If Remarque was to be grateful for anything tonight, it ought to have been that it wasn't as cold as he'd expected. After a certain hour, he couldn't help but trail outside; with his fiancé busy tonight, he couldn't help but meander into the night. Tonight just didn't feel like a movie night, or a cuddle up with the dog night, or spend a vast amount of time with his new—temporary? Permanent? —roommate.
Tonight was just a good night to power up, work out some energy, and see what the world was up to.
At first, Remarque wasn't certain anyone would even be out; winter was, by far, his least favorite time of year and it was almost painful to him to be out in this cold. He might even had retired early, if only he could have picked out something to do to occupy his night.
Boredom did nothing to ease the cold, and it felt like all he was doing was making himself miserable—until the flicker of an Order signature appeared on his radar. He couldn't have been more grateful for that if said Order signature had handed themselves over to the DMC for corruption on the spot, and Remarque wasn't going to pass up the opportunity.
His pace increased and he wove between the trees to beeline towards his target.
When she came into view, he seemed even more pleased. "Serpentarius," he greeted, quite friendly. He was grateful his voice did not betray the cold he felt, and it was difficult for him to stave the urge to let his teeth chatter. "I find it hard to believe you couldn't find something better to do than be out in the cold on a night like this. What are you up to?"

Serpentarius had only been out for a short time that evening, patrolling as she didn't have anything else to do. Her boyfriend was at work, her cousins were all busy, and she just didn't want to work on school. Though she did start to regret it once the temperature started dropping on her. Arms around her bare waist, she was about to just head back to her dorm when she heard her name.
She knew that voice, and she couldn't help but smile.
Turning her head, she smile grows as she closes the distance a bit between her and Remarque. It been awhile since she seen him, not that it matter "Its good to see you again Remarque.." she trembles only for a moment before she pauses at his question. Chewing on her lip, she looks away "Actually I just came back from England at the start of the new years...been gone..." she pauses as she shrug "Helping my father sell the house..." she didn't go into detail as she gives him a sad smile "Past year been pretty rough, but I am glad to be back. How are you? I do hope life been treating you well."

He debated how to answer that for a minute, nodded his head left and then right, and then just shrugged. "Life's been all right. I suppose I shouldn't complain too much. Ups and downs, but. It is what it is."
He might have said more, but eying that sad smile of hers made him wonder what life had thrown at her recently. "You look like you've seen your fair share of hardships since last we parted. You holding up all right, anything I can do?"
Because, corruption was guaranteed to make most things okay...
...Not that he could really just come out and pitch such a thing. Timing was everything, and if she was coming out of hard times, he wasn't going to push her. Besides, wasn't it enough to just know that she was alive enough to still be powering up? He'd gotten worried that something had happened after not seeing her for so long.
Of course, her being in England was a welcome explanation; he could hope that her time away hadn't changed her opinion on things back here in Destiny City--in this war--too much.

Serpentarius couldn't help but gibe Remarque a weak chuckle as he asked her how she was holding up "Not unless you know how to bring my mother back from the dead..." she looks down as she breathes in slowly. Looking back up at him, she shakes her head "Don't worry about it okay...honestly I'll be okay. I'm finally back home, and now just trying to sort my life..." she meant those words.
She no longer saw England as her home, as nothing was left there for her.
The home she grew up in had been sold off by her father.
Looking away, she glance around out of habit before turning her gaze back to Remarque "Up to walking with me? Unless your done for the evening." she didn't want to stop him from heading home.
She just hated patrolling now, as she thought too much when she did.

Remarque watched her closely; his brows knit when she spoke.
He didn't know how to raise the dead, but if he did, he was certain the world would be a much better place.
"I'm always up for a walk with you, Serpentarius." He gestured to let her lead, and was quiet for a moment before he added, "I'm sorry to hear about your loss. If there's anything I can do…I do sincerely mean it. Let me know."
He didn't have the best imagination, but he knew how important his own mother was to him. While Serpentarius' home life was a mystery to him, she was not the sort he would have wished any sort of ill will on her.
There was a part of him that wanted to ask, very badly, how it had happened, but besides manners preventing him, he wasn't sure if he really wanted to know. She couldn’t have been much different in age to him, and he couldn’t imagine losing his mother now. Be it because of this war, natural causes, or anything else life could throw at them…
He clenched his jaw and slid his hands into his pocket as he moved to walk next to her.

Serpentarius looks at Remarque then gives him a small smile "Thank you, I may actually take you up on that offer soon...." she didn't explain what she meant by it, she just wanted to let him know she would probably be seeking him out.
Walking ahead of him only for a moment, she slows her steps so they were walking side by side. Lifting her hand, she rubs the back of her neck just to brush over the crescent moon brand. After a moment, she sighs "I think I have finally decided I need to live for myself...." she looks up at him "The last we talked, you asked me if keeping a promise was worth being sad...The answer is no." she looks away again "The person I made that promise to, wouldn't have wanted me upset and feeling like I am trapped. And while I have those I want to protect on this side...both senshi and civilian...I can't go on living a lie..." she shakes her head before she stops talking
She was rambling, something she found she did alot lately "Sorry...I swear I can talk your head off if you allow me to."

Remarque laughed; it was a light, gentle laugh, and not the least bit mocking. "No, you're fine. I like listening." He liked learning more about her. She seemed to be coming to her senses, and he wasn't going to intrude with his own rambling; Serpentarius needed to talk.
He wondered if she'd had anyone around that she could talk to, or if she'd just been carrying this around with her, keeping it locked inside for...who knew how long?
"I think it's very wise of you to have come to that conclusion, though. That it's not worth living like that if it makes you miserable. There are other ways to fulfill your promise if it means so much to you, you know. You can still protect them, you know. No matter what side you're own. Being with the Dark Mirror Court gives you the advantage of remembering the people who were important to you. You remember who meant something to you, who you want to protect and look after."
He shrugged, glancing up at the sky for a second as they walked. "I have friends on all sides. People I'd look after regardless of who they're fighting for. But you can worry about them after you worry about yourself. You need to be happy first and foremost, or else...nothing else is going to matter."

Serpentarius nods as she listens to his words, rather glad that he didn't find her rambling a nuisance. In truth, she was keeping alot bottled up, as there was only so much she could tell Boaz without breaking down into tears on him. Her life seem to be falling apart, and she was so scared of losing anyone else "I thought losing my baby brother was hard...and I knew the last time I saw him would be my last. So I made a promise to him I would be his super hero. I even went as far as to power up in front of him. He passed that next day...then losing my mother...." she stops as she blinks back tears.
"Losing my mom, I wasn't there. And all I kept thinking is...what is the point of having these powers...if I can't even protect those I ******** love." she thought about when Boaz got hurt, and how she couldn't protect him "The only time I have ever felt like this whole war and being a senshi meant anything was when I was in the Blood Moon Court..." she stops as she takes in a deep breath "Now...it means nothing to me...being an order senshi. I don't believe in the moon princess, and those I care about on this side...I know will be furious with me, but I..." she couldn't say she didn't care, because she did.
"I just...know that I don't belong with the white moon court anymore. My beliefs are still with my old court, and I would sooner take out someone on this side for harming someone I care for..." she motions with her hand towards Remarque for example "I'm to the point its either corrupt, ask you to throw me threw a mirror...or never power again." she stops walking as she looks up at the sky.

In that moment, he was caught debating whether or not he would rather know someone was dying or have it be sudden and unprepared. On one hand, you have time to say goodbye to them, but you have to watch them wither and waste away--to suffer. On the other hand, there is no goodbye, no building up to the end. Just sudden emptiness.
He was sorely unprepared for either, but Serpentarius must have been a strong girl to go through both of them. He watched her closely, his eyes locked on her wet ones. He did not interrupt, just listened quietly.
"I don't believe in the Moon Princess, either," he said, reaching out a reassuring arm to rest atop her shoulder. "...I think if she existed, she would have tried to help. She would have intervened, or done something other than hide in the background and have others fight her battles. So ultimately, that's the better option, when you consider that alternatively...there's a woman up there, who created all this turmoil, and she doesn't care enough to clean up her own mess. Either way, I don't think the White Moon is all it's cracked up to be. Maybe, before my time, it meant something. But you have a gift, Serpentarius."
He moved so he was standing in front of her, and planted both hands atop her shoulders as he spoke. "And they have turned it into a curse. If you stop powering up, it's just going to get worse. All of this will get out of control, and the people left who you still care for? They'll get hurt. If you have White Moon friends who would resent you for having a change of heart--forget them. Maybe, after all of this, they'll see that you're happier with us. That being in the Dark Mirror Court is a different side of all of this. It's a breath of fresh air, and a whole world of new opportunities. We owe no allegiance to some Moon Queen,," he spat out the word, "Who would abandon us. We make our own Destiny, and there's a whole universe out there, waiting for us. And," he took a moment, eyes still locked on hers, "I would be honored to have you with us. You Mirror is yours, whenever you need it."

Lifting both her hands, Serpentarius quickly wipes at her face before she gives him a weak smile "You know if I could, I just hug you then buy you dinner." she chuckles as she breaths to calm herself down "Thank you...Remarque...really. You have been such a breath of fresh air since we met, and each time I talk to you, I find your right." she place her hands on his as she squeezes them "I don't belong on this side, and if I had my choice..I wish to join your court." she pauses she as she chews on her lip "Are you able to travel in space? I have been meaning to see my world for some time....." she pauses as she chuckles.
"And company of the friend kind would be great..if you could join me." she wasn't honestly sure, as traveling to other worlds was a new thing for her.
Though she wanted to do it very soon.
And if she wasn't able to take her cousin, then she would take Remarque.Kyuseisha no Hikari I am so sorry hun, my laptop tried to die on me. Then we had a problem with flooding in the house. Its just been a bad month. OTL

Remarque turned his hands so he could squeeze hers back. "It would be an honor to accompany you," he said; he needed little time to consider the offer. Serpentarius had been nothing but genuine with him, and he wasn't going to bother hiding his feelings on the matter with her.
He wanted to go into space. And if she wanted company, he was more than happy to oblige. "Whenever you want to go, I'll be there for you."
And if she was going to join the Dark Mirror Court, that offer was permanent.
