A lonely looking hunter kid seemed to be stalking the hallways. Dylon, being the social butterfly he was, toddled up beside him with a smile.

"Hi buddy!" He clapped the boy on the back. "Wassup?"

Oliver was not 'stalking' so much as he was 'searching'. He had a great many things on his person, and although they were usually safely contained in a great many pockets, there was still a high chance of certain items getting lost as he scurried around the island.

He had quickly concluded there were no dinosaur-stickered forceps hiding in the dorms, but as he stepped to one side to let someone pas, and his eyes scanned the last remaining corners for his lost item, a firm hand landed on his back. Arorangi had unintentionally prepared him for this action, but the boy still jumped a couple inches.

"Um, h-hello," he stammered out, recognizing the older hunter from a brief encounter during his hazy, terrified, fresh-from-the-pod trainee days. It didn't do much for Oliver's comfort level. "I-I'm, um... h-have you seen, uh, forceps? A-anywhere?"

"Forceps?" Dylon parroted back, keeping an arm around the other man as he lifted his eyes in thought. "Don't think I have. How did you lose a pair of forceps?"

"O-oh..." Oliver sounded half disappointed, but he also resembled a skittish deer, waiting for a sign it was time to bolt. "I-I think I was, um, looking for something else i-in my pockets, yesterday, uh... They might have fallen out... I was, um, in a bit of a hurry..."

"This might be the obvious question, but have you checked the lost and found?" Dylon asked, smiling regardless of the boy's skittish speaking.

"I don't suppose it'd be easier to have them replaced, huh?"

Oliver blinked. "We h-have a lost and found?"

He supposed getting a replacement pair was an option, but it seemed like a waste of resources if he could just find the ones he lost. Besides, the scowls from Jack were just not worth it. Most of his things turned up again sooner or later thanks to the dinosaur stickers that had found their way onto most of his lab equipment.

"Actually, I don't know if we do." Dylon laughed at that, "Seemed like a good idea, though. It sure beats combing the hallways, right?"

Dylon clapped the boy on the shoulder again, placing his hands into his pockets.

"I could help. Deus is a big place for one person to crawl through."

Oliver nodded, if they had a lost and found he could just check it every day on his way to the labs. Like the felyne village area in Monster Hunter. It was a nice thought, having his things just return to one safe, dependable place whenever he lost them.

"I-it's okay, they will probably just turn up in the labs..." He replied, nervously scratching the scar that crossed the bridge of his nose. "Y-you don't have to help..."

"Oh..." Dylon mused, tilting his head. Well, he couldn't argue there. But there was a stretch of hallway and an hour before he needed to work. Either he could run off to find a quickie, or he could force this kid to socialize with him.

"SO." He started, "Do you normally carry forceps around with you?"

Without a distinct goal in mind, such as finding his missing implements, Oliver had a difficult time reigning in his more skittish tendencies. Perhaps it was forced socialization on his part too.

"I-I do, they are really useful. Um, I keep them with my scissors..." The boy trailed off as he reached into a pocket inside his jacket, and pulled them out as if to check that they were still there and not similarly gone missing. "Yeah, uh, I-I work with a lot of samples, a-and you never know when you need tweezers or something. Th-thank you again, for offering to help me find them!"

Oliver put the scissors away, and patted down a couple other pockets on the inside of his jacket to make sure the forceps were not simply misplaced. There were many, many pockets visible on the inside of his coat.

"Aaaah~ Lab stuff, eh?" Dylon chuckled, "I like carrying a utility belt when I'm on repair duty." The young man mused, striding alongside Oliver with confidence.

"Tools of the trade!"

"Yeah," Oliver agreed, warming up a little to the other man. It wasn't often someone understood his desire to have what he needed on hand, rather than ridicule him for the things he kept in his pockets. He was not very strong, and so it gave him a little extra confidence knowing he was prepared for many different situations.

The freckled kid wasn't paying too much attention to where they were going, but he wasn't in a rush to get anywhere, and Dylon seemed comfortable enough with their heading. "What sort of things do you repair?" He asked, shy but still curious.

"Well, stuff around Deus that needs maintenance. Back when we had that storm I was on window replacement duty for a week solid." He laughed, remembering it fondly. "I can fix them in my sleep, now."

"I'm trying to learn a little about runic tech too, so I can build and repair the things that make this island run better."

"Like runic video games?" Oliver asked hopefully, and his eyes practically sparkled. There were many other runic devices more important to the island's functionality, from the portals to the appliances they cooked their food on, even some of the meters Oliver had used in the labs, but none were as important to the boy as his favourite pastime.

He smiled brightly. "That's really amazing though, do you also go diving for rune stones? I only did that once myself... I-it was kinda frightening..."

"Um.." Dylon smiled, baffled for a moment. "Not sure it would be my top priority but.. sure?' He laughed it off.

Dylon inhaled deeply and sharply. "Diving?" He grinned. "No! I had no idea! Ooooooh I love swimming. I was on the swim team in High School." He really ought to try it out.
