Some time after dinner, Finn would hear a couple quiet knocks on his door.

Like a kitten scratching to be let inside, Oliver waited on the other side with a couple heavy books in his arms, topped with a large bag of Doritos and a couple cans of Coke. He had just gotten out of the lab for the day and was craving some mindless zombie killing more than dinner and sleep combined. Until he got his own game system this was as close as he ever came to seeking out social activities.

He wasn't sure Finn would be in, but it was worth the trip up the stairs just to check… Shifting the heavy load in his arms once more he gave another little knock.

Finn was indeed in, and while the quiet knocks on the other side of his door were heard, it was only just barely. Setting his xbox one controller down on his bed after hitting pause, he swung his legs over the edge of his bed, while taking a drag from a cigarette that was dangling from his lips. Crossing the room to the door, he pulled it open, not at all surprised to see the person on the other side.

He left the door open and turned and went back to his bed. Pretty much as good of an invitation to come in as Oliver was going to get at the moment. Sitting back down and picking up his controller again, the tv screen flared back to life with the sound of zombie moans and growls, shooting guns and intense swells of music.

"What'd you bring me?" He finally called out from around his cigarette, taking a moment briefly to remove it from his lips to ash it out in a bottle nearby, before sticking it back again.

Oliver wrinkled his nose as the smell of cigarette smoke wafted out of the opened door, but only on instinct. He was quite happy to enter anyway, nudging the door closed behind him, and making himself comfortable on the floor in front of the bed. The thud from falling to his butt was made louder by the heavy books he still carried.

When these were set to one side, Oliver passed one can of Coke up. "Pop?" He also planned to share the Doritos, but he hadn't had dinner yet and wasn't going to risk Finn confiscating them entirely. The kid's eyes were glued to the screen the whole time.

He suddenly remembered he still had some candy safely stashed away in his coat he could offer up as sacrifice to the video game god. He held up his other hand with a small number of valentines-themed Hershey Kisses. Pop and chocolate, fine appetizers for his junk food dinner.

If Finn noticed Oliver wrinkling his nose, he didn't have anything to say about it, just taking more long drags off of his cigarette until it was ready to be butted out in an ashtray sitting on a night stand next to his bed. Once Oliver was settled, he hit pause on the game and waited to see what the other man had brought for him. The pop was accepted as he leaned towards the end of the bed that the intermediate was sitting against, snatching it up out of his hand. The video game controller hovered in the air above Oliver's head like Finn might drop it into his lap at any second, when suddenly candies were also thrust at him.

Not just any candies. Kisses.

Finn's lips curled up into a smirk. "Ah, just what I always wanted from you." He finally dropped the controller in the younger mans lap before snatching the tinfoil wrapped chocolates out of his hand. "Not really the way I envisioned, but I guess it's acceptable for now." His feet curled underneath him, and he stayed there, sitting cross legged at the end of the bed.

"What are the books for?" He asked, gaze dropping towards them.

Oliver made a delighted grab for the controller.

"I didn't know you liked chocolate, I have some more in my room if you want it," He replied, missing the point entirely as he unpaused the game and picked up right where Finn left off. He had acquired quite a bit of candy over the weekend, and while his tastes ran more towards pure cavity-inducing sugary confection, there was some chocolate in there as well. He was more than willing to share, especially when it could be bartered for video game time.

When Finn asked about the books, Oliver actually glanced down at them with some surprise, before picking up a chainsaw in game and making a bloody mess of the screen. He had forgot all about those.

"Oh, I... uh, was going to put those in my room. There's a couple chapters with old articles about stuff and- Did you see that zombie's face?! It looked a lot like Jack, but it wasn't as tall! Maybe I can find another one..." It would have been easier getting information out of the kid before the controller was handed over.

Finn rolled his eye but smirked at Oliver's clear misinterpretation of the moon hunters joke. He thought, for a moment, of leaving it be, but instead leaned towards Oliver's ear and whispered in a voice gone husky and low for affect. "Next time just regular kisses will do, princess. I like those even more then chocolate."

And now that trolling Oliver was dealt with and out of the way, back to the matter of the books, which had for some reason become more interesting to Finn then the video game on his television screen or zombies that looked oddly like Jack. Leaning further off of the bed so that his front end was dangling, his toes digging in to his bedspread to keep him from falling face first to the floor, he snatched both of the books up and scooted back up onto his bed until he was sitting with his back against the wall once more.

"Articles about stuff you say? How fascinating." He drawled with another eye roll, feeling like he had lost the younger man the moment he had given him that controller.

Cracking one of the books open, he began to read.

Suddenly Finn's low voice and warm breath was at Oliver's ear, sending a surprised, ticklish shiver up his back.

"Finn, stop it!" He protested loudly, his cheeks already going red as he wiggled away. The character on screen was attacked and knocked down by a zombie, and Oliver just barely fended it off with his broken chainsaw before pausing the game. Finally Finn had the boy's full attention.

Oliver readjusted a little ways out of Finn's reach, but didn't unpause the game right away. "Yeah, there was some stuff in there about historical accounts of people and potential interactions with Halloween residents, which would be weird if they were true since we could only see shadows, right? I've been learning a lot about how exactly we are able to see them, and what the bond does to us so we can see them clearly."

Finn barked out a laugh at Oliver's hasty protest and quickly blushing cheeks. Mission accomplished~ "You love it." He grinned, before gathering up the books and pushing himself back up into a prime sitting and reading position.

"Sounds riveting." He drawled, in such a way that implied that he actually thought the exact opposite. Yet still, he began to read, eye scanning the first page before moving to the next, and the next. To Finn, however, it were things like these that were the exact reason why he was glad he was not in the life division. Much too boring for his tastes.

"Just go back to the game, Princess. I'll bother you when I need you again." He muttered, quickly immersing himself in a book that was actually proving to be a slightly interesting read once past the subject that Oliver was interested in.
