It had taken more than a little convincing to get his parents to agree to his little excursion, no matter how old he was. To be fair, if Lorne was in their shoes, he'd probably be as skeptical as they were. He was even feeling pretty skeptical about the whole thing. He'd sort of secured himself a place back in the states, but with no pictures to go on and a man with an interesting name and no face to go with it, he'd made sure he'd bought enough cash to set himself up in a hotel while he got his bearings - just in case. Now after a long flight riddled with anxiety and unanswered questions, he emerged from customs with his life basically either strapped to his back or being dragged along behind him. Every inch of his body was comprised of frayed nerves, half terrified and half thrilled. For better or worse... hopefully someone would be here to pick him up and take him back home. To the battleground he'd neglected.

Trevor blew out a lightly breath , he wasn't all for driving his car to pick him up, because it was polluting the air. He tossed his keys up in the air and drove to the airport to pick up his possible roomate. He yawned lightly, having to patrol late at night was messing up his sleep schedule. He picked up some hot chocolate for himself to help him stay awake.
After while of driving he had arrived at the airport more awake then he was when he left. He parked his car and got out and went to the passenger arrival area. He scanned around to see if he could spot his possible room mate. Picking him up would probably put a step towards starting off on a good foot and making a good first impression.frayedflower Trevor is just going to pick him up from the airport

People were starting to file out - it wasn't a huge airport, and they'd hit sort of a lull between flights, so the lobby didn't have many people left straggling behind. Lorne spared a look around as he made his way through towards the door and then beyond into the sunlight - his first moment back in the States proper beyond the plane and the bag check. After being abroad so long, it was a little jarring to be so engulfed in English, but it also felt a little more like home.
People were exiting with him, or just in front of him. There a mother with a screaming toddler. An old man with a duck hat. Another older gentleman with a ponytail and a suit. A girl in sweats who he remembered as the one that had insisted on sticking her feet up on his arm rest. Impossibly rude.
He was all ready to hail a cab when he hit the passenger pick-up area, but another stolen glance and -
- there a guy with short dark hair and brown eyes waiting there. Handsome guy, really. Wonder who he was waiting for? - Lorne hoped it wasn't the foot girl as he lowered his head and turned to keep his eye out for the illustrious cab.
StarshineAngel01 Here you go magical Trevor! Aren't you feeling ever so clever? - please tell me you get it xd

Trevor stretched slightly and continued to scan the people disembarking from the plane. He tapped his chin idly as he watched a mother and a screaming toddler pass by and then saw a girl in sweats pass by a well. He frowned a bit, he didn't actually know who this guy was and didn't know what he looked like either.
But, after a bit he saw a guy standing off to the side with his head lowered waiting for a elusive cab that probably would take forever to get to the airport. He assumed that was Lorne. He walked over to him and spoke up "just a shot in the dark, are you Lorne?" he asked lightly as he waited for the other to reply. As he did so he took a few minutes to look him over, he seemed like a nice enough guy. He thought about thoughtfully if everything went alright from this moment on he could get use to having a room mate. He had is apartment to himself long enough, but during those times when he was dating Lily she came over so he didn't mind the company.
He frowned a little as his thoughts wandered back briefly over to Lily, that was something he was still getting over. It was hard to get over a first love if anything. He frowned some more but after a bit shook his head and went to focus on the task at hand, making a good impression on his potential room mate.frayedflower I um..unfortunately did not get that sweatdrop

Out of nowhere, someone said his name, and it was obvious he was taken by surprise; Lorne's head jerked to a side to stare at him, his jaw slackening as he realized it was the nicer looking guy. The first thought he had was, oh, suppose he wasn't waiting for foot girl after all. Then, oh damn, was this the mystery roommate? Who else would it be? He definitely didn't recognize him from his time in Destiny City before, and since he knew his name, well --
The third thought was he was being terribly rude, staring like this without saying anything. "Y-yes, hello... " He cracked a smile, more than a bit nervously. "Trevor... I presume?" he asked hopefully, idly shifting the weight of his luggage to provide himself a brief distraction. "You came all the way here for me?" he asked quietly, glancing back at him through his bangs. "You didn't have to go through all that trouble for me, " but he was smiling subtly even as he said it.

Trevor smiled lightly at the other, he blinked as he gave the other a few seconds to recover before speaking up "Yes, I 'am" he said nodding lightly. He decided lets try again "its a pleasure to formally meet you Lorne, my Name is Trevor" he said to him.
He nodded his head "I did come all the way here to come get you at the airport, I figured it would be better then trying to catch a elusive cab, they are really hard to come by, or at least I think they are. I walk, bike, and run to my destinations" he explained. He shrugged a bit "I figured it would be a good way to make first good impression" he said. He glanced at Lorne's luggage "I can help you with those" he said.

Okay, so check one worry off the list - first, Trevor was actually a real person. Bonus points for being a considerate, polite person who didn't look like he spent all of his time living in a basement or something equally insane and off putting. Granted, plenty of serial killers had been handsome, considerate seeming men --
Walk, bike, or run? He clearly had a car, "For the environment?" he asked, and realized how surprised he sounded only after it was too late. "I mean, just... if you do, that's a good thing, is all, " he murmured, shifting again. And what a coincidence it would be. The fortunate kind. Potential for added bonus points. Still didn't mean he'd wake up tomorrow, but -- "Oh, no, you don't have to do that, you already came all this way for me, " he rambled on as he shifted the way again. Again, polite. He didn't want to get careless, but it sure felt like the universe was tossing him a bone for taking the plunge.

Trevor nodded his head "I more often decide to use other modes of transportation to save the environment, but at times I will drive if my destination is farther" he explained, He liked saving the enthronement even though he was only one person, he sure hoped that more people would follow the environmentally friendly approach, the Earth's atmosphere is a fragile element.
He nodded his head once again respecting his request, "shall we get going? so you can take a look at the apartment?" he asked as he waited for his answer from the other. "My car is this way" he said gesturing a little "and you can put your luggage in the trunk and head over, and whether or not you take me up on the offer to be my room mate is solely up to you" he said lightly to the other boy.

The guy was exceedingly polite; against Lorne's best attempts to keep as logical and level-headed about the situation as possible, he was getting hopeful. Please don't be insane, he thought to himself with a long, slow breath, brushing his hair out of his face. Please please don't be insane. "That sounds wonderful, " he said, following along and depositing his luggage gently in the trunk. Not a bad car, either, he noted, allotting a few extra points of legitimacy to Team Trevor.
"I can't wait to see it, " he said earnestly, flashing him a smile - although his eyes were averted, they weren't unfriendly. He was trying hard to be social, but he was pushing himself a little. The year in France and a relationship had done his shyness some good, but it was still a struggle, especially when he was exhausted. "You said it's near the campus, right?"

Trevor nodded his head "I apologize for the lack of pictures to show you when you originally inquired about it. My evening life tends to get a little hectic after the day is done" he said, not sure that it was the right time to tell him since they just met and all. He shut the trunk once Lorne had deposited his luggage in the trunk and walked around to the drivers side. "Get it, we shall be there in no more then 20-30 mins, are you hungry? did you want to drop by somewhere and get some food?" he asked.
He was pretty sure the Flight was probably a long one, and he wasn't entirely sure if the plane provided him food or not. "It is a neatly kept place and a clean it up every so often when I have the time" he told him and nodded his head "Yup, all the buildings your classes are in are at least walking distance from the apartment" he told him. As he slid into the drivers side and shut his door.

Evening life hectic - hey, perfect, "That's perfectly fine; I usually like to go out during the evening too, " he admitted, then wished he hadn't. Hopefully Trevor wouldn't take that as an invitation to come along with him. But he'd already said it, and he couldn't very well take it back now, and he'd probably just taken an ideal situation and ruined it. Good job in the first five minutes of roommate interaction.
Take a deep breath, he chided himself as he opened the passenger's side door. Who was to say Trevor wasn't the type of guy who wanted his space? No, it was still good, it was still fine. Maybe he just had an evening job or something. That wasn't unlikely. It just meant that if Lorne came came late, he was a lot less likely to bother him while he was sleeping. If he decided to live with him. (If he wasn't really a murderer after all. Still not out of the realm of possibility.)
"Food - " Even if he didn't want to be too much trouble, his stomach was undeniably growling. Air plane food just wasn't worth the plastic it was wrapped in. "I mean, if you haven't eaten yet, that would be nice, " there; that put the choice back in Trevor's hands, whatever worked best for him.
Some more apartment details, good ones to note - probably clean. Convenient location. All pros, of course. "I never asked, " he realized as he slid into the car, quickly buckling his safety belt. "Do you have any pets?"

Trevor nodded his head, they just met so he wouldn't disclose what he truly did at night, maybe later along the line he will. "So, if you do intend on living with me, you don't have to worry about waking me up or anything, because likely chance is I'll be home really late" he said, sometimes his evening life took him all night.
"I actually haven't eaten yet, so yes we shall make a detour to get some food in our bellies, anything in particular you want to eat?" he asked the other, he was relieved so far this meeting wasn't a total disaster yet and he really home it wouldn't. He shook his head at his other question "No, I do not have any pets, just you know me and the apartment so you won't get greeted by a dog or anything." he said A pet was under consideration just in case he got lonely and needed a friend, he would invest in a pet.
He focused on the road but at the same time was carefully choosing which questions to ask him to see if he could get to know him more. "do you have any pets?" he asked him.

It was almost like Trevor knew what was going on in his head - which wasn't terrible. It meant less to have to explain. "Oh gosh, I don't know... I feel like I should say typical Americana fast food grease trap fare, but I don't know how my stomach will actually take it, " he joked (lamely), rubbing around his stomach like it ached already with s soft laugh. "It's been a few years - do you have any recommendations, Trevor?"
Pets. He laughed again, shaking his head. "Oh, no no - my parents got a dog when we moved, but I've never - the right pet never really came along, you know?" he asked, shrugging his shoulders idly.

Trevor pondered a bit ,he wasn't sure where to go to eat. Since he wasn't sure what Lorne's tummy could handle. "hmm..how about instead of going out I make a homemade snack for you" he told him, he wasn't sure why he offered but it seemed like a good idea "like..something simple for example soup, do you think your tummy can handle soup?, we can slowly introduce American food back into your system" he said and furrowed his brow, why was he all of a sudden concerned for Lorne's well-being.
"i don't necessarily have found the right pet either, just because it was a thought that never occurred to me" he explained to the other.

A potential new home lay ahead, along with the offer of home made soup. Which most likely wasn't poisoned, although the fact that the idea even still occurred to Lorne - he wondered if he was the healthy kind of aware, or bordering on paranoid by now? "My tummy's always been quite a fan of soup, actually, " he teased with a slight smile, tucking his hair behind his ear as he added politely, "If it's not too much trouble, that would be great. - thank you."
The right pet, no. Neither of them had one of those.
The right roommate though - this might actually work.
