Backdated to second week in January!

Ryan frowned slightly trying to bundle up a little tighter. The early January air was a bit murderous tonight and he was not enjoying it at all. He had forgotten his scarf at home and he had just been running a quick errand so he had walked. His mistake and he was paying for it dearly. His cheeks and nose were a rosy color and he was shivering. Ryan pulled out his phone to check the time and the temperature. It read about 27 degrees, something his was none too pleased with. He decided then he would take a shortcut through a few allies to get home more quickly.
He knew it was something that was ill advised, with the terrorist activity in the city, but was also something he had done for years and so it was a hard habit to break. Nothing had ever happened and doubted anything ever would. He quickly shoved his phone and hands back into his pockets and turned off the street down the next alley and continues on his way. This should cut 10 minutes off his walk and would block some of the chillier breezes.
“If it wasn’t for the beautiful photography it lends too, I would forever renounce this season,” he mumbled.

Cold was something Alexandre didn’t like but he had grown used to, considering how long he’d lived in this city and his current state of dress. He knew he had it better than some, especially senshi, but he was also sure he could have it better. Why couldn’t his uniform have included a nice heavy sweater? He supposed he would die in the summer, or at least pass out, and such an article of clothing just didn’t suit him as a person. But he was cold!
It could be colder, it had been not that long ago, and snow was on the ground as he moved through the white fluffs of coldness. The boots he had on didn’t help much, they weren’t insulated or anything, but at least there were no holes or wear in them where the leather was thinner in some areas and let in the chill. That was one thing he could do without - a stomach chill. Moving through the snow he let his fingers, gloved as they were, gently trail over the bricks of the alley way he moved down. His cape just ghosting over the snow as he moved.
Unaware of someone else in his alleyways he turned down another alley, to keep away from anyone who might duck down the previous one, and without thought or looking around he powered down. It was time to go home and he was planning to do just that, as well as get something hot to eat and drink when he got home.

He was just trying to get home when he saw one of them, or at least he thought it was one, what with him being dressed the way he was. He fumbled with his phone every the photographer wanting to grab a picture of the strange blonde. As he lined up the shot, though the guy on the screen clothes suddenly changed into plain clothes just like that. Ryan’s eyes went wide and he took a step back trying to melt further into the shadows. He wished that he had the foresight to record a video, but that hadn't happened. He peered out from his hiding spot, making sure his phones camera was on silent he attempted to snap a quick picture.
He stepped on a piece of plastic that crackled loudly down the alley. He stumbled quickly back, but only managed to rattle some trash cans near him. There was no way the other hadn’t heard him now. He took off running, trying to get out of the alley. While the other hadn’t looked terribly threatening, he didn’t think it was wise to attempt to tango with a terrorist.

How had he not noticed the person? There was no way that was a cat and knowing that, not knowing what had been seen, he powered up again and took off after the sound and the one who had created the racket. Spotting the figure and knowing just where they were headed he made a quick call and a moment later he had vanished from behind the other.
When he did appear again, and he did reappear, it was at the mouth of the alley the figure was looking to exit from. “Now, now...lets not go running off there shall we?” The words were low, spoken in something of a low deep voice as some parody of a smile came across his lips. “Let’s have a talk - shall we?” Offering out a gloved hand toward the figure and wondering if they’d try and run him over or attack him, either scenario was a possibility and one which he could handle.

Ryan was running and trying to not look behind him to see if the other gave chase, so when the other literally appeared out of thin air in front of him his eye went fully wide and he skidded to a halt.
“Da ********,” he shouted backing away, but not turning to run. He looked at the other’s hand as though it might burn. Why the ******** did he take a short cut, he was totally screwed. If he ever got out of this he would be taking this shortcut ever again.
“I do not know who or what you are, but we have nothing to talk about, so I will just be on my way home and we can pretend like we never met.”
He was sincerely hoping that would work for him, but doubting it highly, still he didn’t think he could run, with this whatever he was being able to mother ******** teleport. It was really all he had.

“I think not..at least not until we’ve spoken properly. You’ve seen what you should not have and I can’t have that.” He spoke calmly, with a certain amount of confidence and darkness in his voice. He was not some super hero from a comic book, that was for sure, but he might be some sort of a comic book villain or somewhere in between if there was such a character.
“I can tell you who I am...but first.” And with those words he vanished again and reappeared right in front of the other. “We must fix things. I cannot leave you having seen me - who I am as a civilian. That would be foolish on my part. So...you’re just going to have to join things.” No choice to be given, no questions asked, he reached out quickly and took hold of the taller male and brought the other to himself. With one arm wrapping about him the other, which had first brought the other to himself, he sunk his gloved hand into the others chest and took hold of what he found inside the others chest. “Do forgive me but this will be painful.”

“I haven’t seen anything at all and I’m not stupid enough to tell anyone. They would put me in a psyche ward.” He was fully ready to bolt again, completely tense, heart hammering in his chest. “Yes officer, his clothes magically change vanishing and reappearing into a whole new outfit, and then he disappeared and reappeared himself. Yes, officer, he teleported. I’d be a laughing stock.”
He backed up and turned to run when the other talked about fixing things, but he was grabbed, something he violently blanched against, thrashing about in the other’s much stronger grip. His eyes widened as the hand sunk into his chest, “shhhhhiiittttt. Mother ********,” he cried out trying to push the other away from him. “Get the ******** off, ******** …”

“Now, now, you should really mind your tongue - it’s rather unwise to give orders to a superior officer.” He spoke in a calm, though slightly scolding, manner before focusing on the task at hand. A silent apology given, though nothing outwardly showing over the upset he felt over doing this. Forcing someone else into this war, a war where the side he was on he wanted away from. How could he bring someone else into the Negaverse? How could he bring someone else into the war against their will - like cats did.
Shaking his head to dispel those thoughts he focused once more. Forcing the chaos into the other and into that starseed - he’d make a Lieutenant out of the other if nothing else. That would keep the other silent; or so he hoped.

“Mind my tongue, you got your ******** …” he started still trying to push away from the clearly stronger individual, but his words were cut off by the pain that rode out through his chest as chaos was forced into his starseed. He gritted his teeth and balled his fist riding out the pain, but the moment the pain stopped and he was still alive, he was enraged and his fist went flying right toward the face of the man in front of him.
He didn’t notice the cold that suddenly brushes against his legs and seeped into the skin of his now half bare legs. No all he knew is he really wanted to beat the s**t of the mother ******** in front of him. He didn’t even notice the new sense he gained, the one that would have told him, the man in front of him despite being smaller would wipe the floor with him.

He however had noticed the change in the other in front of him, having watched the change in clothing, and he could sense the other now in a way which he had not been able to only moments before. While he had been admiring his work, all the while feeling sorry for what he’d just done, he missed the fist flying toward his face. When it did connect it surprised him and gained a surprised loud from him that also hinted at the pain of the hit.
“”You would strike the one who just gave you power...and fail to notice the power which I hold.” He managed whilst wondering if he should just smack the other in return. it was a moment later that a gloved hand came lashing out at the others face, a retaliation that was suddenly decided upon. “Now, since I have your attention I would advise you cease your behavior and sense what is in front of you - then decide what you should do.” What was smart to do.

Ryan barely heard the other’s words for he was still raring and ready to strike again, until he was soundly slapped and it felt more like someone was trying to KO him. He looked at the other, finally hearing his words and feeling the sense of power wash over him. The power was coming from the guy and front of him and his eyes went wide. He took a step back slightly confused and with a decent amount of fear.
He looked down at himself and noticed the change in clothes and shivered slightly. He looked to the other sheer confusion on his face. “What … what did you … what did you do to me?”
He glared at the other despite being somewhat calmed and not wanting to fully anger the other because he felt dark and strong. “I’m ******** cold a*****e. Shorts, really, its the middle of winter.”

“I didn’t decide on shorts - that is fate. My own uniform was chosen without my consent as well as is everyone elses even the knight and senshi.” He stated while looking to the other and calmed as well he reached out and took hold of him. Drawing the other in close. “Lets find a warm place.” And he rarely did it but he teleported into his own home with the other. In the living room he let go of the other and stepped back to power down. “Focus on what you were wearing before this - before I corrupted you.” The instructions were swift even as his dog came running down the stairs yipping and barking. “I’ll get you a drink and explain things to you.”
Dangerous and powerful as he was he was also a proper enough host and was willing to offer drinks and food to guests. “There is a lot to explain and you can’t leave till then - you need to learn or you don’t face a good fate in this war.”

Ryan frowned at that and was further confused, wondering what the hell a senshi was. Knight he knew, everyone knew what a knight was, but a senshi. He looked down at the outfit and huffed slightly, but was happy at least he didn’t look like he stepped out of the Victorian era. He eyed the other warily before the other was grabbing him again and taking him someplace warm?
He barely blinked before he felt warm air prickling his skin. He quickly back away from the other. “******** stop with the grabbing, and touching. I. DO. NOT. LIKE. TO. BE. TOUCHED. Wait did you say corrupted … that word itself … corrupted ...”
He sighed however and focused on what he was wearing before, which wasn’t easy to do with the dog barking and making so much noise. After a moment he was once again in coat and pants, no longer with the extra sense he had a moment ago. He followed after the other.
“You corrupted me into a got damn war without my permission … and all because i saw you do your presto chango, something no one would have believed me on anyway.” He narrowed his eyes at the other though he kept a wide berth from him. “Like hell I’m going to stay here with you. You ******** corrupted me … what even are you anyway.”
He was curious and he was nothing if not an opportunist. He felt the power the other had and heard the other when he said that he’d been given power. He despite saying he wouldn’t stay did indeed appear to be waiting for an explanation. He might work for them maybe.

While in the kitchen he heard the other speaking and decided to respond, raising his voice to do so. “You may not like to be touched but you can’t teleport on your own, not until you reach Captain level. To teleport you I need to be touching you, and I’d prefer holding a person close so they don’t get too jarred on the landing.” Since he was used to that after all the time he’d been Captain and General and all the teleporting he’d done. It didn’t phase him anymore, it had lost it’s wonder but it was still useful as could be.
“Yes, I did say corrupted. you now have chaos in your starseed and it gives you power. Now what would you like to drink?” he questioned the other from his place in the kitchen, grabbing a small bottle of v8 juice for himself. “Yes, I did and yes it was because you saw what i did. I can’t risk you telling people and I couldn’t risk you being some knight or senshi.” And had the other been either of those things...well things wouldn’t have gone as they had. He wouldn’t have a Lieutenant standing in his living room. Peeking out into the living room he sighed. “Now power down please. I don’t need some senshi or knight sensing you and coming pounding at my door. While I could easily handle the situation I’d prefer not to have to clean my carpet - blood stains are difficult to remove.” Shaking his head he ducked back into the kitchen.
“Given the news and what they’ve shown I’d say they might just believe the story. Magic and people with all kinds of uniforms running around this city. They might very well believe it. They wouldn’t believe being turned into a cat, talking cats, or winding up in space but what you saw they might believe.” And he wasn’t about to take that risk, he took risks fairly often but this was one he didn’t care to take.
“Now what do you want to drink? And something to eat or no?” He asked stepping out of the kitchen, bottle in hand and sipping lightly from it. Slate eyes focused on the other. “I am a General in the Negaverse - Benitoite. You are a Lieutenant and have much to learn if you want to stay alive and gain more power.”

Ryan thought that it really sucked that he couldn’t teleport and despite know it would get him places quicker he didn’t think he would be teleporting again soon of his own free will anyway. He was none too interested in the close contact. Not only did he not know this guy, he just never cared for such invasions into his space. He couldn’t help, but to frown at the information that was being fed to him. Chaos gave him power, that didn’t sound like the best thing, but at the same time the power the other had was something else.
He didn’t really want anything to eat or drink and any time he made to answer a new thought or question popped into his head as the other spoke. “What is this senshi you keep mentioning and blood … you’re going to kill a knight? Or one of those senshi things? For ******** what … you just dragged me into a nightmare.”
He groaned turning back around from the door of the kitchen and flopping down on the other’s couch. “And you Benitoite … what kind of a ridiculous name is that anyway …” He sighed, “I digress, you think because you made me one too I won’t tell them anything despite your just telling me the police may very well believe what I said and you technically, just kidnapped me.”
He scratched his head and sank back into the couch giving the general a withering glare, “this night is fully ******** up. I don’t want anything at all, so you can stop asking. You have given me what sounds like a death sentence … I suggest you start teaching because I have no intention on dying and its sound like i'm already up s**t creek knee deep.”

“Senshi are...reborn alien souls. They are born into bodies here and now and have magic, different from ours. Knights are similar. Reborn souls in bodies here but their have items with some form of magic...they are what we once were - in a very distant past. They are the...good version of us while we are their opposite.” He answered after some moments of thinking his answer over. “As for why...that’s as complicated as this whole war to be honest.” Crossing his ankles as he relaxed against the door frame he closed up the bottle he was drinking from, holding it between his legs, and stripped off his shirt. He had no problem being in various forms of undress in his home - it was safe and it was his home.
Ink littered his upper half and his arms, ivy leaves and vines, thorns decorating the vines of ivy, while he had something showing, something different, hidden mostly by his pants. He was toned for someone as petite as he was, years of working out and fighting. But along with the ink were some scars from those fights, with the fighting he’d done it would be impossible to come away without a single scar or mark. “Benitoite is a mineral - every office is named for a mineral.” Speaking of which. Pushing off the door frame he headed into the living room with ease and went for a book he kept down here, for times like these. Where he kept dvd’s lined up like books was an actual book. The book was on minerals with pictures and various other information. he also had a book on stars, planets and other bodies found in the cosmos and their names. “You will need a name.” He stated while holding the book out toward the other. “Or should I decide?”
Shaking his head, book held out, he smiled at the other. “As you are now you are indeed up the creek. However I have no intention of letting you die or having you be as clueless as some of our opposition are. If you don’t exercise you might want to take up doing so. Running, jogging, the gym and weight lifting - anything. It’s a good idea and learning to fight or defend yourself.”

Ryan sat listening to the most ridiculous idea her ever heard. Aliens … if anything, right now he was thinking the other in front of him was an alien or something. Whatever, it was too late now wasn’t it. “So you’re saying you basically just made me bad or rather a villain. You’re not selling this very well you know. If you’re going to corrupt people you might want to get an better more coherent story. You have to sell it. Like in photography, not gonna look at it if it doesnt first catch your eye.”
He watched the other for a moment despite the other deciding to be shirtless for whatever reason. Whatever, if you got it flaunt it and all that. Ryan didn't care, not that he didn’t eye the tattoos curiously, wondering about them. At the book handed to him he hmmm and shook his head not taking it, “a mineral huh, pick whatever, just not something ridiculous.”
He laughed a little when Benitoite said he have no intention of letting him die. This whole situation was weird, and bad and he wasn’t fully sure what to even make of it, but he was accepting it for the moment because he wasn’t sure what else he could do other than outright ignore it. “I’m really doubting at the moment that you can keep me alive and I’m active. I’ve done a couple triathlons though the last was at least a year ago, but I run, swim, surf and bike, a little of anything that not a contact sport. As for fighting, not to big on contact clearly, but I’ve been a fair number of them. Though you all don’t teach your inductees to fight, seems a little a** backwards.”
Ryan was entirely too comfortable as he leaned forward resting his forearms on his thighs. “So who’s winning this war because just talking to you for a few moments I wouldn't guess it was, your or I guess our side.”

“We might be chaos, and we use the term corruption, but we are not the bad guys.” They weren’t and yet they were, but he wouldn’t say that. He knew what was to come if things continued as they were. They were the bad guys, and would be then too, but they weren’t that bad now - there was still time. There was still time to try and keep the Negaverse from going down that path but ow? He couldn’t go to anyone else and see if anyone else felt as he did; too much danger. If he asked the wrong person his life was as good as forfeit and he had no intentions of ending his life just yet. He had no choice though in bringing this person into the war going on nor did he have a choice in the side he’d brought him in on. It was best not to tell him certain things, incase he decided to ladder climb and to do so give someone up who had revealed things to him. He wouldn’t risk it.
“Fine, I’ll make sure it’s not something ridiculous - I wouldn’t do that to anyone honestly.” Bringing the book back to himself he flipped it open and went through the index while thinking of the names he did know, from personally meeting them or from files he’d seen in the past.
Glancing up from the books pages, even as he moved to seat himself in an armchair, he tilted his head at the other. “Oh, we do our own training, but you don’t know our members and who they are as civilians and I don’t know what times you have free or preferences. I personally run every morning and wander myself to a gym on a fairly regular basis. The training I have in fighting is in the field. I can keep you alive, I assure you, I’m more than capable and unlike you currently - I have a weapon.” He had a very nice weapon with a spear on the end, though he did wish it was a more intimidating, larger, blade. “To summon the item, which will become a weapon, focus on it….you won’t know what is until it appears. But focus on the want. When you want it to vanish.” He let himself trail off here, did he really need to explain the obvious. “It’s the same for the uniform and it would be wise to not remain powered up in a persons home - ever. Senshi and knights, as well as guardian cats, can sense the aura and will investigate. That’s why I power down a block or so from home normally. The signature of a General can be felt from further off and will attract more of the enemy.” Which he obviously did not care to invite to his doorstep and deal with. He didn’t need them knowing where he lived, he doubted they’d come knocking on the door to ask him how he was doing or with some gift in hand.
Slate eyes moved back down to the books index as he scanned over the long list of minerals. “We’re winning. We’ve won worldwide - expect here. Senshi and knights either are in hiding or dead everywhere else along with their guardian cats.” He answered simply, without raising his head. Finger skimming over the text on the page before the page was turned.
“Witherite, we’ll go with that for you.” Closing the book he set it aside, decision made.
Ryan gave the other a look that said he clearly still wasn’t buying it, still s**t creek right? Ryan laughed when he said he wouldn’t do that to someone, “right because forcing them into a war is so much better than giving them a silly name.” He leaned back putting him arms on the back of the couch, head back looking up at the ceiling and crossing his ankles. He contemplated the evening, but this was brief because he fully heard Benitoite say that he didn’t have a weapon.
He jumped up, “summon the item … now not only did you corrupt me … into a war … your telling me I have an item and no weapon. Are you ******** out of your mind? No ******** weapon … that’s some s**t, some real s**t.”
“You owe me big time for this … giving me power my a** … ******** death sentence to keep your identity … why not just ******** kill me … now I get to play lets see how long I live.”
He paced clearly agitated the more he learned and boarding on furious, “if I die, I swear I haunt your life and …” He stopped and looked at Benitoite curiously arching an eyebrow, “worldwide … I find that hard to believe. If you’ve won worldwide, why not just bring the more successful bunch over here. I’ve been in this for 10 minutes and I’m not foolish enough to believe that.”
He went back to pacing, at his new name he waved a hand dismissively, “yeah yeah, Witherite, whatever that works.”
He growled slightly before turning and stalking to the door, “I have a lot to think about obviously, thanks all to you. I’m going home, but you’ll see me in the morning, first thing.”
He opened the door, “... and a bit of advice … probably shouldn’t go teleporting people into your home, but whatever you’re stuck now.”
Ryan closed the door and left, just like that. He realized the other could probably kill him, but he hadn’t thus far and so he didn’t really care at the moment. No right now he cared that he was neck deep in some serious s**t. ******** shortcuts … that what he got for taking them.
