he can here you’re okay, but…I have plan, Lyd. I have a plan and I hope you like it as much as I do.”
She pulled away from the girl, sitting on the edge of the hospital bed. She gently stroked the back of the girl’s hand and sighed. “I think you should leave the city with me. When you get out of the hospital, I want to take you to California with me…just to rest and get the hell away from that woman…Not forever, of course, but for long enough that you can heal…and maybe uh…’dad’ and son can help to get rid of the…issue…you know?”
Raven thought it was a great idea…and if there was a place to get better…California was the place. No lie. It was just so beautiful and peaceful…not to mention safe. Safe was the best thing it had going for it.

The kiss on her cheek earned the blonde a soft smile, and she held those slender fingers, clinging to them as the haze of painkillers began to recede. A process helped along as that sweet tone took on a more serious tone. Freckle kissed features pinched as she frowned, trying to work out what she was talking about. Then she was laying out her plan, and Lydia could only stare up at her, baffled, as the words bounced around in her addled mind. It took a moment for them to sink in, and in that time ginger brows drew in, effort and concern. "You want to take me away?" That wasn't exactly what Raven was offering, but that was what the red head heard. The frown grew more prominent, and she closed her eyes, a soft sound catching at the back of her throat. "What about him?" The hand not in Raven's possession rose, and she rubbed fingers along the cheek that wasn't riddled with bandages. She was trying to wrap her head around the idea of slipping away to California and leaving Chaonis here. Almost immediately the idea of taking him with sprang to mind, but it wouldn't work. They couldn't stayed powered up 24/7, and they couldn't keep in contact if they weren't. And that was another problem. The inability to keep any sort of consistent and easy contact. How many hours a day did they worry over each other when they weren't together? It hurt her heart.

“Well…I’ve thought about that for a little while now, and how about I get you guys some phones? Like a tracphone or something, where you can call one another…I mean, so long as you don’t give information or anything…it’d be safe…he couldn’t really trace you from it, and you’d only have one another’s number and I would be the one dealing with the programming the names in and…and I thought maybe if you could at least talk…it wouldn’t make the distance so big…”
Raven sighed. “That’s the best solution I can think of…but I really just want to drag you out to California…You won’t be found there, and you can actually heal completely before getting your everything sliced open. Again. Since we pretty much can figure that’s just going to keep happening, your luck sucks, Lyd.”
She shook her head and sighed. “I couldn’t handle it if I lost you…Purification is one thing, you’ll still be there…we just won’t be as close…but death…you can’t really recover from death…”

Lydia quieted down, head tilting curiously at the mention of phones. Was that allowed? How had she never thought of that before? Obviously normal phones weren't an option, but trac phones...it made sense. It made a lot of sense. You could see the cogs working in the girl's head, the realization and the relief. "That could work." She didn't want to leave. Or more precisely, she didn't want to leave Chaonis, but she could see Raven wasn't going to take no for an answer. Maybe her being out of the picture for a little bit would be better. It meant Painite couldn't use her against the Senshi of danger or his family? She just didn't know. Looking at her friend, she could see how much all of these was effecting her as well. It wasn't just Chaonis that suffered when she got hurt, it was her best friend as well. Sighing, she gave the hand in her's a squeeze. "You're not going to let me say no to this, are you?" Lydia already knew the answer to that. "You have to make sure Chaonis gets his phone first though. I can't leave without letting him know." On that she would hold firm.
