Treide hardly knew what to do with herself. While the endless desert surrounding Chittentown usually sparked interest and excitement in the redblood, it did little to sate her growing boredom. Sighing, she took to padding about the sands, singing in a loud, obnoxious squeal that might have destroyed the eardrums of those around her. Thankfully, only the sand dunes were giving their company.
Her exploration that night had led to the large busthind mountains. She hesitated and hummed softly, eyeing them in delight and trepidation. A sharp yip made the girl pivot on heel. Giggling, she waved as Coyotedad plodded forward and nudged his charge in the direction of home. "Pawpaw, it'll be fun! Come on!"
Much to Coyotedad's dismay, Tre took off towards the large cave and mountains, giggling incessantly. Yipping, he took chase. It as a halfhearted affair. He could pounce and stop her in a blink of an eye. No, running about in the fresh night air was perfectly fine, and since he was there, she was certainly not going to get into too much trouble.
Treide rounded a corner, her eyes locked on her following father, when she smacked into something. Screeching ins surprise, she flopped backwards and rolled. "W-wha the - What was that?!"

There were others traveling between the thinning line between the mountainside and great desert. Though these two were just kind of wandering for the time being, in hopes of finding anything sticking out of the dunes or shining from the sand. "'Ey, Mum, didya know there's somethin' a lot like sand called 'snow'? But it's white an' you can EAT IT. Isn't that somethin'? I heard some trolls talkin' about it. An' it falls from the SKY! Can you imagine? It's like the sky's a salt shaker!" Reemus enthused as he walked along with his lusus beside him.
Gillian woofed.
"So...if snow comes from the sky...where does sand come from?" He looked up at the stars above and squinted, trying to make a logical connection between these things. Woofmum on the other hand could only wolfily grumble, not knowing herself. It's not like it mattered to her, so she didn't bother to know. She didn't stop Reemus from wondering however.
Her ears twitched at the sounds of something approaching just in time for something to run into her. Hard. Reemus could be rough sometimes, but he was a predictable child. No, the troll who just bounced off the howlbeast wasn't her charge. Gillian just blinked at Treide as she rolled away.
Reemus on the other hand had jumped in surprise. "What in the-?! ...Oh. Uh. Sorry, mate. You okay down there?" He made a move to go help the redblood up, not noticing Coyotedad for the moment.

Treide giggled nervously when the world stopped spinning and she heard another voice. It was friendly. Blinking, Reemus finally came into view. Blowing out from her lower lip, a whiff of hair fluttered up as well as her hood, "Ehehehe. Jeeze. Sorry about that. I uh, I wasn't paying attention. I was playing with my Dad." Sitting up, the coyote troll shook out her arms, sand billowing in the air, "I'm Treide! Treide Arraki! You look cool. What's ya name?" She smiled broadly, sharp teeth peeking from her lips, "Sorry for running into your lusus. Are they okay?" Coyotedad approached and yipped softly before sitting on his haunches. Eyeing both trolls and the other patron, he came to the conclusion they were not dangerous and laid down.

"Don' worry, mate! I do that kinda thing a lot meself! Uh. Well. Not with a Dad. But me Mum!" Reemus smiled a bit as he realized that the other kid was okay. And she was a bit of a talker! It was almost hard to keep up. "I'm Reemus! N' yeah I think she's okay. I don' think y' even ruffled her fur."
Gillian boofed as if in agreement.
"See? All's well." Reemus nodded, hands on his hips, looking totally sure of himself. His lusus padded over to Coyotedad and sniffed at him in the meantime.
"So what were ya playin' with yer lusus anyhow? Maybe I'll know what kinda game it was!"

Treide chirped brightly, "Tag! Kinda..." It was more like Treide was running from her following father, who wanted desperately for the little pup to get back and behave herself. Oh well, she shrugged, "Oh oh oh! Do you wanna play? I bet you're real fast. It'd be so much fun." Normally boundless with energy, Treide felt an extra perk in her step from the contact of a new troll. He seemed rather friendly too. Reemus... Heh. Coyotedad picked his head up and sniffed Gillian back before yipping softly in a greeting. Standing, the lusus shuddered a stretch out and flicked it away with his back paw.

"Sure!" He bounced. Invitations to do things with people was the best! "Oh, uh, but..." He paused and scratched his head. He didn't recognize the word 'tag'. "How d'ya play exactly?" It's not that Reemus lived under a rock or anything, just that most of his early childhood was spent with his lusus more than not. He had played plenty, but mainly with his howlbeast of a mother who didn't relate things to troll terms if she didn't have to. "I mean, I am fast!" When he wanted to be. And when he wasn't dying of hunger. That sure could put a damper on things sometimes.
Gillian let out a loud bark in return to the soft greeting. Her kiddo had to get it from somewhere. She wasn't the most interested in other trolls, but seeing lusii somewhat like her was...a different story.

"YOU don't know how to play TAG?" Treide stared at Reemus with a clearly baffled look, "It's super simple! I touch you, and you're it! And then you try and catch and touch me. If I'm touched, then I'm it! And we keep trying to outrun whoever is it." Triede felt proud of her explanation, even if it was said quickly and with much vigor. Hopefully Reemus could understand. If not, she supposed a good way to learn was just to do. CD tilted his head, his ear twitching gently. The howlbeast was much larger than he, but instead of intimidating he found the other interesting. Comforting almost.

"Oh! Yeh, okay, I've played that game before, but I never, uh...knew it by no troll name..." He sheepishly scratched the back of his head, looking at his lusus. "Mum just kinda called it grr grrr grrrrr with a tail wag n' all."
Woofmum meanwhile sniffed at Coyotedad some, yawned, and sat down for the time being. If this other lusus was a problem, she could probably take him out. Or show him his place. For now, she wasn't concerned.
Everyone seemed to be getting along. Great! Reemus stretched and said. "So, mate, if ya wanna play..." He ran up, pushed Treide's shoulder, and scooted away. "Grr!"Magician Arcana I feel like this is going to escalate quickly and each time he tags her it's getting closer and closer to accidentally using enough force to make her bruise. :')

Relief washed over Treide. Phew! At least the kid knew what tag was... If not, gosh that would be a fate worse than death! Or or or, or not getting to sing! Which was worse? For a moment she pondered the idea until her shoulder was shoved. "Eh?" OH! They were playing. That's what you got for being a tidge spacey and excited. Grinning from ear to ear the troll sped across the desert, her feet digging into the sand and moving with an agility that said she was used to this task. After all, adventuring in the desert meant danger and danger meant fleeing. Those two were together like... like... sopor and sleep! She launched herself at Reemus, attempting to catch his arm or leg - whatever body part was left unguarded and closest. Gl!tch~ Aww haha! I hope so. -bricked- That'd be cute.

Excellent! the redblood caught right on. Reemus kept running, looking over his shoulder as Tre gave chase. When she closed in enough to leap, he saw her coming, and deftly ducked under and rolled in the sand, getting some of it in his hair. However, he was not skilled at immediately getting back up in one smooth motion. This could easily work against him.

Treide, on the other hand, had practiced fluidly moving from falling to running. It was one of the skills CD had taught her. Otherwise, surviving in the harsh desert close to dawn was nigh impossible. With shinning eyes, the coyote child slid in the sand and swiftly regained her feet. Propelling herself with a swift kick, she practically tackled into Reemus. Slapping his arm lightly, she shot off like a rocket in a new direction, considering where or how to hide. It seemed the hiding places were slim and she kept running instead. CD trotted behind the children, bemused by their antics and attitudes. He didn't know what the other lusii spoke... Perhaps some troll? He didn't speak it himself, never met a lusus who really could.

"Aww, ya got me!" He scurried to his feet and chased after her, nearly slipping in the sand. Reemus went as fast as he could, beelining and catching up bit by bit. While Treide had managed to avoid slamming into him, he was not as deft or graceful. As soon as the yellowblood got the opportunity to close the distance with a jump, he took it, even if it meant ending with them both in a heap.
Woofmum had started to follow when Coyotedad did, not sure she wanted to leave another lusus closer to her child than she. Gillian kept up a decent pace, nowhere even near a speedy walk, but wasn't alert until Reemus jumped at Treide. The howlbeast had no idea how the other canine might react. As far as she was concerned, however, it was good pup development for a little bit of tussling sometimes.

Treide turned just in time to watch the body of Reemus the troll hurl through the air and crash into her. Yelping she felt them roll repeatedly and end in a heap in the sand. For a moment Tre tried to get her vision to stop spinning wildly, but that was proving more difficult than usual. Laughing wildly, she shoved playfully at Reemus, "You big ol' wuffbutt! Whatcha doin that for ehehe. Get offa me! Come on come on!" Her laughing wheezed out harshly. CD had been tense after the lunge, not so much to protect his daughter from the other troll, but for what Gillian would do. When it became clear than neither lusii was going to react badly, he chuffed a soft laugh and flicked his tail happily before leaning out and licking at Gillian's ear in good natured affection.

Even though this was basically a foregone conclusion to his actions, Reemus was still dazed at first from the combination of a collison with a troll, then the ground...multiple times, and finally, stopping. Treide was recovering faster than he was by a long shot. At first he simply rolled off of her after she demanded him to do so, and lie in the sand for a second, catching his breath.
"I was just taggin'..." the yellowblood said, simple in tone and simple in thought. He looked over Tre's way. "N' my wuffbutt ain't big, mate! Yours is!" Now he was just teasing.
Woofmum startled some at being licked. She cocked her head Coyotedad's way. Was he hitting on her?

Perhaps she had been too quick to try and regain herself. Treide attempted to sit up, but ended falling back with a WHUMP on the sand. Giggling less and less, she rubbed her abdomen, "Heh! Am not, am not! You got the big butt." Turning her head his way, she stuck out a tongue playfully. Pushing against the sand with both elbows, she sat up and crossed her legs below her, "You're fast!" Coyotedad whuffed softly, a higher pitched sound than Gillian made. Too bad they didn't speak the same language.
