<Why we're in the library today? It's boring with just BOOKS ♥> Catherine ranted to her partner as the man walking from one aisle to another. It was after lunch, not yet the time for afternoon tea. Ace had his fingers swept across rows of the books. Object head dear, I wanted to know more of the awesome creature we met another day. He gave an answer, scanning the titles at the section for mythical stories and report written by former hunters.

He didn't realize the necklace he hung outside his pullover entangled with someone's hair when he bent to look at the lower shelves to the right of the said person. It was, until the necklace pulled him back that he noticed what was wrong. The startled face shortly restored, slim fingers worked to release the tuft free. With a gentle voice, he apologized for the trouble.

"Oh s**t."

He was busily untangled the hairs without harming them, the worst, he would wreck the necklace to free them. Luckily, it wasn't the day. Hearing someone called his name, he finally realized the victim was someone he knew. "Oh Captain, yup, that's me." He quickly affirmed. " I wonder if it's my delusion but you look different. Your hair look shorter than we first met?" He freed her hair and gave her a glance. "And a ******** cool new coat....you get promoted?"

Ace took a note of the tail of Claude's new coat, detoured to another side to scan the book titles. He thought it won't be a happy thing to have a footprint on it and he didn't find what he was looking for.

Ace wasn't satisfied with such a short answer, it literally meant nothing other than a 'yes'. "Where did you go and what was it about?" The trainee's curiosity kicked in and he couldn't help it. "I have't yet to participate in one, was it fun?" He gave Claude a look.

"Information of a certain creature I met at Haunted House, I think he's charming and mysterious and I've some times this week." So he was there, planning to get some reading materials. "How about you, Capt?" He gently tilted his head.

Ace raised an eyebrow at Claude's answer, New Zealand, a place well known for sheeps and kiwi birds. He never been to places outside the country.

"Myths section as well, I guess we can hang out for a while longer. Was your promo mission the reason for your shorter hair?" The nails in multi-chrome polishes moved idly as he read the titles and slid out one to flip the pages. "Ghost ships...like those mentioned in folktales? Is this one useful to you Capt?"

The book on his hand was called 'Cursed Forever to Sail the Seven Seas: The Tales of the Flying Dutchman'. "I only know this one and the Octavius." He continued to skim the books of the next row, "We agree to meet on a second time, so I think it's better if I can know basic common knowledge on their species. I should read something about reapers as well, I seem to be mistaken as one because of my scythe."

Ace laughed lightly, "What's wrong with that? It's not a bad thing to know more about them, I guess. This one's friendly and showed no hostility." The short braid in two contrasting colors slid off with his shrug. "He's fascinating and more interesting than some of the humans, I hold no discrimination over the beings of another world. Of course I won't let myself falling into the 'treason' s**t, after all, this's a military institution." The hand waved in a 'not a big deal' manner, nails reflecting the lights.

He turned to let a small strand of Claude's hair slipped through his hand, "what a shame," his tone hinted of disappointment. "It feels soft and smooth," he shifted his attention from the hair to the promoted hunter's face. "I'd cut their hands instead." His smile was harmless. Hard hair of his made gelling easier but sometimes he wondered if he could change hairstyle. That was the reason why he enjoying touching hairs with softness, it was a sensation comparable to girls seeing desserts.

He chuckled, "Sometimes I forgot we're no longer normal human beings and you won't be like those shallow people that tell me to hush." Suddenly, he has a lonesome whim, like a n** of bread. The mouth pursed for a moment, collected himself back for stray thoughts. "Object heads, to elaborate, surreal symbolic heads," he paused and then supplemented, "Reality is out for lunch, inanimate object walking about on an human body. Others' saying it's neither a human with a strange head nor an object piloting a human body, but rather some other entity that looks mostly human."

"Damn, I think these ancient books won't have information on this species, they are contemporary s**t, maybe I can hope for the public reports."

He gave a quick bare smile to Claude, "Depends. If they piss me off, I might. It's their fault, I won't feel guilty about it." Ace shrugged, stated his answer as a matter of fact. "Just to say, I seldom get angry anyway, not when they called me a demon, not when they scoffed I'm ill-bred brat."

"I tell you something you wanted to know, so Cap'n, divulge me more of your mysterious adventure in New Zealand. Did you bring a Quartermaster with you? What had you two do on the nice land?" He leered, chin-handed over a layer of shelf matching his height.

"Like the craved pumpkin during Halloween, a big pumpkin craved with a face and inside a candle. Smokes came out at the top , they help to show his emotions." He answered her question shortly. "He seems to have a TV -skellyvision head, like fashion, he seems to switch it out to his liking."

Ace smirked, "If you mean you can trust and go on such an important mission with him, yup, that's probably your Quartermaster, Cap'n. And I'm asking what he did with you in the mission." He said. The tall man didn't know Claude went with Chance, he was just prying more information from her. He loved stories, stories of others but not his own.
