Patrolling was something that didn't come easily to a man like Albert. He was the intelligent sort, yes, but the type to study a situation from a distance and make and adjust plans. He was not the sort to go out and physically do things, despite what those now fading-with-time nightmares of a dark future tried to tell him.
Still, he needed to at least try to take a more active role, and if patrolling would help him be better able to protect and shelter his daughter - especially now that she was more directly caught up in this terrible fight - then he would do it. Besides, with any luck he could find the cat that had dared awaken his precious baby and hand her over to an animal shelter.
Or a rescue - the sort that would feed the fat little thing diet kibble. She would regret endangering his Emily Wren further by putting her on the front lines!
Maybe he was being a little ridiculous, plotting diabolical revenge against a cat, albeit a talking, magical one. But that was the sort of person he was, and Kells was nothing if not confident in his own identity. That being said, this patrol was peaceful thus far but very, very boring.
A good thing, perhaps, but all it meant to Kells was that trouble was active somewhere else instead of here, where he could deal with it.

Okay. Patrolling was totally something she could do. With Matt and Yuki's sleep schedules, it was easy enough to squeeze an hour or so in between work and getting home to sleep. Her earliest class wasn't until noon, so it wasn't like she couldn't spare the time. She'd have to figure things out a little better later, but for the moment, it would work. She's only been 'awakened' for a little over a week. And being someone who was labeled a 'terrorist' [what the ******** did they think those monsters were?!] was a little nerve-wracking.
And yet, there was something natural about being Hyakutake. It was like she'd been missing something, and suddenly that missing something had clicked into place.
Running about her chosen venue was easy enough, as it was something she was highly used to, with her parkour activities. But the odd feel of something else in the area, something 'right', was new. The blonde paused, blinking before she continued on to find a man wearing a...silver and blue and white outfit. And he was the one the feeling came from. Was he, perhaps, like her. Only one way to find out. She took a deep breath, and hopped down from where she'd stopped.
"Hello?"

Kells wasn't particularly experienced himself, but he did know enough to recognize that the approaching aura was... not quite the same thing as his, and so he was somewhat more prepared for to greet the senshi that called out to him than she apparently was to see him. Perhaps she was new at this, then? "Ah! Hello, my dear, and good evening to you. May I have the pleasure of your name - and perhaps your company? It's far safer to travel - or, as I suspect in both our cases, patrol - as a pair, rather than alone."

Oh! So he was something like her. But...definitely different. Yes, definitely different. She gave him a smile, and the kind of bow she gave at the end of a performance. "The company would certainly be appreciated! I am rather new to this, so..." She giggled sheepishly. "I'm afraid I'm still learning the ropes." The senshi moved closer, holding out her hand once close enough.
"Hyakutake, Senshi of Willows. And you?"

"Would that I could say I have years of experience under my belt with which to guide you," Kells said, and took her hand in his. "But sadly, I have less than a year, and much of that spent in ignorance of what, precisely, I needed to be doing. I am called Kells. It's a pleasure to meet you, Hyakutake." Bringing her hand to his mouth, he brushed his lips over her knuckles gently, then released it. "If this patrol remains as peaceful as it has been for me thus far, perhaps you would agree to a ... practice session, of sorts. I'm sure we could both use the preparation, and I've seen the way senshi fight - it's very different from my own capabilities. If you're as new as you say, you could use the exposure to other styles." That, and it would give him an excuse to spend more time with this very pretty young lady. Not that this was any sort of motive to his actions tonight. Not at all.

"Seems we're in similar boats with different circumstances in getting there, then." Her cheeks colored a bit when he kissed her knuckles. "A pleasure, Kells. Do you perhaps have a book?" She couldn't resist. She really couldn't. Not when she loved the history of the place and the book...
"I wouldn't mind that at all. I do need practice." Especially since her magic seemed to be defensive. "So...what are you, if not a senshi?" She was curious, so curious.
And he was cute. She would fully admit he was very cute. Just...not to anyone else.

"As a matter of fact," Kells said, smiling as he pulled his 'weapon' out to show the young lady. "Supposedly this is supposed to be of use to me, somehow, but I have yet to divine just what that use is. Unless you count hitting things over the head with it, in which case it seems to do just as well as any other book." "As to what I am... well, I'm a knight - although I technically won't reach that specific title until I'm more experienced, I should think..." He paused and coughed, a little awkwardness creeping into his voice and a blush onto his face. "I suppose I could be called a Page, but I'm a bit past the age bracket for that traditional ranking..." A pity, wasn't it, that he was such a late bloomer?

"Maybe it'll reveal its secrets as time goes on?" She giggled, amused. Kells, the Page with a book. "I'm not entirely certain 'tradition' has anything to do with what we've found ourselves a part of, really." She motioned in the direction they'd been going before meeting. "Shall we walk and talk?" Two birds with one stone, in a hopefully quiet patrol. [Though...quiet perhaps wasn't as nice as she hoped it would be...It meant the trouble could be elsewhere.]
"And who is to say tradition for what we are isn't different from the tradition of what we know?" That was a possibility, really. After all, historians were often finding things they knew for one area certainly did not apply to another.

"Perhaps it will," Kells said with a quiet chuckle. "But I doubt very much that it will be tonight. As to tradition, I'm certain there is some kind of tradition involved in out current roles, but whatever it once was is probably long-forgotten, or perhaps waiting to be invented." With a slight nod, he began moving in the direction she had indicated. "I wonder if there's some sort of information source we could consult on this... whatever it is we're caught up in. A war, certainly, but what sort of war? Good and evil, order and chaos... it's all well and good to say that, but wars are fought by people, and people are rarely so simple." He wanted - no, needed to find out more. To work out what was really going on here. It was the first step to actually being able to do something about it.

"Good things come to those who wait." Hyakutake kept step beside him with ease, used to keeping stride with someone much taller than her. "Finding more people would be...useful, yes. Those who have been a part of this war for longer, who have more information than we do." She wasn't sure what, exactly, she'd been brought into...but perhaps she could find Ash again later and ask her more. Or at least ask to be pointed in the right direction. Ash had seemed like the sort of person [feline?] with connections.
"I do know that there are monsters out there. I know what they feel like. And I have family and friends to protect from them." She'd been given power. She would use it the best she could.

"True enough, but that doesn't mean that waiting is always the best option," Kells pointed out, turning to offer the pretty senshi a smile as they walked. "Sometimes a little initiative can provide more payoff in the long run than those who are content to wait may ever dream of." Something about this conversation, how philosophical it was... it was vaguely familiar, he supposed. Probably just déjà vu, that. "Yes," he agreed, then set his jaw. "But the monsters are the milder foe. The worse enemies are those who control the monsters - or rather, the monsters in the shape of men. I'm not usually one to jump to that sort of view of fellow humans... but those who attack a party with children, who kidnap and torture young ones and adults alike? They deserve no other title." If Hyakutake hadn't heard about that yet.... well, she certainly would now.

"That is true, yes. Really though, everything is a balance game. Knowing when to push and when to wait." The smile made her blush a bit, the girl trying to remind herself what had happened the last time she'd let herself swoon over a charming smile and conversation. But her ex hadn't been the same.
Kells' words as he continued, however, and her heart sank. "What?" She tried to wrap her mind around that, tried to figure out why anyone would do such a thing, and found herself unable to come up with an answer that was ethical in her mind. "When did this happen? What happened?"

"New Years'," Kells said grimly. "You may remember there being a very... messy situation at a public ball? It..." He shook his head and swallowed. "It wasn't an innocent public event - it was a trap. And considering the way the night turned out, I think it was specifically to take whatever knights and senshi they could." He grimaced, glancing at Hyakutake out of the corner of his eye to gauge her reaction to his words. "They had to weaken everyone first, of course, and so they did. I never quite worked out how, they did, but there were children in attendance, too. I can only imagine how they were affected, the poor little ones..."

"That..." She paled, things clicking into place. "Oh no. I was there. I...I passed out, and I knew there was something strange. I've done hundreds of events like that growing up, and I perform for a living, I shouldn't have been faint at all..." She shuddered. Those poor little ones...
"Whoever was behind it, I'll happily help punch their teeth out." She was completely serious, pale eyes icy. Hyakutake was, definitely, one who was protective of children.

"Unfortunately, I think it was a rather large-scale attack," Kells said, frowning. "Meaning more than one culprit, and quite a lot of teeth to punch out." He paused, then shrugged slightly. "Though I suppose that means it's a good thing there will be at least two of us doing so, doesn't it?"
