All the ice cream is bunk ice cream. sad
I'm a weird person in that I love vanilla ice cream. And I found a brand a while back that doesn't have too much sugar, but looking at the ingredients again, I noticed that it (and every other commercially available ice cream that isn't five bucks for two spoonfuls) is wrong!
The first ingredient: non-fat milk!?!?!? And no cream to be found? What is this nonsense!?
These weren't even the low-fat ice creams, just the normal ones. Guys, if you kept some of the fat the ice cream wouldn't need as much junk to flavor it, plus people would be eating smaller portions because they would feel full. Use some proper freakin' dairy!!
How can they screw up ice cream?

Yup. I'm starting to think nothing they sell in a package can be good for you.
It's almost like they are killing us on purpose. :/
I remember making homemade ice cream with my grandpa. It tasted so much better than anything they sell. We used cream, ice, sugar, and salt. Of course the salt doesn't touch the ice cream. But how simple is that? 4 ingredients.
Instead we get castoreum, carrageenan, milk full of artificial hormones, artificial sweeteners.. it makes me mad thinking about it.
I was looking it up and ice cream is way worse for you than I thought. sad I usually go for sherbert or frozen yogurt instead with the least amount of ingredients I can find. xD Thing is though it's all bad for you. Just like most things that taste good. xD I mean I love me some fruits and veggies but sweets are hard to not indulge in.

Spenelli Well, was reading stuff like this: LinkSounds a bit vegan alarmisty. Looking up other stuff, the bad stuff seems to be mostly a problem of moderation. Even water can hurt you if you have too much. So I don't think it's a problem if you're not having it all the time. emotion_yatta I do want to try some alternatives, though. I saw some recipes for coconut milk ice cream a while back using alternative sugar. It'll never be vanilla ice cream, but might still be interesting. I made a dessert with tofu once and that was pretty good.

I never did it without the churn thing. Wish I knew what that was called. xD Mmm, I would love to try a tofu dessert. I bet tofu would be good with caramel.

I'll admit it's hard not to slather cheese on everything for me. I should probably try to cut down on the stuff. I wonder if you can make alternatives with ice cream makers. I get so pained from making desserts at home xD Though my place is so small, another kitchen appliance probably isn't that great an idea. Mine was lemony. I love lemon everything. Getting a good texture was a bit fiddly, though, and now that I don't remember how I made it, it would probably turn out bad if I tried again. It was so good, though.

*In shock*
I love ice cream with TONS of stuff in it. Oh my goodness!!! My mom and I love "stuff" so much, we go to an ice cream place that adds EXTRA stuff!!!
Ok Ok I will admit.... I can't eat ice cream that's green. sweatdrop It tastes like chemicals. I dunno if it actually has bad things in it but, green dye makes me very sick.
Other colors are okay, but I do steer more towards strawberry 3nodding
