This was a journey Leilani had been meaning to make long before now but other circumstances, one of the results of which was trotting along beside her, and the long winter had prevented it. Now that her newest foals had come out of their baskets, things could ease back toward normal, or at least what was more normal for her. She was free to roam again but there would be at least one foal in tow for a while. This time Valeria had decided she wished to come along when her mother mentioned going somewhere new. Imladris may have been her childrens' home but she was glad that at least one of them wished to see beyond the herd's lands."You said one of your friends would be here?" Valeria had to keep up a brisk pace to match her mother's longer strides.The prospect of meeting someone new made her very happy, so far there had been no one else to talk to outside of family and she was getting quite bored of her siblings. So when her mother had offered to take them somewhere else she had jumped at the chance. "Where is she?" The half angeni's wings fluttered in response to her emotional state - happy, eager and curious. Her daughter's wings had grown in quite a bit in the short time since she emerged from her basket. It was remarkable, considering they had barely been there at all when she was born. "This is her family's territory. It may take a bit to find her though." The first time Leilani met Siebel it had been pure chance that the other mare had been nearby. She remembered the places her friend had taken her to, so perhaps they could check those first. If they weren't able to find Siebel, then perhaps they would run into someone else who would know where she was? "Just remember your manners." Valeria had the tendency to jump in head first with a million questions."I will!" The little winged foal giggled and skipped head of her mother since the mare had slowed her pace somewhat.Kamiki (( Left it a little vague since I know you and Sabin had personal plots and I'm not sure what would have changed in the territory. ))

 The Valley lands were peaceful - having never been touched by the great fires that ravaged the lands a few years ago. The summer had brought in the deep green grasses and the bright berries over the meadows and fields, and wildlife was teeming everywhere.
As Leilani traveled through the area, it was Siébel who saw her first from her napping nest she had made on the canopy in one of the big oak trees. It took her a minute to recognize the mare, especially with a baby in tow, but soon her voice broke the silence and she happily flew out of the tree. "Leilani!" she chimed happily, gliding down towards her.

This place really was beautiful and she had certainly never seen anything quite like it before. New plants, new flowers and animals! Even the grass tasted different here. Her siblings would probably be quite jealous when she got home and told them about all of this! They would wish they had come along with Momma too instead of being boring sticks in the mud and staying with Dad all the time. By the time Siébel spotted them Valeria would be running ahead of Leilani, darting this way and that trying to get a good look at everything. The curious filly would only pause when she heard a strangers voice calling out her mother's name. But where exactly was the voice coming from?
Up above, it seemed. It was a mare with wings like hers! Well, sort of anyway. "Is that your friend Momma? She's pretty!"Leilani had been distracted by her young daughter's enthusiastic inspection of absolutely everything. It was quite adorable. Exactly what she had hoped for when she had brought her outside of Imladris' lands. She believed her foals deserved the opportunity to explore before they made any decisions about whether to stay with their father's herd permanently or not. If they decided not to come along then that was their choice to make as well.
She looked up when a familiar voice called her name. "Siébel!" Her daughter's comment about the other mare being pretty made her flush a bit - hopefully it wasn't too visible! Yes, Siébel was very pretty.Kamiki No problem! I should be able to get the other started too shortly after this!

Siébel caught the little filly's compliment and puffed out her chest as she landed on the soft grass. She didn't always feel pretty - her father seemed to think she was rather plain (Though he never told her that to her face, of course, but she could always just...tell), but still, it felt good to hear. "Why thank you, little..." uh...what was this? A filly, sure....but was it...
...and then she seemed to register she called Leilani 'Mommy.'
Her voice trailed off for a second as a strange feeling she didn't quite understand welled in her chest. Mommy?
Lelani had mentioned having children before, but with a stallion who wasn't around anymore. And that they were grown. This little thing certainly seemed young. She was no expert on babies, of course, but the math wasn't adding up.
"Leilani, its so great to see you again," she finally said after catching herself in her silence. "Wow, look at that," she said, motioning down to the filly. "This is... yours?" she asked, trying to sound nonchalant.

Siébel's little awkward silence earned her a curious look."I'm glad, and a little surprised, we were able to find you so quickly." The other mare seemed quite puzzled by her daughter's presence. "She is, yes-"And her ever curious daughter cut her off after that. "My name is Valeria." Four little wings fluttered as she danced circles around her mother's friend. To get a better look at her. Siébel's coloration was very different from anyone in her family, she kind of looked like a bird! This was all very new and exciting. "I have a brother and a sister too, but they are no fun at all. They are at home with Dad being boooooooooring."Leilani sighed and shook her head a little. That summed up that answer quite nicely. She and their father were not together, but they had an understanding."Moms told me a lot about you." What Valeria seemed to conveniently 'forget' was that she was not supposed to just blurt this out... "She really likes you a lot!""Valeria!" It wasn't a lie. But it made this whole thing terribly embarrassing.

Siébel inspected the little filly right back, blinking at her wings - 4 of them - and looking over her colors and freckles. She didn't think she looked too much like her mother at first glace, but the gleam in her eye and the rusty chestnut fur was a shade darker, but otherwise matched quite well with her mother. Siébel was surprised by how much she found her heart sinking - an odd sensation of defensiveness welling up that she tried to stamp down by focusing on the task at hand.
"Wow, two siblings...." she forced out with a smile. "I have two siblings, too, but they live with their mother," she offered, trying to find some common ground. Her eyes caught her back leg - alarmed at first as it looked, well, shattered, but the little filly didn't seem to mind. Her ear twitched forward as she finally got her eyes back up to Lei - right as she was blushing from Valeria's little blurt.
"You talk about me, huh?" she said, forcing a playfulness into her voice. "That's sweet. Good things, I hope?"

"Of course." As if she would have anything bad to say about Siébel! Really, this wasn't going quite so well as she had hoped for. But Valeria was young so Leilani could not really place any blame on her daughter for this. She smiled and awkwardly scuffed a hoof on the grass when Siébel looked at her again. The blush had not left her face entirely either. What she needed to say was probably best said to the other mare alone. "Go and play in the flowers for a bit Valeria."The tiny filly's shattered leg was not the only oddity but it always seemed to be the one noticed first. It had always been that way since she emerged for her basket but the strange thing was it never seemed to hurt, so after a while no one paid it any mind. Her siblings had oddities too, she and her sister's seemed the least problematic - with cracks and spikes - whereas her brother had ended up with extra eyes in strange places.
"But Mom!!" Valeria was pouting now that her curiosity was rather fixated on Siébel since she was here and new."You can pester Siébel more later." Assuming things in the next little while went well and they were able to remain here long enough."Alright." She sighed dramatically and went back to the flowers she had been inspecting when her mother's friend had first appeared. Silly grown up problems. Her mother's actions didn't make a whole lot of sense. If she liked her friend shouldn't she just tell her? Of course she had no way of knowing it was almost never just that easy.Leilani shook her head again when her daughter headed off toward the flowers. "Children sometimes."
