This booth is decked out in liberal amounts of neon and a banner advertising the Skate Queen Roller Rink. Its interior contains a frozen carbonated beverage machine stocked with both blue and red flavors. Further back is more neon, but also a lot of cubbies containing pairs of roller skates. On the counter is a pile of glow sticks and a couple sheets of paper. One is for checking out skates, and another is a sign-up sheet for the Slayers roller derby team. At the top of the latter list is the name ”Rasali Panaka”.

Rasali herself is probably behind the booth, where there’s an open, paved space marked off with chalk lines. A boom box is stationed on one end blasting iconic pop tunes at maximum volume. When Rasali’s not behind the counter of the booth, she’s likely out there rolling around the makeshift rink.

Free glow sticks with skate rental! No free refills on frozen carbonated beverages.

Four Corners & Rink Race
Four Corners: Music plays as trolls make laps around the rink. When the music stops, they have to scramble to the nearest corner. Which corner is the “out” corner is decided randomly, but whoever was unfortunate enough to stop there is out. Last one standing wins!

Rink Race: The object of Rink Race is to make as many laps around the rink as you can before wiping out, or the song ends! Speed and control is the key, but shoving is allowed for that extra oomph.

Every day participating trolls roll 10d4 as they roll around the rink. The number of consecutive rolls they make before rolling a 4 is how many rounds they've gone before they’re kicked out through getting the wrong corner, or in the case of Rink Race fell down or ran out of time. The three trolls to have made it the most rounds by the end of the day each get one ticket. The only distinction between Four Corners and Rink Race is in character flavor, and you may only play 1 (for tickets) per day!

Sign up for the Slayers!

The Slayers will become an official Hivestuck group with perks and events, so if your troll is interested, consider signing up!

If you'd like to sign up your troll(s), quote seekingCylem stating your troll's name and we'll add you to the list. If you've already RPed your troll signing up, make sure to shoot us a quote confirming it to make sure we have your name.

Aandes was ready for this. Now that he and Rasali were official, he was obligated to help her with her skating booth. But to be honest, he couldn't be happier (the thought of course made him sick, but there was really no getting around that). He was comfortable, in his element, and he actually (urk) liked the neon geometric glitz that Rasali had used to decorate the booth. Plus, he was getting some of the profits from his own saccharine frozen carbonated beverage dessert blend, so where was the problem? He spent his time gliding around the booth.

Aandes was wearing classic cream four-wheeled foot devices with the tops casually unlaced. Striped chocolate and cream laces with mint aglets adorned the look. He wore a large, matching jacket with shimmering brass accents, and slouchy fashion forward pants that would compliment the booth. He of course had a glow-ring around his neck in his blood color. Booth pride and all of that. Every outfit choice he made was carefully calculated from the angle of his hair to the shining of his skates' wheels. Rasali was looking for some dirty, strong, rough and tumble trolls for her league, but he had his own angle: the face to go with the body.

He felt a little roguish, using the booth as his own talent scouting opportunity, but he'd take what he could get. Aandes opened the booth and poured himself a cold beverage.

The first thing Forera did when she finished her booth was jump RIGHT out of it and drop Anguis in her chair. She assured Luxara she'd be right back, she promised, and instantly ran off with a loud, obnoxious gigglesnort. No, she wasn't leaving for like, forever, hehe, she'd be back! She loved their booth, and any opportunity she got to hold a gun and shoot someone— Err, thing, was GREAT!! She just wanted— no, NEEDED to move around right now. She felt all stuffy from spending so long drawing stuff on her booth. So as soon as the bright lights caught her eye, the tealblood immedeately turned and ran toward the booth, razor sharp teeth curled into a devilish smile. "Heeeya!!" She squealed in excitement, eyes darting around eagerly to the greenblood with the pomp on his head that passed by before landing on the sign up sheet. Her eyes sparkled. This is my calling.

      Or not.
As soon as she finished signing up and lacing her wheely-shoes or whatever— a little difficult, what with her spankin' new robo part— She almost tripped and fell standing up. WHOOOPS! Awkward! Well, whaaatever, Forera would easily come back! She managed to roll a little further before grabbing the rail desperately. Oof, this was hard work!

When the game started, the pierced tealblood managed to get through two rounds before getting tapped out. Or rather, falling out! Ow, that hurt her tush! Well, whatever, I'll just try again tomorrow!! She thought, rubbing her rush and rolling over to grab a couple of neon bracelets and necklaces, attaching them to her horns, her bracelets, neck... Everywhere they'd fit! She also got a drink, which cheered her right back up!! Man, this thing was goood!!

      ツ Lutrin Weesil

Lutrin stared, slightly agog, while Sugardad perched on her shoulder. She was frozen in the middle of the mainway. Crowds of trolls moved around her. Someone bumped into her but she seemed not to notice. It was her very first time attending Bloodfest and it was just a bit of a stimulation overload. The crowds, the sights, the sounds, the sounds...! She had every right to be awestruck, even if only temporarily.

A bass voice chittered into her sponge clot. Lutrin startled. “I'm all right,” she responded, a grin replacing her stunned expression. “There's just so much... of everything! I don't even know where to go first. I mean, look at all this! They've got booths for food, and games, and sports, and other things that I can't even describe!! Like, what is that even? They've got electric lights on strings, and that one has balloons, and the one over there is covered in something that looks like...” Lutrin let out a gasp. She turned to look at her lusus.

“What if there's not enough time to do everything? I need to do everything, Dad! It all looks so amazing! If I don't, I'll... I'll... I'll die!!” She huffed and sighed dramatically. In response, the the sugarglider pattered her neck with a tiny paw. He emitted a few slow, calming, bass squeaks. It was all right. They would find plenty of time. First she should just take a look around and...

“Oh my god.” A both with bright neon lights and loud, fast-paced music had caught her eye. And her ears. “That! I choose that!!” Without a second's delay Lutrin was dashing off.

Really, it had been the glowsticks that had drawn her in. Were they giving those away? For free? With a complete lack of guilt or shame, Lutrin grabbed what could only accurately be described as 'a whole bunch'. Then her eyes alighted on the sign-up sheet. She paused, reading. A second later, she was signing her name on the form for checking out skates. She had no idea what she was doing but she was determined to try everything, no matter what.

Once the skates were on her feet, she flew into the rink. She proceeded to promptly lose her balance and tip over.

She really had no idea what she was doing.

Sugardad drifted to the floor a little ways away.

She was still feeling much of the burn from her exposure to THE SUN at the cupcake booth just a ways away, and seeing the frozen carbonated beverages at the stand was more than enough reason to immediately dart towards it. She rubbed the heat-caused tears out of her eyes and thirstily sloshed the red flavor into a cup, then swigged the whole thing.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhh...

Aerona's head was spinning. She wobbled over to the side of the booth and caught her breath, exhausted. That was horrible. Just... Horrible.

She'd have to try it again tomorrow.

Once the putrid smell of sugar and spice resolved in her palate, Aerona looked around dizzily. She saw bright shapes and fun colors all around her, with two greenbloods on shoes with wheels. This was just her speed.

"Are you okay, red bean?" Sophitia chittered. She clambered up to Aerona, having been left behind to apologize for Aerona's mess. Aerona turned to her with a huge grin on her face. "Okay?! LOOK AT THIS!"

Emotional whiplash. Sophitia looked around. Sports, sugar, and... Oh dear. An Alternian roller derby team. That seemed kind of rough! No doubt Aerona would have a great deal of interest. "You should rest for a bit, I think." She suggested. Aerona pouted and looked around. Everything was still kind of... Dazzly. "Alright, mom. Let's go watch for a bit. Just a bit though!! I wanna know what this is all about!"

A sigh of relief from the lusus. She held onto her charge and walked her back over to the booth to check her out some skates on her own time. A quick nod to the stylish greenblood and she appraised the merchandise. "Would you like a glowstick?"

"Yes please!"

Taking the stick from her lusus, Aerona clasped it around her wrist and smiled. For once it was good to take a rest. She tapped her toes to Troll ABBA patiently, but when her lusus handed her some rental skates all bets were off. She flung off her dirty boots in record time and stood up shakily in her new duds. The sensation was completely bizarre.

"Whoa! Awesome!" Aerona could go so much faster with wheels on her feet. She grinned and held onto Sophitia, letting her tug her around before practicing on her own. Not bad! And it looked like there was a game going on, too: a fantastic way to practice.

Through sheer luck, Aerona managed to scoot around the pavement. Her lusus helped guide her, and when the music stopped she lasted three full turns without getting out. She was skating -- on her own! The feeling of her blood pusher was tense, but exciting. She was sure that once she got a hang of this, the feeling would be even better. When the music stopped and she was out, Aerona laughed. "I gotta sign up!" She squeaked to her lusus. Sophitia smiled nervously. At least she wasn't bashing into anyone yet.

Aerona pushed off to try to get back to the booth, but found that in the opening of the rink some orangeblood had fallen over. Aerona laughed and held out her hand to help the girl up. "Hey!! Nice biff! I like your wristbands!" She announced. It was saying a lot - in addition to her zany accessories, Lutrin had a whole bunch of awesome glowsticks to boot.

Something about the idea of Roller Derby appealed to Eostre Diazzi. Probably the shoving people and elbowing them in the face while racing. It was like boxing on wheels, which was neat. She hadn't particularly thought of it before she saw the booth, but it seemed fun enough to go play the game, after all.

She laced up a pair of blue roller skates, and went to grab a glow stick (obviously blue too), sliding it over her wrist. Eostre thought she might have to sign up for the derby if she enjoyed this as much as she thought she would.

Roller Derby. The words itself caught Klymen's eye as she passed by and she backed up, taking a closer look at the booth. The idea itself wasn't a bad idea, it looked kind of fun even and she decided to give it a try.

After lacing up the skates and managing to get into the rink without falling (surfing lessons probably helping in this regard) it only took Klymen a few minutes to adjust in the first round as she skated around. While she tried to look composed, just a seadweller who was super cool, inwardly she was excited. This was a little like the landdweller things she had been interested in and she had already gotten a good grip on it! Ecstatically, she took laps around as she listened to the game, randomly going over to corners when told to. It wasn't a hard game and she was more focused on the skating.

Somehow Klymen managed to survive seven rounds, which was plenty to be honest. She got out of the ring without much disappointment, grinning the whole time. She definitely wanted to come back again.

Alifax wasn't sure what the hell this was, but he had an opportunity to step away from people making stupid costumes, and there was no way that he wouldn't take it. He tied the laces on his four-wheeled trotter covers stoically and headed onto the floor. This was at least worth a try - he didn't want to spend the entirety of his recent windfall, but he could try his best. Of course he wasn't prepared for the immediate assault on his aural clots, but he'd deal with it so long as he didn't have to touch people.

And it didn't look like he did have to touch people. He just had to...keep going, and occasionally herd himself into a corner when the melody's rhythmic pulsations ceased. This was pretty easy.

Of course, his luck ran out eventually. He moved off the floor with a graceful smile and accepted his consolation prize of glowsticks to bring back to his booths. He'd have taken the drinks but he strongly preferred them...well, warm.

Aandes slid around the rink, offering encouragement to those attempting Four Corners. He smiled fondly, turning a full 360 on his heels, and saw some trolls reaching incredible successes! "Hey, great work!" He exclaimed. "For all of you who've got the hang of this and want a rougher excursion, the derby team may be for you. Sign up at the booth!"

He skated backwards to gesture at the signage and shot Rasali a wink. Damn, was he useful. He might as well pick some of these trolls' pans while he was at it... Now who did he see...

Eostre! He gave her a friendly wave as she rode past. She'd be a great shot for the team, and he endorsed her willingness to consider violent methods. However, she was her own starlet. Taking her in wouldn't be of much use to him. Besides, he'd grown up around her. How embarrassing to be known as the kid agent.

He sidled up next to the seadweller. Now this one had some style. She wasn't the best on her skating-legs just yet, but she had plenty of endurance in the ring. Was a purpleblood (particularly of the gilled variety) too much, though? He didn't want to get caught up in a situation with a troll that could easily cull him with their status. In the meantime, he decided to schmooze.

"Nice moves. You're really getting the hang of it; I'm impressed!"

Aandes vaguely registered Alifax nearby. He remembered him - the nobody from the earthquake. He was sort of.... Like burnt toast. Aandes wrinkled his nose subconsciously as he thought about the smell. Yeah, that was it. It would have taken much more effort than just cutting off the crusts and coating that in jam for it to be palatable. Oh well. Perhaps Rasali could use him in her brutish fighting league. Roller derby. Right.

Getting back on her feet proved to be an exercise in agility and patience. Every time she got one foot up and tried for the other, the first skate slipped. There had to be some trick to getting both skates under her simultaneously. Meanwhile Sugardad bounded in circles around her, squeaking moral support. It was the best he could do. Skating was unfamiliar territory for him.

Lutrin had not been down for long when help arrived. Clasping the hand that suddenly entered her vision, she pulled herself upright. She then appraised the troll that had helped her. It was a young redblood decked out in warm snow wear. Most notably she had freckles, a red flesh across her cheeks, teal gloves*, and a really cute hat with a pompom at the end. Lutrin wanted to touch it.

“Oooo!” Her mouth formed a small 'o'. “Thanks, thanks, and thanks again! Your hat is pretty cool too! Well warm. Cool in a warm way!” She beamed at the redblood. In the meantime, Sugardad had hopped onto Lutrin's right skate. He scampered up her leg, over her shorts, across her jersey, and onto her shoulder, all while wearing tiny boots. As he perched there, he adjusted his hat with an even tinier paw and gave a nod to Aerona and Sophitia.

“I've never skated before. It's so weird! Like running on water. Or what I imagine running on water would feel like. Hydroplaning with your front nubs! How many rounds did you get through?” If this girl was coming from the rink, clearly she knew what she was doing.

*Lutrin always had appreciation for a troll who threw an extra splash of colour into their clothes.

Roller skates were an alien object to Pragma. Heck, he hardly even wore shoes! But he was willing to try it at least once, so he strapped on a pair and took to the rinks. Surprisingly, though there was a lot of pinwheeling, it wasn't that hard. He made it pretty far in the competition, getting to round 7 before getting knocked out by a sad incident that resulted in him falling on his face and not being able to get up in time to make it to one of the corners. Oops. Nevertheless, he'd definitely be coming back tomorrow. This was fun!

Voscil had to have a chance at roller skating. The first thing she did was grab a carbonated beverage, even if the hyperactive kid really didn't NEED extra sugar. Still, she was slurping away as soon as she laid eyes on the booth and got close enough to partake. Once that was done, Vos was off rushing to get herself a try at what was to come. Yesterday she'd been too busy with her own booth to make it to many others.

The little speedy troll was there, johnny on the spot to get herself a pair of skates that would fit, little more than a yellow blur as she bounced up and down behind the counter. Once helped, she hugged the pair that had been handed to her. "Thanks!!!" She giggled wildly, a childish grin stretching her lips. Racing off to the bench, Voscil squinted at the circular track. The only problem being she'd never used a pair of roller-blades before. MamaJu had always been convinced she'd never see her child again if she'd been able to master the art of the wheelies. Excitement fueled her steps as she kicked off her tennis shoes and hurriedly pulled her roller-blades on.

"Yahooooo~!" She wobbled and flailed around, trying to push herself around like she was running. Sure, Vos found the right momentum and shot forward but it lacked any self control. Her eyes went wide as she wibbled and flailed around instead of taking a left turn to follow the path...the yellowblood psionic kept going crashing through the nearest wall like some kind of saturday morning wiggler cartoon in the shape of her body and horns.

Landing outside with a rude thud, she blinked rolling over and of all things burst out into a giggle fit. Well then! THAT certainly didn't go acording to plan. Woopse. Sheepishly she shuffled back to the rental counter after a bit of pratice outside the initial test just to try and get the hang of them, zooming from one direction to the next before it was time to put an end to the fun.

"Um sorry about your wall, but I'll be BACK tomorrow!" She wiggled with delight as she forked over the goods and skipped back to her shoes and pulled them on hurriedly, tying terrible looking bows and sticking around just for a bit to watch some of her fellow trolls skate around to pick up a few tips and tricks. When boredom kicked in, the little yellow blurr fluttered around for a bit more until she realized there would be no free refills. Instead she made off with her glowsticks, adding a bit of color to the yellow dashing figure as she waved goodbye, still for only a fraction of a few seconds and was gone into the night to find more booths.

Okay, Trusci really had no idea what the heck this roller derby stuff was about, but Duckmom never let her have roller skates as a kid so she had to try it out anyway. How hard could it be? You were just strapping wheels to your feet to achieve maximum velocity.

Well, some more velocity than others, as she dully noted the yellowblood child zooming the rink. Terminal velocity.

Still, Trusci didn't have much time to check out the booths on the previous day, since she was busy with her own booth of exciting proportions, so she was eager to see what this was all about! Strapping the skates on, she tried not to wobble too much, but fact of the matter was she had no idea what she was doing and probably wouldn't for a while.

And it showed, as she got out almost immediately. Hey, it was fun though, sort of? Maybe she'd be back. After all, anything she failed spectacularly at made her only want to try harder!
