Chaonis followed the plan he laid out with Lesath, taking to the woods outside the city to continue the search for Navi and the Negaverse General that stole her away from him. He was ready and willing to break some faces if anyone tried to get between him and his rescue effort, and was glad that he had someone along with him to help.
It would have made sense to go and find Camelot, tell him what they were doing, about the realization he made about their search, but he felt a sudden surge of hope and could not risk the time it would take to get back to him. Every moment now was vital: he had already lost too much time ******** around, in his estimation.
He felt like an idiot, and every injury that she had suffered would weigh heavily on him. He should have been faster, should have been smarter. He should never have let her get taken in the first place.
Moving as quickly as he could through the woods, he could not see too much, but after some time of searching he felt the pull of auras. Chaos auras, mingled together, and he moved toward them, yelling into the darkness for Lesath to follow him, though he was sure she felt the auras as well.
The cabin appeared in a small clearing ahead, and he focused on it, breaking into a run. That had to be it. That had to be them.
Inside the cabin, Merlinite was sitting with Navi, Painite out again, causing trouble elsewhere. He had done what he could for her today, tending to her injuries and helping soothe her pain as best he could, so he was sitting cross legged beside her, reading from a book. He was not sure if it made much of a difference, or if she was even awake and hearing him, but he could not think of much else to help her pass the time and maybe get her mind off the terrible things Painite made her suffer.
He was still of two minds. He had not been able to get past his fear and go to find Camelot or Chaonis, and lead them to her directly. He could not betray Painite so openly, but he was at least trying in small ways to help them... he even considered going out into the forest and teleporting from the city to the cabin, in spaces, hoping they might feel his aura and follow it out there.
It was not an option he had a chance to try, though, as he felt auras heading toward them. Not Painite, as she always teleported to the front door directly, and there was one distinctly White Moon aura approaching.
"s**t. They're here," he breathed, getting to his feet and dropping the book. This was the final test for him, he realized. What was he supposed to do?

Lesath had felt the auras and heard the shout for her at about the same moment. Finally. She had been growing more and more fearful that they would never find her. She had been so ready to just start looking and BAM. Navi would just be there…but…it had been taking so long and Chaonis seemed so worried and…
And she hoped beyond hope that Navi was still alive. Because if she wasn’t…heads were really going to roll. She had never felt particularly murderous before…but this b***h made her feel like she really wanted to just…
Smash her head in or something. It wasn’t an attractive feeling. She made her way over to Chaonis and stared at the cabin. “You think she’s in there? Oh lord I hope you’re right, Chaonis…There’s definitely someone in t here…I feel them. I’m going to ******** kill that Painite if I see her. I’m going to kill her so ******** dead.”
She swallowed and looked at the White Moon senshi next to her. “What’s the plan? Do we rush in? Should I just grab Navi and run for a mirror? I just want to get her safe…”

Not even Navi was sure if she'd been truly awake. Merlinite was reading to her in slow voice, but for the life of her she couldn't recall from what. The words hadn't sunk in, they'd just seemed to roll right off her, but the sound of his voice was at least mildly soothing, in a background noise wort of way.
She was laying on her side, arms still bound, 3 fingers on her right hand broken but set. Broken ribs, at least four, still made breathing a painful challenge, but she'd had a long time to grow numb to it by this point. She was breathing shallowly, eyes closed, listening to the sound of Merlinite reading and the crackling of her own breathing. Trying not to feel anything, not to acknowledge the the tickling of blood as it ran down her cheek, the sting of her lip where it split. bruises were everywhere, but they wouldn't be particularly dark around her abdomen, wrists, ankles. The latter two rubbed raw from the restraints alone.
The sound of the book falling as Merlinite climbed hastily to his feet was startling. It made her jump, suddenly aware, and the auras she thought she'd been imagining were bearing down on them, coming closer. One strong chaos, and oneOrder.
There was no thought to it, Navi screamed, her voice battered, broken and abused, but it carried all the same. "FIYERO!" She shrieked it, ignoring the pain in her lungs as they strained against broken ribs. She screamed until darkness started to eat her vision, agony and exhaustion, and when ehr hed fell back against the wood floor she was murmuring his name, over and over, like a desperate plea.

"I don't know where the closest mirror is going to be to here, that's your bag. I really doubt Painite's left one in there, she's not that dumb. We have to assume everything around here is a trap, and she knows we're coming."
Which was true, she did know, and she was expecting Merlinite to summon her the moment he felt them arrive. Of course, he did not do that. He should have already.
Lesath was going to have to get in line to kill Painite, of course, as Chaonis was sure he had first dibs. No one was going to stop him this time, and he wanted to make sure he saw it happen.
He heard the scream and his mind went blank. That voice was his Navi, his Elphaba, and it sounded terrible. He could feel the pain, the fear, in it, but it also filling him with a burning hope and terrible need to get to her as fast as possible. She was alive, absolutely and certainly alive. He was not too late, and whatever happened now, all he could do was focus on getting her out of there.
"I'M COMING NAVI!"
He charged forward, almost forgetting Lesath was with him, or that there might be traps waiting for them. A bear trap snapped behind him, one of Painite's favorite toys, but his senshi speed allowed him to just miss stepping in it. There were probably more hiding in the tall grass around the cabin.
Chaonis did not care, and did not encounter another one before he reached the door and not only kicked it in, but completely obliterated it into splinters with the force of his foot meeting it. He crashed into the cabin, looking around and spotting Merlinite standing over Navi. Chained, battered, bloody. Anger blinded him.
"Get the ******** away from her, you b*****d!" He did not need to know who this guy was to know he needed to be stopped and put out of the way. he would handle that, and clear the way for Lesath to get to Navi. She would have to do her best to free the senshi from the chains that held her, and of course, with all her injuries it might not be too easy.
Chaonis charged in, pulling his arm back and taking a swing for Merlinite, not holding back. The Captain did not have much time to react before he was flying across the floor, slamming into a wall because it was not exactly a large space. Chaonis followed after him, almost roaring in fury as he went.
"Wait, stop!" Merlinite tried to yelp, but another fist smashed into his face and stopped him.

Lesath heard the cry from inside the cottage, and blinked in surprise as Chaonis answered with a cry of his own…and kicked down the door, reducing it to splinters. Well damn. That was devotion if she had ever seen it. The Eternal made her way into the building and looked around, her eyes finding Navi as Chaonis began punching the other person in the room…some other nega or something. She was growing more and more glad that Chaonis wasn’t against her…he was an animal. There was no doubt about that.
The blonde hurried over to where the other Dark Mirror was chained up and began tugging at the chains with all of her might, hoping that her extended strength would allow them to break…so she could work on getting her friend out of there.
“Hey, love. I got worried…you didn’t call, and I met your boyfriend, he’s pretty charming, you were right about that.” Lesath wanted to keep the conversation light, or as light as she could…the last thing Navi needed right this moment was more stress…even though…well. This situation here was nothing but stress. “…We’re here to rescue you, so…don’t worry now.”
There was nothing that could go wrong now. Nothing. Navi was alive, and that had been Lesath’s biggest worry.

The sound of that painfully familiar voice calling back to her sent a wave of relief over her with enough force to make her dizzy. She could hear him coming, feel it in her bones as his aura closed in until it was right on top of them and the door was exploding inwards with frightening force. A split second to take it all end, and Navi should have realized what would happen before her prince was bearing down on Merlinite, assuming the worst. "Wait!" It came out a raspy croak, and she strained against the chains. She hasn't known who the chaos aura was until Lesath's voice announced her a second before the blonde came into view to kneel beside her. She wanted to cry in relief and in utter adoration for the two that had found her, but she couldn't, not yet. "Stop him," she pleaded eyes wide as her fellow DMC yanked on her chains. "He kept me alive. The captain kept me alive, he's a victim too." Another weak jerk against her bindings, straining to see what Chaonis was doing across the room. "He's been trying to help!" If it had been possible to break free Navi would have done it, but what ever Painite used, it was beyond the ginger's abilities. They needed the keys, and Merlinite knew where they were. "Please, Lesath, he's not the bad guy." Tears were on her cheeks, stinging the deep cut that angled down from the corner of her eye. A gift from the general. "He can help." Her voice was cracking horribly, and the more she struggled the worse she hurt, but they had to keep Chapnis from making a huge mistake. She understood his rage, God she did, but Merlinite didn't deserve that awful wrath.

Chaonis did not have it in him to ignore the cries of Navi, hearing her broken voice over the thundering of his heart in his chest and turning his head toward her, catching the gist of what she was trying to tell Lesath. He growled, not exactly in the mood to believe anyone in the Negaverse was worth a damn thing, and looked back at Merlinite. The Captain was crumpled on the floor, bleeding from his nose and lip, struggling to get his bearings and catch up with the rotation of the earth so he could stand.
"You let her go, s**t head," Chaonis said, grabbing Merlinite by the front of his shirt and helpfully hauling him to his feet, which wobbled on legs made of jelly as Merlinite tried to stand on his own. Chaonis shoved him back and he hit a wall, but at least it caught him and kept him upright.
"O-okay," Merlinite managed, fumbling as he moved to find a key in a drawer, hidden away. It took him a moment to procure it, and turned to show Chaonis what it was just in case the White Moon senshi thought he was trying to do something nefarious.
Chaonis scowled at him, and the Captain scurried over to Lesath and Navi, his eye swollen from a pretty heavy hit. Hands shaking, he offered the key to Lesath.
"H-here," he said. The second the key was out of his hand and in Lesath's, though, Chaonis lunged forward and grabbed onto Merlinite's collar, from the back, tugging him backwards and away from the two women and back to the wall he had gotten to know earlier. Chaonis held him there, though he was distracted from any further thoughts of violence when he felt a mighty Knight aura approaching. How did Camelot know to find them?
"Dad's coming," Chaonis said, to the Dark Mirror Senshi, both but mostly Navi. He wanted to go to her, but until he was sure there was no further danger, he could not risk it. If Merlinite made a move to summon Painite while Chaonis turned his back, then it would all be over.
Of course, he did not know that the General in question was already on her way home, after a pleasant time out causing trouble. She was even in a good mood, teleporting straight to the front door from some distance off to avoid her traps. She looked very surprised by the scene she found waiting for her, and the fact that the door was simply an empty, splintered hole.
"Now what's all this? Lovely little guests, however uninvited they might be." Her eyes flashed darkly, and she slowly stepped into the room, though there was no door left for her to close behind her.

Leasth took the key and at once began unlocking the restraints, starting with the ones at Navi’s wrists. She wasn’t really sure what Chaonis had meant when he said dad’s coming, and she gave the Eternal White Mooner quizzical look. What a strange thing to say. Why on earth would anyone want their parents involved with something like this? She knew for damn sure there was no way she’d want her mother and father to know about any part of this…not even a little bit. But hey. To each their own.
She had managed to unlock the wrist restraints and one of the ankles when she felt the other chaos aura come into the room and Lesath froze, looking up. She had no doubt in her mind that this was the one they were looking for…this was the real threat…Painite or something. To be honest…this didn’t look good at all for them…maybe though…if they all attacked together…and that Captain over there helped out…maybe they could defeat her without too many causalities…
Even with maybe having those odds…she hurried to unlatch the last ankle restraint. “Navi, I’m going to get you out of here okay? I’m not going to let her hurt you..not again…you’re going to be fine. This is all going to be fine…

Restrained for very nearly a week, it actually hurt as the pressure on her wrists was finally released. Navi winced, eyes closing tight as she held her breath and very very slowly brought her arms around again to rest them on the ground. It feel like her shoulders had set in the painful angle they'd been stuck in, and they protested now, as she leaned on folded arms and waited for the sharp ache to fade to something tolerable. Or at least marginally tolerable. At least Chanois had stopped trying to punch Merlinite through a wall. Things were calming down, to an extent. She released the breath she'd been holding and and seemed to relax against the floor as Lesath moved to her ankles, but this wasn't exactly calm, this was exhaustion. Pent up emotions finally spilling out as legitimate hope presented itself. She felt the aura too, as the royal knight headed towards them, and she looked up as Chaonis announced his father, the flicker of smething that might have been a smile touching her lips briefly. Safe. Two eternal senshis and a royal knight, that was enough to keep Painite away from her, enough to keep the ******** b***h from hurting anyone. Relief, again, but this time short lived. The lock on one ankle gave, and a third chaos aura appeared. It froze the blood in Navi's veins, made her cringe against the floor and now that her arms were free she could actually retreat, turning to press close to friend's side as Painite walked into the room. It was just like every other time the woman had walked into the room. Terror rose up, thick enough to choke on, and Navi had to fight to keep her breathing under control just so she wouldn't cause herself more pain. "No." Pale, trembling fingers closed into the sheer overlay of Lesath's fuku. "No no nonono."

Merlinite felt his own heart sink as Painite appeared in the doorway, looking at Chaonis desperately, whose grip tightened on the front of his uniform.
"I didn't call-" Merlinite tried to say, in his own defense, but Chaonis was not really paying much attention to anything other than the Negaverse General that appeared. He did, however, take the time to turn and punch Merlinite as hard as he could in the gut, making the already battered Captain gag and crumble to the floor as Chaonis turned his attention to Painite. "Oh, you made a lot of ******** mistakes, but none as bad as coming in here right now," he growled, approaching carefully. He kept his body position very deliberate, not wanting her to let her attention wander over to Navi and Lesath. He was trusting Lesath to get Navi somewhere safe until he could join them, though he had not yet said as many words.
He was almost irritated that Camelot was coming, to stop him from the fight he rightfully deserved to carry through now. His anger was getting the better of him, and all he could focus on was defeating Painite once and for all, and without interruptions this time.
Then he heard Navi's whimpering, and his attention was drawn to her. She looked so terrible, clinging to Lesath as she was. He heard her fear and the trauma that Painite had instilled, and knew there were more important things to do than let his need for revenge make the calls. He needed to get Navi as far away from Painite as possible. To do that, he would need help.
Help arrived in the form of one Royal Knight, who stopped a few feet from the house itself, spotting Painite in the doorway and feeling all the other auras inside the cabin.
"Your fight is at your back, Painite," he called, summoning his shield to him. He chose his words specifically, and Painite felt her blood boiling immediately because of it. His distraction tactic worked, at least, and she turned to face him, as if in a trance. She stepped outside, forgetting the others for now.
She was not expecting them all so soon, and had not really prepared a plan for so many faces at once. But she could make it work.
"Don't let them leave," Painite said to Merlinite, as she went outside to meet Camelot.
Merlinite was only just getting his breath back, and was not sure what she thought one Captain could do against three Eternals.
Chaonis moved to Navi and Lesath, offering to take Navi into his arms to carry her. His brain was still in a very focused and determined place, and if he let himself take in her appearance and weakness too much, he would break.
"We have to get out of here. Do you know any mirrors around here? I don't care where we go: we just need to get out of here as fast as we can, and get as far as we can."

Lesath shook her head. “I don’t know of any mirrors, but I’m sure there are some around here. There have to be. There literally just have to be some mirrors somewhere….” She let Chaonis take Navi, already planning on what she should do…something…there had to be a mirror nearby…they just had to make a run for it. Of course…Painite had told that Captain to watch them…so all she had to do was take care of that issue and they were home free. Home free was something she wanted to be more than anything. And home. Damn. She was going to take Navi to California with her if she had a chanace to. The girl needed a time to relax and recover and…just to be away from all of the mess in this shithole.
It had worked wonders for her after all.
Lesath held out a hand towards Merlinite and drew in a breath before uttering her attack. “Moth Swarm.” That should at least give them some cover from the captain and hopefully that knight or whatever he was would keep Painite busy.
“Come on, Chaonis. Let’s get the hell out of here, we’ll find a mirror and get us all to safety.”
She was halfway out the door as she spoke, running for her damn life.

It was both a massive relief and borderline agony as Chaonis scooped her up into his arms. The DMC sucked in a breath through clenched teeth, grabbing onto the front of his armor and tie tight enough that her knuckles were white and molten. Bit was him, it was her Fiyero, and he would keep her safe. Him Lesath both. The two people she shared the closest bonds with, that she trusted implicitly. There was very little she could add to the discussion on mirrors. If there was one in the cabin Navi had not seen it, but she had also not been allowed access to the majority of the rooms. Of course, knowing Painite, the general had made sure all possible escape routes had been eliminated. Even the one in the bathroom, insufficient for mirrorwalking, had been removed. Navi concentrated on keeping her breathing even as Chaonis got to his feet, on the scent of his skin and the feel of strong, familiar arms holding her. They'd get her out of here soon. She'd be safe soon. She just had to hold on for a little while longer. If she hadn't been fighting through panic, she'd have reminded Lesath not to hurt Merlinite, but the blonde had picked a none offensive means to take care of the captain, and later Navi would be grateful for it. Getting the hell out of there sounded like an amazing idea.

Chaonis was never going to let go of Navi now that he had her in his arms again, and he would be damned before he let her get into any more trouble. While he still wanted to stay there and beat the s**t out of Painite for all the pain she had caused, he also knew that lingering too long would keep Navi at risk. He needed to be there for her now, and hope Camelot would be able to actually take care of the evil b***h this time.
And if not, Chaonis would come back and do things his way.
"Alright, lead the way," he said to Lesath, as she launched a flurry of moths to give them some cover. Painite seemed to be focused on Camelot at the moment, but it was good to cover their bases. He took off running, despite telling Lesath to lead, escaping from the house without a second glance at Merlinite.
The Nega Captain did nothing to stop them, despite his orders.
The only thing on Chaonis' mind was running as far away from that hell hole as possible. They would find a mirror and be done with this whole thing in a heart beat. It was his only goal now, and he kept his focus on Navi as he ran, doing his best to keep her steady. Of course, it was impossible to keep her from all the jostling.
He had no idea what was about to happen, or the battle that was about to explode across this seemingly peaceful clearing.
