Okay whoever thought winter was a good idea, with the cold and the snow seriously needed injury that would result in death. Kepler was absolutely freezing tonight. She had ended up bringing a blanket with her because sitting around in this weather absolutely sucked. The senshi of words also didn’t have Yumi with her because the cat was even more miserable than she was right now. What with her meeting a Dark Mirror Senshi and being nice to them. Yumi was so mad at her and had reamed her about the dangers of talking to the Chaos side. She could have been recruited, or something.

Not that Kepler had any plans at all to change sides. She was quite content with the Order thank you very much. In a way the teenager wished Yumi would cut her a break. She was competent and had a lot of willpower. Sure she was a teenager, but that didn’t mean she was automatically… crazy. Certain individuals scared the living daylights out of her. Especially the manic ones in school.

Whatever. She pulled her blanket around her more as she sat on the lip of this building near the park, feet dangling with the blanket draped over her legs.

The cold wasn't such a pain on Sanidine, but he had the luxury of an outfit that covered nearly every inch of his skin. Plus, everyone seemed to move slower in the cold.

Well, except him, of course, which made hunting so much easier.

He was out, minding his own business (no, he was draining energy), when he first felt the senshi's aura. He approached without caution, because he was cocky enough not to care who he ran into, just as long as it ensured tonight wasn't going to be boring. He was enjoying the rooftops, taking his time to look for suitable targets, and then he saw her.
She didn't seem to notice him, even when he'd made it close enough to hear her mumble something to herself.

…Of course, while this would have been the perfect opportunity to just push her off the building and take care of one little senshi, that would have been a quick end to what could have been the highlight of his evening.

"I could warm you up," he said as he approached from behind. He sounded coy, and wore an incredibly smug expression, but he didn't seem hostile.

For now.

With her thoughts on the problems of typical American Teenagers, she was very distracted and didn’t feel the Negaverse energy near her. Well, maybe she needed Yumi more than she thought she did. One of her hands darted out from under the warmth of the blanket and pushed a hand through her bangs before a voice caught her attention and made her head snap up.

Lilac eyes focused hard on the man who was talking and in her hurried shuffle to not make herself more vulnerable, (IE scrambling to stand up and get into a defensive position) she managed to completely drop her blanket, watching it fall down the building and land on the filthy street below.

“Look what you made me do!” She was in dismay and just shuddered at the first wind that blew, causing hair and skirt and puffy shirt to ruffle and further expose her. “Ugh. I don’t… I don’t have the energy to deal with you..”

Sanidine's eyes followed the blanket and he shrugged; it didn't seem like any great loss. He regretted spending the time looking at the blanket when he could have instead been indulging in the sight of her.

"No?" he prompted, shamelessly observing the wind batter her outfit.

"That's too bad. And here I was, willing to take time out of my busy schedule to talk to you. Could have been you and that blanket toppling over the building side, just so you know. You left yourself pretty vulnerable. Must have been some pretty deep thoughts if you didn't even notice me coming up behind you. I wasn't exactly hiding it, you know."

He crossed his arms over his chest, faintest hint of a smirk dancing across his face. "You ought to pay more attention, Senshi. Imagine what I could have done if I'd been out for blood."

She was getting lectured by a Negaverse agent? What was the world coming to. She scrubbed a hand over her face before promptly hiding them both by crossing her arms and trapping her hands between her arms and sides.

While he was right, she wasn’t going to admit that. Instead she just raised her head and scoffed. He didn’t feel like he was any stronger than her. “Right. Because I’m so scared of you.” Her eyes trailed back to him and narrowed in, what she could only hope, was a stern way. She had lots of practice, what with her younger siblings and all. Looking him over from head to toe, Kepler had to admit she was pretty jealous of his outfit that covered way more skin than her own. He was probably a lot warmer than she was.

A shiver ran through her and she just sort of huddled again. “So what, you’re just going to stand here and look at me?” She had never met a Negaverse agent that didn’t just automatically attack. This was a world of firsts for her in the past week.

Sanidine had seen a lot of looks in his life, and hers was by far the sternest look he'd ever gotten. "I could," he admitted; he certainly wasn't minding the sight. "Or I could offer to keep you company while you go retrieve your blanket."

…Not that he could imagine she'd want it; even a dozen washes probably wouldn't get it clean after being on that ground.

"Or we could forgo out differences, you could let me warm you up, and maybe somewhere in-between we exchange names and get to know each other a bit. Up to you. I mean, the alternative is you freeze up here, but," he shrugged and flashed his most charming smile. "I'm sure neither of us want that."

“I’m quite certain I don’t know what you mean,” she sniffed, raising her head up a bit. Advances like that never went well with her because her mind didn’t automatically go into the gutter around men. Or women for that matter. She was clean of mind. “The blanket? The streets can have it. It’s not salvageable at this point in time.” Besides, maybe some homeless person would find it. It was a good blanket, just gross with the smell of the streets.

So he wanted a name exchange? If she was feeling hostile she might have objected or at least given her name in a speech or something, instead she just sort of shrugged. “Sailor Kepler… And I’m not going to go anywhere with you that’s not..” She was going to say behind a building, but that wouldn’t be right at all. “Public.” Yeah, that worked. Right? She shivered once more, teeth clattering before she just had to crouch down and hug her legs. So cold. Damn it.

“I hope you’re quite amused.” Because she was miserable. “I don’t understand you.”

The lieutenant blinked and stifled a laugh. "I am amused, Kepler. I was offering to alleviate some of your discomfort."

He sauntered over, taking great care to show that he wasn't armed or attempting to attack her, and crouched next to her. He did not hesitate nor half-a** the gesture when he wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close, figuring she could freeze up here or appreciate his body warmth.

"Sanidine," he introduced a second later. "What are you the senshi of, belligerence? Naivety? Nice hair?"

Normally Kepler wouldn’t like anyone touching her that she didn’t know. However, due to the extreme cold and the fact that he had gone through the lengths to show he wasn’t armed, she allowed it. Stiffly. There was still plenty of mistrust there and there would be no hesitation in slapping his hands if he made her uncomfortable.

Then he opened up with a bunch of lines and she rolled her eyes a little. That she understood. “..Words, if you’ve really got to know.” She wasn’t falling for those lines. They weren’t even that good. Despite being at an all girls school she had heard better lines.

“Sanidine. Isn’t.. that a type of crystal?”
PostPosted: Sat Feb 21, 2015 3:51 pm

"Words?" Sanidine clucked his tongue, as if debating whether or not to tell her that he thought that must be a terribly bland sphere, but then—words had a power even without belonging to some magical senshi. "I wouldn't have guessed. Sanidine though, yes. Pretty looking rock, all things considered."

Without thinking much, he reached to his neck and pulled at the necklace he wore; it was difficult to remove with only one hand, and though he didn't care about breaking it he figured it best not to damage it if he could help it. When it was off, he held it out for the girl to examine. "Shiny thing. Looks better when it's got light to glisten off of. The way I understand, the Negaverse mostly names its agents after rocks. Minerals, gems, whatever."

He was a bartender, not a geologist. He was lucky he even knew what Sanidine was. (Thanks, Google, and a sleepless, alcohol and boredom induced night).

"And your name comes from something in space, yeah? You ever been?"

She slowly let a hand reach out to catch the crystal and turned it this way and that before humming slowly. It was pretty, but all in all she liked her space related name. Then his egotistical comments made her eyes roll even harder. Right. Of course they would be named pretty things.

“Kepler-22b, is the full title.” Her voice was agreeable and she nodded her head a bit. “It’s not a planet you and I are used to thinking about. It does not orbit a sun. It’s something cold an exoplanet. Exoplanets orbit stars, stellar remnants or brown dwarfs.” She could prattle on and on about space and planets because honestly? She loved space. There was a reason she stargazed for entertainment. She let the crystal go in order to rest her chin on her knees and just took a breath, watching the swirls before her.

Wait. Why was she having a discussion with a Negaverse agent? Well.. he hadn’t tried to attack her. It was sort of interesting. She just wouldn’t tell anyone on her side about this encounter.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 21, 2015 3:52 pm

"Exoplanet," he repeated thoughtfully. "Neat. Do you know so much about it because it's your planet or because you like space things?"

He wasn't sure why he was asking, or if this constituted as small talk or gathering information, but a part of him was genuinely curious. He liked Earth and didn't particularly care about other planets, exo or otherwise; he didn't even want to do anything in space…unless someone wanted to teleport him to a planet made of gold and give him a free pass to take whatever he wanted.

But, even given everything he knew to be true in this strange war, he doubted that was going to happen.

His eyes remained on the necklace she held; it wasn't a feminine piece by any means, but it still didn't scream 'me' to him. None of this did, really, but what the hell did he care? Where else was he going to get an opportunity like this?

“I just really like space. I knew about Kepler before… this..” She probably shouldn’t be talking about civilian likes and dislikes, but she didn’t say her name, so it was fine…? Maybe? Kepler just quieted down a bit and huddled closer to herself and just pressed her cheek to her knees. At least he wasn’t touching her wrongly. She would seriously smack him and probably start a fight otherwise. With thoughts like that, she pushed bangs away from her nose when the wind forced it there, rubbing lightly, knowing it was going to go completely red when she was in a warmer area. If it wasn’t already. She was probably like a lobster in color from cold plus being wind whipped.

Kepler’s curiosity was starting to get the better of her and she wanted to ask if all Negaofficers got a necklace of whatever they were named after. Slowly she just let it go and hummed softly. “...So. Is this awkward to you? Not fighting a senshi for once?”

Assuming he actually had fought senshi before. She didn’t know how ‘new’ he was to this war.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 21, 2015 3:53 pm

"Awkward? No. Contrary to whatever they're teaching you at senshi school, it's not all about fighting. I like it, though. So I admit, I was a bit excited at the thought of a good brawl. But," he shrugged. "Things didn't work out like that. No big deal. I mean, I guess I should? What with you all being freaky space terrorists. Or whatever they're calling you these days."

He shrugged and moved his arm a bit, rubbing. It wasn't anything shady, just the same action one might do when trying to heat themselves up. "Doesn't it bother you that you're getting your power from some planet across the universe? …Doesn't it bother you that you have somewhere else to be, and instead you're here, on Earth?"

Space terrorists? Her jaw worked at that and she stiffened. They were not terrorists. Ugh. He was completely clueless. They were saving this planet, and if anything Negaverse were the terrorists. Whatever. She just looked to the side and remained quiet as she thought father on who was in the wrong in this war. It was a fickle, tricky business, really.

Did it.. “Why would it bother me? Everything is connected. We’re all made out of ‘star stuff’ so to speak. You, me, Kepler, the moon, even the newest stars… It’s just further away. ...I could go visit Kepler if I wanted to.” And she honestly did think about it, what it was like there, but space travel was just something that still sounded like it would literally never work despite having gone to the moon once already. Besides, it was probably cold on Kepler considering there was no sun it orbited. “...If I were supposed to be on Kepler, I believe I would have woken up there or been born there. Something like that.” She waved her hand dismissively. She was needed on Earth to try to tip the balance in the Order’s favor.
