He had broken his word to see Fi so soon. But how was he to know what would happen?
The day before he was going to see her, the worst thing that could ever happen, happened. His home, where he had grown from a child to a man...It still hurt his soul to think about, to look at when he stepped out of his room. The fire, the screams. During the day he worked tirelessly on repairs, and at night his nightmares had returned with a vengeance.
But they were stable now, his help not as desperately needed. So he started on his way to Fi's nook. Her's was closer to his from the explosion, and the repairs hadn't much reached the interior. Boards were sticking up from the ramp, and her door was crooked, barely hanging on. He gave a little knock. "Fi? You there? It's Kaiden."

She wasn't sure how she'd managed through the previous weeks, months, days, however long it had been. She may not have had an overly strong connection to her amazingly wonderful home, but it was her home no matter how she looked at it and that explosion had hurt her to her very core. Fi imagined it had hurt Laishidiel as deeply if not even deeper. She'd done what little she was capable of doing, as long as she had been able to.
When she was finally forced to retire for the nights, it had been to a room that had been damaged in the blast as well, but it's interior had been mostly left alone. Mostly. There were still some things that had been knocked around, but that wasn't of much concern to her. At the moment, she was sitting in there, weeping. While things had mostly returned to normal, the events that had taken place had managed to etch themselves into her mind. No matter what she forgot, she'd always remember what happened.
A hesitant knock sounded during the break between sobs. Shortly followed by someone checking on her. She didn't recognize the name, but if they knew where to look for her, surely they must know they were welcome inside. Right? But they didn't enter right away and Fi figured something was up. She sniffled a little, wiping her eyes on her skirt and getting up from her bed. Of course her cute skirt was ruined, but there was nothing she could do about it. With a deep breath, she closed her eyes and placed her hand on the crooked door. "C'mon in?" She called, hoping her voice sounded like she hadn't been bawling into her precious skirt only moments before. The peach colored woman opened the door, her eyes opening at the same time.

Ohhhh Spirits. As the top fell away and she leaned against him, his hands glided over her to hold her from behind. T-together?! He blushed even more at the thought. "N-no. Not yet. I mean we just met the other day. Not that I wouldn't want to..." The last part slipped out of his mouth, and quite frankly surprised him. He had known Lira for much longer, and hadn't returned her feelings when she confessed to him. But here he was, holding a pae that could barely remember his name, and he was suggesting an actual relationship with her?
Then again, Lira had never had him undress her then press her body against his.
What if she was just vulnerable from the tree explosion and he was taking advantage of her right then and there? So many questions, his head hurt. With her memory being that of swiss cheese, he could've easily lied, said yes, and proceeded to do...well...kiss her. His mind couldn't process beyond that. But he wasn't that kind of faun. "The subject...hasn't come up until now." He would always be an honest faun, even if he could get away with otherwise.
