Diantha frowned. She had thought she was walking atop unbroken snow. Apparently the snow was overtop of some rather impressive mud as well. Her paws had gone straight through the snow into the blackish muck and every step just flung around more of it. She'd let her mane grow out over the winter, but now she regretted its length. A shorter mane wouldn't be dragging and getting caked with mud.
She sighed heavily. She knew that staying home and not wandering around would have been a better idea, but she was just so tired of winter. They had been having a relatively gentle winter until the last month. Now, it was all freezing weather and snow. This was the warmest day they'd had in weeks, and apparently all it did was melt the snow into mud. How would she even get the mud out of her mane? It was still too cold to allow her to go bathing, and she wasn't aware of any local humans around that could possibly help. She might be stuck looking like a dirt monster for the rest of winter at this rate.

Burberry felt as snug as she could be in her sweater, but the soquili struggling through the mud nearby looked far less comfortable. She tutted in sympathy as she saw the mare staring in dismay at a muddy paw.
"It's like that on the path from here on out," she supplied helpfully. "You may just want to fly, miss."

Diantha had noticed the goat in her approach, so wasn't surprised to hear her talk. She wasn't particularly surprised by what the goat said either, though it did bring her a note of resignation. "Thank you for the information," she sighed.
The goat was wearing some funny little human garment, but it looked like it was keeping the goat warm. It was too bad Diantha would never be able to wear something like that, the way all her wings fought for space on her back.
With one last nod to the goat, she took to the air. She supposed she'd just have to endure the boredom and avoid the mud after all.
