For once, she didn’t feel lazy, or tired. Or to against her job. Tonight she was out and about looking for trouble, looking for a fight. Someone she could try to beat or even someone just to practice with. As long as she could manage to master her magic in the middle of the fight, she assumed she would be stronger.
She was lucky enough to stumble on someone sooner then she thought and by his attire, a knight.
“Hey you Handsome!” She waved, “Can you battle with me for a second? I need to test something on you darling.”

It wasn't every night someone hollered in his direction with the word "handsome" and "battle" in the same sentence. Actually, this would mark the very first instance, and in the back of his mind the Uranus Squire couldn't help but wonder if there was a chance anyone else might call to him in a similar fashion in the future.
Danika didn't count, of course.
With a small smile and a cursory nod out of habit, Ashur regarded the senshi headed in his direction. "Uh, I guess?" he replied as he brought his staff up to rest against his shoulder. He took a second to look her over, wondering what her sphere might be and what could have caused her to strike up a sparring match with some random person--he could've been a Negaverse agent and he wondered if she would have said the same thing just for a fight.
"Name's Ashur, by the way. There's a park somewhere over there, if you wanted to spar. Can't say anything about the youma in the area, but we shouldn't draw too much attention anyway."

Methone grinned at the man, and paid close attention to the staff he carried around. Ever since Luxor, the northern light senshi had been interested in the knights and their weapons.
“That...doesn’t hurt as much does it?” She laughed, “Like...You aren’t gonna clobber me are you?” Her smile widened more. “I’d love a walk in the park followed by a little physical activity handsome! Please, you don’t have to twist my arm!” She laughed as she headed off that way. “I’m Methone, Senshi of Northern lights. Or Aurora Borealis if you wanna get technical. It’s almost weird to be a senshi of something magical based of like….Lights.”

Again he nodded his head, this time with regard for her name. "Methone...that's a pretty cool name for a pretty cool sphere." The young man smiled and shook his head then, nudging the staff off of his shoulder and spinning it some, more for her benefit. "If I practiced a little more I probably could do some damage with this thing," he admitted, then replaced the staff before turning to walk toward the park.
"As it is, though, I don't have too much of an advantage in the field, so you don't really need to worry."
He led her down a block and made a few turns before they came to a small-ish clearing that was conveniently surrounded by a good clump of trees. At least well enough that they were out of sight. Without much pause, as he figured there probably wasn't need for too much formality--she had started the whole impromptu meet by calling him "handsome"--Ashur stood a few feet away and started stretching a bit.
"Before we start, care to tell me if you had a goal in mind for this sparring match?"

“Oh, looks like this might be beneficial for the both of us then.” Methone followed after him, enjoying the view for what it was worth. Knight has interesting attire, even more so then hers. Regardless of that, she was paying attention to what he was saying.
“Also good to know Darling, I’ve heard knights use their weapons more for channeling magic…” She paused and waved her hand, “I met a pluto knight, what’s your dig? You’re kind of like...arabian looking and such.”
The park opened up in a convenient roundabout sort of way that made it a perfect setting for her. And luckily it was dark enough for her magic to do some sort of good here.
She walked directly across him, blew him a kiss and tapped her tiara. “It’s to see the limits of my magic really. And how well I can use it in battle.” She paused again, “The endgame is to see how much energy it takes for me to do it under stress.” She put her hands up and took a deep breath. “Stress me out darling.”

It was good to see that she was at least a little familiar with how Knights work. He'd actually only recently learned about how his faction worked, so to see someone else actually know that kind of stuff was a bit of a relief. Maybe she could help him out if he had any troubles in the middle of this.
He spun his staff around a little, more in a practicing manner, when her question came up. "Ah, yeah. I'm a Uranus knight. We, uh, we get a lot of desert." A joke, and one he chuckled at even though he'd made it himself. "But thank you for not telling me I look like a Jedi rip-off."
With that he stayed his weapon and listened carefully, his face a little scrunched up as he processed what she was saying. "Alright, seems easy enough," he nodded. "Here I come!" And what better way to stress someone than to surprise them? In just a few strides he closed the gap between them, then swung his staff in a sweeping motion aimed at her legs

Methone grinned at him and then clapped her hands together, “Oh my god, you do look like a jedi!” She laughed, “I was trying to put it together because it also reminded me of the planet that Luke and Anakin come from, but I can’t remember it!” She laughed again, up until she was, pardon the pun, swept off her feet.
She hit the grassy ground hard, and winced as she felt her bottom take the brunt of the force. She would feel that later for sure.
“Okay! That was good Mister Ashur, Too good!” She laughed again, but spun on her place on the ground and used it to launch herself at the knight. her arms held out much like a football player would. Her goal? Tackling him so he couldn’t use that staff again!

He didn't see the tackle coming and grunted when he felt her knock him back, his staff mercifully still in hand. Not that he had any use of it in such close range. He tried to wriggle away, but football had not been kind to him when he was younger, and even all the wrestling matches with Danika continued to prove a fair challenge every single time.
Ashur moved his arms this way and that, trying to get out of her grip without much luck. "Alright, alright. Wait.." he started to say, discomfort evident in his voice. "In a real fight I wouldn't care about using my elbows to get out of this, but…" and he wriggled some more, his staff finally falling to the ground due to the effort.

Methone laughed and rolled off the minute she felt the elbow pushing her away. Even more so, when his voice had a hint of uncomfortableness. Because he had been kind enough to spar with her, she supposed she could be kind enough not to tease the poor knight anymore.
The minute she was away was enough to lay her fingers on her senshi tiara.
“Sorry handsome, this is what I wanted to see if I could do.” She tapped the tiara, held up her hand and summoned her magic within. “Aurora Borealis Flare!*” The light happened, much like a flash, and she closed her eyes so she wouldn’t be dazzled by it.
She could only imagine what Ashur would be seeing soon though.

As soon as she rolled away Ashur righted himself, dusting off whatever grass and dirt had stuck to him and reclaiming his staff. He didn't expect for her to use her power right then, though, so when she called out his eyes went straight to whatever she was pointing at in the sky.
All he saw was a beautiful flash of blue-green for all of two seconds before everything went white, like someone had just flashed one of those bright LED bulbs straight into his eyes. He dropped his staff again, and his hands went to his eyes as he shut them tight. All he could think while standing there, slightly hunched over and clutching his face, was how he would probably be completely screwed had this been a real fight.

Methone opened her eyes when the right amount of time had passed, and stared up at the lingering remnants of her magic. The blue and green that decorated the park and danced along the sky like the northern lights would.
And then her eyes dropped to Ashur who was clutching his face and immediately rushing to his side.
“Was that bad? Was that really bad?” She took his hands, “Let me see, I hope I didn’t blind you permanently. I didn’t think it was that strong, I am so sorry.” She should’ve gave him sunglasses...anything.

He nodded dumbly at her questions, then slowly let his face go so she could take a look. There was never really telling when it came to the kind of magic senshi could do. The same could be said for his own faction, though from his own experience their powers seemed far less offensive. Were they in an RPG, knight magic seemed to more geared toward support magic.
"I.. think I'm alright, just...it's all white right now," he said slowly, trying to open his eyes. He really could only see white at first, but that had lessened to spots within a matter of seconds. A bit longer and he could make out her face, finally, and he blinked. "Okay, it's… I think it's wearing off now... sort of?"

“Ah let me see, how many fingers here hun?” Methone held up three fingers, waited for him to respond, and then sighed in relief. “That was a little more scarier then I anticipated, But...give me your best esitmate. Would I kick a** in battle with it?”

The spots faded significantly by the time she held her fingers up, though he squinted and blinked several times before shaking his head. "I see...I think three, but I'm not sure…"
With a groan he rubbed at his eyes, as if it would fix his problem, and blinked and shook his head some more. Her question got a nod out of him, though, once the spots seemed to finally fade away.
"Given the fact that you can blind people, then yeah. I'd say you can kick a fair amount of a** if you know how to fight. Or at least kick someone in the shins."

“Okay.” Methone sat patted his back a little, “You aren’t blind, so that’s good Handsome.” She laughed a little more, enjoying the moment a little more then she should. But his reaction was good enough for her, and his word even better.
“That’s good, That’s great really. It wasn’t as hard as I thought to summon the magic in the middle of it as I thought.” She rubbed her chin. “I think I’m good for now Handsome, thanks for the help.” She paused another moment.
“Want me to help you home?” She winked at him, making grabby motions with her hands.
Quote:
"Anytime," he said with a small grin, though he held his hand up to refuse her offer. "I'm alright, I think. I wasn't gonna head home yet, anyway. Might wander around, knock some youma heads together. Do some good, y'know."
By then the spots had completely gone and he found he could see perfectly fine, which gave him a great deal of relief. After replacing his staff where it usually went on his back, he pointed in a random direction. "We can do some test runs with that magic on youma, if you're up for it? If not test runs, I wouldn't mind the company either way. Youma tail-kicking is fun!" And for him, a great past-time and way to relieve some stress, but she didn't need to know that much.

Methone blinked and then nodded. “Sure I’d love that, beats going home and sleeping it off.” She tilted her head up, “Well at least you know what to look out for when I use it! Plus you can tell me more about this knight hood stuff. How many youma’s have you beaten?” She held out her hand to pull him up.
Poor Ashur’s night would be filled with youma tail-kicking, 1000 questions and a little light show where ever they went. All in all, a good night right?
