There is a tiny little park in Halloween Town. It's pretty much abandoned and covered with graffiti, but once in a while people pass by and see it. Those that went to the park usually went to a much better class one two blocks away. That day, though, someone had more than just "walked past." In fact two individuals were making a serious ruckus in this old, creaky park. They looked a lot alike, as well. Just one was a lot smaller than the other. "Okay, buddy, come on down!" Roch said, standing at the bottom of a massive twisty slide. "I'll catch you--" before he could even finish the reassurance, his son was careening down the slid, squealing his head off happily. He caught the boil as he came out the slide, swinging him in a circle just to keep the momentum going. Cisco let out a scream of laughter. "AGEEN!" he yelled, waving his fists in the air. "AGEEN!" "Again it is!" Roch said, hopping up the ladder to put the boil at the top and jumping down just in time to catch him at the bottom. Yes, he was slacking from his evening work--he didn't care. They had a MASSIVE SLIDE, BRO!

Today, Verusha decided to skip some of her classes. They were so boring, and it was the same thing over and over... she hated monotony. It was such a drag. So with her trusty familiar in tow, the ghoul headed off the school grounds to go find some fun elsewhere. Anywhere was far more fun than school!
She'd been heading into town, deciding to walk since she could use the fresh air, and the exercise, headphones rested over her ears that she hummed along to. She wanted to find a more secluded area, where not too many people were at, in no mood to get chastised or glared at by adults who knew she wasn't where she was supposed to be. So she decided to head to the abandoned park she sometimes visited to have some quiet and tranquility with her thoughts, and to admire the quality graffiti work left by fellow rebels.
However, as she got closer, Cannon perked up suddenly, growing highly alert and trotting further ahead of the ghoul to scout the area. Instantly he froze, staring at the broken down, abandoned park, eyes narrowing into a great expression of displeasure. Casually strolling up beside him, Verusha took a look for herself, surprised by the sight she saw. Roch? And... by the looks of it, Cisco, surely. Her head tipped faintly in a curious sort of manner, definitely not expecting this duo to be here. She watched for a little while, finding it kind of interesting and amusing to see someone like the boil entertaining the youngster. After a few moments of musing to herself, the ghoul headed on over, Cannon keeping firmly at her side, the flames on his body rising.
Pausing her mp3, she lowered her headphones to hug around her neck, as she called out to Roch, "Looks like you found the good park too."

Roch had little Cisco held up in the air like he was flying when she said that. He brought the giggling boil down, sitting him on his hip in an unconscious move as he turned to the other reaper. "We got distracted," he said shamelessly. "We were supposed to be doin' deliveries, but, well, there's a slide," he finishes. "Side!" Cisco agreed happily. "AGEEN!" "Not yet, buddy," Roch told him, reaching up and affectionately messing up his little mohawk. "Sup, Verusha, Cannon? I didn't expect to see you today." Idly he walked over to a backpack on a bench nearby, pulling a sippy cup out of a pocket and handing it to his kid as he waited for her reply. The little boil grabbed the handles, gulping it down happily. "You've met my kid yet? This is San Francisco Scythe--AKA Cisco." Cisco turned to look at Verusha, his drink still in his mouth.

"Deliveries, huh?" she asked, a bit curious as to what it was he had to indeed deliver. Looking up the grand slide, she had to nod in agreement smirking, "Yeah this is a nice slide. There aren't many to compete with it."
Attention shifting to the little boil who seemed quite chipper and excited with the area of play, she watched as Roch did the whole daddy thing, by taking care of the tykes needs. "Yeah, we were just.." she trailed off, trying to find a different way to cover up for the fact that she was skipping classes, "taking a walk. Cannon wanted to stretch his legs." she explained, the hound seeming unphased or bothered by the statement.
Raising a hand, she gave a wave to the little one, figuring he wouldn't understand the coolness of nods just yet, "Hey kid. Met him just for a second at practice that one day."

Cisco took his drink out of his mouth and grinned happily at her, waving back. Roch dropped down on the bench, putting his backpack on the ground and motioning for Verusha to sit down. The little boil was on his lap, looking quite comfortable there. It looked like they sat that way often. "Yeah," he said, looking at Cisco with a little, happy grin, "he's my lil' buddy. When I ain't workin', I'm usually with him--hell, half the time when I AM workin', I'm with him. Single dad an' all. I'm just lucky, though, that he's got a grandma here t'take care of him when I can't." "Mimi!" Cisco declared. "That's right, but Mimi's workin' right now, buddy boil, so you're with Deaddy," Roch told him. "So, how's it goin, Verusha? Skippin class?"

With the invitation made, the ghoul sauntered on over to join the duo with her familiar, who was a bit hesitant but stepped along at her side. Settling down beside the two, she found some amusement seeing the near identical look between father and son, even in hairstyle.
Cannon parked himself on the other side of Verusha, away from the two boils, eyeing the child somewhat wearily... clearly not sure how to feel about the thing. He'd never been around one before, so this was all new to him. While he knew the protocol in how to act towards them, he didn't appreciate that they cold be spontaneous. Verusha was already more than enough of that... "Hey, I think he appreciates it, though." the ghoul commented, smiling to the kid, "I'll bet it beats him not seeing you much at all." she glanced to Cisco as though he might agree... but of course he didn't know what the heck she was saying.
By what she'd heard, and seen, seemed like there was plenty of Scythe family to look after the small fry. Watching Cisco curiously, she blinked up at Roch when the question was asked, making her smirk, and look off slowly. A hand raised to comb through her bangs, "Guess I can't fool you, huh?" she mused, smoothing her remaining hair back only for it to fall back into place. Arms resting on the back of the bench, she gave an exhale of air, nodding slightly, "Yeah. Figured I wasn't going to be paying attention anyway, so didn't see the harm in it. 'sides. Cannon wanted to stretch his legs." one of her arms lowered to pet the smooth head of her canine, the flames slicking back and flickering back up once her hand passed over them.

Cisco put his cup down, his attention going to the dog she had brought with her. "Big woof woof!" he announced, his eyes going huge with excitement. "Oh no you don't," Roch said, grabbing the boil before he jumped off of his lap to go see the "big woof woof." "Cannon's not the friendly type like your woof woof," he told the boil, holding him firmly, but gently. "He might accidentally burn you--it'd be hot," Roch added seriously. "'ot," Cisco repeated. "Yep, hot. Y'done drinkin?" he asked, earning a nod. "Wanna slide again?" he asked, earning another nod. "What d'ya say, Verusha, you wanna slide with us?" he asked the ghoul, as if playing with little kids was the best sort of fun.

Cannon visibly tensed as the child turned his attention towards him, ears pinning back firmly to his sleek skull. Verusha couldn't help but laugh lightly at the clear contradicting reactions from both sides, letting her own hand lift to pet the dog herself, smoothing back his flames, "He only takes kindly to me, kid, sorry." she mused. Cannon hardly ever let his flames disperse, only going the lowest when he slept.
When invited to slide, she looked back at the large constructed piece of metal, giving it a once over, before pushing herself up and off the bench, "Sure why not." she agreed, pocketing her hands and starting her way on over, "Been awhile since I've played on one of these. Back home, I'd always dare the other kids to jump off the top of it.. who ever could land on their feet being the winner." she flashed a devious grin.

"I didn't spend much time on slides," Roch said, a bit blandly. Memories of his childhood were rushing through his mind, and in automatic response his hold on the little boil turned protective and his FEAR aura rose slightly. He realized it a second later, and forced himself to relax. "But Cisco will!" he said, grinning at the boil. He headed for the slide, putting the boil on top and heading for the bottom. "Course, y'porbably didn't plan on spending your hooky time playin' with an old guy an' his kid, huh?" he teased her as he caught Cisco. "Sorry bout that."

The change in tone was a curious one, making Verusha stare at Roch for a moment, before following along to the slide. Standing by it, she watched the two interact, grinning at how delighted Cisco seemed to be with the slide. Cannon could only roll his eyes. Kids found amusement in such trivial things...
Snickering lightly from Roch's apology, Verusha waved a hand, "Nah, I don't mind hanging out with old guys and their kids. At least, so long as they're cool like you guys, 'n all." she teased, climbing up the stairs of the slide to sit at the top herself. She made a gesture by patting her thighs for a place that Cisco could sit, "It's better than listening to a boring teacher talk about... something or other, in the same tone the entire time." she chuckled.

Roch plopped Cisco down on her lap, stepping back as the boil looked up at the ghoul curiously before giving her a huge grin. "AGEEN!" he said, bouncing on her lap to try and urge her to go! Roch stepped to the side of the bottom of the slide, waiting for them to come down, his hand on the slide's side. He had a strange look on his face, as if he were somewhere else. It would be gone by the time they came down. "This is the one I was getting instruments for, obviously," he said. "And then he went and summoned his drumsticks before even tryin' any of them." "AGEEN!"

Since he couldn't join Verusha up on the slide, obviously, Cannon made sure to keep as close to the side of it as he could. And near Roch, as well, just in case the boil got some funny ideas.... The hounds ears continued to pin back when the child would speak, just vaguely wincing from the shrill voice.
Chuckling, Verusha hugged her arms around the kid once he was settled on her lap, to keep him from falling off, before she scooted them closer to the smooth slide to follow down its slick surface. Reaching the bottom, she looked down at Cisco, tipping her head some to get a better look at his face, "A drummer, huh? seems you were pretty spot on when guessing what he would like." a hand lifted to tousle the babes tuft of hair.

"It was pretty obvious," Roch said, picking up the boil. "It's all about the music--Cisco has a thing for songs with a heavy beat, he has since I got him. I figured he'd be a bass guitarist, or a drummer. Hey, I really DO gotta make a few deliveries--y'two wanna come with us? You might find it interestin'. Well, as long as y'don't mention the fact you're still in school," he admitted, frowning. "I gotta pick up a few dozen packs of cigars, a couple boxes of booze, and a ton of new card decks," he explains. "That means a few seedy places--maybe you wouldn't find it interesting," he admits a bit belatedly. He was taking a KID into those sort of places?

That definitely made sense. Nodding along in understanding, the ghoul stood up once the kid was plucked up, smoothing her shorts down some from how they'd hiked up a bit from the slide, and combing a hand through her heavy bangs. The offer made her brows raise slightly, but a grin fell into place, "Yeah, course." after all, she'd snuck into a couple of clubs she wasn't the proper age for yet...
"Sounds better than sitting around doing nothing." she assured, glancing at Cannon, "besides, that's usually where all the interesting action happens, huh Canny?" the dog snorted, and rolled his eyes, clearly not at all pleased with this plan...

"Unnn! Unnn! No!" Cisco said, reaching over Roch's shoulder towards the slide as Roch headed for the wagon. "I know, kiddo, we'll come back soon, okay?" Roch said, patting his back and putting him in the wagon. "First off--at least half of the people we're runnin' into ain't got that high of an education--they didn't graduate from Amity, or anything, but they're still decent enough folk, as long as y'don't piss 'em off, that is. Gramps has friends in both the hoity parts an' the dives, so try not t'look surprised regardless of what we run into. Don't go wanderin' off, especially in the market--I might never find you again." He picked up the handle of the wagon, pulling it along behind him in a casual manner, only to stop as he sensed a tiny dollop of FEAR being summoned. Before they could blink, he had two little balls on the tips of the spiked drumsticks Cisco had just summoned. "He keeps doin' that," he says, shaking his head and grinning at her. "I think he likes t'make me jump." Cisco started giggling.
