The Divisions Of Teachings
The Vamraaks accepts all to it's bountiful knowledge, though clashing ideals may result in conflict.
That is why there are different Divisions of Teachings that will allow specialization to specific adventurers who wish to learn alongside those of fellow interest.
Click the spoiler below to see all the areas we cover.
The Vigilant
Those who partake in all things chivalrous and knightly are welcome here. Swordsmanship and affinity to a good suit of armor a notable characteristics of this Division.
From swords to lances, the vigilant are the heavily armored protectors of the Archives, learning the ancient Aegis Forms from our ancestors and slowly gaining power through study and on-field training. The Vigilant are always at the front line, with their shields and blades, lances, spears, or whatever weaponry they take a liking to, tearing apart our foes as if they were pieces of freshly baked bread. Freshly baked screaming pieces of bread.
The Rogue
Just because we fight the forces of darkness, does not mean we may not fight from the shadows. Those who are cunning and wise, and quick on their feet are welcome to this Division. Acts of stealth and roguery and encouraged. (Though theft will be enforced by Archivist Law)
Rogues undergo information gathering and sabotage related missions for the Archives. Sometimes us Archivist have to get our hands dirty in order to gain the upper hand in our constant quest to protect this world. Rogues may use a combination of agile melee and blade related techniques, or even dabble in a bit of magic to stun their opponents or charm their victims. Rogues are the heroes in the shadows, that protect the innocent and lay down justice on the guilty. Literally defeating the thief, by becoming the thief.
The Marksmen
From the skies your arrows shall fly, or through flesh your bullets shall dart, this Division is for those with an affinity to the ranged weaponry. Musketry, Archery, and all sorts even Artillery fall under this category.
Marksmen aren't trained to be up-close and personal, in which they'd rather see their enemies plopping to the ground off in the horizon. The Marksmen incorporate Archers, Crossbowmen, Cannoneers, Musketeers, Riflemen, Snipers, and hell even the Gunlance. Marksmen lay down the fire from the back rows, while the tank-like Vigilant Division tear up the front lines. Marksmen also pair up with Rogues on stealth missions, acting from the shadows as death itself, putting an end to the lives of the unsuspecting target that happens to be interfering with the activities of the Rogue.
The Arcane
If you are the one with a bit of magic coursing through your veins, then this Division beckons for your presence. Teachings of Alchemy, Spell-craft , and all sorts of wizardly magical things. Note that all Arcane Classrooms are reinforced with heavy Mythril Plating, explosions tolerated.
Magic, a formidable, versatile, and extremely lethal form of combat. Spells and Enchantment possibilities are limitless, and this is why this Division is so rapidly growing, as studies are conducted using the knowledge of the past civilization to increase present day understanding of magic. Alchemy, the creation of potions is almost vital to all the branches, while Warding, is vital to the over all Sanction of the Vamraak Empire, as they're protected by a massive magical ward that shields us from evil.
The Technical
Those who take no affinity to magic, and rather machinery, this is where you belong. Machinery is a beautiful thing, from manufacturing mechanical sentries to building Air Ships, The Technical Division is an extremely important one.
Air Ships are the primary form of transportation to and from the Vamraak, and with the Technical Division, supply transport would be nearly impossible. The Technical Division manufactures innovations in machinery, just as the Arcane division manufactures innovation in the field of magic. Technicals also research innovations in Metallurgy and Alloys, working alongside the Forge Division to make state-of-the-art armors and weapons.
The Merchant
If coin is needed in your pocket, then the Merchant division will be suitable for you. Learn the arts of haggling and bargaining in order to get the most for your money. Those in this division also study Travel and Navigation.
The Archive is not only a studious institution for training the protectors of tomorrow, but is also a major hub in Atherian Trade, which makes learning Merchantry an important part of society. Merchants also pair up with Technicals, since Merchants have a vast knowledge of distant lands and Navigation. Merchants are what bring the bountiful income, and also bring in exquisite goods from far away lands in order to improve research here at The Vamraak Empire.
The Forge
Blacksmiths, Lumberjacks, Miners, Steel Workers and more. Heavy Labor your fancy? Well this division, filled with strong and hearty individuals, would love to have you join. Sweat and Dirt are a couple of the many benefits of this Division.
Just because this division is primarily labor and minimal study, that does not mean there is little innovation or importance to the Archive. In fact, without The Forge, there would be a severe lack of supplies in order to create Armor, Airships, or any form of useful goods. The Forge is also responsible for creating all weaponry in the Archive, and having a bit of creativity goes a long way, as to when the Forge pairs up with the Arcane, you end up with heavily enchanted weaponry that could lay an army to rest in a fowl swoop.
