Introduction Hello, and welcome! This is a contest for a triwing valkyrie basket, pictured in the post above (note that any silhouettes used are generic; they do not accurately display what the foal will look like once they appear). Please bear in mind that Ryuu is awful, and participation in this contest requires a fair amount of reading.
Rules:
This contest is for triwing newbies; that is, those with 0 triwings. If you co-own a triwing and have no breeding rights, however, you may still enter. New! Triwings are soquili with three or more sets of wings on their back. Many years ago, the first triwing soquili, Lucifer, was auctioned off, and it was stated that only those within his lineage would be able to inherit the triwing trait. Users are unable to custom in triwings (even if they get mock children of someone in his bloodline) without Naita and Meepfur's direct permission. Triwings are considered to be a mutant angeni trait. No proxies; no mules. Mules are those whose accounts are under three months old and have less than 1,000 posts. Do not reserve posts. All entries must be completed in their entirety when posted. However, if you find any errors or choose to change some concepts around, you're free to edit your post. The only requirement is that the post remains a completed entry at all times. If you edit, do not remove sections of the old entry if you do not replace them. In addition, please leave a note at the top of your post specifying the date and nature of the change. This is a user-run contest; thus, winning the basket will not count against your freebie limit. If you have any questions, please post them in this thread, and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

The Family Rouxe and Zamiel's relationship is little more than a fling, and Rouxe leaves once the baskets arrive. She takes two with her, mistakenly believing both are female. The basket being contested away is one of the ones Rouxe takes, and the basket will be raised alongside her brother.

Rouxe is a valkyrie born to a herd called the Code of Edda. The herd's culture centers around ritualized killing; unfortunately, as Rouxe discovered during her first battle, her unusually strong unicorn blood prevents her from ending another's life. Ashamed, she exiled herself from the herd (although in the herd's eyes, she is still considered a member); however, she remains committed to the herd's beliefs, and intends to raise her children the valkyrian way.
Her self-imposed exile, and subsequent isolation, has left her detached from her fellow soquili. She is cold and self-possessed, and will not be the most affectionate mother. However, that is not to say she won't love her children.
She is accompanied by Weed, a timorous fox without a familiar's gift of speech. He can communicate with barks, whines, and other sounds, however, if he chooses to speak at all.

Elijah is the basket's youngest brother. He will be a shy and clumsy child, uncertain as to his place in life.
The basket's middle sibling will stay with their father, Zamiel. It is unlikely that they will meet during childhood (however, the winner is free to contact us if they'd like to plot!), but they are still closely related.

Zamiel is a hunter. He stalks the most elusive and dangerous prey to the point of obsession. In his youth, he hunted soquili from time to time as well. However, he no longer takes sentient life after he almost lost his own in a ritualized killing game. For him, hunting is more of a compulsion than a hobby. If he tries to keep himself from it, it isn't long until his paws start twitching to follow a trail again. He is in an odd sort of open relationship with the angeni mare Verity, who survived the killing fields with him. He spends weeks at a time near her and their children, but then leaves for months, including dalliances with other mares. While Verity doesn't view this in a positive light, she has accepted it as his nature and has resolved to be responsible where Zamiel is not. Zamiel will take Dumah's basket from Rouxe and leave it with Verity to raise under her care. Verity grudgingly accepts this as a result of being dear to Zamiel, and will raise Dumah as best as she can.

Dumah will be a quiet and aloof foal, pretending to keep his own company. His adoptive mother Verity doesn't quite understand him, but he is loved all the same.
In addition, the basket is part of an extensive family line.

The Basket Rouxe will raise her children according to the Code, the set of standards and beliefs that all valkyries share. To read about them, visit the Code of Edda. Or, to see only the essentials, please go here.
With that in mind, there are two options for the basket's immediate future:
A. The basket is raised outside of the herd. (Open ranks: practitioner, defector.) Rouxe fears her children will grow up to be like her and unable to kill. She continues her self-imposed exile, and raises them the best she can while on her own. Despite her limited resources, she teaches them all she knows of their heritage and the Code. B. The basket is raised within the herd. (Open ranks: member, practitioner, defector.) Despite her concerns, Rouxe returns to the herd with her newly-popped foals to ensure her children are raised well. Due to the herd's strong solidarity, she is welcome back with little to no trouble. Her foals are taken off her hands to be raised by the community, though she will still help oversee their training. For the far future, feel free to mention details in the plot section of the form (eg. if you chose option B but, in the end, decide to have the basket leave the herd, or vice versa).

If this is not open yet... you can shoot me in the face... o.o but yeah. <3 Edited because Leh-surf is staaapuid. she forgot to fill out personality. >.< Username: S u r f For L o v e Name: Vilaya Temper: Strong Willed
Do you own or co-own a triwing?: no. =)
Personality: (Somehow I missed this... o.o) Like her temper suggests she is very strong willed, her entire life has been as such, from bursting from her basket as fast as she could, to standing and running. She constantly strives to improve herself, wanting to make her mother proud of her, make her brother proud. and to be a worthy member of the Code. She has always taken her teachings seriously, and though she can laugh and play, learning all she can to be a proper Valkyrie, is all she really wants. She is bold, the more afraid she is, the more she stands firm. She has learned that fear, is not to be disrespected, but to be used as a tool to better oneself. And that Honor, is how one shows gratefulness to the Gods for her life. She is strong in spirit, and this can cause her to have a temper. Something she struggles with but never lets on how hard a struggle it really is. Above all, she is devoted, She is devoted to the Code, and to her mother and brother. She is proud of her heritage, and feels blessed to be apart of something bigger then herself. Family Relationship: Vi is proud of her heritage. She loves her mother, Adores her herd, and Loves her little brother, doing all she can to protect him. Her interest is in being the best Valkyrie she can be, and in honoring her mother. She hasn't made any current developments to meet her father or other sibling. But she would not be opposed.
Rank: Member Option: B How faithful is she to the Code?: She is loyal to a fault.
Prompt Number: 1 Prompt Response: Vilaya stared down at her brother in disbelief. Her eye's wide as she watched him struggle through the muddy hole. "Don't worry Elijah, I'll help you..." she said in a confident, bell like voice. Though her ears remained trained on the rustling in the bushes. She was very new in training, but the adults had given her the courage to stand up to anything she needed too, even if she wasn't quite prepared to fight back. A nervous twitch of her wings made her yearn for the easy freedom she knew would come, once they both learned how to fly that is. Red eye's continually gazed back and forth, looking from the distance to the depth of the hole, trying to see if there was anything she could use. rustle, Rustle... With a snort of worry she turned abruptly. "Just one second little brother..." she threw back before grabbing a stick laying nearby in her muzzle. "Whhooooo'sh Tthere!" She demanded through the mouthful of wood.
The bush stilled, she felt eye's on her and glared boldly back, Stomping a hoof in aggravation she prepared to chase what ever it was off. "Omme OUT!" she yelled defiantly, proudly. She would not dishonor the Code by being fearful. She would not Dishonor her mother, or her brother. One more stomp and she took a leap forward, flaring her wings to look more intimidating. A soft chittering shreek of alarm sounded from the bush as she swatted the stick. What ever it had been, it took off. She stomped one more time before her gaze softened and she returned to her younger brother.
He had not made much progress, but to continually slide back into the mud hole. "Oh brother... " She smiled sadly before a thought came to her, She turned back around. grabbing the stick she had used as a blunt weapon just a few moments before. "Ere! Climb up and grab dis!" She yelled as well as she could through the bark. A few tried and he had the other end in his own mouth. She pulled, struggling with everything she had, at first, it looked like she would have him. but then the thick mud below him dragged him back, making gross sucking noises as he started to slide. "Oooo NO!" She shouted, sliding with the stick a bit. but as the soft squishy mud was just about to give way to her small weight. her hoof caught a root. And she pushed against it with everything in her. Flapping her wings and straining.
Suddenly she fell back, losing her balance from her full body pulling, sliding ungracefully along the grown, the stick flying from her mouth. "Elijah?" She cried, panting for breath as she slowly climbed back to her hooves, afraid he had fallen back into the hole. Much to her joy, he lay sprawled on the muddy ground not far from her. Free of the hole, if not covered in dirt, and leaves. "We did it!" She cried with joy. giving a small whinny as she reared up. He looked exhausted, and though the smile was there, she knew, they would both feel better clean. "Come on little brother! Lets go get cleaned up!" Her voice was as gentle as ever while she pushed lightly on her brothers back to help him to his hooves. With a slow but happy trott, both headed off to get clean.
Plot Ideas: Family. I want family plots. I want to grow in the Code, and I want to see her turn into a glorious Valkyrie. Making her mother and brother proud. I want plots with father and Dumah and frankly I just want to see her shine. =) I will be open to a lot. especially if it involves the Code of Edda.

Username: dawns_aura Name: Tresa Temper: Decisive
Do you own or co-own a triwing?: nope.
Personality: As a filly, Tresa is curious. Absorbing any and all information that anyone is willing to impart to her. She is mostly interested in the herd and its traditions, her secret hope to to one day even become Edda. She works hard in all her studies, wanting to excel, though the healing arts are far from her favorite subject- preferring by far the physical conditioning and weapons work. Instead of doing more traditional 'electives' she spends time with any member of the herd willing to do so, and absorbs what it is to be a valkyrie and what she should strive for, what she should emulate. And as any young filly, she likes to spend time playing. Even at a young age, she has a strong sense of who she is and what she wants out of life.
As a young adult, she becomes colder, more aloof, more of the mare she wants to be. Opinionated, and clear-headed. Quick to listen and observe, and once she has all the information, quick to make a decision. Once her mind is made up, it is near impossible to sway her, the only ones who really have much of a chance at making her change her mind are her mother, and to a smaller degree, her brother.
Family Relationship: She admires her mother and is grateful to her for bringing her back to be raised by the herd.
Elijah is her brother, therefore he is superior to males not born of the herd, and despite being shy and clumsy, he is not that bad.
She does not intend to actively seek out her father or other brother, but if she encounters them she would be interested in learning about them and possibly getting to know them, depending on how things work out.
Rank: member Option: B How faithful is she to the Code?: she is completely loyal to the code and has aspirations to become the best damn valkyrie since the original Edda.
Prompt Number: 3- You dye your hair pink. To your horror, you realize it doesn't wipe off, and your mother will return shortly. What do you do? (And why did you dye it in the first place?)
Prompt Response: It started out as some silly prank. Another young filly had said she was too stoic, too serious, not enough fun. And there was more to life then being cold and stern and serious. That could wait until adulthood. And after much teasing and coaxing and wheedling, the other filly convinced her to steal some product of the herbalist healer, and use it as a hair rinse. 'It'll be easy.' And 'What harm could it do.'
And it was easy. The healer had left the product out in the open, and she was nowhere to be seen.
'Ok, I got it. But you're gonna have to help with the other part of it.' Tresa whispered to her accomplice. … And that was what lead to right now. Here with brilliantly pink mane. It wasn't anything she could hide or fob off as anything other than what it was. A prank gone wrong. A mistake.
She would tell her mother the truth of the event.. if she asked. There was always that chance, no matter how small that she wouldn't ask. But then... It wouldn't be honorable to try and hide it or to make up some story.
She waited there for mommy to make it here, home. And as soon as she saw Roux, Tresa ran up to her.
'Mommy, I think I did something wrong.' She lowered her head slightly and mumbled a bit. 'It wasn't my fault per say... Annick was the one who suggested it. I just …' Her head lifted up and she continued in a louder, stronger voice. 'I took the paste from the healer and used it on my mane.'
She took a breath.'It was wrong. I know. But I don't know how to make it right... Can you tell me how to make it right?'
Plot Ideas: These are just a few ideas I have currently, but I would love to see the character grow and evolve and change through rp. So they would be subject to change based on events that happen in the rps.
All the family plots with her mother and Elijah, and others who have part in raising the foals. And as a 'teen'/ 'young adult' encountering her father and Dumah.
Living the Code: She wants to be the best valkyrie ever, so learning and living each aspect at one time or another, and learning how to apply it all.
Hopes and Aspirations: She has big dreams and plans, and isn't afraid of speaking them out loud to anyone who asks or shows any interest. It would be neat to find those who would support her goals and help her to try and achieve them, and some who would hinder her.
Reality Check: She thinks she is some seriously hot stuff. I'd like her to meet those who are stronger, faster, better than her in some way who would knock her down a peg or three.
Push me and I'll push back harder: She needs a rival to push her and who she can push back. To help them grow and change and become what they are meant to become.
The Killing field: Her first time killing something other than a rabbit or deer or the like. Tresa finds someone she deems worthy, and goes to an older female mentor character for advice. Should she or shouldn't she. And after much soul-searching and weighing the costs, she determines she needs to send the soq to Valhalla.
Was it a mistake?: For a few fleeting moments after the other's lifeblood runs out, Tresa wonders if she did the right thing. The soul was worthy, she had no doubts on that score, it was just the timing. Would it have been better to wait, or did they need to die when they did.

Username: stormflower Name: Skuld -Old Norse name meaning "debt; future; that which ought to be." In mythology, this is the name of one of the three Norns, a goddess of destiny Temper: strong-willed
Do you own or co-own a triwing?: nope
Personality: Skuld has been a confident and vibrant individual even as a foal. She has had strength and compassion without being soft. She is a quick learner and embraced her mother teaching without a second thought. She is independent and she doesn't rely on anyone though she has her inner fears and reservation learning of her desire to kill and her enjoyment of it. She doesn't let anyone know especially not her brother who she cares more for then anyone else next to her mother whom she idealizes. She trains hard fighting to keep control and for the dedication to her culture. Once she leaves 'the nest' she finds it harder to control but she fights and she travels in search of answers within herself and eventually to family she has never met.
Family Relationship: She cares for her brother, but its more of a tough love, he wants him to be independent and have confidence so she can be a little rough on him, but she truly cares and does worry for him. As for her mother, she respects her mother, she is the strongest mare she knows few. In a way she thinks the unicorn blood that prevents her mother from killing is a blessing in a curse. While she herself can kill, sometimes she enjoys it more then she would like and she finds she has trouble restraining herself and wishes her mothers lineage reached her more, but she tries not to let it show as she sees it as a weakness she cant afford to have. She has not however ever killed outside of the Code of Edda, though she has dark thoughts on it that get harder to resist. She is terrified of becoming tainted.
Once she learns more of having another sibling she will be curious to meet him and her father, especially as she grows her killing desire continues to grow and she will seek answers and hope to learn how to better control her 'urges' How the meeting would go once/if she'd be able to find them is yet to be seen, but I imagine her possibly meeting Verity would be good for her even if at first she wouldn't like her and find her weak but after some time she would see her inner strength in her ability to keep control.
Rank: Practitioner Option: A How faithful is she to the Code?: She is completely faithful though at times she worries for taint but sticks true to the code and seeks to pass it on to her children in the future.
Prompt Number: 1 Prompt Response: It was a normal day, they had their lessons and her brother had wondered off. Skuld was looking to go over some thing to make sure he understood the lesson and give him some pointers but she lost sight of him. She had gone in search of him, checking the usual areas, but to no avail. "Elijah.....where on earth did you go?", she said to the atmosphere in annoyance. Knowing him he tripped over his own feet(paws/claws/hooves) again and got tangled in some vines again, she thought. So with a huff she continued searching.
She walk much further till she heard something, a whimper? She walked a little further through some bushes and saw where the ground was no where, seems that it caved in. "Elijah? Are you down there, what did you do this time?" She edged herself as close as she could but the ground near the opening was unstable but she could see her brother he winced slightly at her scolding look and replied, "It just caved in......don't tell mom just get me out."
She let out a slow breathe and leaned forward. "Alright, alright. As long as your ok. Just give me a minute......." He responded again but she didn't hear him as she had heard something coming from behind her from the bushes she had passed through. She backed away from the pit and turned towards the bushes preparing to attack if it was something that meant her harm.
The rustling increased when suddenly......Weed weaseled his way through the brush. Skuld groaned and rolled her eyes. "Oh its just you....", obviously disappointed. Weed barked at her as if saying he was 'glad' to see her too. "Oh whatever, get over yourself. Can you help? There are some vines back a ways. Cut some strong ones and bring them to me so I can get dummy here out." Weed just kinda looked at her, critizing her lack of manners it seemed. She sighed and moved forward. "Oh...ok Please?", she said more sincerely and he squeaked with a smile and started back through the brush. "Oh and don't tell mom ok? .....Please?", he looked at her with an expression she could quite discern but he seemed to nod and went on to get the vines.
"What's going on, what is it?", Elijah chimed in. Skuld slowly walked back to the edge and looked at her brother. "Its fine it was just Weed, he's going to get some vines so we can get you out. Don't worry.", she gave him a slight smile before getting back up when she heard the squeak of Weed coming back with the vines. It took a few minutes to work the vines together to make a sturdy enough rope , but eventually it was done. "Alright here it comes stand back Eli....." they threw it down and Elijah was able to grab hold. He gave a muffled ready and Skuld with the slightly reluctant help of Weed started to pull him up.
It took a few minutes but they were finally able to get him up. They were all huffing but they succeeded. "There now lets get back. Oh and just so you know Eli I wont tell mom what happened but your on your own explaining why your so dirty.", she said with a stern voice but a teasing glance at the same time. He looked at her in disbelief. "Oh come on?!.....and don't call me Eli its embarrassing.", he replied as he tried to catch up to his sister as Weed just shock his head and followed.
Plot Ideas: As a child she realizes her joy of killing in her training and once she realizes this she tries to mask it, learning to control her emotions and keeping her expression passive. (would like to rp this out with mother and/or brother)
Would like some rp with brother, something like the prompt one you have except maybe as they are a little older and she wants to make sure he is going to be able to make it on his own.
I would like for her to go in search of her other sibling as an adult and also to find her father for answers as she find her urge to kill stronger and wants to know how to control it. This may also be after she has lost control briefly with a soquili possible one out to harm her, but she still lost control and killed them with her body, causing taint on her soul and now she must evaluate herself to know if she will be denied her entry to Valhalla. In this she would find her brother but more so his adoptive mother and they form a bond and she comes to accept Verity and herself and though tainted she will believe she will still enter Valhalla.
Many more potential plots with her family can/will develop depending on personalities and growth but I very much would like to connect with all of them if only briefly with the father and brother, permitted with other owners.

Username: Kyrieko Name: Alexis Temper: Enduring
Do you own or co-own a triwing?: Negatory <3
Personality: Alexis is a fairly calm and collected individual who tends to be a little on the quiet side and will take her time with the things she does. She wants to properly understand them before she can adequately pass judgment and make a decision. Especially when it comes to performing a ritual killing. She wants to be as sure as possible that they are ready to be sent to Valhalla. Because of this, Alexis has learned to develop a lot of patience when dealing with others, knowing that they may not understand her way or the Code. Alexis herself will not openly admit it to her mother, for fear of making Rouxe feel she's not raised her daughter well, but Alexis feels some hesitation in killing. Strangers are easier for her to send on their way to Valhalla. But those she's grown closer to - especially her younger brother - she fears her vision becomes skewed and proper judgement can't be passed. This causes Alexis some distress as she carries the honor of her title and wishes to make her mother proud. Nor does she want to become tainted, as her mother is. But the thought of one day having to send Elijah to Valhalla terrifies her. Her heart and her duty will be at constant war with each other until she can either overcome one or the other. Or becomes tainted herself. Something she fears may already be happening due to the close bond she has with her brother. She feels protective over him and wants him to achieve great things in his own way. So what if he can't be a valkyrie like she is destined to be? He can do whatever he wants! Family Relationship: Rouxe - She loves her mother and does what she can to make her proud. Alexis knows how hard she's worked to raise her and Elijah and thus doesn't want her to learn about her fear of becoming tainted herself Elijah - She adores him. He is her best friend and she has made it her goal to protect him while fulfilling her duties for the Code. She'll share anything with him and knows, deep in her heart, she'll never be able to send him to Valhalla
Zamiel and Dumah - She's curious about them, who they are and what they do. She'll eventually want to seek both of them out, to meet at least once.
Rank: Practitioner Option: A How faithful is she to the Code?: Fairly faithful, though she does struggle with an inner turmoil in regards of possibly having to pass judgement on her family or someone she's close to.
Prompt Number: 2 Prompt Response: She wanted to make Elijah smile. He was being exceptionally shy today. It was making it difficult for her to even focus on her lessons! Mama had finally dismissed the two of them for the day, saying they could play. Or practice. She really hinted towards this. And Alexis swore she would. Just right after she found something to make her brother laugh.
So far no luck. There wasn't much out here that they hadn't already seen and explored. Really, the only 'new' thing was the sudden falling of strange fruits that Mama had called... banna...na...ana's The word was still funny to her.
Maybe one of those would make Elijah laugh?
Deciding to bring him one, Akexis trotted over to where they had fallen, the outside still as yellow as the sun. Lowering her head to pick one up, she squeezed it too hard. The bananana-thing shot out one end. Blinking in surprise, Alexis spit out the skin part and went to retrieve the other half.
And found herself doing some startled wing flapping, losing her balance and pretending that awful honking sort of squeal had not just come out of her. Then her chin thudded against the ground and her butt was stuck up in the air while her wings flopped all around her.
Was that... laughing she heard?! Oh Edda! They had been watching! Alexis felt her cheeks grow hot and she worked to carefully get her feet back under her and not step on a wing.
"I-I totally... meant to do that!" She called out, trying not to let her voice squeak. There was just more laughing.
"I did" She insisted. "To... to show how dangerous it is to not watch where you step." She paused, grasping desperately at straws. "Just like... umm... what Mama was teaching us yesterday! Always follow your path confidently."
Yeah. She was totally grasping with all her might.
At least she'd managed to make Elijah laugh. She could... live with a slightly wounded ego.
"See, I was totally paying attention, Mama." Alexis said instead, trying to pull attention away from her slip and slide catastrophe.
Her chin still hurt though... and she hadn't managed to get the bannanar-thingy either.
Plot Ideas: As a foal When all you have is your mother and younger brother around, taking things seriously is difficult. She won't really take to heart what her mother is teaching her right away, finding it silly that Elijah can't do the same things. But the more she learns, and starts to believe, the less playful she'll become. And fearful. What if she makes the wrong choice? What if she kills someone innocent? Thoughts such as these will start to plague her mind as she begins to learn how to deliver a painless and proper death. Until she discovers she's good at it. That it's almost instinctual. This will ebb her fears slightly, making her grow a little more confident in herself and giving her the ability to trust in the Code.
As and adult Through much time and effort, she'll begin to feel ready to start her journey. A journey to help deliver those rightful souls to Valhalla. It won't be until her first real ritual killing that she believes in herself fully. She'll still feel the need to stick with her younger brother, to watch out for him. And encourage him. All will seem to go well until she meets her first challenge; a soul who she deems worthy of Valhalla, but they refuse to go. It will open her eyes to a new concept. Is it right to kill someone and send them to Valhalla if they don't wish to go? Or would that make her tainted? This will mark the beginning of her hesitancy in killing and have her questioning herself and, inadvertently, the Code.

Username: ATh e a r t Name: Jovianne, nickname is Jovi Temper: Righteous
Do you own or co-own a triwing?: Nope. Not yet~
Personality: As a foal, Jovi is unsure of herself, but that doesn't mean she doesn't mean she is unsure of others. She doesn't know what she wants for herself, but she knows she wants to protect her mother and brother -- especially her brother. Growing up, she learns only from her mother and watches over her brother like a guardian angel. Although she finds his clumsy-ness irritating and causes her to be somewhat short-tempered, Jovi watches over him until she feels that he can take care of himself.
Her exterior is pretty hard, but deep down cares a lot about others. At first glance, she would most likely scare anyone that comes near her, but Jovi doesn't mean to look scary -- it's just how she is. The only people that will end up being close to her would be those that manage to stick around her long enough to see her 'sensitive' side.
Jovi's sensitive side causes her to be overly protective and sensitive. Once Soquili's get past her exterior, she shows her moodswings a lot. She is short-tempered and can be really happy one moment and boiling angry at the next. The mood swings are mostly caused by someone close to her irritating her (it could be as simple as doing something dumb... hurr reference to brother).
Once she grows into a young adult, she will be desperate to learn more than what her mom has to teach and will go to the herd. There, Jovi will learn as much as she can, but still crave more. There's only so muh she can learn and the desire for more drives her to travel back and forth between wherever her mother, brother, and herd. Anything she learns along the way she will share with her immediate family and herd. Jovi feels it necessary to learn as much as she can to insure survival (honestly, she just wants her brother to be very knowledgeable so she doesn't have to be around to make sure he's safe).
As a valkyrie, she will judge Soquili both talking to them and getting to know them from afar. Jovi believes that others can lie through their teeth, but show different ways of acting when they feel like no one is watching. To Jovi, Soquili must prove themselves both by words and actions to be welcomed into Valhalla. The only exception for her is her meals, where she will only kill the strongest of her hunts and give them a quick death and welcome to Valhalla.
Family Relationship: Jovi looks up to her mother and learns from her like a hawk. She learns from her brother too, but in another sense - she learns not to make the same mistakes that he does. Clumsy and shy is not her forte. She will be curious to who her father is and third sibling, but will most likely meet them only by chance and not seek them out.
Rank: Practitioner (when she's still with her mother)/Member (eventually) - Mostly likely a mix between architect, hunter, and animal trainer (mostly using the animals to help with the building and hunting for the herd). When it comes to hunting for the herd, the animals would bring back the animals still alive so Jovi could kill them and bring them to Valhalla). Option: A - Not that I don't want her to be a part of the herd, but I think it would be better for her to develop just with her mother first. Further down the line, I think she'd like to interact/learn with the herd, but it would depend on her growth if she wants to join. How faithful is she to the Code?: The Code/Edda is the only thing she puts before her immediate family. Although all the herd would be seen as family and equal, Jovi holds it inside of herself to hold her direct, blood family first (would not be the same for family that was not the same blood as her).
Prompt Number: 1 (going to do 2 and 3 OOCly... just because XD) Prompt Response: Jovi looked down at her brother, now flailing in the mud. Her tail was flicking in the air as she had kneeled down on her front legs. She couldn't help herself and her 'look' ended up being more of a glare. It just seemed to be too often that he would always get himself into trouble and she had to take care of him. Jovi rolled her eyes before speaking. "Hold still before you get mud all over yourself and me."
Her tone sounded normal to her, but to others it was definitely more of a snarling command.
She glanced around, noting that her mother wouldn't be there any time soon. She could hear something else nearby, but paid no heed to the sounds -- she would scare it away need be. Jovi flapped her wings a bit and sighed. "Why couldn't he fall in the mud once I've gotten enough practice with these?!" It was distasteful to admit that she couldn't do something, but she was definitely going to practice until she was stealthy with her wings.
Running around the immediate area, she found some vines that she... Eventually tied into ropes. It was hard to maneuver her wings to the point they would co-operate, but at least she was getting the finer motor movements. Besides that, she could hear her brother flailing in the mud... still. It was sometimes hard enough to fling mud in her direction and she was sitting a ways away.
"Calm down, Brother." She yelled over to him. Though she wasn't surprised that he was still fighting to get out off the mud himself. "I'm coming to help, just give me a little bit longer!"
It wasn't like he was dying or something.
A few minutes later, she had tied the few remaining knots and she ran and tied one end around a tree next to the pit. The other, she wrestled with the vine loop she had made so she could tighten it around herself. Once satisfied, she tugged the vine and jumped in, slowly making her way to her brother. "Okay... I don't know how far I can pull us both back up, but once you're close enough to jump back out of the pit, jump, okay?!"
Jovi waited until her brother nodded and walked over to where it seemed like she could climb up the wall. It would be a slow and arduous, but she would do it for her brother's sake. She put her front hooves on the wall. "Climb on and always look up. There's a chance I'll end up back in the mud, but at least I can climb out for the most part, and you would be able to help pull me up!"
Once her brother was on her back, she started to pull them up slowly. With every step, Jovi had to make sure that her footing was sound before pushing up again. In little to no time, she started breathing harder. The sound that she had heard earlier seemed to be back again, and she swore to herself. The sound made her nervous and she was trying to quicken her pace.
She was nearing the top when her eagerness to get up caused her to slip, but instead of falling, the vine was caught and Jovi could feel someone helping them up. Her chest was still heaving quite heavily, but the pulling helped and one out of the pit, she was happy to see who was at the top: her mother.
Rouxe had been nearby all along, watching the duo. Jovi was irate at herself for not noticing that it was their mother all along, but at least they were out now. From her mother's expression, Rouxe was pretty happy with how Jovi had reacted, but something still didn't seem right. She spent a quick few seconds panting, but then worked at slowing down her heart rate.
She turned to her brother and frowned. "You need to be more careful," she exclaimed. "I won't always be there to watch over you... and even then... Sometimes I'm not even strong enough to protect you!" Jovi was glad her mother was nearby, but deeply saddened at her realization.
Jovi had to learn more and be better. She could not let herself be in a helpless position again.
(( OOC Responses: 2. "I would never slip on a banana! Though... If that happened and someone were to see... It would most likely because I was protecting my brother from it. Yah know, pushing him out of the way or something? Not that I want to push my brother *coughcough*, but always watching out for him! *Innocent smile* If you don't believe that story... There are scary attacking bananas out there, right? I blame those."
3. "... I lost a bet. To my brother. *frowns* Yah know... Sometimes things just happen and well.. It included a banana and whomever slipped first would dye their hair. I thought pink hair would look good with black... Kinda looks better better with blue, don't 'cha think? Mother doesn't approve, but it's a part of me... Until my hair grows out. If it bugs me enough.. I can always wear mud." ))
Plot Ideas:
Like mother like daughter: Jovi wants to develop a closeness with her mother foremost. She knows that eventually she will take her place in the herd, but cannot make her mother a part of the herd if Rouxe is in her self-imposed exile. If Rouxe comes back as Jovi is still a foal, Jovi would follow suit. Protective older sister: Another reason why she doesn't want to be a part of the herd right out of the basket is that she wants to watch over her brother. Jovi tells others it's an obligation, but won't leave his and his mother's side unti Jovi herself feels as though he is capable of not getting hurt on his own. First kill: When Jovi first came out of her basket, she was introduced to just eating fruits and vegetables. However, it didn't feel like it was enough substanance. Eventually, she decides to hunt. Instead of choosing the easiest to kill, Jovi goes for the hardest. Once she catches them, she gives them an honorable death that will bring her meal to Valhalla. This will be the code she lives by with meat. Fighting to Improve: After deciding to join the herd as a young adult, Jovi will train in all aspects of the herd. She may not be good at a majority of it, but she feels as though knowing and learning is better than not. It is her hope that she learns to the point where she can teach her mother new things (for as long as her mother stays in her exile, anyways). It would be traveling back and for for her between the herd and her mother. Not enough: Between her travels, she will stop and learn from soquili she may meet along her flight. The information and skills she learns is not just for herself, but to spread the knowledge both to the herd and her mother. This is also when Jovi would start to debate (to herself) whom she should bring into Valhalla (besides her meals, of course). Accidental meeting: She's heard stories of her father and last sibling, but never went in search of them. In one of the treks from the herd to her mother, she runs in to one (or both). It's confusing to Jovi and unsure of if she wants to learn anything from them or 'evaluate' them, but ends up being small talk and didn't end up being much. Judging from afar: Jovi's going to continue in search of the 'right' Soquili. If someone interests her, she decided it would be better to watch from afar either before or after meeting them. It allows her to see them when they know they are being watched and without. Being able to see both allows her to be a better judge (of those to send into Valhalla and to mate with ;p). Defending the weak: As she travels, sometimes she would encounter those attacking weaker Soquili for no reason. Jovi would fight them off (as best she could) and if needed, kill them. If both fought honorably, there may be a chance she would end their fight for them and bring them to Valhalla, but if cheap tricks were used or cheating in general, she would kill them with a small knife she kept hidden.

Username: Amirynth Name: Svetlana Temper: Brusque
Do you own or co-own a triwing?: Nope
Personality: Short and to the point, Svetlana prefers not to mince her words. She almost always means exactly what she says and does not hide it with 'flowery language'. She does hold to the 'if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all' school of thought so if someone made her mad there is a good chance that she would glare for a few moments before turning tail and ignoring them for the rest of the time. Because of how blunt she is, Svetlana is honest to a fault. She feels no need to lie to anyone. If you are not worthy of Valhalla then she will let you know. If you did a good job at something or impressed her, she will make sure you understand how pleased she is. Every spoken word is chosen with care to reflect exactly what her thoughts are for the moment she is in.
Svetlana is a healer; by nature, by choice and, when she is older, by training. She may have inherited some of her mother's unicorn blood as she has a knack for pinpointing weak spots and applying her healing methods to those spots. She is reserve about hurting others needlessly and prefers to be available if someone becomes injured. She is very precised in her arts and will follow each procedure to the letter. As she gets older she will find ways to learn about specific healing techniques from all over and may decide to travel to do so. Her precised nature also makes her an aggressive fighter. Svetlana uses her healing knowledge to pin-point the weakest spots and exploits them. She reasons that this is the cleanest and swiftest way to take someone down and, to her, is the most honorable. She refuses to fight dirty but will not stop if there is an opening to a weak spot. This aggressive nature can carry over into other realms if she happens to be antagonized in the heat of battle. Though she prefers to not fight, when she does, Svetlana can find it difficult to wind down afterwards.
A love of learning new techniques has gifted Svetlana an ability to see things from many different sides. She can be quite bright about details and has a good memory. This can backfire as she is quite obstinate and, when she has made her mind about something, it is easier to move mountains than change her mind. She will hold a grudge to her grave so it is usually good not to get on her bad side. Her immediate family is probably the only people she would consider relenting or forgiving but only after a long time. She will not sit and simmer about it either. Once someone has gotten onto her bad side they are 'dead' to her and she will only respond to them if they are deserving of respect because they are one of her elders in the herd. Anyone else is just ignored. Family Relationship: She may want to meet her father at a later date but currently she is happy to learn and grow within the family unit/herd. She will hold some form of pity for her mother because Rouxe is unable to kill and thus unable to fulfill her duties as a Valkyrie but at the same time will understand where she is coming from due to her own drive to heal others. Svetlana will adore her brother and teach him anything that she learns that is new and interesting to her. Outside her immediate family she will be respectful but reserve unless they earn her favor.
Rank: Member Option: B (Though her personality would probably be the same even if you went with option A.) How faithful is she to the Code?: She would uphold the code to the fullest. While she does hold her duties of Valkyrie as the utmost importance, Svetlana is also a healer by nature. So far she has found a balance between the two, understanding that even in nature, Death is a needed part of Life and the honor of being worthy far outweighs the sacrifice if leaving the current plane of existence. She does try not to injure anyone needlessly and will make sure that if she does need to kill another, animal or otherwise, it is swift and precised.
Prompt Number: 1, 2, and 3 Prompt Response: "Hahahahaha! You look silly!!"
Svetlana was furious though she did all she could to hide it in. "No I don't. It's your fault anyways. You said it would come off!" The filly stomped her way towards her brother who was still giggling. Her normal mane was now a brilliant pink after they had found a pouch that had been abandoned by a two-legger. Inside has been all manner of bottles and powders. Some had just made them sneeze, others had smelled of crushed flowers. Her brother had found a white powder that he could make light prints on the ground after he had pressed his hoof/paw into it. She had found a bottle of bright pink liquid that had smelled like berries. After seeing her brother having fun with the powder she had tried to pull out the stopper. The resulting splashes of liquid had covered her from almost head to toe. Elijah had sworn up and down that it would just wash out. Which it had... from her fur. But the liquid had stuck to the longer strands and her mane was now a brilliant pink. It would be so bad but the vibrant fuchsia was splotchy and her tail was still it's usual colour, the over all contrast did not look good.
"It's not that bad. I'm sure it'll be ok in a day or two." Elijah tried to calm his sister while stifling another round of giggles. It was not every day he got to see his usually stoic sister in such a bright get-up. "Maybe Mother will know of a way to get it out?"
She turned on him in a flash. "We will not tell Mother! She will be furious!" How would she be able to face her mother, or any of the rest of the herd, with the monstrosity of a colour decorating her usually, well-kept mane. Svetlana's mind raced as she tried to think of other ways to fix this dilemma, "Maybe there is something left in that pouch that could fix it?" She knew it might be a weak chance but she was willing to try almost anything at this point knowing it was almost time for them to return back to the herd. The filly had to be honest with herself, it wasn't really the pink hair that had her worried but the fact they had explored so far out from the boundaries they were supposed to stay within. They would never have found the two-legger's pack otherwise. It was too late to take back that decision however, so the rest of the vials and powders were the next best option. "Where did it go? Did you bring it with us?" She looked around the bank of the river she had gone to in hopes the pink would wash out.
Her brother hopped up, willing to help. "It's over here!" With quick steps he vaulted over a bush before making a surprised yell and vanishing from sight.
"Elijah?!" Svetlana rushed forward, almost careening into the very same pit her brother was now looking up from. "Where did this come from?!" Looking around at the path they had taken she realized he had gone north instead of south back they way they had come from. "Brother, you got lost again, we came from that way." She shook her head and tested the dirt around the edge of the pit. It was slick and muddy; she almost joined him with her initial proddings. The filly wrinkled her nose and continued exploring around the hole, trying to find a vine or something she could use to help her brother. "Can you climb out?" Svetlana snorted as she watched him shake his head. She could see from her vantage point that the mud was just as slick down there as it was up at the top. That and her brother was now a muddy brown from his attempts. The filly was about to try looking for a branch or vine a little further away from the pit when the bushes to her left started to rustle and shake. Turning head on she widened her stance like her mother had taught her to do. "Who goes there?" Svetlana winced inside, knowing that her appearance might not be the most fearsome right now considering her pink hair. Still, she had to try to protect her brother.
Whatever it was making the noise, came closer and closer, causing Svetlana to lock her knees to keep them from turning into noodles. The rustling grew stronger as, finally, a small figure barreled through. A yip and a growl later the small figure was joined by the familiar form of the mother. "There you are, you should not have wondered so far away. You could have gotten hurt." Rouxe looked around before questioning Svetlana, "Where is your brother?"
"Down there." She knew there would be trouble when they returned back to the herd but at least her mother had not mentioned her hair yet. "We were trying to fix something and he slipped." Svetlana backed up a few steps and eyed the near by tree noticing a potential root that could be used to rescue her brother. "Wait, I got some..." She was unable to finish her sentence. Not quite looking where she was going, the filly slipped on something yellow, loosing her balance and landing among the roots of the tree she was aiming for, her wings all askew. "oof!" She could feel the textured bark under her knee. That was going to smart in the morning. Svetlana pushed herself up and tried to fold back her wings before her heart plummeted into her stomach. Now, not only did she have bright pink splattered hair but she had fallen in the most ungraceful manner right in front of her mother, and it had been her idea to explore further away from home than they had planned. She felt like the earth should swallow her up right then and there. A glance at her mother confirmed her thoughts and she squeezed her eyes closed for a moment before doing her best to cover up her fall.
"Here, this can work right?" She bent down and took the root between her teeth and gave it a good tug. The long sinuous root came up from the ground and she took advantage of the moment to toss the end into the pit where her brother was waiting. "Grab a hold." Trying not to allude to her cover-up she turned to Rouxe, "Mother, can you help pull him up?" Planting her feet firmly in the dirt around her this time, she braced against the weight of her brother on the other end of the vine. "Ready."
After a few struggles, grunts, and a few yips from Weed, the muddy Elijah was free of the pit and both were being dressed down by their mother. "Go get yourself cleaned up," she nudged her son towards the river, "And Missy... what happened to your hair?" Rouxe's attention was focused on her daughter.
"We found a pouch full of things I have never seen before. One turned my hair pink. We came to the river to wash it out and Elijah fell into the hole." Svetlana neglected to mention the rest, figuring her mother would either remember or forget but she didn't want to be the one to remind her of the slip up. "Sorry for leaving the boundaries." She added as an afterthought. With her brother out of the pit and her Mother here to take them home it would be the end of the adventure for today. Still, it had been a... learning experience. Svetlana needed to remember to keep an eye on where she was stepping, not only to keep herself from slipping on things but also to make sure it wasn't her down in the pit next time.
Plot Ideas: Childhood: Svetlana is voracious about learning. She is often found in the way during lessons for much older fillies. While she doesn't talk much, her eyes follow everyone and she will try to learn everything she can about fighting so she can become a 'proper valkyrie'. This will be slightly problematic as she will cause more trouble than it is worth.
She gets in her first proper fight and injures her opponent. At the cry of pain, after the dust has died down, she approaches her opponent and views the wound that she had caused. Being clumsy and not very good at fighting as they were still in training, the wound is bruised and full of dirt. It is then she realizes she prefers to be a healer and she vows that when she does strike out, that it is quick and clean so it does not cause any anguish.
Teen/Young adult: This is when Svetlana starts to ask about her father and other family she may have. She decides to strike out and go on a journey to find them and during her travels she learns new techniques of healing and maybe fighting. She will learn about other herds and probably find opposition to her own beliefs. Rather than cause her to question her own path, it gives her cause to adhere to the Code of Edda even more so that it will never be forgotten.
While traveling she will encounter those who are deceitful. She dislikes such behavior and finds enjoyment bringing them down a peg or two (or so she thinks). This will change when she meets a soquili who is in a situation where their lives depend on not being what they seem. (Maybe it's a wind mare who has fallen for a land stallion and their father would disown her if he found out or a stallion lies about the location of his sister to protect her from a vengeful kalona or a skinwalker.) While she has rarely had the urge to tell a lie in the past due to her blunt nature, she comes to realize that sometimes it is necessary. Svetlana also decides it is not for her and pledges to not speak untruths as long as it is within her power to make such a choice.
Adulthood: Svetlana will eventually return to the herd to share all she has learned in her travels.
She will meet a stallion who will intrigue her, maybe he will be a healer, maybe a warrior, but she will eventually fall for him and they will mate. Svetlana will realize he is meant for Valhalla and may ask for advice but will eventually kill him and send him to the halls. This decision may be prompted by an attack or an accident where he comes into serious danger and she realizes that if she waited any longer he may not get there. When she finally makes her decision it will be swift in coming. (I will be customizing a boy just for her with this RP plot and then killing him off after their first breeding.)
Her children will be trained in the herd and will become Valkyrie (if female) as they should. However, one of her daughters will have qualms with the teachings and start to question their beliefs. This will polarize things between her and her daughter as she is very traditional at this point and finds her daughters dissent disappointing. They will slowly work through things (or not) and Svetlana will have to learn to accept her daughter no matter what she decides.

Username: JetAlmeara Name: Brynhildr (Bright Battle) Temper: Decisive
Do you own or co-own a triwing?: No
Personality: Bryn is not the type to rethink a decision, once she chooses that choice is as solid as the mountains. Changing Bryn's mind?... It could be the definition of 'futility'. That is not to say that Bryn is unreasonable or prone to snap decision's however, she knows full well what her choices could mean and takes her time, she will listen to both sides of a story, she will weigh possible outcomes in her mind..and then, when she has all the information she thinks necessary she will commit herself fully to the choice she makes.
Nothing irritates Bryn more then those who can not stick by the choices they make, or those who refuse to take responsibility for the outcome of those choices. To her way of thinking - you shouldn't be making a decision unless you are completely sure it's the right one and you are foolish to do so. Bryn can not abide fools.
Her unwavering loyalty to decisions made might come across as an irritant to those who disagree with her but they are also a source of great comfort to those who agree, if Bryn had pledged her agreement to something then it is well known that nothing will turn her from it. Loyalty is a virtue she places a great deal of value in, and it is those loyal Soquili whom might just have the most of fear from her...Valhalla will need those loyal beasts and sending them there is an honor in her eyes.
Family Relationship: Bryn admires her mothers loyalty to the herd, the fact that she remains steadfast in the herds beliefs despite her handicaps puts her on a pillar in Bryn's mind and deep in her heart Bryn knows that someday she will be rewarded for that loyalty. As for her brother - Bryn can only shake her head at him, it is fortunate that he was born a male as his clumsy manner would likely have given him much grief as a valkyrie. Still she does her best to see that he learns his lessons and hopes that he will blossom as he becomes older.
I am not sure how she will feel about her father and missing brother, I expect that's something she will tell me through RP as time goes on.
Rank: Member Option: B How faithful is she to the Code?: Extremely, Bryn has devoted herself to the code, it is who she is, it is life.
Prompt Number: 3
Prompt Response:
Bryn tilted her head slightly as she looked at her reflection in the placid pond, giving the foal beside her a dirty look when they caused the ponds surface to ripple and blur the image before her. "Stop that! I want to see what it looks like!" She snapped the foal, narrowing her eyes slightly at their humorous expression.
"Your mother is going to kill you!" The other foal chortled in a fit of laughter. "You look ridiculous."
Bryn felt her muzzle twitching in irritation at the foals laughter "She will not and I like it so there!" she declared - sure it might be a bit brighter then she had anticipated but she had decided she would look good in pink and after carefully studying herself next to various pink object she was pleased to see that she had been right. No matter what this other foal thought.
"Do you? Do you really?" The other foal asked, stilling her laughter for a few moments to give her a quizzical look.
"Of course I do!" Bryn answered "I wouldn't have done it otherwise!" She stated, raising her head slightly and flipping her new bright pink locks proudly. Let them laugh, she didn't care..she liked it and that's all that mattered.
"If you say so...but I still think your mom is going to kill you." The other foal declared before bounding off to find a different playmate. Whatever Bryn thought as she watched them go. Although...as much as she hated to admit it the other foal had raised a slight bit of worry in the back of Bryn's mind - what would her mother think about it? Tipping her head slightly Bryn regarded the shocking locks between her ears and down her neck. they were different, quite different, but she did like them..just as she had decided she would before she started and in the end Bryn decided that her mothers reaction didn't matter all that much..she would either accept Bryn's calculated shift to pink hair..or she'd be angry but get over it..I mean it wasn't like she could stay mad at her forever about hair right? Frowning slightly Bryn considered her various paths... she could act contrite, which she wasn't, and beg forgiveness..but that would be a lie or she could act how she felt and confidently accept any grievance her mother might have as the consequences of doing what she knew had been the right thing to do.
Yes... that seemed like the best avenue to take, anything less would be like saying she had made a mistake in choosing the pink hair and Bryn knew, knew without a doubt that she hadn't! Confident in her plan the little filly turned away from the pond and head high trotted back towards the rest of the herd.
Plot Ideas:
I generally prefer for plots to evolve and grow organically from RP rather then be set in stone while a character is still new and young and untested. However...I do know that I want her to be tested, I want her to struggle with making a choice and truly living up to her knowledge that it is the right thing to do.
I want her to remain devoted to the herd and it's ideals, I want her find those perfect loyal creatures and honor them by sending them to where they truly belong even if loosing them it bittersweet to her personally.
I want her to bond with a familiar who shall be her confidante in all things, one who will be both a sounding board as she makes choices and a soothing shoulder when she reaches decisions she might not personally like.
Obviously I am up for any and all family/herd plotting that might happen - because I love all the things when it comes to plots.

Username: DarkenWoodWolf Name: Riomie Temper: Cold
Do you own or co-own a triwing?: Nope
Personality: Riomie is rather distant from others, seeing herself as above them as one of them. She can be as cold as the jewel on her basket. As a Valkyrie, she knows she has to kill and does so without remorse or thought. It is just a job to her, the lives she takes a duty for her to fulfill so the souls can pass to Valhalla. That's what she sees others as, not as Soquili, but as souls. And she is one of the blessed who judge those who are worthy.
Rio takes her duty very seriously, loving the ability to choose who goes to Valhalla and who doesn't. This belief is her core structure, rising above her loyalty to family or friends. However, her loyalty to the herd is as strong as her belief in what they do. So long as they line up, everything is fine, but she will choose her job as a Valkyrie over any other entanglements.
Family Relationship: I think her relationship with her mother and younger brother would be a good one, especially when she's a filly. After all, she has a lot to learn at first, and it would be nice to learn it alongside someone rather than just on her own. Knowing, however, that her brother was never going to be what she was would make her feel superior too him, in a way. Most of the time, it wouldn't show, but as she grew up and started using her abilities, she might grow distant from him. Looking down on him for being male and not a Valkyrie. If he accepted her cold demeanor, she would enjoy his company. If he tried to out do her, or call her out on it, she would fight with him.
When she is young, her Mother would be an idol of hers, wise and beautiful. However, as she grows up and learns that her mother cannot kill, she will become judgmental and abrasive. After all, they were Valkyrie, how could a Valkyrie not kill? That was what they were for, after all. The idea that her mother was not all that she had seemed to be could be spurred on by others in the herd, or Rouxe's own feelings of shame.
When she's a filly, she isn't really going to care about her father and her other brother. She has her tasks to complete, things to learn, and a herd to watch out for her. However, once she grows up and goes to her duties, she will become rather curious as to who her sire was, and who her other brother had become. In the course of her duties, she will venture away from the herd to kill, so she will use the time she is away to maybe find the other side of her family. I could think there would be some contention between her and her father because, while she didn't really care now, she was curious as to why he had left before ever meeting them, why he'd never sought them out. I would like for her, though, in a shocking turnabout, actually get along with the brother she'd never met. I want her to be able to call him friend, rather than just family.
Rank: Member Option: B How faithful is she to the Code?: Extremely. It is her life, what she's breathes. She would rather die then break the Code in anyway. Not that she would kill herself, because she wants to make it to Valhalla, but she would not break the code to save herself either.
Prompt Number: 1 Prompt Response: "Brother..." Riomie sighed softly, looking down at him in the pit and wondering what they were going to do about it. She cast about, seeing no one. Not her mother, not anyone from the herd, just a whole bunch of trees. That was just... not good. She looked down into the pit again, and tried to figure out how she was going to get her brother out.
Funnily enough, in all their training, getting little brothers out of pits in the woods hadn't come up. Carefully, she felt her away around the hole in the ground, testing the soil so she didn't end up in the earth like her brother. Having both of them trapped would be a disaster.
But, now, what was she going to do? Rio completed the circle, stepping into her own hoofprints and tried to figure out what she would do about her silly brother in the silly hole.
Behind her, something moved, rustling the underbrush, and she spun around so fast she almost toppled into the pit on top of her brother. Carefully walking away from the edge and putting herself closer to whatever it was that had stumbled upon them, she braced herself in front of the pit.
It was possible that whoever, or whatever, it was that was watching them from behind the trees had put the pit there to capture unwary foals like themselves, or had just happened upon a good spot to ambush others. It was also possible that the thing behind the trees wasn't anything to worry about. Rio flicked her ears back, she dug her hooves in and prepared for anything
The Herd had been teaching her how to fight, because that was a part of what they did as Valkyries, but she had only just begun to learn. She didn't think she could take on a fully grown Soquili of any kind. Maybe if it was another foal, she could do something to protect her brother, but she doubted it. Alarm crept up her back, muscles twitching with the need to run. Either to get help or to fight off the interloper. She knew she owed Elijah that much. Rio couldn’t just leave him to his fate, no matter how silly he was. He was her brother and part of the herd.
“Alright, whatever you are, come out and face me.” Riomie stated, holding her head high and facing down whatever threat there was. “Don’t dally. I don’t have time for your games.” She kept her voice cool, contemptuous. Like she wasn’t afraid. She was though, enough that she kept shifting from foot to foot. Fear wasn’t something she was used too, her heart racing strong enough to thunder in her ears. She’d never felt like this before. It made her want to stomp her feet and charge the bushes, made her want to run as fast as she could in the other direction.
“I said come out!” Rio snarled, taking one bold step forward, knees shaking with the effort. She took a deep breath and let it out, letting her anger slip out of her, leaving a cold feeling inside. Taking comfort in that empty feeling, she let it swirl around inside her like the wind, making her feel strong instead of helpless.
Her brother made some sort of noise behind her, but she ignored him, focusing entirely on the potential threat. The bushes rustled again, and Rio braced herself. A fox shot out of the woods and stopped in her path, blinking wide eyes up at her for a second before darting off again. Riomie tilted her head back and laughed, the adrenaline running rampant and leaving her breathless and giddy. “It’s alright, Elijah. I think I’ll go find Mother so she can get you out.” With another laugh, she strove to recapture that cold, windless feeling she’d had. It was interesting, after all, she thought as she trotted off, looking for Mother.
Plot Ideas: I have a couple of ideas that would be interesting to follow. When she is young, she is going to be very into her studies and into information about the Herd. Rio would treat her brother sometimes as an equal, a friend, yet other times act as though she is better than he is because she is a Valkyrie. Or will be, at any rate. It will depend on her mood at the time, and how well her studies are going. If he ends up better at something, she’d become distant or cold, because she wasn’t to be the best Valkyrie ever. I would love to rp them a lot, going over the two extremes.
Her mother is going to be an idol when she younger. Over a period of time, I would like for her to slowly lose respect for her since she can’t do her job because of the unicorn blood in her veins.
When she gets older, I want her to travel, searching for souls that are worthy for Vahalla, and run across her brother or her father. As previously stated, it would be interesting to have her become close with her middle brother and distant with her father. Since she is cold toward most others, it would be nice to have her open up to someone.
I also have the idea of having her get in a fight and kill someone who isn’t worthy to go to Valhalla. And accident or something, but enough for her to worry about the taint on her soul, and possibly not getting into Valhalla herself. I would have her confess to the Edda. Maybe, its sorta a rough idea, but an interesting concept of restraint. She is, of course, so loyal to the code that she would have rather died than do it, so it would add a different aspect to her personality. It would have had to been in the defense of a someone else, or a complete accident in defense of her own life. It’s a rough idea that, of course, would require lots of rp and plotting.
Of course, I am open to the suggestion of anything, because the whole idea is just fascinating. The potential plots are endless.

Username: xXToxicIllusionsXx Name: Runa (Secret Tradition) Temper: Dedicated
Do you own or co-own a triwing?: Nope
Personality: Runa was above all else courageous and strong willed. She faced the world head on, willing to face the odds no matter what came her way. She had not a shy bone in her body, forward in nature, she did not hesitate to tell it like it is, no matter what the truth may lead. This always made her seem cold, having no concept of a white lie made it hard for her to make connections with most.
She is also dedicated, to her teachings, and to those she cares for. Loyalty with her is no question. She would follow her code to the very end, for she knew she would not fail, she had no time to believe such. With this comes pride. She had much pride in herself, what she will become, and of what she does. She would hold her head high to the very end when death claims her.
Family Relationship: Brother - Runa is protective of her younger brother. She has always been the strong one of the two, being his shoulder to lean on when time was in need, but making him face his own dangers, even if she was always one step behind him to clobber anything that bested him. She had nothing but love for her little brother, even as they grow she will always be there for him.
Mother - Runa sees her mother as a guiding stone. She follows her footsteps and wants to become like her mother. As she grows up, she will always look back to her mother, no matter how far apart they were, and think, what would my mother do. She understands why her mother was for the most part distant with her and her brother. It helped them stand strong when the winds of fate tried to knock them over. Though she hardly speaks to her mother, that love and connection is there, and filled with great respect.
Father - Runa knew she had a father, all do don't they? She often as a foal would question where he was, and why she would never meet him, but it was never so much a driving force to make her get up and head out to look for him. She believed that if he thought he was good enough to not need them, then she was better for not needing him. Though, if her brother would wish to search him out, she would be at his side.
Lost Brother - Runa had always wondered why he was left behind, but she never questioned her mother's wisdom. Maybe he would not of been as strong as her and her brother, or maybe he had no wings to carry him the distances they would have to go. She just knew that a part of her was missing, and it was likely the part that belonged to him. She was very connected to her siblings. If there was one worthy of searching out it would be him, to know if he turned out as strong as her, if he lived at all. She has vowed to one day find her brother, to let him, know he is not so alone.
Rank: Member Option: B, but even if A she would seek out the herd on her own in time. How faithful is she to the Code?: She is fully to the code. She has taken it in as a part of her. Runa would follow it to the end. She may find it hard to kill at first, when she has spent so much time caring for her brother, the thought of going from caring to killing anyone may be a little hard to swallow. Still, she would not waver when the time came. She would face it with honor for that is all she had.
Prompt Number: 1 Prompt Response: Runa was standing in the dense forest, looking over a small chipmunk that happened to be standing almost nose to nose with her as she hunkered down. She was admiring its bravery to stair down something larger then it when she felt something. By time she lifted her head to look back she had found a vine wrapped around her leg and her brother scampering off letting her know that she was IT... She quickly snapped the vine in two and went after him. She had barely gotten anywhere when she heard the snap and scream in the distance.
Heart racing Runa hit full speed, racing off into the forest towards her brothers cries. It was almost last second when she came to a skidding stop, almost ending up in the large pit herself. Scattering back she looked down into the hole, her ears pulling back along her head. "Seariously..." She looked down at her brother with a dark look. Seems her days were filled with pulling him from one pickle to have to save him again. He was blubbering something that was hard to understand when she heard the bushes rustle. She jerked her head up and those ears went to the sky. She had not noticed something moving in the forest before.
Again the sound caught her ears, and just in time for her to turn and see a large fearsome cat step from the shadows of the forest. She had no time to guess what kind it was, it was already upon her. Runa become knocked to the ground, but what it was more interested in was the foul who now had nowhere to run. laying there, catching her breath from having it knocked from her she opened her eyes to see the dark cat stalking its way towards the hole. She could not let it take her brother from her. Her mind went to racing as she looked around. She happened to spot a broken stock laying by the hole. She stood and rushed to it, taking it she came around with a heavy swing. The dark wood came to a twack, breaking once more against the cats head. It yeowed in pain and anger as once more its attention was upon her.
Now left holding a small bit of wood between her teeth she was backing off. The look of hunger and anger in the cats eyes turned her blood to ice. She was shaking, the beat of her heart was felt in the back of her throat. She could almost taste it. Dropping the stick she had no choice and as it lunged at her she took her claws to it, ripping a nice bit of flesh from its face. It had her pinned when she kicked up at it, kicking it off her and again the race to find a weapon was on.
The vines here were thick, and as the cat came for another round she took the vine into her mouth, jerking it up at the last second as the cat came again, catching the beast about the throat causing it to flipped over with a heavy sound as it hit the ground. With what strength it had it ran off into the forest to catch its breath and look for simpler prey. But it would never forget the scar she left upon its face.
When Runa finally made it back to the hole her brother had calmed, but now covered in mud. "Still in there? What are me and mother going to do with you." She laughed quietly and looked around for some vines to get him out. Finally spotting one that had fallen from the trees she took it, bringing it over to the hole. "Come on, lets get you out of there before mom gets here." She wrapped another end around a tree and pulled. She could heat her brother mumbling over his end of the vine, cursing the slippery mud as she finally pulled him to safety from the hole.
Little did she know her mother had been there watching, for how long she could not say, but when he was pulled free she could hear him call to their mother and rush off, blaming her for pushing him in. "Hey, that's not true. He fell in on his own." She wined as she trotted over to join them. And so the sun begins to set on another day in her trying, eventful life. It was not until then that it even dawned on her that she may have died there, or her brother one. Though, what will not kill her will make her stronger, right?
Plot Ideas:
Where art thou: Hide and seek becomes hide for your life when Runa and Elijah venture to far from their mother. They meet a wolf pack, and it soon becomes hide for your life. Ducked back in a small cave Runa stands tall, willing to fight the wolves when someone comes to save them. (Incert mystery stranger here) Runa stands ready when the stranger peeks into the hole they get a Runa hello, or shall we say a stick to the face. Once Runa is sure they are free she thanks the stranger for saving them and runs back to their mother, vowing to repay the stranger some day. How Dare Thee: Thinking she is right Runa makes a bet with her brother, but when she is wrong, that bet becomes her nightmare. (I am thinking a dare of dares, something fun yet haunting, like daring her to enter a haunted forest, or to tie flowers into her hair for a week. I am sure we can some up with something evil. >> <<) Thi hunt beckons: Runa does not understand when creatures she used to play with and enjoy become to look like meals. Every night she dreams of the hunt, of killing, and feeding. Even her own brother in the early mornings makes her stomach hunger. She can not shake it, and one day, she can not stop it. She leaves in the early morning to hunt, catching an animal and feeds upon it, but when her brother sees it scares him, and he does not understand. Running back to his mother he tells he of what he saw, and Runa, now being a young adult, or near there hides from her family. When they arrive she is nowhere to be found, but the blood still coats the ground. Shamed return: It has been nearly a month since anyone has seen Runa. She having fled to keep her hunger to herself, and protect her family. Though in the evening of a new moon Runa comes back, only to speak with her mother about what has happened. Her brother lost his fear of her and now only worries about her return before he is forced to leave on his own. After speaking with her mother, be it good or bad in view, she chooses to tell her mother the hunger is gone, but insted hunts in privet, hiding her hunger. Forever Protecting: (If raised in the Herd) When her brother has to leave Runa goes with him. She wants to watch over him, and in doing so, she can also hunt for those worthy. She chooses to stay at his side, returning for short times to the Herd to see her mother and to be home once more. Herd is Thine home: (If raised away from the herd) Runa decides that she wishes to return to her mothers herd. To gain her right, and to hunt in their ways. She has heard to many stories not to desire this life for herself. ------ I have a lot more plots in mind, including her going to find her other brother, desiring to finally find the missing part of herself. I am also thinking a brush with danger. A strong Soq challenges her, or her brothers safety and she fights to the bitter end, both barely escaping death. Though she goes looking for this attacker, thinking anyone who could almost kill her is worthy, for they fought well. Also a small plot with her meeting the one who saved her and her brother. Desiring to repay them the only way she knows how for saving her and her brother as foals.

Username: Frezir Name: Eir, the Peace Temper: Merciful
Do you own or co-own a triwing?: I do not c:
Personality: As a foal she can be a bit naive, but over time she would learn that becoming a Valkyrie. She would be strong, reserved, and merciful to those who she would deem worthy of going to Valhalla. She also inherited a bit from her father when it came to hunting. She would hunt small animals for their pelts and for food. The pelt would be saved as gifts for those she would kill to pass into Valhalla. Every pelt would be different in some way for each soquili. As she would train and grow into adulthood, compassion would be something she would experience and show to those who earn it.
Family Relationship: Eir would be close to her mother and her brother while in the herd. As she reaches adulthood, she would want to meet her father and other brother to meet them and bond with them. She'd get along with her father as far as hunting for "sport".
Rank: Practitioner / Member Option: B How faithful is she to the Code?: Eir would be faithful to the core, but would be open minded to what outside ideals are around. She would learn as much as she could to stay true to the Code of Edda.
Prompt Number: 1 "Your brother is a dweeb and falls into a pit. It is damp and muddy, and neither of you can fly. Your mother is nowhere in sight, and a plant rustles ominously behind you. What do you do?"
Prompt Response: "Elijah, you dolt!" Eir snapped as she looked down at him. He had fallen into a pit, damp and muddy. She growled lightly in frustration, knowing that neither of them could fly. Looking around the area of the pit, there was no sign of mother. Her fur and feathers stood on end when a rustling could be hear. "Now you've done it! We'll be killed if that rustling is something bigger than I!" She yelled at him. She turned around to face the rustling. "Fight me!" She yelled as she braced herself for the possibility of a large animal or soquili to attack. Much to her surprise only a lowly squirrel hopped out from the bush. "Pft... wasting my time..." She growled then charged at the squirrel. She was angered that it was something so trifle. The squirrel was able to escape, but left Eir frustrated.
"Now to figure out how to get you out of that blasted pit." Eir growled as she walked back over to the pit to look back at her brother. She began to look around the area. She sighed as she sat down for a moment to think. She looked at the bushes to see some where covered some thick ivy. She smiled devilishly as she rose to her feet. Happily trotting over to the bush, she grabbed hold with her teeth to slowly pull the ivy until it was long enough to go down the pit and reach her brother. "Grab hold of this, Elijah!" She called to him. As soon as she felt the ivy tug, she began to pull as he used the pit walls to help climb up to the top. Once he was out, Eir noticed he was pretty muddy from falling in. "Let's go back to mother and get you cleaned up." she giggled lightly as they headed back towards the herd.
Plot Ideas: Hunters Alike - When Eir is fully grown, she would leave the herd to meet the father she didn't really know about. She would begin to connect with him on their likeness in hunting for "sport/fun"
Never Give Up - Eir would be training with her mother in the ways of becoming a Valkyrie. She would get a little beat up, but wouldn't give up.
A Death Unworthy - Eir would travel the lands (with or without her mother) and end up sending a soquili to Valhalla that wasn't worthy in her eyes
Feathers and Claws - Eir shall go on a quest (hopefully with her mother) to find her own familiar. Im thinking either a raven or another bird of "prey" to become her own. This will only happen after a familiar has be won.
